Am Missing Beijing

I think because it's new year out there, am deeply missing my Chinese friends.

Beijing Welcomes You is a song for the Olympics and was sang during the opening night. When i saw this video it made me miss some of my favorite Chinese singers. There are many in here. Though i missed F4 in the group. A Do is here too and he was so famous the time i left Beijing.

Check out too this MTV of the song "Forever Friends" (Chinese version). There is also an English version sang by a duet of Coco Lee and Sun Nan.

Tell me which one you like best...the english or the chinese version? I love the Chinese version better.

Last week i did not make an entry because i cannot relate very much. Actually ive only been to a few sports match in real location even on TV. Real locations i attended were just here in my country and the sports i watched on TV that make my butt off the couch for many times was the World Cup in 2004 and the Cricket Cup where India won in 2007.

California Places

In a months time, an uncle will beflying to the US. He will still be staying for sometime in Washington because that would be his US address once he get there, but later he will be flying to California to spend sometime with his 2 children and maybe meet up his ex-wife. I know it will be a nice reunion and am sure they will go around California. So i will suggest to them to take a day or two in Pasadena. Maybe during the week-end to attend Sabbath services there. If he decides not to stay with friends he can check out what are the available hotels in the area.

I have never been to America yet but i know one day I will be stepping on California soil. Reason? Because i have a some relatives there and i have tons of school friends, church friends, and just friends out there and ohhhh also blogger friends. So id like to think that California would just be like Philippines because i would see a lot of Filipinos out there. In Pasadena itself, i have so many friends. But surely i would like to try checking on Pasadena Hotels in case i can use it in the future.

What's The Bible To You?

Do you know the Bible? Do you have one? Do you read it? Is it part of your greatest posession in life? Oh well, i have one for now but throughout my life i had 4 and the 3 of them lost by borrowers. When i went to China, i did not carry one with me because i thought it would be a problem crossing the China border but nah, we did not have any problem. Fortunately, i was able to buy a new Bible out there. Then few months before i left China, someone gave me a very beautiful one (black cover with golden edges), but i gave it away to a South African guy working in Shan Xi Province. I gave it away because he said he does not have a Bible with him. The Bible i personally bought there is still with my stuff that is left in the care of my friend (my former boss).

Now let me share with you some personal views of the Bible by great men:

Iraq - Facts You Should Know

I come across this reading last Friday night while in church. And I find it very interesting so i want to share it with all of you who comes by to read my blog. I got this from the compiliation of Bible Potpouri by Dr. Fred S. Mina.

1. Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible. But the second names frequenting the Bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia, all of which are know as Iraq today.

2. The name Mesopotamia means "between the two rivers," more exactly between the Tigres and Euphrates Rivers.

3. Iraq, which name suggests having "deep roots," is a very significant country in the Bible. Aside from Israel, no other nation has more history and prophecy mentioned in the Bible than Iraq.

- a. Mesopotamia, known as Iraq now, was a cradle of civilization (see Genesis 24:10)

- b. Even though it does not look like a garden or paradise on earth today, the Garden of Eden is situated in Iraq (see Gen. 3:1-6)

- c. Adam and Eve were created in Iraq (see Genesis 2:7-8)

- d. Satan made his first recorded appearance in Iraq (see Genesis 3:1-6)

- e. Nimrod, the grandson of Ham who was described as a "mighty hunter," established the Tower of Babylon inIraq (see Genesis 10:8-10; 11:1-4)

- f. Noah built the ark in Iraq ( see Genesis 6,7,8)

- g. Abraham came from the Ur of the Chaldees, which is Southern Iraq (see Gen 11:31; Acts 7:2-4)

- h. Isaac's wife hailed from Nahor in Mesopotamia (see Genesis 24:3-4,10)

- i. Jacob married Rachel and Leah and spent 20 years wiht them in Paddan-Aram, Iraq (see Genesis 27:42-25; 31:38)

- j. Assyria conquered the ten tribes of Israel in 722 BC and ended their divided kingdom.

- k. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, destroyed Jerusale in 586 BC and subjected all Jews to captivity.

- l. Babylonian is the first world empire (see Daniel 1:1,2,; 2:36-38)

- m. Ezekiel preached in Iraq (see Ezekiel 1:1-4)

- n. The greatest revival of history happened in Nineveh, capitalof Assyria (Jonah 1:2)

- o. The events in the book of Esther took place in Iraq (see Esther)

- p. Amos cried out in Iraq

- q. The book of Nahum was a prophecy against the Assyrians in Nineveh (see Nahum).

- r. The place where the three young Hebrews were thrown in a fiery furnace and Daniel, also thrown into the lion's den, was in Babylon. (Daniel 3:13-30; 6).

- s. Belshazzar, king of Babylon, saw a handwriting on th ewall in Iraq (see Daniel (5:25)

- t. The wise men from Iraq visited Jesus in the manger and gave Him gifts (see Matthew 2:1,2)

-u. The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called Babylon, which was a city in Iraq.

This is an annual festival honoring the Sr. Sto Niño, the patron saint of Midsayap, North Cotabato. Highlights of the festival includes street dancing competition, carnival and cultural shows, religious processions, agrotrade fair, and many more. The grand parade is held during the 3rd sunday of every January of the year. That is next week and how i wish i can go and witness the said affair.

I have never been to Midsayap yet but i guess it's not hard to locate the place as it is very much accessible from Davao City or from Carmen, North Cotabato.
