Unfortunately, there's no official USSD code to check your data balance for this plan. The popular *228#keeps saying you have 0MB even if you have an active night data plan subscription.

We've been expecting Android O since the beginning of this year when it was newly announced; and now, here are the confirmed Android smartphones that will be getting the new Android version via OTA (Over-The-Air).

As it's always the case, not all Android phones will get the update, but future smartphones like Infinix, Tecno and the rest of them may start coming with this new Android OS. For now, i have gathered the confirmed Android phones that will be getting the update via OTA.

Ofcourse, Android O (Oreo) has lots of features that it's coming with. New system UI, system enhancement and more of it. You shouldn't waste a second to update to this new Android version (which is expected to be released mid August this year 2017) if your phone was listed below.

Pixel owners is said to be the first to receive the update.

What Android Phones will be Getting Android O Update?

Well, according to speculations, here are the devices that will be getting Android 0 update via OTA.

Google Pixel, Pixel XL — Being Google's own devices, the two Pixels are ought to begin receiving Android O as soon as it's officially out.

WhatsApp to get PiP video calls

WhatsApp beta version 2.17.265 for Android comes with a new feature, one that is enabled by default for those devices that are running the Android O Developer Preview.

The feature would let you minimize the video call window into a smaller window so you can keep your video conversation going while answering another WhatsApp conversation.

We’re not sure if the small window with the video chat is a floating window that can be dragged around, nor do we know if the video conference would continue even after minimizing WhatsApp. If so, this would be one of the first video calling apps to allow this type of multi-tasking on a smartphone platform.

Airtel Launches New Unlimited Data Packages. See Prices & Codes

Few days ago, Airtel Nigeria released a teaser video informing us that their Unlimited data plans is coming and since then, many of us has been anxiously waiting for the official launch of the data plan. And now, Airtel has silently launched the unlimited data.

When we say unlimited data, to me it means browse, stream and download as you like without thinking about your data (let me say download till mama call. Lol). But for now I can’t say whether these Airtel unlimited data plans are capped or not as it was silently launched and even without any single word or comment from them.

The official Airtel Nigeria unlimited data plan comes in three packages: Unlimited 10 for N10,000, Unlimited 15 for N15,000 and Unlimited 20 for N20,000. Which means you can choose anyone that best suite you from the three packages.

WhatsApp to get YouTube video support directly within app

WhatsApp is currently testing a feature that'll allow you to view YouTube videos directly within the chat window, eliminating the need for the app to launch the YouTube app for playback.

The feature enables playback to be launched in a picture-in-picture window, while also offering functionalities like pinch-to-zoom, full screen view mode, and hide ongoing playback to continue reading messages in chat.

However, the playback will stop if you switch to some other chat. Reportedly, the feature is currently only available on iOS, with supported devices including the iPhone 6 and above. No such tests have been noticed on the app's Android and Windows Phone clients.

If testing goes fine, iOS users will be able to enjoy WhatsApp's new in-app YouTube playback soon.

To use the new feature, WhatsApp users on Android can head to Google Play to download the latest version of the app. Apart from support for all file types and media bundling, the latest WhatsApp or update it also enables text formatting in the chat. When typing text in a chat window, users can now tap and hold to select the text to easily bold, strikethrough, or italicise. This feature was also available earlier to beta users.

Several beta users last month also started receiving new shared media bundling feature. This WhatsApp feature was rolled out to iPhone users last month, and refines the sharing of multiple photos on the platform.

Voice calls are probably far from the most important thing you do on your iPhone, but voice calls themselves are still important, especially if you conduct business from home and deal with multiple clients every day.

In cases like these, it’s better to use speaker phone because it frees up your hands — for writing notes, finding files on your computer, or multi-tasking simple chores during longer calls.

And instead of switching to speaker mode every time you make or receive a call, you can just set your iPhone to use that mode by default. You just need to tweak an accessibility setting:

Open the Settings app > Go to General > Accessibility.
Scroll down and select Call Audio Routing. This is on Automatic by default. Select Speaker by tapping on it.

Now, you do not have to tap the speaker icon every time on the call screen. From the same screen above, you can enable all calls to go to a Bluetooth headset automatically. Tap Default and your iPhone will revert to working like a good old telephone again.

All calls, both incoming and outgoing (including FaceTime), will respect this setting. Note that you can also use iTunes to manage the Accessibility features on your device.

The SSL also encrypts the information that is being sent, which means that the true meaning of the data (credit card numbers, personal information, etc.) is very difficult to be cracked by anyone trying to see the information. Nowadays, the majority of web browsers support HTTPS for more secure Internet browsing. Browsers such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Firefox will display a padlock icon to identify a secure HTTPS connection to a website. Glo introduces free data to subscribers

Nigerian multinational telecommunications company, Globacom has introduced a new data offer, which guarantees its data subscribers a free access to the Internet for a whole day.

The telecommunications company said that the new offer, ‘Free Data Day’, had been programmed to give subscribers on the network that met the threshold of voice or data usage, 200 megabytes, usable throughout the day for all data-related activities.

“The offer is open to all Glo subscribers,” a statement from the telecoms company said.
The Globacom’s Zonal Business Coordinator, Lagos, Adebola Omoboya, said that the offer would allow subscribers on the Glo network to browse the Internet free of charge for a whole day.
According to him, subscribers who want to enjoy the Free Data Day are expected to spend a certain amount or more on calls in the preceding seven days to a free data day or spend at least N150 on voice calls.

“They are also expected to use a minimum of 100MB of data in the preceding seven days to the free data day from any or a combination of methods such as ‘Pay as you use’, purchase of data plan’ and usage from existing data plan,” Omoboya said.

He said that the offer “is easy to access as the qualified customers will be notified when they have met the threshold for the Free Data Day.”
He said that they would not be required to dial any code to opt in or subscribe to any platform before enjoying the benefits.

“When a customer qualifies for the offering, the customer will be able to enjoy free data usage throughout that day,” he said.
Similarly, the company announced the launch of ‘Glo Welcome Back’, an offer that will give customers who have not utilised the Glo network in 30 days, with free credit when they recharge their lines.

“The credit can be used to browse, send text messages and make calls,” the telco said.
Details of the offer showed that subscribers could access the free airtime based on the amount of recharge made and subject to a maximum amount.
