%%BLOGDESCLINK%

My experience as a Wildside blogger for SeaWorld San Antonio has been one of the best blogger to brand relationships that I have had. It’s a testament to the quality of my blog, the content and most of all to you, the reader who value my opinion. I hope I continue to live up to your expectations. When I was approached to apply as a Wildsider blogger, I knew that my particular niche of single parents was unique and that I connected well with many single parents. My travel experience to SeaWorld with my three children has been especially wonderful as a single parent. Part of the Wildside program includes events at SeaWorld San Antonio throughout the year. We get complimentary passes that allow us entrance into the park for the year. Over the weekend of 06/15 and 06/16, bloggers from within the Wildside program and other bloggers interested in learning more about tools to manage their blogs got to experience AdventureCon 2013. SeaWorld Aquatica AdventureCon 2013 is a blogging conference unlike no other as SeaWorld San Antonio puts on this conference and gathers the experts to teach workshops and offer advice about blogging, visual content, social media and more. more »

The post Seaworld Aquatica AdventureCon 2013: A demonstration of brand and blogger engagement appeared first on Dallas Single Mom - A Dallas mom blog for single parents.

%%BLOGDESCLINK%

From slapstick reality shows like “Wipeout” to children’s programming without any redeeming values, the state of children’s broadcast television defines the phrase “intellectual wasteland.” Now and again you’ll find shows you’re happy to get your kids hooked on and frequently watch, but many shows that are deemed age-appropriate seem like nothing more than half-hour advertisements for merchandising companies or more suitable for older kids and adults. Luckily, some streaming services can help weed out what you want your kids watch a bit easier. Common streams such as Amazon and Netflix have taken up the challenge. Amazon Amazon is running with the original programming concept this year, producing 14 new pilots that viewers can vote on, ultimately deciding whether they’ll be made into full series. Included in this list are two children’s series. The first, “Sara Solves It,” is created by the producer of “Curious George” and “Arthur,” with writing by a veteran “Blues Clues” staffer. In this series, brother/sister team Sam and Sara find mysteries in their everyday life, which turn into math-based problems that children can solve right along with the characters. In another show, “Creative Galaxy,” an adorable tiny alien travels to a number of different planets, each more »

The post Moving Online: The Future of Children’s Television appeared first on Dallas Single Mom - A Dallas mom blog for single parents.

%%BLOGDESCLINK%

This guest post by Anita demonstrates how we are all interconnected and set an example for the future generations. Anita’s attention to those details make this guest post especially enjoyable. Despite what people always say, it doesn’t always take a village to raise a child. Your actions alone have a huge impact on your baby. It doesn’t matter what you try to preach to your child, he will always pay attention to your actions more than your words. Children – even babies – are like sponges. They spend their formative years imitating you, which includes picking up your subtle habits and mannerisms, so it’s important to set a good example to your child. Don’t just tell them to be nice to people – you have to demonstrate it. Actions speak louder than words, after all. Practice what you preach and be kind to others; it’s the only way to instill that habit into your child because he’s always watching and imitating you. This practice doesn’t only apply to obvious behaviors; your child can certainly pick up a lot of subtle cues from you without you even realizing it. Your habits affect your baby’s future behavior a lot more than you more »

The post 4 Surprising Habits That Will Affect Your Baby’s Future Behavior appeared first on Dallas Single Mom - A Dallas mom blog for single parents.

%%BLOGDESCLINK%

If you are a single mom, taking a shower is that little luxury for yourself that you may have for just a few minutes every day. Many of us don’t get a spa experience nor do we have the time to worry about whether our skin is truly getting clean and clear of toxins. My shower is my oasis and my escape for a few minutes and so I was excited to get a new showerhead to review called the Rejuvenator. Rejuvenator Products™ is a brand that has launched a revolutionary new showerhead, which harnesses an innovative water technology, to dramatically enhance the shower experience and improve skin care. I’m not going to lie, I was very skeptical about this technology. At first I was just excited to get a new showerhead because my old showerhead broke. So I really wanted to take a look at what sets this showerhead apart from the rest. At around $89.95 on Amazon.com and $89.99 from Brookstone the Rejuvenator Micro Shower Headhas some unique features that I got to learn about and test out. Features and Benefits The main feature of this showerhead is a technology called Microbubbles. “What sets The Rejuvenator™ apart from your more »

The post The Rejuvenator showerhead uses microbubbles to deep clean your skin appeared first on Dallas Single Mom - A Dallas mom blog for single parents.

%%BLOGDESCLINK%

At Dallas Single Mom not only do we talk about the trials and tribulations associated with being a single parent but we also review products from time to time that just make sense for kids, parents and teens. Beginning this father’s day weekend, the release of superhero films like Man of Steel will put the nostalgia back into your dad’s (Or mom’s) comic book days. Now the folks at FAB Starpoint and iHome/Disney are featuring collections with a variety of Superhero pieces. I got to review a Marvel Avengers Captain America Rechargeable Character Speaker, by iHome. It has a USB cable that can attach to your smartphone, cellphone or ipad/tablet. For just $24.99 on Amazon.com, you can also find this product at retailers like Walmart. Portable speakers make excellent gifts and choosing these special little superhero ones designed by iHome/Disney can give the superhero dad (or mom) in your life a great reason to smile. This little speaker has such great sound. Here are some of the features: Mini speaker for any audio source (must connect via USB) Cool character design with size-defying sound Built-in rechargeable battery Connect multiple speakers via the line-in jack (up to 3) Includes cable for charging more »

The post Which superhero is your dad (or Mom)?
