Daisy and Iris

Crazy Daisy

2012-03-05T21:57:00.001+00:00

In years to come she'll kill me for posting photographs of her for all the world to see just how crazy she is, but seeing as she's not old enough to go on the internet on her own then i'll chance it.

Sometimes days in the garden make the best portraits.

Two new pics

2012-02-05T22:35:00.002+00:00

We went out for a wintery walk last Sunday, Iris took her camera with her, but i don't think she took any photos at all, they were too busy posing for me and having fun.
I now have lots and lots of lovely photos for me to play around with now.

Daisy - Ziggy stardust

2012-01-21T18:14:00.000+00:00

She did this herself yesterday and i realise it's still in her eyebrow now!

Girls on a bike ride

2012-01-14T21:40:00.002+00:00

We went on a little walk today. Iris scooted and the others rode their bikes. After a while Iris decided she didn't want to scoot so she pushed instead, she decided she might like to bike ride instead.

We met a big horse who was rather sweet.

Three little girls being silly in wellie boots, in my boot.

Glinda with fancy borders

2012-01-12T12:28:00.002+00:00

I've downloaded a new bit of software that acts like instagram (link or link) but on your computer instead of your phone, which is handy.
This one is called pixlr.com/o-matic/ and you can use it within the web browser or you can download it to your own computer.

2nd Cousin George (in law)

2012-01-09T14:36:00.002+00:00

I guess he's my second cousin in law, though he must be Daisy and Iris's second cousin or second cousin once removed or whatever, lets just call him a cousin.

He's extremely cute and squidgy and small and cute and squidgy and he smells nice and he's got lovely squidgy legs and he's light as a feather oh and he's cute.

Polly, i'm now an expert again at holding babies, so you can go ahead and have your baby soon.

A few photographs from the last week.

2012-01-02T21:37:00.000+00:00

Here are a few photographs from the last week.

Iris in her favourite position whilst being entertained by the Christmas telly.

Daisy being entertained too.

Girls foraging for yoghurts.

Iris's note for Rudolph pointing to her bowl of oats mixed with green glitter (which helps them fly back on the way home)

A very moldy cake i found in a tin in our kitchen, i have absolutely no idea where it came from, it's not home made cos it had a paper case.

And Stonehenge as we flew past on our way to Kent.

An old drawing of Iris'

2011-12-15T20:35:00.003+00:00

I found this old drawing of Iris' in a pile of papers in my office, i'm not sure who it is of and i think it must have been done a good six months ago, i just like the teeny tiny letgs, so sweet.

School Photographs

2011-10-31T22:46:00.004+00:00

I didn't really like the school photographs that Tulip Photography did of the girls, so i did my own.

Grandparents be warned you will be receiving these soon, make room on a suitable surface.

A Cardboard Skeleton

2011-10-16T10:38:00.004+01:00

Blimey, it's about time i updated this old thing.

My dad (Grandad Nick) gave us a 3d cardboard skeleton jigsaw kit thingy a while ago.
He'd been given it by Michelle i believe and he thought it would be much more interesting giving it to me to try to put together.

Well i can tell you it was a bloomin hard job to put together.

The instructions were worse than IKEA, and a little knowledge of the bones inside your body would be helpful, which was why i enrolled Andrea in to help me who rather helpfully is an orthopedic nurse.

Now i believe i'm allowed to put these photos up of the children in Daisy's school as long as i don't name them, so these children will remain unnamed.

Cross Country Running

2011-10-04T16:00:00.000+01:00

Daisy is in a cross country running team at school and on Tuesday she ran in her first race with lots of other children.
She did really well, she ran faster than a couple of girls who are older and bigger than her.

Fairies

2011-09-26T23:04:00.005+01:00

In my never ending quest to create the perfect flower fairy portraits, here is the latest experiment with Daisy, just before i chopped some of her hair off.

This is Iris posing in her birthday nightie (that i made) and her birthday wings, wand and crown that she bought from a toy shop in Wells with her birthday money.

oh and this is just a little extra photo.

Fish Stock

2011-09-19T22:01:00.002+01:00

We went down to Devon on the 10th to go to 'Fish Stock' in Brixham and the TAF's production of "Bugsy Malone".
Fish Stock Link
Torbay Acting Factory
Fish stock was fun, it was a bit fishy, the paella was rather tasty, there were some rather strange people, the music was a laugh and Marc did compering for a ready steady cook off .
The cook off was with Andy Sewell, the head chef at the Quayside Hotel in Brixham, against Richard Hunt, the head chef at The Grand hotel in Torquay.
Andy won.

Here are the girls on a trawler, they loved going down under the deck and seeing the little bunks where the men would sleep and little galley where they would eat their dinners.

Here is a rather strange fishy creature.

Here the girls are having their feet cleaned by tiny little fish, they said it tickled rather a lot.

This is a lady crab.

Daisy doing the rabbit ears on Iris.

Bugsy Malone was brilliant, the children who were in it were fantastic, well done my sister Polly for putting on a brilliant show.

Charlie the Chimp

2011-09-08T20:05:00.000+01:00

Iris apparently did some good writing today at school about her friend Peter.
Peter told me that he did good writing about his friend Iris.
Iris however got to take home 'THE CLASS CHIMP' for one night only.

Charlie the Chimp comes in a red bag and has a diary that has to be filled out by each child.
Iris is indescribably excited about this turn of events and Charlie the Chimp is currently in her bed with her now.

Posers

2011-08-21T18:32:00.002+01:00

I snapped a couple of shots of these two after somebody else's shoot, and they were so blasé about the whole thing, barely even smiling for me.
I'm going to have to do some serious photoshoots with them over the next few months to get them trained up again.

Marc the glider

2011-07-24T00:17:00.003+01:00

Marc went gliding today, it was a present from his sister for his 40th birthday back in November.
It was amazing.
I took lots of photos of this occasion, here are just a few

This is Marc about to get into the plane

This is Ron his pilot

Being strapped in

Waiting (note Paul, Emma and girls in the background)

Take off

Dropping the rope

Landing safe and sound

Posing

Race For Life

2011-07-23T00:02:00.001+01:00

Today I ran 5 kilometers in 36 mins and 33 seconds.
Hoorah.

I had no intention of running it, but then i just sort of ended up running for 3k with Emma, and then i stopped and was a bit dizzy (note to self when running in any group kind of running exercise, don't stop running just keep going) so then i walked for about half a kilometer whilst Emma carried on running, and then i felt much better and a steward told me it was only 1.5k left to go so i ran again.
I could also see Emma ahead of me which pushed me on.

There is dodgy photo on facebook, which quite frankly can just stay on facebook.

Rock Chicks

2011-07-18T10:54:00.003+01:00

It was our 11th wedding anniversary on Friday and Emma and Paul had the girls for the weekend for us and it was lovely having a lie in on both Sat and Sun.

Emma and Paul turned the girls into 'Rock Chicks'

Recent garden photos

2011-07-09T21:32:00.007+01:00

Here are some recent photographs of our garden.

The girls in 'their cave', i bought this pink thing from a car boot in Devon.

Our allotment looking quite green
Cabbages all wrapped up with a CD for company.
The chicken house and run
Glinda strutting around looking for worms
A little frog

Iris looking for a prince

Glinda heard the word frog, frogs are tasty to a chicken.

Fairy girls

2011-06-23T11:34:00.003+01:00

My girls posed for me with the huge mushroom that grandad made.
My work in progress is progressing.

Potential fairies come forward.

The girls and the twins after the wedding.

2011-06-13T11:43:00.000+01:00

Iris and Daisy really love Frankie and Evie, Iris especially loves them.
Iris did mention to me that they looked like snow white, and can you imagine how exciting to a four year old it must be to have not only one beautiful snow white 'look-e-like-e' to talk to and play with, but two identical beautiful snow white's.

This is Iris crying because the Snow Whites are leaving very shortly.

This is Iris cheering up because Frankie (i think that's Frankie) gave her a last cuddle.

Thankfully she remained happy for one last photograph.

Tom & Lucy's wedding

2011-06-12T11:35:00.000+01:00

Here are a few photographs from the wedding we went to recently up in Kent.

The happy couple.

Dancing with grandma and one of the twins (Frankie i think)

Iris quite liked her great uncle Chris.

Dungeness, Kent

2011-06-11T15:02:00.000+01:00

We were invited to the wedding of Tom and Lucy, this weekend just gone, Tom is Marc's cousin.
On the way we went to stay with Run & Lisa in Kent, and on Saturday we went to Dungeness.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeness

Dungeness Estate to precise, right next to the power station.

Here are some photographs

This believe it or not was Derek Jarman's little cottage.
Everything you ever wanted to know about him can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Jarman

This was his garden.

You can see the powerstation behind and to the left, and the old lighthouse to the right.
Not actually too sure why those megaphones are set into that building, they just point out to sea.

Just in front of those megaphones is a lovely stony beach.

Iris tried rolling down the stony dunes.

Daisy being a starfish

Iris braving barefoot to get to the sea

When she reached the sea she changed her mind.

Tiny toes in big shoes

2011-06-09T20:15:00.003+01:00

Oh the tiny toes are so sweet inside my big red shoes.

I've started bloggin again...

2011-06-05T22:42:00.001+01:00

Yes i have, and i will try my very hardest to keep it up.
