His latest single titled One Night on the hot Over Proof rhythm is currently blowing up the airwaves. His 25 track mix tape Adventerous to di World is also a big hit with dancehall fans in the New York Tri-state area.

“I am working really hard to make a name for myself in the music biz and I know it won’t be long before I get my break. I am making good music and the people love what I am doing, so I know it’s just a matter of time before it happens.”

The Rochester, New York based artist said that he has been doing a lot of work in the big apple and is now looking forward to take his career to new heights.

“I have been doing most of my work in the New York area and its going quite well, in the coming months I plan to build on this by taking my music to other states as well Jamaica. As a dancehall artist I have to buss a yard in order to really impact the dancehall scene worldwide and that’s my main goal right now,” said Adventerous.

Adventerous is scheduled to perform on a pre-valentine’s day event on the 10th of February at Ruby Hall in Rochester, New York. The event is billed as A Valentines Love Affair and will also feature reggae star Sanchez as the headlined act.

When asked if he was nervous about his upcoming assignment, he confidently said no.

“I am not nervous about my upcoming show, opening for Sanchez is a big deal of course but I have had a lot of experience, over the years I have done shows with a lot of big stars like Capleton, Freddie McGregor, Mavado, Ricky Blaze and Gappy Ranks, so I am more than ready for this show.”
I like the song, I feel it has high energy and has a good vibe all around. What’s also good about the song is that it reflects real life situations which have to some extent affected both artistes in different ways and the video mirrors those experiences”.

Chan Dizzy who burst on to the mainstream with Nuh Strange Face in 2010, stepped it up a notch in 2011 with Hello Badmind, Dat Mi Know and Our Place. He has been consistent on the national airwaves as well as regionally with these infectious dancehall singles.

The artiste who is currently aligned to the Russian’s Head Concussion label says for 2012 Til Kingdom Come is the first step in what will be a good year: “This to me is a great start to the new year. The song has been getting good airplay and is very popular in the streets. I believe that the video compliments the track and will add value to the lyrics by giving fans a visual of what is been said. A lot of people identify with the song and I think that’s the reason it’s so popular”

The artiste who had a very successful 2011 says he has more in store for dancehall fans as he continues to release good material: “I did a track recently called Anywhere Mi Wah on the Team No Sleep riddim for ZJ Chrome, Herbalist for Russian in the High Times riddim as well as Kibba Dem Mouth for Bigimani (Big A). We also plan to shoot the videos for the three songs next week. The year looks really bright as I am putting in the work to ensure that 2012 is better than 2011 which was a good year for me.

Chan Dizzy also has to his credit the successful release of his Dizzyness mixtape last year and used that platform to travel internationally for stage shows in Canada, the US, the Caribbean and Europe.

To date, Chan Dizzy has worked with numerous producers most notably Tarik "Russian" Johnston (Head Concussion), Steven "Di Genius" McGregor (Big Ship), Jeremy Harding (2HardMusic) and TJ Records to name a few.

The artiste is very excited about the release of his new video and says fans can expect at least two more videos from him before the end of the month.
For over two decades he has stuck to his guns by recording and performing socially conscious music and it is still paying off for him.

“All my years in the music business I have always recorded songs that are positive; my music is largely about social commentary as well. This is why Papa Biggy is still around after all these years, I am still doing shows and recordings and the people love my works wherever I go,” said the artist.

Papa Biggy is currently enjoying much attention with his latest single titled Careless Fearless. The song that was done in tandem with ten year old singer Nikia is receiving strong rotation both locally and overseas.

“My latest tune is getting a lot of love all over; it’s getting some very strong airplay right now. I plan to do everything possible to push it as far as possible, it has a very serious message for the youths and I need them to hear it. Right now I am thinking about doing a video for it.”

Careless Fearless is available on Itunes and all other leading internet music download sites. Papa Biggy is currently busy in the studios working on his soon to be released album.
However, this rising star is working feverishly to move out of his younger sibling's shadow by carving a niche for himself and some would say he has succeeded.

With his summer 2010 anthem "Look Another Gal," Delus made fans and industry executives take a second look at his body of work. Media became enamored by not only his talent, but his humility and it seems that every day he was either doing a television, radio or print interview.

His continuous drive and hard work landed him an EME Award nomination for Most Improved Artist and a MIA Awards nomination for Most Determined Artist in 2011. When the single was not being played daily on the radio, it was being played at popular weekly parties, in taxis and by street vendors. The success of the single fueled his determination to follow-up with other credible singles. And that he did.

Delus released a slew of singles, such as "Get Away," "Life," "Silent River," and "Gal My Ting Deh." However it is his current single "What Tomorrow May Bring" that has again struck a chord with the masses.

With this offering, Delus removes the veil and exposed exactly what's on his mind. And it's a lot! The lyrical honesty and positive message has everyone cheering and singing along. While Delus might not be sure about "What Tomorrow May Bring," here is what's certain: (1) tomorrow he will work just as hard - or even harder - than yesterday, (2) his track record proves that he will also continue to make quality music that everyone can identify with, and (3) his servility and love of the craft will continue to win audiences worldwide.

"What Tomorrow May Bring" produced by Dameon Gayle of Warrior Music is available on iTunes and other digital outlets.
Later that night he made an appearance at Club Rain, where he was greeted by his fans who were so ecstatic to see him for the first time in Jacksonville Florida.

Prior to gracing the stage SubKonshus artist Darrio performed and was well received by the crowd as he had the girls screaming for more. Konshens took to the stage with hit single "Gal Dem a Talk Bout We" at about 1:15 a.m. and the crowd couldn't get enough.

After his 4th time singing the song he went into songs like Realest, Forward, Pretty Devil, Simple Song and Buss a Blank. But it was the first single off his soon to be released debut album titled "Mental Maintenance", which had the crowd in a frenzy.

Konshens started with the intro "We Nuh Frighten fi Nobody" and the crowd went crazy, he attempted to sing the song 4 more times. After pleading with his fans "mek mi finish di song nuh, you nuh want dem fi know say, No Bwoy Nuh Badda Dan we", and his fans began to jump, scream, buss blank and request that he sing the song again. After pleasing his fans and singing Do Sumn 5 more times, Konshens would continue with his set and close with another crowd favorite Winner.

Now he was off to Tampa Florida, and his fans came out in numbers. After another stellar performance by SubKonshus artist Darrio, Konshens hit the stage at 4:15 a.m. and the crowd was ready. The females lined the front of the stage in every attempt to get the attention of Konshens. As he performed hits like Pretty Devil, She's Happy, Gal Dem a Talk and Simple Song. Konshens was ready to give the fans a taste of what Jacksonville heard the night before. He began with the intro "We Nuh Frighten fi Nobody" and once again the crowd was in a frenzy, and they began to sing every word line for line.

When asked how does it feel to have received such a warm welcome from his fans in Jacksonville and Tampa Florida his response was "Its a humbling feeling to know I can travel across the world and know that the work I put in is being accepted and embraced by my fans. Its a humbling feeling and one that makes me realize say my part in the history of reggae is being written as we speak"

Now back in Jamaica the promotion never stops, Konshens is currently on the cover of Embrace You Magazine where he talks about the concept behind creating the "Mental Maintenance" album and gives a brief description of who is Konshens. He is also preparing for the release of the long anticipated video Gal a Bubble, which will premiere today on his Face Book Fan Page at 8o'clock p.m. EST.

With the countdown to the release of the album "Mental Maintenance" Konshens is working hard and will be back in the US on February 15th - 17th in Washington, DC doing some more media promotions. Mental Maintenance Tour dates to be announced soon stay tuned!

It’s definitely a musical love affair with the singjay and his many fans as he drops Crying To The Nation which is a 16-track joint venture deal with VP Records and Scikron, owned by Robert Livingston.

Among the featured tracks on the album are Rules of Life, Help I Please, L.O.V.E. Y.O.U., The Master’s Plan and the very popular Lose A Friend. The album will also see I-Octane doing collabs with other artistes such as Albarosie, Tarrus Riley and Agent Sasco.

On Wednesday, February 8, VP records will kick start the album’s promotion with the shooting of the music video for the second single off the album L.O.V.E. Y.O.U. Scenes will be shot at Big Yard and several other locations across Kingston.

Produced by Christopher Birch the video will be done under the direction of Scorpio 21.

L.O.V.E. Y.O.U. seem to have hit all the right notes where his fans are concerned as the song is now in the number two position on Fi Wi Choice.

That is not the only song from the singjay sitting pretty on the charts Burn Dem Bridge is in the number one spot on Fi WI Choice and Hype TV top 20 Singles chart the video is number on CVM’s Hitlist.

Commenting on his success I-Octane said he is happy that the hard work put in by himself and his management is bearing fruit. “It’s a great feeling and I am looking forward to even more success,” he said.

Promotion for the album will continue in earnest following the shooting of the music video as I-Octane will fly out on the following day for a promotional blitz in the States where he is expected to do several radio and television interviews among them a MTV performance.

Following his return to the island on Monday, February 13, he will head for Guyana where he has a show booked for February 17 and there will be sharing stage with Morgan Heritage and Keri Hilson.

In other news the singjay has signed a two-year radio commercial deal with Guinness where his voice will be heard throughout the Caribbean.
Combining the names of his two singles from the album, "Surrender" and "You Make Me," both major hits during this Carnival season in Trinidad, rendered Farmer the perfect title for his second studio effort.

"I'm now celebrating my 30th anniversary in the music business and this year, Carnival will be extra special as my album will be available worldwide on the official Carnival day, February 21," states Farmer Nappy. "I've traveled, performed, encountered and experienced and I've captured everything in this album. My journey starts with soca but it doesn't end there, and neither does this album."

From Farmer's signature groovy R&B melodies to his up-tempo carnival-esque anthems, the 13-track album boasts an array of sounds that fully depict the potpourri that is Caribbean music. Blending calypso, kaiso, ragga, soca, reggae and dancehall tones, Farmer manages to capture the true essence of the Caribbean, taking this compilation beyond carnival circles.

With fusion as his fuel, Farmer Nappy teams up with other Caribbean stars to bring a sample of the different flavors of the islands. Reggae icon Anthony B features on not one but two tracks, the megahit "Chippin Remix" and "Can't Talk To me," lending his reggae rap to Farmer's groovy flow. Soca's elite Machel Montano co-wrote "Go Brave" and joins Farmer for "I Pay For This." Legendary Trinidad dancehall artist General Grant shines on "Looking To Wine," a trademark tune for calypso lovers. Producers include Barbadian production giant, De Red Boyz (who also scored Farmer his first international hit with "Chippin'"), Grenada's Shawn "Mr. Roots" Mitchell, Barbados' Dwain "Dwaingerous" Antrobus, and Trinidad's Kerwin Du Bois and Precision Productions, further adding to the diversity of the album.

Farmer Nappy built a global fan base as part of fellow international soca act, Machel Montano's 'HD Band,' touring extensively for over two decades and bringing the sounds of mas to the masses worldwide. He can currently be seen performing more than 30 shows during Carnival season in Trinidad, which culminates on day of this album's release. With his two hits in hand and a new album en route, Farmer Nappy is undoubtedly having his best year yet as he continues his quest of carrying Caribbean music around the world, 30 years and counting.

You Make Me...Surrender is distributed by FOX FUSE, with physical albums in select stores throughout the U.S. and Trinidad, and will be available digitally worldwide on all major digital retailers, including iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and Spotify. It is now available for pre-order on iTunes and all digital outlets.
Her lyrical path was the safe religious homilies that could light a spark and leave Christians with that good feeling.

However, four years later, Kereen Gregory is not merely setting off sparks, she is creating fires and firestorms of criticism as she explores her musical horizons in her quest to win souls for Christ. Her lyrical content has moved from safe to edgy -- some would perhaps say 'too edgy -- and KG has stepped out as a dancehall deejay, while keeping true to her God-centric focus.

In 2011, Kereen teamed up with controversial and successful gospel artiste, Prodigal Son and embraced the challenge to boldly step out into the world as a testimony to her faith. KG entered Prodigal's Radikal Yawd outfit and was re-baptised. She emerged from the studio sounding like a seasoned deejay, throwing down lyrics that were sure to make both Christendom and the world stop and listen.

One of her singles on the Radikal Yawd imprint is called Who Me You Mad and is chockful of sexual overtones, while driving home the point that God is her only man and is totally in charge of her existence. "You a di boss, You a di don", Kereen declares in one verse of the song, prior to going into the ear-popping chorus: Who me, you mad, fi one night of fun fi go cheat with the devil and give me God bun?

While some may feel that Kereen has compromised her Christianity with over-the-top lyrics such as these, Kereen herself is confident that the song is all part of that great divine plan and remains resolute in the face of growing criticism.

"Who Me You Mad is an out-of-the-box kind of song, but as Christians we know that we sometimes have to go where 'macca' can stick us and stick those around us so that they can wake up and see God's goodness," KG said. "And I didn't even know that I could deejay," the gospel singer added with a laugh.

According to Kereen, the song has received so much attention from both the dancehall and non-religious radio, that it has forced on-air gospel shows to start placing it on their programmes.

"It is great to sing a song in church and get a hearty 'Amen', but we as Christians must remember that we cannot always focus on preaching to the converted. If this song brings even one soul to Christ, I will feel that my mission has been accomplished," she said.

Kereen's other single on the Radikal Yawd label is called Lord Do Me Again and this too, has seen her stepping out of her usual comfort zone of traditional gospel songs.

Currently under the management of Butterfly Muzik Limited, KG is preparing for yet another milestone event in her gospel career – the launch of her debut album in the first half of 2012. For this offering, she has worked with producers Gifton Smith, Alex Blanken and Radikal Yawd.

Roger Grant who is a member of his management team and one of the main players in 619 Entertainment has indicated that the video will be shot across locations in the US and Guyana, the homeland of Natrual Black who is featured on Loose control.

“Lose Control is a very good song, its already making a strong impact in several reggae markets worldwide due to increasing airplay in recent weeks. We plan to do the video in different locations in the States and Guyana where Natrual Black is from. We plan to shoot and have it ready for release before the end of March,” said Mr. Grant.

He cited the songs universal message and theme as one of the main reasons he has decided to shoot the video in the US and Guyana.

“We have decided to shoot the video in those locations because of its theme and message, it could be shot anywhere in the world because of its message, so we decided to shoot it in the territories where both artists live. We are currently in the process of selecting a director for the video, Nordia Rose has been shortlisted so far, she did Hefla’s first video and we love the results.”

Loose Control is available on Itunes and all other leading internet music download sites.Hefla Nya’s other single titled Take You There, is currently racing up the charts, its presently number 6 on the Jamaica Music Countdown Top 25 Reggae Singles Chart.
Fifteen designers from Barbados, Belize, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and home country Jamaica will compete for enviable prizes, among them the chance to show at London Fashion week.

Says host and executive producer Keneea Linton-George, “Our aim at Mission Catwalk is to grow the fashion industry, not just in Jamaica, but the entire Caribbean. We want to show that a great quality production can come from the region and to that end, I must give credit to our production crew especially Mykal Cushnie who returns as director/editor.”

The Kingston-based TV series, which was second only to the news in its time slot, is now one hour long. Fans can expect 30 additional minutes of excitement in each episode which comprises four segments: the challenge, the design production, the runway show and the elimination of the designer. Things get off to a dramatic start when the designers meet a swift and ferocious first round challenge in which 5 of them will be eliminated. The thirteen week series culminates with three designers at a live showdown in Kingston where the winner will be chosen.

Last year’s winner Shenna Carby is still reaping benefits from her victory, which included the chance to show at Miami Fashion Week. In addition to the opportunity to show in London, this year’s winner will receive JMD$500,000 courtesy of National Commercial Bank of Jamaica (NCB) to start their clothing line, industrial sewing equipment valued at JMD$200,000 courtesy of singer Jamaica, a contract to sell their designs at SOHO boutique, a six-page fashion editorial in Ocean Style Magazine and a scholarship to pursue fashion program at London College of Fashion.

Returning to join Linton-George in the judges seat are Jamaica Observer lifestyle editor Novia McDonald-Whyte and menswear designer Carlton Brown. The trio will be joined by special guest judges including creator of Guyana Fashion week, Sonia Noel, Trinidad designers, Meiling Esau and Claudia Pegus as well as Jamaican entertainer Lady Saw. This year the show puts focus on HIV/AIDS awareness and Dr. Sharlene Jarrett will represent the Ministry of Health on a special episode.

The contestants for Mission Catwalk Season 2 are Jamaicans Shellane McFarlane, Gregory Williams, Crystal Powell, Kimbally Smith, Janel Jolly, Keshon Hawthorne, Natalie Rochester and Maria King-Beadle. Kesia Estwick and Kerin Scott are from Barbados. Ryan Chen and Shannon Kwong represent Trinidad while Jeanelle Forde represents both Trinidad and Barbados. Ryan Bentley (Guyana) and Rebecca Stirm (Belize), round off the non-Jamaican contenders.

Mission Catwalk officially launched on Tuesday Jan. 31st at the Courtleigh Auditorium. The show, presented by NCB, Supreme Ventures and Digicel, airs every Tuesday at 8:30 PM on Television Jamaica starting March 20th. Viewers in Barbados, Belize, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago please check local listings.
The multi-talented rapper who also juggles the role of CEO at S-Quire Entertainment was born to Jamaican parents in Canada, but grew up in Atlanta Georgia in the United States. Throughout his formative years Hip Hop music and music overall was a big part of his life. He began his journey in the music business at the age of thirteen.

“I got started in the music biz at age 13, rapping with the kids in my neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia. We formed a rap group called HPIC (Head Players in Charge). Before that my first interactions with music began as far back as age six, when I began learning how to play the piano,” said Lucci Gabana.

Despite the fact that he is a Hip Hop act Lucci Gabana is a huge fan of dancehall and reggae music. He recently featured on a track with dancehall artist Don Sniper title Get The Money.

“I really love reggae and dancehall a lot, I just did a song with Don Sniper who is signed to my label, it’s a really strong track and it’s getting a lot airplay over here and in Jamaica at the moment. We plan to go all out with this track; we are currently organizing to shoot the video for it,” said Lucci Gabana from his Squire Entertainment headquarters in Toronto.

He also stated that his company has big plans where Jamaica is concerned as he intends to play a serious role in the exposure of Jamaican acts overseas.

“I have a lot going on in Jamaica right now, I recently signed Don Sniper, and he is a very talented artist. We are currently working on his project; the plan is to make him into an international dancehall star. We are going drop his album later this year; it’s going to be wicked. I am also doing work with other dancehall acts including Gyptian, Beenie Man and Pop Corn; I really want to make a serious impact with these projects both in Jamaica and overseas.”
The video was shot in New York under the guidance of music video director and graphic designer Oral ‘Splicerr Ras’ Williams of Oz1 Entertainment.

The video tells a tale of the everyday struggles of life, these struggles are highlighted as one man reflects on his past. Having overcome these struggles he is always mindful of the less fortunate and is willing to give a helping hand to them.

In a recent interview Rippa Jackson said that he very happy about the video and the attention that it is getting.

“I feel very pleased about the video, we tried our very best to do a good video that the fans would love and so far it has turned out very good. It was released less than two weeks ago and it has been getting a lot of rotation both in Jamaica and other parts of the world. The youtube hits on it are very good too,” said Rippa Jackson.

Rippa Jackson is currently in the island doing the promotional rounds. Since his arrival in late December he has done numerous radio and television interviews as well as performances on events across the island. He is also getting ready to release a follow up single titled Jah You Save Me.
After recently appearing on the enviable Complex magazine's website, the artiste's hit, Only Man She Want, was this week added to New York's HOT 97 playlist.

The artiste whose correct name is Andrae Sutherland, and who hails from St. Thomas before relocating to Portmore, St. Catherine first came to the musical fore with the international hit single, Clarks, alongside mentor, Vybz Kartel. Since then he has created a string of hits including, Ravin' and more recently, Party Shot.

One of the main forces behind Only Man She Want's inclusion in HOT 97's playlist, Johnny Wonder, says he is extremely proud of the young deejay's snowballing success. Wonder, executive vice-president of the digital distribution company, 21st-Hapilos, has also had a hand in other reggae and dancehall tracks being added to the station's playlist under the 21st-Hapilos' watch. They include, Rum and Redbull by Beenie Man and Future Fambo, Khago's Nah Sell Out and more.

"First of all I have to thank Bobby Konders and Mister Cee of HOT 97 for their support; they are always behind us 100 percent and we are thankful. I am also happy with Popcaan's growing success, both locally and in the international market. The fact is that, the more artistes we can get showcased internationally, the better it will be for our music and the easier it will become for international record labels to invest in our music because they see that there is a market for it," says Wonder.

He continued, "But it all starts with the proper marketing of the songs and this is what we have been doing at 21st-Hapilos and will continue to do. Our aim is to help reggae and dancehall artistes achieve the visibility they need on the international airwaves in addition to helping producers and musicians gain some amount of profit from the sale of their music."

"All the fans have been very receptive to me generally. They love to dance to Skip To Ma Luu a lot, and No Games which was also produced by me is among the favourites here. Another song they enjoy is Romance which was produced by Chimney Records. They scream and sing that song a lot," says Serani.

He continued, "That came as a big surprise because I'm performing to crossover crowds - these are not dancehall crowds and the song was never on MTV and never got much play on Hip Hop stations in the States, so the reception for the song was great and surprising."

Most of the singer's exciting performances will be in Germany, and thus far some of his favourite stops have been Bremen, Cologne and Bremerhafen. "These performances had the hypest and loudest crowds. Germany is huge and they love reggae music, so that's a bonus. It's a great country to push reggae music in."

Not to be outdone, Serani has also been maintaining a steady presence in the Caribbean market with his recent releases, including Naah Beg Friendon Fire Links' Off the Bench Riddim, a new single on ZJ Sparks' Kush Riddim and Make Me Stronger on Stephen "Di Genius" McGregor's latest riddim.
Only a few weeks into the new year and the singer is already booked for a number of upcoming events in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Africa and South America (Guyana and Panama) via Glory Music Bookings and Management company and his manager, Nathan Cowan.

One of his upcoming appearances, dubbed 'A Night With Jabez' will take place next month at the Bay View Eco Resort & Spa in Portland in recognition of Reggae & Black History Month. The resort which will host a 'Celebrity Thursday' each week, opted to kickstart the series with the inspirational Jabez.

Jabez whose correct name is Clive Provost and is widely known for his singles Drinking From My Saucer, Prayer We Pray, God A Mi Keeper, Great Jehovah and more says, "I have to thank God for all the results garnered last year, which continue to be reflected in this year's activities. My aim has always been to minister through music and I am extremely thankful that the message is being received not only locally, but also internationally. There is a lot more to be done, and I am in the process of putting together new singles with the legendary producer Tommy Cowan and the number one female Gospel minister, Dr. Carlene Davis O.D who is also of Glory Music."

In reference to last year's New Jerusalem album, Jabez says, "It continues to do well and I am thankful to everyone for that." The singer's album which was produced by Desmond Campbell of DWC Productions can be found in a number of stores across the island, including, Music Mart, LMH and stores in both national airports.
In addition, Jabez is preparing to release a slew of videos courtesy of his manager and noted director, Nathan Cowan of Caribbean Films. He says, "Those will be out soon and available to both the local and international audiences."
Their shows and annual competitions put on by the ABC are held at the new Carnival Village base at the Tabernacle Arts Centre in West London and it is here that the Soca Divettes have been enhancing the material calypsonians deliver when they bring their renditions for entry to the Calypso and Groovy Soca Monarch competitions each July, August and October during Black History Month when the Junior Calypsonians compete.

For the last eight years or so the Soca Divettes have sung vast numbers of choruses and arranged many harmony lines for well over 20 competing artists, most offering two songs per season. As well as the regulars, The Soca Divettes work with the visiting special guest artists who are usually well known favourites from Trinidad and Tobago and recently Canada joining the Tent for the duration of the competition as well as The Notting Hill Carnival.

To name some of the acts/artists with whom the Soca Divettes have worked with either exclusively via the Tent or other follows: The late great Duke, Poser, General Grant, Explainer, Brown Boy, Black Stallin, Shadow, Sparrow, Calypso Rose, Denise Belfont, RPB, Beckett, Ajamo, Baron, Mr Dale, Mikey, Sanell Dempster, Berbice, Jamesy P and Kevin Lyttle.

In 2010, The Soca Divettes' impeccable ear for harmony and naturally
soulful flavour was picked up and a song written for them to allow
them the chance to shine as a new and separate entity in the Tent.

They performed their first song 'Soul Fire' during each of the Friday shows of that season and received great reviews each time. 'Soul Fire' was written by the talented and reigning British Calypso Monarch holder of 2010 & 2011 Alexander D'Great and handed over for the Divette treatment. Full of harmony and dynamic the song is fresh and
uplifting evoking a new style of sophisticated soul soca. 'Soul Fire' was recorded and produced by Martin York and Alexander D. Great for Lion Valley Records in 2011.

In the same year The Soca Divettes took it a step further and wrote a song themselves which they performed during the 2011 Tent season. New song 'Fete Tonight' has since been recorded and produced by Combination Studios and released January 2012 available on itunes.

The Soca Divettes will continue as a new and separate act that contributes to the art form offering their own brand of soulful sophisticated Calypso/Soca music.

The Soca Divettes are Carlene, Geraldine and Michelle the background is they are all accomplished singers individually and all have worked with well known pop, reggae and R & B artists during their time in the music industry which exceeds 20 years.
The Dennis Brown Groundation was held at Liberty Hall downtown, the quintessential location to pay homage to such a legend just as Marcus Garvey envisioned it as a social, cultural and intellectual hub of the people.

Dennis Emmanuel Brown became popular locally in the mid 1960′s singing with other stars of the time such as Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, all before he was 10 years old. By 15 he had internationally acclaimed compositions and was a well established lead singer, thus becoming one of the true child prodigies in music- not just in Jamaica- but the world. His prolific career spans over 75 albums by other producers and countless other self-productions, many of which are still unreleased to this day.

The Groundation opened with three acoustic renditions of Dennis Brown tunes by Cen’C Love, offspring of reggae great Bunny Wailer herself on lead guitar. She was accompanied by ‘The Tuff Gang’ and they later followed up with two originals tracks from her debut album “Love Letter.” In response to the live set, host Dr Herbie Miller reiterated the fact that Brown was a well rounded musician-not just a singer- and that more of our popular artists must follow this trend today.

Presenters at the event recalled Dennis Brown as a man committed to his art just as he was to life. Spokesperson for the rights of local reggae musicians and international artist, Freddie Mcgregor glowed at the memory of being a big D Brown fan before even meeting him or becoming coworkers and ‘brothers’ in the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Lifelong ‘sistren’ of Brown, Ms Yvonne Sterling, spoke affectionately of his giving character and innate talent; she even played one of those unreleased tracks by Brown and herself for the patrons to sample. Other presenters included Mikey Barnett, Dr Dennis Howard, Roy Black and Tony Greene.

Dennis Brown is one of the gems of Jamaica and this opening event in Reggae Month 2012- Jamaica’s 50th year of independence- was a testament to the strength of our legacies when they are cherished. Media extraordinaire and longtime friend of “the Prince,” Ms Elaine Wint provided her insight on honoring the honorable ones such as Mr Dennis Emmanuel Brown:

“it would be remiss of me not to offer a reminder that we have the responsibility to keep the records and to write our story. Perhaps a 50th anniversary is the time to consider again how we recall these special occasions of our people for posterity and for the nurture of our future generations”
The multi-award winning Sing-Jay has a brand new single that is set to climb to the top of music charts around the world again. “World Is In A Turmoil” is the title of this serious statement from Sister T.

The song is calling on political and business leaders to wake up to the reality of a system gone bad. Always with a message in her music this one is provocative and forces everyone to take stock of what’s going on around them.

WORLD IS IN A TURMOIL. Hear it and heed the message – also WATCH OUT FOR THE NEW ALBUM THAT TASHA T IS GOING TO DROP THIS YEAR.
