2012-01-25 - Lips and Feet

We call each other Buford, I don't know why or when this started. He's from Georgia and I'm from Alabama. We are a couple of southern boys, I guess it just somehow stuck! My "South GA BU" as he is commonly known by me is a great friend. He is a people builder...God has used him more than once to speak into my life! This is what makes him come alive and he's good at it. At the end of this blog is a link to hear him share a challenge that every Christian needs to hear.

We are so excited that we get to offer our Let's Get Reall Conference at home in Birmingham! Alabama ranks #3 in the nation for divorces and we are out to change that stat!

2012-01-16 - In The Word

If I told you that one of my resolutions was to lose weight and get healthy (which is usually always on the list somewhere!), you might ask me how I was going to accomplish this goal. If I answered, "I've decided to eat all the high sugar and fatty foods I can find and not exercise at all", I think you'd determine that I will certainly not meet my objective. Why? Because the resolution was right, but the pathway to reach that goal was wrong....

2012-01-09 - Making Room for Relationships

Every year after Christmas, I have to take a day and clean out my closet. I have all these clothes that I haven't worn for years that I keep thinking will either come back in style or I may just need at some moment in time. If I don't purge my closet, all I do is create more clutter and opportunity for me to get frustrated every time I try to pull something off the rack. As I set aside one day to make room for my new clothes, I am reminded to ask myself the question, "Am I

2012-01-02 - Resolution Carry Overs

Each January, our family sits down together and looks at the past year's resolutions. We celebrate the goals that were accomplished and forecast new goals for the next year. We always have a bunch of "carry-overs." You know, those goals that never seem to get accomplished but get pushed to next year, many of them remaining on the list for years! Anybody?

2011-12-08 - 5 Things to do in order to have a Merry Christmas!

We know these can be difficult days for many people. We remember Christmas of 1996 where our marriage was literally falling apart. I (Dale) heard stories just yesterday of marriages hanging on by the "proverbial" thread, just trying to make it through the holidays! Financial pressure, broken relationships, job loss, sickness, uncertain futures-in the midst of all of this, can we really find "glad tidings" and "joy to the world"? We are so glad you asked, because the answer to that is a YES!!!

2011-11-18 - Protecting Your Family

We (and hopefully you) are absolutely sick to our stomachs over the headlines for the last few weeks: A marriage that ends in 72 day - "REALLY?" Penn State and Jerry Sandusky - "Disgusting and Pure Evil", Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's - what a "pathetice view of marriage!!!" And while we are not going to cover all of these in this blog, we are going to help you with some amazing tips to PROTECT YOUR FAMILY, and especially your kids... in light of the Jerry Sandusky case

2011-08-20 - Demi Lovato and Skyscraper

Today is my birthday, and I am not thinking of myself today, but about a girl who shares my birth date, Demi Lovato. Some may know of her and some may not, but I was introduced to her by my daughter, Jorja, who fell in love with her voice, her music, and her heart. The more I heard about this beautiful, winsome, ultra-talented young lady, I was more and more endeared to her, and was so

2011-08-11 - Two Ticks on a Dog

I will never forget my dad showing up on a Saturday afternoon after his Saturday morning round of golf telling me and my two brothers to come outside to his car. Were we in trouble? Did he need our help? Oh, no, sure hope he doesn't have some kind of work for us to do? As I got to the car, he opened the rear passenger side door and sitting in the floor was a little brown fur ball. You guessed it, dad had brought home a puppy. Dad told us that while he was playing golf, he heard
