Ninety Nine Restaurant - Grand Indonesia Jakarta

Located near to Ranch Market at Lower Ground of East Mall, this restaurant is quite easy to spot on. But if you still don't know where is it, it's alright because Grand Indonesia mall can be quite tricky to find a certain shop or restaurant especially on the lower ground area like around Nomz and Publik Markette .

To find this restaurant, go to the front of H&M or Pull&Bear or Central and look down, did you see lots of tables, chairs and sofas with lots of artificial trees around in the center of the lower ground ? Congrats, you found it !

With a lot of artificial trees around the restaurant, the restaurant scene looks like a restaurant in the middle of a park. This restaurant, to be honest, is a very good place to hangout, have a lunch or dinner or even just a drink and just chit-chatting.

Also there's a sofa for who, like i said, want to relax, chit-chatting, have some drinks.

There's also a bar inside the restaurant.

They also got a great collection of alcohol drinks and wine.

Scotch, whiskey, draft beer, martini, you name it, they got it.

Alright, let's check their food out !

French Fries

The most common appetizer and everyone's favorite, French Fries with mayonnaise sauce. Well, i got nothing to say about this, i'm sure everyone ever ate it.

Baked Chicken Breast

First thought, it looks kinda like sushi roll especially with the sauce and there's a filling inside the meat. The filling inside the meat is mashed potato and on top of the meat is bean sprouts, such a bizarre side dish for something like chicken breast in my opinion. Then there's also mushroom.

The flavor was good, the chicken was nice and the mashed potato inside mixed perfectly with the flavor from the chicken. The mushroom though, is not really good, it is somehow a little bit sour. Bean sprouts, well, i'd say it is not a good side dish for something like chicken breast.

Pork Schnitzel

Pork Schnitzel, easy way to say, fried pork with bread crumbs. Served along with french fries again and green and red lettuce with vinegar. This dish is really good, i can really feel and taste the crumbs. It got a nice crust, crispy and juicy tender pork.

Spaghetti Bolognaise

I had this thing that always order at least one pasta dish everytime i go to a restaurant that served pasta, whether it is for share or just for me. Spaghetti Bolognaise like usual bolognaise with minced beef, tomato ragout, and parmesan cheese, is one of my favorite sauce for pasta. But their sauce is really sour, don't know where the acidity came from but my guess is from the tomato. Not really satisfied with this dish and not a really good dish.

Nasi Pecal

Traditional Indonesian food in this kind of restaurant always gives me such a curiosity to try them out. I mean, i want to know, how better can they make it comparing to the traditional one, or what makes them more expensive, but obviously the answer is this restaurant located at the mall, so it is only natural that they are more expensive :D.

Surprisingly, this dish is better than the spaghetti that i ordered. The pecal is served with steamed rice, prawn crackers, egg, and beef. The pecal sauce itself is really good, not too runny and a bit spicy.

Exhausted from shopping and to cool it down from a lot of food, fresh fruit iced tea is the solution.

Iced Mandarin consist mandarin orange, mint, and passion fruit syrup.

Iced Lime is well, lime.

Pink Lychee Iced Tea is a recommendation from the waiter consist lychee and grape syrup.

All is a really fresh beverages.

Ta Chia - Muara Karang Jakarta

On the first day of Lebaran Holiday, many restaurant closed that day due to the shortage of employees or waiters and such that went 'mudik' :D. So i decided to go the China Town of Jakarta which obviously is Muara Karang, Pluit. Restaurant over there usually open during Lebaran Holiday. Then to cut the story short, i find this restaurant.

Not so many people know this Chinese restaurant. Located at Jalan Pluit Karang Timur or also known as Muara Karang area. Ta Chia restaurant is a Chinese Restaurant that served various Chinese and Indonesian food. They are quite famous of their Bak Kut Teh.

Bak Kut Teh

You can choose whether you want the pork tenderloin, ribs, intestine or all mixed. Also it is available in small portion, medium or large.

Actually it is really a good dish. I personally like it very much. The soup's flavor is very light, different from another restaurant bak kut teh which tasted and smelled really heavy with herbs and spice. I am not a fan of intestine, so i ordered the ribs. It got a nice texture and flavor from the soup. It is a recommended dish if you are going to this restaurant.

Kecap Kaki Babi

Another pork dish and one of my favorite part of a pork, the leg ! Chinese people like to cook and eat this a lot. Their pork leg actually was quite good too. There's a part that too chewy but it's normal since it's a pork leg. The sauce was sweet and not to runny.

Mun Mie

Because of the crowd, this noodle took the chef almost 30 minutes to cook. I mean, i waited that long, don't know what the reason, but my guess is maybe because of the crowd.

The noodle was good, nice texture cooked with egg and Chinese cabbage. Looks and tasted a bit like a Hor Fan (Kwetiaw Siram).

Cah Pocai

Always like Chinese style of fried vegetables dish. Simple and delicious. Only requires garlic and salt and the vegetables itself.

Sate Babi

Finally, some Indonesian food. They have 2 kinds of satay, chicken and pork. This time, i ordered pork. The peanut sauce was really good and the satay itself was grilled perfectly. Recommended dish here too.

Well, i never have other drink than Chinese Tea if i'm eating at a Chinese restaurant. It is healthy and gave you the kind of peaceful and relax feeling.

Well guys, this restaurant has just become one of my favorite Chinese restaurant. So if you ever go to or even just passing by Muara Karang area, you should try them out !

MeaterS & MATCHAFUKU - Citra Garden 6

Today's review will be a little bit different than before. Why ? Because this time, it isn't located at the mall LOL :D

Let's not taking the long time and directly focus on the places.

The place's name is MeaterS Steak & Ribs Specialist, a restaurant which serve mainly about steaks and ribs, though it serves pasta too. Well, to be precisely, this restaurant actually stands together with other restaurant. Shortly, in the building, the 1st floor is this MeaterS and the 2nd floor is MATCHAFUKU, a dessert outlet.

I was coming to this places with my cousin. Well, drove around the avenue and couldn't decide what to have for the dinner, so my cousin chose to try this outlet again since he had tried it before and he liked it.

Both restaurant's owner is the same, so you can order MATCHAFUKU's menu while you sit at MeaterS place. Quite convenient B-)

Crackling Pork Knuckle

This dish, it says it is their specialty in the restaurant, so I tried one.

The pork was delicious ! The meat was juicy and the skin, it was fried perfectly, crispy texture. Really enjoyable for me. You can either eat it yourself or share it with your friends since in my opinion, it is meaty and you might get really full just from this dish :D

The sauce, well, I couldn't figure it out what it was. All I knew was that, it tasted sweet and a little sour, really compatible with the pork, but for me, I didn't quite like it, I dipped into the sauce only for couple times since the sauce was too sour for me.

I asked the waitress about the sauce name, but she answered me saying that the sauce was came with the meat together, so most of them didn't know what it was too -__-

Chargrilled Chicken (Single)

This one, I liked the chicken steak. It was moist and juicy, really delicious. Cut the chicken and... It was cooked perfectly. NICE...!!!! The steak was seasoned perfectly too ! It tasted sweet and tasty. Really a good dish to me :)

The salad and fries were usual. Nothing special could be described from them, the mayo on the salad was sour yet delicious and yummy.

The taste, well, usual milkshake. Ice cream and milk blended together. I liked the milkshake, just that, it was too cold and brain freezing :|

Matcha again ! My favorite flavor B-)

I really like this outlet's matcha ice cream, it has a little bit of bitter taste which is produced from the matcha itself, green tea is bitter right ? LOL. The reason is because, well, others sell matcha ice cream only for the color, but the taste ? Some of them are too sweet for me, which I don't quite like. That's why I favorite this outlet's matcha.

For the toppings, they tasted usual, nothing quite special about it, only the Shiratama Balls were new to me. It tasted delicious, kind of Bubble, but this one had the fruits flavor, like mine, the melon's flavor.

Overall, this dessert is recommended if you like Matcha :)

Actually, this dessert used the Matcha Ice Cream too, my cousin didn't like it, so he asked to change the flavor, Taro Ice Cream.

The ice cream was yummy. The taro scent was strong in the ice cream.

The toppings, Boba, QBall were delicious and chew-able.

The only problem to me was only on the grass jelly and the shredded ice. They tasted so bland -__-. Mixed them with the milk and ice cream, still no sweet flavor coming out from the mixture :|

Babura Dim Sum & Steamboat - Pantai Indah Kapuk Jakarta

If you are Medanese, i'm sure 99% that you know this restaurant, even if you ever been to Medan, you probably ever heard this restaurant.

They just opened their first outlet in Jakarta, located at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), a familiar place and a very hot spot right now in Jakarta for food bloggers like us and all big foodies like you guys out there.

Since that i'm from Medan, i already know and went to this place quite a lot since i were just a elementary kid and please let me tell you a little story about this restaurant. At Medan, the restaurant's name is Sangwo and Dimsum Ayong, located at Jl. Babura. The restaurant's journey starts from the owner who people called Ayong, then it became one of the top restaurant at Medan, and because of the street's name, people like to call the restaurant 'Babura'. Sometimes at Medan, if you ask people about 'Babura', people would think that you are asking about the restaurant not the street. Some people even don't know if you said 'Sangwo and Dimsum Ayong' but if you said 'Babura' they will know that you mean the restaurant. This restaurant is crowded at weekday, let alone weekend. Most people like to go there to have breakfast. But personally, i like to have brunch there, to avoid the crowd and the dimsum for me, is perfect dish for brunch.

Back to Jakarta. Here, they used the name 'Babura' because most people don't know if you said 'Sangwo and Dimsum Ayong'. Their location is very strategic in my opinion, because many Medanese in Jakarta live around Pantai Indah Kapuk, Pluit, Muara Karang. Since they're very famous at Medan, i think Medanese at Jakarta will help them to gain popularity in this big capital city.

In case you don't know what is sangwo, it's steamboat. Medanese like to call it sangwo. To be honest, i never try their steamboat, because every time i visit there, i always want to eat their dimsum.

Alright, let me break it down one by one of my favorite dishes there.

This simple dish is really recommended !

Available also in 3 sizes of portion. I like everything simple and plain here, so i decided to try their Bihun Goreng Polos once. Comparing to both the dishes above, i have to admit this dish was a little one step behind. It still tasted good but i prefer mie or kwetiaw.

Well, at least it still worth to try.

Just for information, Goreng Polos (Plain Fried), for Chinese people usually translate as fried dishes with vegetables only, meat and seafood are not included to the dishes. The Goreng Polos always use the ingredients, like : Bean Sprout, small chopped Garlic, and Chinese Cabbage.

Another simple dish ! Fried chicken presented with fried garlic. The chicken was cut to small pieces and the texture was nice and also the saltiness level was perfect.

Why this is so good ? The answer is mainly because it is pork ! Very crispy and fried with garlic, scallion. A little bit salty but honestly, i like it. The garlic mixed with scallion also tasted very good !

Their dimsum are all good and delicious but this is one of my favorite. Medanese call this 'Chai Thau Kwe' which is made from radish. It is also a very traditional chinese food.

Leng Hong Kien is the icon of the dimsum. Every dimsum restaurant have this dish. This is also my favorite dimsum there. Consist of minced shrimp with mayonnaise dressing. A must try !

Bebek Tepi Sawah - Baywalk Mall Jakarta

"Makan Bebek Tepi Sawah di tepi laut". So it's written on the whiteboard at the front of the restaurant along with many autographs from celebrities and famous people who obviously have already been to this awesome restaurant.

Last time when I visited Bali back in 2010, I heard a lot of people recommend this place at Ubud, Bali, but sadly, I didn't have the chance to go there. So, it's a very happy news for me when they are opening their outlets in Jakarta. And I've been to their outlets in Jakarta quite a few times. Now, they have 4 outlets in Jakarta, one at PIM, one at Living World Alam Sutra, one at Cilandak Town Square and the one I visited was at Baywalk Mall, Pluit. Meanwhile, at Bali, they have at least 4 or 5 outlets already. Their first restaurant is located at Ubud, Bali and like the name, Bebek Tepi Sawah - Ubud offer different experience of culinary, the restaurant is right beside a very beautiful wide ricefield.

Let's talk about the place first, I've been to the Living World outlet once and quite often to the outlet at Baywalk since I live nearby. Apart from indoor area, they also got tables outdoor and for smoking area. But when I saw their outlet at PIM (Pondok Indah Mall), I saw that they didn't have the outdoor setting because they're inside the mall and at the highest level of the building.

The place's decoration looks traditional yet somehow classy and sophisticated with Balinese interior and glass that let sunlight in and also offer the sea view.

Alright then, let's check out their dishes !

They served quite awesome food ranging from Western to Indonesian Cuisine, specifically Balinese Cuisine and also my personal favorite here is the Mocktail. As you know, Indonesian foods are usually spicy, and that's when Mocktail came to help with the fresh and sweetness of fruits and not forget to mention, it makes you feel like you are in Bali :) .

Tepi Sawah Crispy Duck

This is one of their signature dish and also one of their best seller, and also my personal favorite. Tepi Sawah Crispy Duck served with white rice and green beans and 3 kinds of sambel (chili sauce). Very simple dish but yet so delicious. The crispy duck was indeed very crispy and the texture was very good, saltiness level is perfect.

These 3 kinds of traditional Indonesian chili sauce or we called 'sambal' really perfect for the duck. The first one is onion with mixed red and green chili gave you additional spicy and sourness flavor, The middle one is a very spicy sambal with tomato and also mixed green and red chili, and last, the third is sambal terasi. My personal favorite is the onion one. But some people like to mixed them all. Both ways tasted awesome !

Actually this was the same dish, but the difference was only on the duck, it was grilled. Tepi Sawah Grilled Duck. Served also with white rice and green beans. The grilled duck is also good. Seasoning on the duck was perfect and with the 3 sambel, it tasted even better !

Another grilled dish. Grilled Gurame served with sweet chili soy sauce. The seasoning was perfect with a little bit spicy flavor and sourness from the lime when they seasoned the fish I guessed. The fish was fresh and delicious, there wasn't any fishy smell. And the sweetness from the chili sauce kind of balanced the spiciness and sourness from the seasoning. It's really a good dish !

One of my favorite mocktail here. Legian is a mocktail with lychee and kiwi fruits made it a very exotic and fresh mocktail. As I said earlier, this really gave you the freshness after you eat a lot of spicy food.

This drink really was refreshing. If you were eating some spicy food or maybe you were too thirsty, this drink really suited that condition. It was sweet and tasted really good.

I guessed, most of the mocktail were all refreshing. Ordered any and all the taste really fresh. The pineapple blended with the others didn't make the drink tasted sour, but sweet. Really a good combination !

Welcome back to this blog, guys !!

We have just finished our last test, so we will WELCOME JULY with happy face celebrating the LONG HOLIDAY.... Woohoooooo......!!!

Today, I want to review about one of the best restaurant I have ever visited. It's Publik Markette.

Here's the look of the restaurant.

This restaurant is located at Grand Indonesia and to be precisely, at the East Mall, just across from NOMZ Kitchen & Pastry (click on the name to be directed to the review). The place is really cozy and I really did enjoy on coming here the first time.

This restaurant is one of the restaurant from Ismaya Group (KITCHENETTE, SUSHIGROOVE, PIZZA E BIRRA, etc), a hospitality group with many awesome, fancy and gourmet restaurants. Always exciting and pleasurable visiting their restaurants.

These are the pictures of the restaurant's designs.

Here's what I liked from this place, though it's gonna be a long long story.

First.

The restaurant's system is that, it doesn't have a menu list for the food because everyday, the food is changed depend on, i think, the chefs' decision, I mean, the food is different everyday, so you can eat quite many kind of cuisines if you come here many times.

Second.

Though the restaurant looks dark when it's at night, but actually, it is quite comfortable. There is a lamp laid on every table as the light source, so it looks like you are having a lamplight dinner (~~candle light~~ LOL...)

Third.

At first, we (Vincent and I) chose the non-smoking area and we were seated with a small round table. To be truthful, we didn't like the placement very much because both of us usually order the food amount for almost 3 - 4 people (LOL) and it's next to the "Smoking" area tables -_-. BUT, here's the thing. We didn't smell any smoke at all, well, we didn't know how it could but we were really relieved cause we didn't spend our dinner accompanied by the cigarette's smoke.

Okay, that's all the story of it. Now, back with the food :)

As in the picture says : LET'S START THE JOURNEY !

At Publik Markette, the system is like this :
1. You start at the front after you take your own card containing your table's number which you can obtain on your table,
2. The First station contains the pastry like dough with jams,
3. The Second station, it is mainly the main course or which you can say, today's menu. Here, you can choose any meal you like with the description you can read and most of the dishes are served with one side dish,
4. The Third station is the veggies. As in the previous stations, you choose any you like just by saying the menu and show your table number to them,
5. Here's my favorite station. The Fourth station is the dessert station.
6. And the last station, the Fifth, it's the fresh drinks (juices, etc).

Texas Dry Rub Beef Brisked with Corn Salad

Vincent ordered this one. I might say that this was the best dish that night.

The beef, it was so tender and juicy, we thought it was a pork at first and we even walked back to the second station to make sure that it was a beef dish LOL.

The side dish, we chose, it was Sweet Potatoes. This side dish was my favorite ! It tasted really delicious. When I ate it, it tasted like a small bread being toasted and served. It had the sweet taste.

For the Corn Salad, well, nothing too special about it. It tasted like a pizza toppings,

From this dish, we were given a Yorkshire Pudding. You can find the info here. It tasted delicious with the special sauce served to us.

Overall, this dish was recommended if you ever find this when you are visiting Publik Markette.

Rotisserie Chicken with Horseradish Mayonnaise

Well, I had a little doubt with the chicken because it was a half chicken and usually it could be overcooked, but I ordered it anyway.

Here's my thought.

The chicken was delicious and it was slightly overcooked in my opinion. The forequarter (breast and wing) part was a little hard but the thigh part was tender, which I liked :D

The side dish, it was the same as Vincent's. The potatoes were delicious.

For the mayonnaise, well, I liked it. It was sweet and sour and when I ate it with the chicken and potatoes, it matched well. Overall, this dish was good :)

The pie was delicious. The apple, it was sweet and it was crunchy.

The cream served with the pie tasted delicious too.

I asked the chef for what this dessert was, and he answered this was a pie made with brown sugar.

The taste ? This was the best !

It was sweet, crunchy and addictive. I couldn't even stop eating it after the first bite hahaha...

Though it was delicious, I couldn't ask for 2nd plate. Why ? Because of the sweetness, my stomach felt uncomfortable -_-, but at least you should try one, IT ROCKS !!

Combination of Sweet Apple and Orange

We heard that their smoothie was pretty good and many people recommended it, so we gave it a try.

The smoothie, mine was okay. I liked it.

The orange and apple really suited each other, it was sweet yet no sour taste from the apple though. This might be the first time I enjoyed a smoothie.

Overall, this restaurant was really good for hanging out and having dinner with your family or partner. With the system of different menu everyday, you can try to eat many kind of cuisines each day, as long as your pocket can survive the price LOL.

I might want to visit here once again and hopefully, the menu will have my favorite one :D

That's the word we heard when we came here : "irashaimase". It means "welcome" when you visit a restaurant. This time, we visited a Japanese restaurant located at Pondok Indah Mall and to be precisely, it's in the Street Gallery, near the BLACKLISTED.

Here's the look.

As in the picture has shown, the name of the restaurant is KOBE by Shabu - Shabu House. A restaurant which serve buffet lunch or dinner for family.

Short story of how we could end up coming here is this.

Since I've came to Jakarta, I intend to try a place which serve buffet meal and so does Vincent, he wants to try one too. As we know now, a buffet always serves a lot of food with different cuisines and of course, the price for the buffet is quite expensive. Luckily, this one, the price wasn't. It suits with us, for students and big eater LOL...

Since this month is the fasting month, the restaurant is always fully booked during the night and thankfully, when we arrived, there was still an empty table for us :D

- Gyudon (I found there were 2 types, 1 serves as a soup and the other one was liked a side dish)

As for the desserts, there were macaron, chocolate fountain and some satay (fruits, marshmallow stick like a satay and deeped to the fountain), brownies, and many more.

For the place, well, it was cozy and comfortable for families to gather and eat together. Sadly, there is a rule that the customer may only spend time only for 120 minutes in Weekday and 90 minutes in Weekend. Quite enough for people who intend to eat only without talking ehh ? Hahahaha.

The review starts now !

There are 3 types of packages that you need to choose when you come here :

1. Regular (IDR 149k ++ weekday / IDR 177k ++ weekend)

2. Deluxe (IDR 249k ++ weekday / IDR 299k++ weekend)

3. Wagyu (IDR 349k++ weekday / IDR 399k++ weekend)

The differences are only on the beef steaks, and on the Deluxe and Wagyu, you can choose whether you want steaks or sukiyaki. We chose the Regular one.

There are 3 types of sauces :

We chose the Onion sauce.

The beef was delicious. Though it wasn't juicy and the meat was tough, the sauce really helped to make the steak tasted good, for me.

The sweet potato really tasted good. It's sweet and the onion rings were delicious too ! Meanwhile, the carrot, well, when I ate it, it was still hard and I had trouble chewing it -_- maybe it was still raw :|

This one, I liked the most. While it was still hot, it's crunchy and the filling, the vegetables were all tasted good, the sweetness was perfect !

Another dish which I liked, the Karaage. It was juicy and tasted really good. At first, I didn't want to try it, thinking that the chicken would taste so meaty and hard to chew, but apparently, I couldn't stop eating this.

Hamburg Stew, Karage, Spring Roll, Gyudon Beef

The Hamburg Stew, it was a kind of meat made into a meatball and pressed it to look like a patty (not a Crabby Patty, please. LOL..). It tasted good, the sauce tasted like a spaghetti's sauce, the bolognese. Most of the meat here were made with beef which I really liked it !

Another favorites. Got a lot here, LOL....

The thin sliced beef cooked with special Japanese sauce. This was the best out of the best in my opinion. I even took a plate full of this beef. It really tasted PERFECTO ! All the flavor came out as you chew on the meat.

Best chicken dish I ever ate ! I really mean this :|

The chicken was really juicy, moist and flavorful. I took this the most out of the others. How can be this was enjoyable ? The answer is because, the chefs had taken out all the bones from the meat, so you can eat the whole meat without needing to separate the bones and meat.

Rate : 9.0 / 10 (again, in my opinion)

Ahhh.... What a scenery to see the red raw meat. Well then, how do we eat this ? Ohhhh.... *thinking

Tell you what, there was soup for boiling the meat of course !

We got the choices :

1. Miso

2. Spicy Miso

3. Original

We chose the Soyu.

How to cook the beef ?

Here's the steps :

- Take the meat

- Dip it to the boiling soup

- Wait only for seconds (the red color change to white)

- Take it out and eat it

I even used the soup to boil other ingredient.

There's an ice cream machine which you can make your own ice cream.

The flavors are :

For the toppings, KOBE provides quite a lot.

- Tim Tam

- Rum Raisin

- Choco Chip

- Pop Eggs (lychee, mango, melon, etc)

Here's my creation.

Even though I was already full, I managed to finish 2 glasses of this matcha ice cream, believe me it is that good.

I LOVE Matcha a lot. Really :D, I even drink matcha green tea quite a lot at home.

The ice cream was so soft and the smell of green tea was strong which was the reason I forced to finish 2 glasses.

Overall, KOBE really is one of the best place to eat buffet. For meat eater, you can eat as much as you want here, beef and chicken are served non stop here. My friends and I even ate till our tummy might explode any second (LOL), I had trouble walking with the full tummy because of this -_-

I might come here again for another fight with the food cause I hadn't taste all the food being served here. Wait for my another visit !

FOODIES !! I welcome you back again to our blog :D

First, I want to apologize for the long absent (actually only for 5 days LOL), we are having our last semester exams right now, so the time to write is decreasing a lil bit, but we will keep the blog working :)

Today's review will talk about a restaurant which we had visited months ago, but at least it's worth to review, so here's one !

The restaurant is called "NOMZ !" located at the East Mall of Grand Indonesia. A little info about the restaurant, its owner is Chef Arnold Poernomo. Well, if you ever watch Master Chef Indonesia, I think you know who he is.

The first time I knew him was on the TV show, he came as the guest star and cooked a risotto.

Even I still remember the jury in the show said that he is a great chef because he keeps his station clean and neat.

Back to the topic...

Vincent said that he wanted to try this restaurant cause of the background from the owner and the coziness, so we agreed and entered.

When we were given the menu list, we were quite confused on what to order, including me, the fish dishes were quite plenty and I had a dilemma to choose which one hahaha...

As usual, we spent couple minutes to perfectly ready on our choice and here's what we ordered

Sadly, you can't see the fish clearly because of the dressings LOL.... I tried to put aside them, but it didn't look quite appealing, so I put it back again hahaha..

In my opinion, this dish was PERFECT. Well, for me.

The fish was cooked perfectly and didn't smell fishy. The fried dumpling was delicious too ! It was flavorful and crunchy. The dressings, I didn't eat them :| hahaha. Btw, this dish was served with a bowl of rice too.

What I liked the most was the sauce, the soy sauce. Dip it with the fish and ate them with a spoonful of rice. OHHHHH...... It's like heaven ! It made me thinking of eating a Chinese cuisine :D

For fish lover, I might say this dish is really recommend, if you want to try !

The meat was quite big but sadly, it was too greasy. Pressed on it and all the oil came out -__-

The sauces tasted like usual sauce, nothing quite special from them.

Onion Rings, tasted bland. My friend even put chili sauce on top of them.

I will write my review about this, but I will show you first what he says about his dish :

I am not even sorry to say this and once again, this review is my honest and MY OPINION. This dish really disappoint me. Let me break it down. First. It's the worst garnishing ever that I can expect from a restaurant located at the mall especially like this one which I expect more, remembering that the owner is one of the considered as the best chef in Indonesia.

I can't believe that they serve this 'kerupuk' (crackers) that usually Indonesian people serve in the Street's Food, like Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice) or Ketoprak which only cost about 10K rupiah. With respect and no offense for the Street's Food sellers, there are a lot of amazing food on the street's side in Indonesia. Imagine that and then you go to a restaurant at a mall, expecting a good, beautiful and tasteful dishes, then BAM ! There goes my money. Gone with high disappointment.

I tasted it and Thank God, It tasted a little better than it looked. But.. To be honest again, it had nothing special about it too. They used a fried egg alongside the wagyu beef and sauce that from my guessing, made from tomato sauce and a little bit of chili. The beef's texture was good. But again, COME ON !! I'm sure they can do a lot better on the garnishing and that is obviously not a 'mall-restaurant dish' quality garnishing.

I don't know if they want to make this dish looks like a roadside dish sensation at a fine dining restaurant like this one or not, but I don't get it, really I don't.

Well... Crazy Beef Rice. Makes Me CRAZYYYY....... !!!

By the look, I might not have my appetite anymore. The price is expensive yet the dish looks unappealing.

The sauce, my taste bud said it was kind of BBQ sauce, and it was too sweet. You can't even eat it without rice, I guarantee that. Even though the beef tasted good to me, but if I have to compare it with the price, it really isn't worth.

My rate to this dish is same. 4.0 / 10

Ordered a light bites dish, calamari. MY FAVORITE !!!

Taste usual like others, a deep fried calamari. The difference was this one had a salty flavor a little bit which was okay to me.

Overall, this restaurant is good to hang out, and we were already so full that time, so we decided not to have some dessert anymore which according to some sources, they served some pretty good dessert and sweet tooth. But never mind, we might visit here again some time :D

Hey guys, what's up !

So, i'm going to write a review of a restaurant that also a member of, again, Ismaya Group. We came to this restaurant with very high-expectation since we knew that Ismaya Group have many high-quality and some stunning gourmet-y restaurants.

SushiGroove have several outlets in Jakarta. They have outlets located at TA, MKG, PIM, GI, Setiabudi One and even at PVJ Bandung. So we decided to go to the nearest from our place, to Taman Anggrek Mall. Located at the 4th level. And as from the name, i guess you guys know damn well that they, of course, served Japanese Cuisine.

I have nothing to say about the place, because all the furniture and interior seems like usual Japanese restaurant. So, we sat and checked at the menu, they served plenty kinds of food apart from sushi, they got donburi, soba, udon, sashimi, salad, and bibimbap.

We ordered a lot of food. Below are what we ordered :

Salmon Mentaiko Nigiri

The waiter recommended this, he said that this is their favorite and best seller dish. So we went for it. The salmon is already cooked and served with mentaiko sauce on top. Too bad, when i tasted it, it's not that delicious. I don't know how that can became their best seller. The mentaiko is the main problem. Usually mentaiko is made from marinated pollock and cod fish, but i think that they put some wasabi in it and the wasabi flavor covered up the whole mentaiko flavor. So it's tasted just like salmon nigiri and wasabi.

Salmon Nigiri

Well, this one is very common nigiri. It's better than the Salmon Mentaiko Nigiri though. But nothing too special from this nigiri, it tasted good but usual good. They used the fresh salmon on this one.

Princess Roll

Baked Tuna and Sauce on top

This is a sushi roll, since we ordered a lot of salmon dish, we went for tuna for this. Sushi with baked tuna and dream sauce on top. I don't know what is dream sauce. But it went well with the baked tuna. It tasted quite good.

Crunchy Munchy Roll

with

Crab Meat, Tempura Flakes and Salmon Patty

Another sushi roll, contained crab, and again, salmon in patty style. It tasted awesome, the tempura flakes makes it crunchy a little. The crab and the salmon mixed together was perfect.

Salmon Maki

Delicious and simple but nothing too special from this. Sometimes, i like to dip the sushi to soy sauce. It gave a little salty flavor to it.

Tuna Maki

Another delicious and simple dish, Tuna Sushi. But i prefer the salmon maki though.

Tako Karaage

Deep fried baby octopus with teriyaki sauce and some slaw under it. Perfect dish for appetizer and sharing. Flavor is nice, crunchy and a bit spicy.

Chicken Curry Bibimbap

At first, i thought it's funny to find a bibimbap in a Japanese restaurant since bibimbap is usually found at Korean restaurant. But one of my friend who also came with us here said that their bibimbap is actually delicious. So we ordered Chicken Curry Bibimbap and Beef Mozu Bibimbap. Well, finally i ate something that special from this restaurant. Chicken Curry Bibimbap, recommended dish for everyone. There is a katsuobushi on top. Katsuobushi or what we called usually is bonito flakes which is a dancing flakes usually seen in takoyaki , in case you don't know. And there were also tempura flakes on top of the bibimbap and it smelled really good. The rice was perfect. The curry tasted awesome and the chicken too. Best dish for us in this restaurant.

Beef Mozu Bibimbap

Another bibimbap that we ordered, contained enoki mushroom on top, and egg yolk in the middle, We mixed all of the ingredients before we ate it. Strange though that the flavor was almost like Chinese Fried Rice, but it's delicious. But i prefer the chicken curry bibimbap, they are better in my opinion. Well this one is recommended for you guys too. :D

To sum it up, apart from the Chicken Curry Bibimbap and Beef Mozu Bibimbap which i highly recommend, all the sushi that we ate are pretty much a common sushi and tasted good and nothing special too.

As I said yesterday on the post of Pizza E Birra. Today I will review the neighbor of it, KITCHENETTE.

Little info of it. They are both in the same group named Ismaya Group which focus on hospitality (restaurants). There are still many the others, the reviews will come out about the other members of Ismaya Group (hope so lol).

Since it's stood beside Pizza E Birra, the place have almost the same atmosphere.

The differences are KITCHENETTE serves many type of foods (pasta, fish dishes, etc) while Pizza E Birra focuses on pizza.

In my visiting that time, I was coming with quite a few people, so the orders were quite many too

The place was crowded and luckily we only need to wait for couple minutes to get our table and during our visiting, there was a DJ there to play some mashup songs, maybe that's why it was crowded. The songs were great too ! Sometimes, there are some live band playing too :D

We spent some times on the menu and we ordered these.

As I said in the posts before, most of my order would be a fish dish cause I like fish very much. Here's one right now.

The fish was cooked to perfect and didn't smell fishy at all. Really delicious ! All the food in the plate was seasoned beautifully and yummy. The Spinach was creamy and even didn't taste bitter.

There was sauteed string beans on it too and it really tasted good too ! Overall, all the ingredients on the plate really fit my taste buds.

Next, the chicken.

When I tasted the chicken, at first, I thought the breast part would be difficult to eat or even cut because by the look, it was quite meaty. But when I ate it, it didn't taste like what I had thought, the chicken meat was so moist and delicious. The seasoning was perfect.

The potato gratin, it was quite hard to slice. We thought it was a pineapple but when we tried to cut it and tasted. It was potato. Not really delicious though.

Fish and Chips. What do you guys think ? "Ahh.. It all tastes the same, fish dipped in floor and fried to brown color".

Let me tell you this. This KITCHENETTE's Fish and Chips is the best that I had tried among other restaurants' (in my opinion). Want to know why ?

This one was ! The fish fried with the seasoned flour tasted really delicious. I might finish 2 of it. Wanna bet ? LOL..... The fish really tasted the best, my dish even lost its power when compared with this dish. The meat was moist and flavorful. Even the chips, the fries were delicious too. I guessed it was all because of the ingredients the chefs used.

We saw on the menu written "Sweet Crepes" with the name mostly girls's name and we were curious of it, so we ordered couple desserts to end our dinner that night.

The crepe was so delicious ! I MEANT IT ! The crepe was thin yet when you ate it....... Sorry I can't describe it anymore. It really tasted good LOL..

Our co-author actually ordered this one, but I ate some of his to try how it tasted.

At first, both of us were asking to each other whether any of us wanted the banana (both didn't like banana lol), but when he tried the banana. He said "Hey, it's delicious ! I'm gonna eat them B-)". After he said it, I took a piece of the banana and ate it.

The taste ? Since I didn't like banana. I'm just gonna say that the banana was great ! It tasted sweet and moist.

The crepe tasted like the one above. Not gonna rewrite it again LOL.

The cheese cake tasted good. It had a little sweet and salty taste, but when I ate it with the oreo and crepe. It's really the best.

ANOTHER SUGGESTION : Not a cheese lover, don't eat this alone. Even I'm a cheese lover, after finish eating this, my stomach was bloated -_-

Nutella Mousse Cake

This dessert was the best out of the best from my other one above.

At first, I asked the waiter of what's the favorite dessert there. He answered this as this cake was newcomers. So I ordered one.

Despite I didn't like any kinds of nuts, I tried it cause I was craving for cake when I saw some of them were displayed beside the cashier.

First bite..... It tasted HEAVEN.... I didn't taste any nuts ! Pure chocolate, and chocolate mousse with the whipped cream above. The waiter lied maybe ? Because on the menu it was written a nutella cake. Well, nutella is made from hazelnut, but hey, it's nutella, everybody likes them including me who hates nut pretty much.

Just a few bites and I had finished the whole slice, except one. The lower layer where the cake stood. I didn't know what it was, it looked like a cracker. I tried it.

When I tasted it, I know it must be the nut because the nut smell was so strong in my mouth. Argh...... I might need to eat this alone I thought :|. Fortunately, my friend wanted it so I gave it to him to eat with the cake :)

Truth to be told, I wanted to order another slice again since it really tasted so good. The reason I didn't do it was because of the price. In my opinion, the price for a slice of this cake was too expensive. (Saying it was expensive, but I might buy the whole cake for my birthday LOL)

Overall, this restaurant is really worth to visit. Not only once, but many times cause the food it serves are all good and affordable.

What will happen if you are given options to choose between left and right and both are heading to different restaurants ? Well, it happened to me.

My first time coming, the waitress asked me which restaurant I wanted to enter, quite confusing since I thought it was the same. I entered both but not on the same day LOL. The first was going to the left one.

As the first name has been shown. It's Pizza, so of course you know what it means. Yes ! This restaurant serve savory pizza as main course or even for dessert. I will show them to you later :D

A little info, this restaurant is located at Central Park, same as Luciole (You can read the review here.). Now, what I mean about the "left and right" is this. This restaurant stands together with another restaurant named KITCHENETTE (the review will out tomorrow. Stay Tuned B-)).

Imagined this, you and your parent's room are next to each other. When you are bored, you walk out from your room and enter your parent's, you just need only a minute right ? This happens here too ! You walk out and you enter its neighborhood, then you are at the different restaurant LOL.

We came on Monday and it was crowded, maybe because of the beer promo, but we managed to get a table for us.

The place is cozy, but for non smokers, you might not like the place very much. Smokers and non smokers sit at the same room inside the restaurant, they do separate the area but not with anything like wall or something, and still we can smell the damn smoke in the open air. But they do have a outdoor smoking area though.

On our visiting, luckily the area we sat didn't have much smokers.

We asked the waitress what pizza was popular or favorite to the customers and she answered this one, so we ordered so.

The pizza tasted good, for the topping : chicken, it was less than expectation. Only saw few pieces of the chicken meat -_-. The problem was within the sour cream. As we were waiting for the pizzas to come out, we ordered a side dish in order to spend the time on the waiting.

The fries tasted usual like the other restaurants serve. The sauce tasted like the one use on pizzas. For the cheese, it was topped only on the upper layer, so if we took the lower part, there was no cheese at all. PURE FRIES which I couldn't enjoy the cheese :(

As side dish, this meal was quite enjoyable.

Before we entered the restaurant. We saw an announcement that on every Monday, they had a promo on the Beers, so we ordered them.

The one we called, as I read the price. During the promo, you can order almost 3 glasses to meet the price on the other days than Monday. I mean, 1 glass of the beer on Tuesday - Sunday equals to 3 glasses on Monday.

The easiest explanation : the price on this Beer was cut to one third :)

The promo for the Beer changes every Monday so you might get the promo on your favorite beer.

Today's review will take place the same as the last one, I mean the latest one here.

In the last review, it was a dinner, but this one I call it the snack time before the dinner. I guess, our snack time has changed from hanging out at Starbucks turn to visiting restaurants we haven't before LOL.

Here's the place.

This restaurant is located at the Upper Ground of Gandaria City and its specialty is on the Churro dishes.

At first, we were thinking on visiting La Hoya to try the tacos, but then I gave a suggestion on trying this one since I saw the dishes were quite attractive. Btw, I never even eat a churro before, so I was anticipating this so much :D

That day, noon actually, we chose to sit outside, the balcony cause we thought it was still not crowded, only couple tables were filled and the outside was still empty, no smokers B-).

The place was comfortable and really suitable for people to hang out, example : us LOL.

The waitress gave the menu list and we chose the meals after couple minutes.

The churro dish. I really enjoyed it !

The churro itself, it's crunchy and chewy but not as chewy as the meat that can't break by chewing. It's my first time, so I found it to fit my expectation.

Here's the problem, in the menu list, it shown a picture that the churro could be dipped into the drinks (Espresso, Coffee) but we didn't know that. We didn't know what to do with the espresso shot. May I just pour the espresso to the plate (I did it actually) ? So... I poured it anyway hahaha.

The espresso was bitter since it was indeed a strong coffee, but when I ate the churro with the other ingredients, it was delicious ! The cheese, espresso and a lil bit of cocoa powder just made the churro and lady fingers taste really good. The lady fingers were crunchy at first, but it weren't anymore when I poured the espresso, but still worth to taste.

Don't take the wrong look, the espresso was the one that was placed at the plate together with the churro. The one above the dish was the beverage we ordered.

It's Royale Chocolate.

It tasted pure chocolate, and it was so thick that after one sip, you will want another sip cause of the smell, but you must provide a glass of water after finishing this beverage. It makes you thirsty at the throat. I MEAN IT.

The mousse was yummy. Took a scoop and combined it with the berries and it tasted so so so good.......

Except one thing.

The mousse was too freezing cold, I really need to use power to scoop it out and it caused a noise when the spoon clashed with the plate -_-. Really not an enjoyable time. And because of the freezing, the chocolate tasted a little bit bland, no sweetness in it, but as I say above, combine it with the berries and it tastes good or maybe better.

It tasted of bland water. The lemon and strawberries, sour smell didn't even come out. I didn't know what to say after drinking this. Really regretting the choice but actually the good thing about this beverage was, I didn't feel any thirst again after sipping this one. At least, that's quite the advantage of this beverage.

Overall, this place is perfect to spend time with friends and families. The churros' dishes are delicious and I think the cake will taste good too (I didn't get the opportunity to taste them -_-).

Today, I will review my first time ever tasting this cuisine. It's KOREAN :D

It has been in my mind on wanting to try this cuisine when I watch a popular variety show in Korea.

So I had it last Saturday, I went to this place with my usual partners in crime and the others. It was quite crowded on that day especially on the dinner time. Here's the place :

The restaurant is located right at the Ground Floor of Gandaria City Mall. From the lobby, when you enter the mall, walk straight and you will find this restaurant already. It's really easy to find !

The interior is quite beautiful since its main material is wood and make the place seems so cozy and perfect for families to gather and have lunch or dinner together. The restaurant is very clean and doesn't smell despite it's specialty is grilled. I found out that they use kitchen hoods on every table so the smoke will be sucked by the hood and doesn't left any smell around. It's really so convenient !

The waiters and waitresses are all so friendly, they answered all our questions about the restaurant's favorite food. I thought that night, the owner herself was there sitting at the cashier. She can speak Indonesia fluently. How niceee........

For the price, this restaurant is really not recommended for students cause it's quite expensive. Maybe because of the luxurious food it serves.

After spent couple minutes, we had decided what to order for our dinner. So here's the pictures :

Quite many huh (we were just 3 people) ? The table even was full of the food that we were confused to find some space to put another plates. Might as well open another table reserve for us hahaha. Btw, we didn't order that much actually LOL, some of the food were actually served with the others. I mean, whatever meal you order, these dish will come out together as the side dishes.

Here's the side dishes I'm talking about :

2. (middle left) : Korean pickled cucumber

3. (bottom left) : Seasoned Eggplant (Gaji Namul)

4. (middle top) : Kimchi

All the side dishes tasted good, most of them. The kimchi, it was sweet. I didn't know if it tasted so, or it had been changed to fit with Indonesian's taste bud, but I enjoyed it indeed. The seasoned eggplant, well, it tasted bland to me, like an eggplant with no seasoning, but actually it was quite good when you eat it with the lettuce. Wrap all these to the lettuce just like how Korean eat them.

I didn't eat the pickled cucumber, but one of my friends tried it and said that it wasn't delicious. It tasted weird to him LOL. For the daikon, all of us didn't even want to think on trying it, it smelled so bad that our whole table smelled like this daikon. We even put it to the corner as far from us.

At Chung Gi Wa, they give you choices on the grilling :

We chose the 2nd option. We asked the waitress to grill the meat for us (save our energy) LOL...

The tenderloin, it was meaty (that's good for a meat). Sadly, it was too dry and tasted bland, so we had to dip it to the sauce and added some spices to the meat to enjoy eating it. I wrapped it to the lettuce, so it tasted good for me.

The waitress told us that this meat is the favorite one at Chung Gi Wa, so we ordered one.

The taste was AWESOME...

It was juicy and smelled so good. I could still see the lard coming out from the meat. You don't need to add anything to this meat cause it already tasted good. Trust me, it is. Even though it came by 3 slices and the waitress had cut it to small pieces, my friends and I still couldn't have enough on the meat. If it wasn't expensive, we might as well order another slices of this.

Brisked Special Korea

It was written as "Brisked Special Korea" on the menu, but actually it was Marinated Beef. This one, it was the best of all the best above. It had been marinated with special sauce and when I tasted it, the sweetness from the sauce and the juicy of the meat, it was PERFECT. The beef was cut to thin slices so with just one bite, and the beef would break easily.

I suggest if you ever want to try to eat here, order Ogyopsal and this. You will leave with happy tummy :D

Spicy Stir Fried Squid

We really didn't intend to order this at the first place. It was happened when the other customers sat beside us ordered this dish. My friend and I saw it and both of us thought it was delicious judging by the look, so we ended up asking the waitress of what dish it was and ordered one too.

For me, this dish wasn't worth it. It tasted bland again to me, and the squid, it was so little compare to the big plate. What I found the most was the vegetables inside, white cabbage, carrot, onion. It was served with white noodles and dipped with the sauce, and yet it all tasted bland again -_-

Overall, this place is enjoyable. Unfortunately, the price doesn't quite fit with student's pocket like us. What I like about the restaurant is how the waiters serve the customers. They are all friendly and skillful. Our meat dishes were cooked perfectly. Imagine if we grilled it ourselves, it would taste worse i guess. It's worth to visit here once if you haven't.

WARUNG MISBAR - Bandung

Hello again my fellow foodies !

This is the last restaurant that we visit on our recent trip to Bandung.

A short review of this awesome Indonesian traditional restaurant.

Warung Misbar located at Jalan RE Martadinata or the people over there calls it Jalan Riau. Very strategic place for a restaurant, reason is alongside the street of Jalan Riau, there are a lot of Factory Outlets, mostly famous one like Heritage, Summit, or The Secret. Many people stop by this restaurant to have lunch before continuing shopping, including me.

A little travel guide for you guys who are also a shopaholic like me, you should go to this street, but the best Factory Outlet is still Rumah Mode at Jalan Setiabudi for me.

Back to this restaurant. The exterior of the restaurant is actually designed like 90's Movie Theater, which gives the whole exterior looks kinda old.

This restaurant served Indonesian Cuisine with Warung Style. It's more like self-service, you take your own plate, and then you just take any food you'd like to eat, some are still raw though, so the waitress will take it to cooked it for you. If you think about it again, it's more like a buffet style but not with all-you-can-eat offer, funny though, to think like that. After you take whatever food you want, then you go to the cashier and then they will gives you list of foods that you took, and later you'll have to give the list to the cashier to pay it.

Also, inside there's a big screen with old Indonesian Movies playing like the famous comedy show "Warkop", and a painted legendary Indonesian Actor on the wall like Deddy Mizwar, or Dono-Kasino-Indro themselves. This explains the exterior.

So i took my own plate, there's a few kinds of rice, like usual steamed white rice, nasi liwet, and else. Nasi Liwet is actually tasted like nasi lemak or nasi uduk, so i chose that.

Next, i chose fried chicken which the waitress said it's still raw and they take it to fry it.

Then, my favorite dish at warung, Telur Dadar (Omelette) and Sliced Chili Potatoes and Perkedel. If you don't know perkedel, it's actually derived from Dutch Frikandel, also a potato. I know i already took potatoes, but i just can't help it, it's one of my favorite dish at warung.

There's a lot more food to take, plenty of fishes with different styles of sauce, many kinds of satay. But i think i had enough, potatoes and rice, that's a lot of carbs. :D

Then i go to the cashier, and i got the list and it's time to enjoy my food !

Nasi Liwet

with

Fried Chicken, Sliced Chili Potatoes, Omelette, and Perkedel

I like their nasi liwet, tasted good. Nasi Liwet is usually steamed with water, coconut milk, salam leaves, lemongrass and spices. Sometimes i ate Nasi Liwet that put too much lemongrass and spices, so i taste kinda strange yet a bit sour. Theirs is just perfect, they put the ingredients with fitted portion.

The fried chicken though, nothing special, just like usual traditional Indonesian Fried Chicken, fried with spices.

Telur Dadar, Sliced Chili Potatoes and Perkedel all tasted good and better than usual Warung's.

Also don't forget to take the Sambal Terasi. :D

Daun Ubi

This is another traditional Indonesian Food. Daun Ubi with a soup that made from Coconut Milk. It tasted rather flavorless because they didn't put too much coconut milk for the soup, which is sometimes a good thing because that's not very good for health. But the daun ubi is very good though.

This place is recommended medium rate price restaurant that served Traditional Indonesian Cuisine at Bandung.

When we're traveling to Bandung we use this awesome car. Eventhough Toyota Agya is small car. The power it can produce can't be underestimated. Even with full passengers, it can pass the steep road easily. It passes all the obstacles ahead. Truly dont ever underestimate a small things especially this car.

JAVANA BISTRO - Paris Van Java Bandung

Again, i will write a review of one of the restaurant that we visited when we were at Bandung.

Javana Bistro, located at Paris Van Java. At Paris Van Java, you can find many of the restaurants here in Jakarta like SushiGroove, Zenbu, and many else. So we went to a restaurant we never heard before in Jakarta. Then we chose Javana Bistro.

Place is outside the mall facing the parking lot. We chose the table for outdoor's smoking area because it seems quite quiet inside the non-smoking area, we were looking for some noise, so outdoor it is to get the atmosphere.

This restaurant is well decorated in my opinion, it's more like coffee shop yet perfect place for dinner.

I knew it from the name, their specialty is Indonesian cuisine but i asked the waiter anyway. He said we should try their Sop Buntut, the oxtail can be served with 4 ways: regular style, fried, barbequed, curry. So me and one of my friend went with that. Mine is fried, he chose barbequed.

A bowl of the soup and then a plate of rice and the fried oxtail with emping and few slices of tomato. I tasted the soup first. There are potatoes, carrots and tomatoes in the soup. The soup is too salty. Not good. Then i see that the oxtail looks kinda black-ish from the sauce. So basically, they fried the oxtail and then they poured the sweet black sauce on it. I tasted the oxtail. The meat is too chewy. If you imagine that the oxtail would taste good with the soup, well it's not. I tried my friend's barbecued oxtail but it didn't taste any difference, tastes just the same. I didn't really like it.

This one is not Indonesian cuisine, it's American. Quite a small portion honestly. A medium piece of salmon and mascarpone mash. Mascarpone is Italian cheese with vinegar or lemon.

The salmon, it was cooked perfectly, the seasosing was good too. For the sauce, it really didn't taste delicious at all, the sauce was made from wasabi and mayonnaise. Damn ! It sucks. Really.

The mascarpone mash was good. It's yummy and the texture was soft. Meanwhile, for the organic spinach, it was a little bitter.

This one tasted just alright, nothing special. Just like usual pasta with bechamel sauce. In case you don't know, bechamel sauce is a sauce that made from milk and roux.

Cheap car but filled with quite high tech ? Plus a spacious luggage area ? Why not ? Toyota Agya has all of them ! Music player has been using the newest technology that some cars still haven't developed yet. And of course even if it's a small car, the luggage area is quite spacious, passengers can pack a lot of things on it.

Today I want to review a place which I went to with my friends when we were at Bandung. Just for information, we walked by foot almost an hour to reach here since we thought it would be near the place we were visiting before this place. IT WASN'T. Two of my friends even had battle scars because of this hahahaha. I'm joking btw, their legs just hurt because of the long walk.

First time visiting Bandung, still didn't know anything, so we used to walk by foot a lot -_-. Next time would never do something like this anymore. It's really wasting our time and energy.

We couldn't take picture of the restaurant since it was raining the time we came, it was dark too so it is kind of hard to take pictures inside the restaurant too. Argh... So unlucky...........

The place is cozy and for people who like to spend time with their friends chit chatting, this place is really recommended ! We almost spent 2 - 3 hours not because of chit chatting, but to recharge our energy plus the raining weather, so we ended up waiting and talking about places we wanted to visit next :p

For the food, my friend told me their specialty is steak. Here's the pictures and review of the dishes we ordered.

I ordered this one. Simple yet delicious !

The steak, I ordered it to be well done. The result ? I really liked it. It was juicy and easy to cut using the knife. The tomato sauce and grated cheese were good combinations with the steak.

For the potato wedges, well, it tasted like usual wedges you can find in any outlet. Nothing quite special :)

Now, the broccoli with cheese sauce. This one is really a yummy side dish ! I wasn't a fan of vegetables before, but it had changed when I moved to Jakarta, so something like this is nothing to me. I thought it would taste different since it served with cheese sauce. Broccoli with Cheese ? Will it taste good ? That's what I kept thinking when I saw the dish. So I tasted it anyway (my motto : finish all the food in the plate that have been served to you).

It was GREAT !! The broccoli was cooked to a soft texture which I never had tasted before. Usually the broccoli I ate, it was still hard, It's tired just to chew it. The cheese sauce, well, it was cheese, but not cheese. I mean, when you smell it, it is cheese, but when you taste it together with the broccoli, the cheese is gone, change into something like mayonnaise, but they were a good combinations.

I tasted some of the ingredients and here's my opinion.

The steak was well done, same as mine, so there's nothing to describe about the meat.

The sauce, it was a bordelaise sauce. From what i know that it's a sauce made with red wine. Well, I don't know if this sauce is the same with the wikipedia one, because when I tasted the sauce, in my opinion, it was a mushroom sauce :|

You know how it tastes right ? It's sweet. ONLY SWEET.

The lyonnaise potatoes, pan seared potatoes and onions. This one, it tasted good, nothing special about it. I preferred mine rather than his potatoes hahaha (sorry bro !). It tasted bland to me, He likes it though.

For the cauliflower, he didn't eat it, so I did. It tasted like my broccoli, but this one, the cauliflower had sweet taste on it, so with the sauce, it tasted good for me.

My friend ordered this after we saw the "Chef's Recommendation Menu".

In my opinion, this one was the best out of the 2 dishes above us (lucky him).

The steak was cooked in medium rare. It was juicy and slightly softer than our meat. With the mushroom sauce (this one really was mushroom sauce), the taste was GOOD............

The hash brown potatoes were delicious. They had the sweet and salty taste.

Spinach was okay. Nothing special from it.

I didn't know why but the menu didn't write the description perfectly, as you can see, the dish had vegetables and small thin slices of beef. They tasted good. The vegetables were cooked with sweet taste and the portion for this dish was enough for a person to eat.

Overall, this dish was better than others that we had.

Review about Toyota Agya :

Though the car looks small, actually the 2nd row seats can accommodate 3 people. At first, we thought it would make the passengers sit too tight too each other because of the small body size car and our big bodies. When we tried to get inside, we were wrong. The space was perfectly fit for us, no more nor less space for another passengers to sit (exact 3 people). Toyota Agya really is a convenient car !

We had just finished our short holiday to Bandung. 3D2N at there seems so short for us but it's enjoyable. That's why we will share our happiness to all of you too :D

For the next couple days, we will review about the places we went at Bandung. Hope you enjoy it !

Here's the first one.

On our trip to Bandung, we visited one famous restaurant at Lembang. Located at a plateau called Lembang, Bandung. Precisely, their location is inside a housing complex called Graha Puspa Lembang.

Short story about Sapu Lidi, it is created by Indonesian culinary & resort entrepreneur named Bob Doank. Their tag line is "Makan di Sawah", in english it means eating at rice field. They also got Hotel Resort with traditional yet luxury exterior.

Place is really calm and really quiet. Plus, with fresh cold mountain air breeze, it's really relaxing here. The traditional Indonesian wooden interior inside the restaurant made the place looks and feels like we're sitting in a big hut in the middle of rice field in the beautiful village.

This restaurant served Indonesian Cuisine. Some are common, some are not. So we asked the waitress what's people's favorite dish here. The waitress recommend us a Ikan Nila Bakar Daun khas Sapu Lidi, Ayam Kahaseupan, and we also ordered Terong ala Sawah and Kangkung Polos.

Ikan Nila Bakar Daun Khas Sapu Lidi

The first and also the best dish that came to our table was this. The fish is grilled and wrapped with banana's leaf. Smells really good, the sauce, red and green chili covering the fish. We tasted it. The fish was perfectly cooked, the seasoning spice mixed very well with the fish and the chili gave it a little spicy, not too much. The sauce is made with tomato, minced red and green chili, and spices. That made the fish tasted sweet yet a bit spicy.

Ayam Kahaseupan

This smoked chicken also smells really great. Served with green sambal, and lalapan. Cooked with spices like turmeric, galangal and a bit ginger made it taste good and smells nice. Soft texture and crispy skin from the chicken.

Terong ala Sawah

Eggplant is a very common yet famous in the world of Indonesian Cuisine. It is one of my favorite too. So, we ordered this dish. This eggplant really impressed me. It tasted good. The Eggplant is fried with what we called in Indonesian 'Balado'. Balado is a sauce that made from minced chili, and various spices. It is crispy, sweet and spicy on every bite.

Kangkung Polos

This is also one very famous and common food in Indonesia. The kangkung served with garlic. Really plain like the dish's name. Delicious, but nothing special though.

Ikan Nila Goreng Sambal Hijau

We're addicted to the fish. So we ordered another one but with different sauce. This time is green chili. The fish is deep fried with green chili. Very spicy and crispy. Not as good as the first Ikan Nila Bakar Daun khas Sapu Lidi though.

This restaurant really impressed us and we made sure to visit again next time when we go traveling to Bandung.

Review about Toyota Agya :

Toyota Agya is really an economical car. Since we are still students and we want to get cheaper price on transportation, we really get one ! We only need to spend affordable price on the fuel and we already could go to most of the famous attractions in Bandung. I guess the name LCGC (Low Cost and Green Car) for the car really has been proven. Keep improving !

Hey Foodies !

So, this time i'll write a review of a burger place called Fatburger. Located at Senayan City Jakarta. Originally, Fatburger is from USA. And they have a few outlets here in Jakarta. There's one at Plaza Indonesia, and there's one at Pondok Indah Mall.

Actually, i've been wanted to try their burger since the first time i go to Senayan City back when i just moved from Medan to Jakarta. I am curious to be honest, since i personally is a burger fan, i want to find out what's the difference between their burger and other fast-food restaurant's burger.

And a few days ago, i finally have the chance. I went there with friends. Although main reason is to have dinner at Senayan City, we went to this place before dinner anyway. We, Medanese have a big appetite LOL.

Triple Fatburger

So we go straight for Triple Fatburger, which means 3 layers of beef patties. I actually want to go for Quad Fatburger but then i changed my mind, save some space for dinner.

It's quite a big bite. Patties are soft, tender and juicy, it's well cooked. Well, about the other, no comment, taste usual. Overall, i think this burger is just slightly better than common fast-food restaurant's burger. What makes it slightly better though, is the patty for me, i liked this one better because it's juicy, not dry like fast-food restaurant's burger. Well, Stephen (blog's co-author) said he doesn't really like it haha.

About the fries, they let you choose when you're ordering, they have different kind of fries, like curly fries, skinny fries which is also french fries, and there is fat fries, like skinny fries but fatter haha. And then they'll also let you choose the flavor for the fries, there are cheese, barbeque. We chose cheese. Well, no comment about the fries too, taste just like usual fries.

Today, I will review about a new place, new restaurant. That's the first time i went there.

This time I want you to guess the place, where it is stood actually since the photo has shown you the place's name.

Do you know where is it ?

Here's the answer.

It's located at the Lower Ground of the mall. You can find it at the Crystal Lagoon, where some other restaurants stand together there too, surrounding a small pond outside the lower ground's area.

The name of the restaurant is Carlo de Huts.

I was with my friends that night. We decided to try here since we heard about their favorite and popular dishes.

First, I will tell you about the place. The location is strategic, for smokers, they can sit outside and enjoy the night with a live music. The group band sing for all the visitors at the area actually, they sit right beside the small pond to entertain the customers on all the restaurants in this area.

We booked a reservation since it was full that time. After couple minutes, we ordered our meals.

This was my order since this was the recommendation from the waiter.

Description about the taste. Well, I enjoyed it, it tasted like a spaghetti carbonara, the portion was quite big. The garlic bread was crunchy and the capers were delicious too, it was salty by the way. The sauce was nice and creamy.

What I didn't like about this was the components. The menu said it's a Salmon spaghetti, but what I found was just a slice of thin Salmon's meat out on top of the dish. The rest was some plenty beef's meat that had cut to small pieces.

This dish, it was delicious. The oxtail was cooked perfectly and so juicy. The sauce was sweet and had a little spicy flavor, there was a lot of meat on the sauce too. I might order this one on my next visit B-)

This dish was the best out of the rest above.

We tasted it and we thought it was kind of a spaghetti aglio olio. It indeed tasted like one, but the differences were on the components. With the addition of prawns, black olives and chili, made the spaghetti tasted spicy and tasteful.

I didn't know if they were king prawns cause they looked so tiny (shrimp?) LOL

FACT

Carlo de Huts is famous for its dessert course.

Kumpir is one of its specialty, but sadly we couldn't order one since it was out of order, so we ordered other one which took our attention.

It is a Dutch Baby Pancake which is made with eggs, sugar, flour and milk.

It tasted really GOOD. I liked it the most out of the other. The sausage was meaty and while eating it with the sunny side up egg and the melted cheese, it combined perfectly as it was a luxurious meal (for me).

What surprised me was the pancake. When I used the knife to slice it, it cut smoothly. I looked at the pancake and saw that it kind of made from egg since the texture looked like from egg, not like other pancake's ingredients. The pancake tasted delicious and creamy, maybe because of the milk.

We heard this place is popular for the beverages too. We read on the menu and it is called Butter Beer. Here's the look :

Hogwarts' Butter Beer

The drink was AWESOME. The sweetness from the butter mix with the beer was totally amazing. When I tasted it, I thought it was fruity smell but then I remembered about the menu's name, so it was the butter actually.

Sadly, the barista gave too less on the drinks, we got only 2/3 beer on the glass (couldn't enjoy with it). Plus, I made an accident with it. I put in a straw and tried to stir it, but I didn't know I mustn't do that. What happened ? IT SPILLED -__-

All the butter foam spilled out and I had to drink some to stop it. At the end, I only got half the beer because of the incident (unlucky). Anyway, it tasted like sarsaparilla.

Overall, we (my friends and I) enjoyed this place even though there is nothing too special from this place, we might visit here again once since we couldn't try the Kumpir dishes. Hope next time we could order one :)

Ladies and gentlemen !

This time i'm going to review another great coffee shop. It is Monolog Coffee. Location is at Plaza Senayan. Currently, they have 2 outlet here in Jakarta. The other one is at Street Gallery, Pondok Indah Mall.

It's rather hard to find Monolog at Plaza Senayan if you never see them or never been there before. It's located near parking lot to be precise, it's between one of the mall's car drop-off location and the parking lot. Place is across De Luca Cafe. Technically, they're outside the mall.

Pretty crowded place on weekdays and weekends. Great coffee place and also becoming trending brunch spot nowadays in Jakarta. Already brewing at 10 AM until 12 AM everyday.

Place is looking nice with wooden interior and also with comfortable sofa, wooden tables, wooden chairs and coffee bar. Also like other coffee shop, they got smoking area and non-smoking area. They served various kinds of food and drinks here. All-day breakfast meal, lunch, dinner, cakes and coffee of course. It's safe to say that this is one of the best coffee shop in Jakarta. Nice place for hang-out and chat too.

Actually what got me and my partner in crime or what you called 'friends' here are brunch and coffee. Since they are famous with both, so we paid them a visit.

We looked at the menu, and then we ordered one brunch meal and coffees.

Sunrise Breakfast Meal

2 Eggs (Omelette), Beef Bockwurst, Beef Ham, Garlic Fried Potato, Sauteed Mushroom

Whole Wheat Toast

Why did i choose this dish? Because reading from the description on the menu, it has everything i like. Egg? Yes, Fried Potato? Of course, Meat? ABSOLUTELY !. Almost forgot to mention sauteed mushroom and wheat toast.

Quite a big portion for a breakfast honestly, or even brunch for one people. So ladies, this is for sharing. LOL. So there are 2 kinds of meat here. There are beef bockwurst (sausage) and beef ham. And 2 eggs, and you can choose any style you want. Whether it's sunny side up, scrambled or omelette. We chose omelette.

So about the taste... hmm.. TASTY!

The sausage is perfect. The skins of sausage looked nice, texture was smooth and soft.

The ham just tasted good too, nicely cooked.

Fried Potato was okay, nothing special though.

Omelette, juicy, nicely cooked, taste fine.

Sauteed Mushroom, this one just impressed me ! They are surprisingly delicious. Soft texture and i can still taste the butter that made it so delicious and juicy.

Wheat Toast, nicely toasted, crunchy and served with of course, jam.

Overall, i'm satisfied with this dish.

Spiced Coffee Latte

Curiosity brought me to this coffee. Latte with spice. It smelled like cinnamon. The spices were poured on top of the coffee. At the first sip, it taste weird. But then, it taste better after i stirred it. So imagine latte with a little bit taste of cinnamon. This is how it tastes like.

Honestly, i like it though haha.

Hot Chocolate

Stephen didn't want any caffeine so he ordered hot chocolate.

The taste was good. Just like normal chocolate drinks, I guess, it was pure chocolate since the flavour was strong and i think maybe they didn't put any sugar. The sweetness came from the chocolate, not from sugar. Overall, it's a good drink.

Well, we just add this coffee shop to our Top Coffee Shop list !

We will make sure to visit Monolog again when we have chance.

DJOURNAL COFFEE - Grand Indonesia Jakarta (UPDATED)

Hi guys !

This time i'm going to review this amazing coffee shop called DJOURNAL COFFEE.

Located at Grand Indonesia. For me, this is one of the best coffee shop in town if it's not the best. Their coffee never failed to amaze me. Like the saying 'Good coffee, good day' right?

This coffee shop actually has 3 branches here in Jakarta, this one is at Grand Indonesia, the other two is at Cilandak Town Square and Puri Indah Mall. Never been to the other two. But been to the Grand Indonesia outlet a few good times.

First, about the place, it's a coffee bar, so in case you don't know what is a coffee bar, they have a bar but served coffee, not alcohol. You won't see the coffee bar from the outside of the cafe, because it's inside the cafe, actually it's right behind the coffee counter. Place is always crowded whether it's weekday or weekend. And this place of course like most of all cafe, have a non-smoking area and outdoor smoking area.

So one of the thing i like about this place is their place design, they make it somehow with wooden interior a very cozy place, at least from when i saw it. In fact, that's what got me to enter this coffee shop at the first place. I always like cozy cafe serving good drinks, who doesn't right?

PS: Place looks very beautiful at night from across the street outside the mall. :)

So, cut the story short, i get in line to order their coffee at the coffee counter. I ask the barista, what's their best coffee here? They said Caramel Macchiato and Salted Caramel. Well, Caramel Macchiato is actually pretty common in other coffee shop, but what is Salted Caramel? So i asked the barista, he said it's a coffee with caramel and with a little bit salt, so it'll taste a bit salty. Wow ! never taste something like that. So i ordered it. I was hungry too, so i ordered their recommended food from the barista also, Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Turkey Ham.

I just want to be honest, this is one of the best spaghetti i ever tasted in my life. I recommend you guys to try this dish if you go there.

Salted Caramel

Well, my curiousness of the uniqueness of this coffee has come to an end. I take the first sip, then the second sip, then the third. I just can't stop ! It was so GOOD ! Too good to be exact ! Like the barista said it taste a bit salty but it's delicious, combined well with the caramel and coffee. Man, at that moment i swear, i would recommend this to everyone. So here i am, recommending you guys to drink this Salted Caramel Coffee. I mean, really, you must try this ! In fact, this is always my drink if i came here since then. LOL.

Caramel Macchiato

On my recent visit, i tried their Caramel Macchiato which the barista recommend me when i first came. So i ordered it hot. They served it with a mug with a caramel sauce on top of the coffee and foam. Actually, this one is not bad too, it's slightly better than Starbucks' Caramel Macchiato in my opinion.

Back to our reviewing on a cafe.

This time it's BLACKLISTED.

This cafe is located at Pondok Indah Mall and to be precisely, it is on the Street Gallery 2nd floor. The mall has this unique place that through this 'street gallery', visitors can find many kinds of cuisine with the street interior.

A little bit info of BLACKLISTED. This outlet actually has 3 branches located all in Jakarta : Pondok Indah Mall, Puri Indah Mall, and Ciputra World.

I came to PIM (stands for Pondok Indah Mall) for the first time with my friends (Vincent, the co-owner of this blog included). We were walking around the mall for some sightseeing while we were thinking of what we would like for our dinner later (we came at night).

When we passed this restaurant, I saw a board the waiter put in front of its door. The board has a picture of its signature dish. As I recall, it wrote "Try Our New Menu" and the menu was an appetizer. What made me so desire was because the appetizer used an ingredient that I like the most, if you have read my review before on Luciole Bistro & Bar, you would have known what it is.

I'll give you the answer. It's FISH.

After seeing that picture, I was hoping that I could choose this place cause I was craving to try the dish very much.

AND............

LUCKY ME!

That day was my turn to choose the place. I told my friends that I wanted to try this spot once.

After couple hours, we came back to have our dinner. We entered and that night, the place was quite crowded, we chose the non-smoking room. The atmosphere was comfortable, it suits for couples to spend their Saturday night (Saturdate) hahaha.

We sat and the waiter gave us the menu list. We looked on it and then I had figured what the dish was from the picture. It was Norwegian Salmon. Oohhhh... Judging by the photo on the menu, I thought it would taste AWESOME, so I chose to order this one. Couple minutes after that, my friends and I were ready to order our meals, so we called the waiter.

THEN THE NIGHTMARE CAME

MY DISH WAS OUT OF ORDER. ARGH........

That night, most of the dish's and beverage's ingredients were out of stock, 2 of my friend including me had to spent couple of minutes to look at the menu and re-order.

I didn't got the chance to order my craved dish, and my decision came to this. This dish was actually served as breakfast meal, but the waiter said the dish was served all day, it's an all day breakfast meal to be precise. So I ordered it anyway. To describe this, I quite enjoyed it, it tasted like when you eat pizza. The richness of the components made this meal put you into full state of energy if eaten as breakfast.

This dish was the best that night. My friend ordered this and we tried it (we taste each other's meals). It was like an ordinary burger, but the hero of this burger was the Bacon Jam. It tasted FANTASTIC, never before I heard a bacon made into jam cause the sweetness made this burger so addictive. The Beef Patty was tender and juicy and the sour from the green apple plus the sweetness of the jam made this burger taste really great. The ingredients are well-combined and makes it taste DELICIOUS.

The patty was the same one with the BAD one (dish above), it was tender and juicy. Their differences were just on the jam. This one didn't have one. Guess the hero wasn't on this dish right now.

When we saw this meal on the menu, together we agreed that we wanted to order this one for share. When this food was served, we ate the fries first cause we were still enjoying on our own appetizer. Here's the weird things.

When I tasted it, the tuna mayo was so cold already, I didn't understand this. Was it because we didn't eat it after being served or maybe this was the uniqueness of the dish or it was out of date (oh god) ? Anyway, I was the only one who thought of this, the others, I asked them and they said it taste okay but nothing special though, I guessed they didn't mind after all or (no comment) ?

We ordered this and the taste ? Well....

It was good, only good. It was crunchy and the portion was enough for 3 people. The sauce : spicy mayo, I didn't like it, it tasted exactly like the Thousand Island Mayonnaise. I imagine that the sauce was made by mixing chilly sauce + thousand island mayo. BAM........!! There you go. SPICY MAYO

Sorry for the negatives, but at least the calamari saved the dish.

I ordered this drink hoping that it would taste as good as the one in Djournal Coffee Bar, I will write the review about it one day.

And the taste..... It's GOOD. The coffee and the sea salt, it was like sync-ing together. The design on the steamed milk foam was pretty too. It would taste better if it was still hot.

This drink was okay. The taste was the same as the other cappuccino you can find anywhere. What I liked from this was just the design, the bartender drew a leaf design using the steamed milk foam. It was beautiful. Salute to the bartender. He had done a good job.

Today I'm gonna review about the place where I went before. From the title, you'd found the name of the restaurant. It's LUCIOLE BISTRO & BAR. Located at Central Park, West Jakarta.

Here's the story of how I could come to this place.

My friends and I usually play a game of whose turn to choose a place to eat every time we go out together. The rules are simple : whoever choose the place, the others should just follow and never complain the decision. This time, I was going out only with 1 of my friend, Vincent who also the co-owner of this blog. YES. It was just two of us. On that day, it was his turn to choose the place too (well, just the two of us, either he or me that has to decide). So....... He chose this place and I must agree with it.

The restaurant located at the middle of the Park, across from SOGO, so it isn't located inside the mall building. The place was okay.. I mean it was quiet when we visited since it was weekday, so the customers were fewer and we won't need to wait for a table. We came at night and the atmosphere was cozy with great interior design. This restaurant is really recommended for dating or romantic dinner.

The waitress gave us the menus and we checked it out. Anyway, before we came to this restaurant, we already know of their recommended dish. So it didn't took us long to decide what to ordered.

Below here are what we ordered :

Baramundi

Description :

Pan Seared Baramundi

Spring Vegetable, Baby Potato

and

Lemon Butter Sauce

Since I am a fish lover, I usually order any food starting with fish ingredients (salmon, tuna, baramundi, many more). Quite a luxury food eater huh ? hahahaha. When I saw this appetizer being served to me, I told myself that this would taste good judging by the look, it was exquisite.

The moment I tasted it, it was SUPERB.. Guess sometimes eyes can't lie after all. The fish and the sauce were combined well to each other, as they were meant together to enter our belly.

The fish was cooked perfectly, and the spring vegetables (broccoli, carrot) were smooth too, as when you bite on it, it would crush easily and the hero of this dish would be the sauce, Lemon Butter Sauce. The sour taste from the lemon and sweet from butter act nicely with the fish. I enjoyed very much with the sauce and would have asked for more if I could.

Seafood Risotto

Green Mussels and Calamari

We asked the waitress about what were the special and favorite dishes at the restaurant, and she answered that many had ordered their risotto, so we tried one. For your information, risotto is a rice dish but not rice. I mean, the usual rice dish is the rice is cooked with plain water, meanwhile for risotto, the rice is cooked with broth to a creamy texture. The broth can be from meat or vegetable, depends on how the chef wants it.

This dish was filled with healthy ingredients : green mussels and calamari. It tasted delicious but personally, I didn't quite enjoy on the sauce. I thought that the sauce was kind of the sauce for spaghetti, the bolognese one and too sweet for me. I wouldn't able to finish it alone if I had to.

Black Squid Ink Spaghetti

Now this is what I call the best dish.

We already heard that this is one of this restaurant's signature dish, so of course we ordered one too.

Honestly, the first time we heard the name of the dish, we couldn't think about how it would taste using the ink of the squid as the sauce. We are like "Since when squid's ink is consumable ?", "How it would taste ?", "Ahh, it would taste weird". But we ordered anyway since the waitress recommended it to us.

When the dish was served. It was plated on black plate and the fact that the spaghetti looked black too from the ink, we told each other that the dish wasn't good looking, so we left it last while we ate our own meals first.

After we finished, the last game finally came to end.........

We used our fork and took small bite from the plate. Now, imagine that you are stranded on an island for weeks and when you are saved, the first food you eat is your favorite one. How will you react from it ?

Our reaction would be worse than yours. We didn't expect it to be that good ! Our eyes were widely opened while chewing on the spaghetti and squid. It tasted FANTASTIC. The sweetness from the sauce, the squid's ink, made the dish tasted so fresh. After tasting it, we took back our negative words and thoughts about the taste. Best way to say it : Don't judge the book by its cover.

The only difficulty on eating this dish was, since it was squid's ink, our lips were looked like we were putting some lipstick on it, black one, it's messy. After all, this dish was enjoyable and I would come again to order one again.

We promise, we will come here again since we haven't taste all the dishes provided by the restaurant. So... Stay tuned and wait for our reviews again guys !

SECOND VISIT !! WOOOOOHOOOOOO.......!!!!!!!!

As I said before (look up) : "we will come here again" and I really meant it the time I wrote that. Because here I am, visiting here again with a really good result even for 2nd time. NICE ~~

We came to Central Park again after a break from our last semester exams and this time, we were accompanied by one friend too, so no more 2 people facing each other again. LOL... We recommended this place since he had never been here before.

This time, we didn't order the same before. We tried other dishes which I need to take really long time to choose :| (actually I wanted to order the Black Squid Ink Spaghetti, but I ordered it for my friend).

Seafood Spaghetti

Asian Spicy Marinara

I ordered this one in hope that I could taste some spicy food since the menu wrote "spicy", but sadly it wasn't. Either it wasn't spicy at all or it didn't have effect on my taste bud LOL... (it tasted sweet for me)

The dish was quite delicious. It was flavorful.

The spaghetti was cooked perfectly (nothing special -_-), the sauce was delicious, only that I thought it tasted like a bolognese sauce (same as the one above : Seafood Risotto).

One thing made me confused from this dish.

Where's the green mussels ?

Well, through the picture, you can clearly see the green mussels, but only the shell. The meat inside ? I had trouble finding them in the dish. I couldn't saw the mussel's meat cause inside the shell was the marinara sauce :| Either it was lost or the meat was too small that I ate it with the spaghetti unknowingly.

Anyway, it was tasteful while it was still hot :)

Roasted Prawn

Angel Hair Oglio Olio

Another new dish !

To be truthful, this one was better than mine. A LOT

I really liked the pasta (called Capellini in Italy). It's thin texture and the way it was cooked, served, really made me wanted this dish.

You know "Rice Vermicelli" ? Well, in Indonesia, we call it "bihun".

Now, when I tasted it, my first comment was "This one tasted like bihun goreng (fried rice vermicelli). It's delicious !". The others agreed too cause the flavor really matched with us. The shrimps were cooked perfectly and tasted really good. Quite a good seasoning to the shrimp. GOOD JOB !!

If I have another time and visit this place again, I might order this dish. LOL...

The third plate, I won't review it because I had done it before. It's Black Squid Ink Spaghetti.

Crab & Corn Fritters

Actually it might called Shrimp & Corn Fritters since it used the shrimp meat because the restaurant was in short of crab meat, so the waitress suggested us to change it to use the shrimp meat to make the fritters. FINE.

Crab or shrimp, I didn't care ~ . It tasted good anyway !

It was fried to a crunchy texture and the fritters were thick too. Ate a plate of these (5 pieces) and I might be full and couldn't eat anything more.

I liked the sambal cause it was a little spicy to me (again, only a little spicy hahaha). If I may, I might order 5 small bowls of the sambal for each fritters LOL...

DESSERT TIME !!

Chocolate Truffle Cake

Another dessert that will be included in my dessert list (after the one in KITCHENETTE : Nutella Mousse Cake).

The cake was so moist and flavorful. The sweetness from the chocolate really tasted PERFECT. I didn't need to bite on the cake cause only using pressing it a little bit, the cake already burst with a lot of flavor.

Rate : 9.0 / 10 (quite high cause I really like this one)

I intended to order another slice but I was in dilemma because I didn't know which to choose between this or the other one below. Help me choose it please ? PLEASE... PLEASE.......

Blueberry Cheese Cake

AGAIN. Another dish entered my dessert list. Two in a row from the restaurant.

This one really made me in dilemma to choose which to order for another slice. Really. This one tasted AWESOME !

The cheese was flavorful and the sweetness from the blueberry jam combined with the cheese cake. DANG !! It was the best combination in my opinion.

As the one before, this cake was moist too that it really tasted so perfect and enjoyable. Give me the whole cake and I will finish it on that time B-)

Lemon Tart

Raspberry Coulis

This one, I might say it was so-so.

The tart was the same as egg tart, the difference only on the filling. Lemon vs. Egg.

The lemon wasn't sour at all, more like it was sweet. The tart was crunchy but again, I might say it was nothing special compared with the other two above.

As I said above, I might order another slice but I was reminded on the money I had spent. I spent some on the dessert on other cafe which I really regretted ever ordered one. Expensive plus tasted bad. Compare to the dessert here (the truffle and cheese cake), it was NOTHING. I will review it in the next time (still not know when).

The cake wasn't expensive at all, comparing to other restaurants. And this time, again, I think I might visit again here to taste all the cake (some of them were out of stock -__-). Wait for the information if it really happens !
