Many dancers don't realize the power of video beyond grant submissions
and panel reviews. And when it comes time to 'hire' a dance videographer,
the price almost can't be justified because after all, many of us are in the midst of
financial ruin and fear is running many of our lives.

Beside having competitive dance rates, that are a fraction of business rates,
you get support after the shoot is over.
That means if you need to meet a deadline and you need your DVD duplicated, I can do that frequently within a day.
There are hundreds of video hosting sites,it's not just Youtube out there.
Optimization for your videos so your work gets seen is also critical for you while you consider social media, blogs, web 2.0.
That is part of the price you're paying for me to document your event.

But getting back to my little rant, dance, theater and music creatives as well as small business professionals such as spiritual healers, massage therapists, reiki masters, life coaches, have opportunities beyond Wall Street. So don't let price scare you away into mediocrity or settling for less than you deserve.

Granted this is only my opinion but I believe we are the backbone for the healing in this country and it feels great when we take actions in our work that we know has impact.

Talking about impact, after experiencing 5 personally traumatic events between 2007 - 2008, which left me incapable of working to my fullest potential, I managed to maintain my business and that would not have been possible if it were not for my regular customers. That tells me you believe in my work as much as I believe in yours.

sit back and watch the 19 youths from Boulder, CO dance in Brooklyn following their dream of tracing their breakdance lineage.

They had help from Naropa University students in their community based project.

I grabbed this from NU's website Dance/Movement Therapy:

"Dance/movement therapists value the healing nature of the creative act, believe that movement has inner meaning and purpose, and outer expressive and communicative properties, and that body-mind synchronization is an essential component of healing.

Central to the stated purpose of contemplative practice at Naropa University is the belief that contemplative practices synchronize body, speech and heart. As this synchronization occurs, it is said that the practitioner becomes a 'spiritual warrior."

I too believe that if your mind is telling you one thing, and your heart is telling you something else, you are asynchronous and that my friend is a very very painful existence. But since thoughts become things, you can change them to something positive. Imagine living life taking inspired actions and doing meaningful things like these folks do.

I'm not a dancer so I can't speak from there.

Hi everyone,

I am passionate about what I do much as choreographers and dancers are passionate about creating work.
Over the last few years, I've made a humble living documenting live performances. What I've noticed is that
dance audiences need a little boost in attendance. I am here to help in that endeavor in the best way I know
how. Dance is important to our culture and it has certainly opened my mind to seeing things differently.

I cannot think of another grossly underpaid and passionate group of people than dancers and independent choreographers. Video is powerful and it will generate responses to your website and to your shows!
