From time to time, businesses analyze their processes in order to simplify. They take a look at their regular operations and look for fat they can trim. The result is greater efficiency for all the actions they take and it helps them get closer to achieving their business goals.

This is an essential process for businesses of any size. Even if you’re just a one-person business or solo freelancer, you should find areas to tighten up, and here are the reasons why.

Improved Efficiency

Trimming the fat and getting rid of excess work increases your efficiency. You can take regular tasks that suck up a great deal of time, money, or energy and find ways to remove them, delegate them to others, or automate them. The result is that you expend fewer resources but get the same results.

Less Mundane Work

When you get rid of tasks that can be trimmed, automated, or delegated, you remove mundane tasks that anyone else can do. This frees you up to take care of things that only YOU can do. The same goes for your team. Getting rid of everyday tasks frees everyone up to focus on creative work, customer service, or “thinking” tasks.

Boost Your Bottom Line

Increasing efficiency in your organization translates sooner or later into increased profits. Your energy, your labor, and your time are all money. Money is also money! If you can save on these precious resources, you can save more of what you earn.

Stress Reduction

If your business processes are inefficient, it’s likely to add to your stress and the stress of your employees. Tasks pile up, paperwork needs to be done, your staff are getting mired in everyday tasks. It’s not a healthy situation. Streamlining reduces stress and allows everybody to take longer lunch breaks and leave work sooner. It also contributes to a better corporate culture.

Improved Customer Service

Whatever changes you make will likely lead to improvements in your customer service. You’ll be able to offer faster response time and optimize your use of resources. Customers won’t have to wait so long to get what they need from you and when they encounter your team, they’ll see happy and fulfilled people rather than people who are stressed and harried. Your team members will be able to take all the time they need to deal with customers appropriately.

Scaling Up

When your business is bogged down in routine tasks or not getting daily work done, you can’t scale your business when the time comes. When inboxes are swamped with emails, you can’t handle more. With orders piling up, you can’t take more. Once you clear things out and streamline, your business will have the space to grow.

One Task at a Time

Finally, streamlining business processes isn’t a one-time overhaul that presents a massive change to your organization. Rather, it’s a systematic, step-by-step process where you tackle one task at a time. You make changes to one part, implement a new and revised process, and then monitor to make sure things are on track. Then, you’re ready to tackle the next. This makes it a pain-free endeavor.

Smack dab in the middle of a strategy session with one of my favorite coaches/mentors I was told that I was operating my business at surface level.

I was like OUCH!!!

She reminded me that God never told me to lose my identity. He chose me to help other wives and mothers just like me that were struggling in private but want to profit in public. Who best to help them than someone who really understood their pain points. Someone that has gone through what they are going through and have learned how to push through it with God’s grace and help.

That’s where real impact begins SASSy Lady.

When you really understand the pain point of your ideal client, you will really show up the way God has called you to show up in your business.

Adopting the #GrowthMindset Over the #FixedMindset

People with a Growth Mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through hard work, dedication and perseverance. They typically learn more, learn it more quickly, and view challenges and failures as opportunities to improve their learning and skills. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for success.

A fixed mindset is the opposite of this. Dweck states that “In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. They spend their time documenting their intelligence or talent instead of developing them. They also believe that talent alone creates success without effort.”

In the world of business; challenges, risks, and tons of stress can quickly turn your perfect day into a day of uncertainty.

In the middle of launching my present email challenge. Hell broke loose in my life and business. Talk about a double whammy.

Here I am speaking to people about systems and then my content database went cucu for coco pops. It started sending out double, sometimes triple emails. You can imagine how I was feeling.

The thought ????will people think I don’t know what I’m doing came to mind several times. Then I quickly reminded myself to practice what I’m teaching and that I can choose to listen to the fixed mindset (negative thoughts) or that decide how I would interpret and respond to the challenge, setback, and possible criticism I was facing.

Afterall, most successful people had failures along the way. It’s part of the journey.

After assessing the situation, I acknowledge the problem, made a conscious decision to tell that #fixedmindset that was attempting to grab me where to go.

Adopting the #growthmindset helped me handle the problem, put my Plan b in place and push through, regardless of the outcome (people unsubscribing).

When stuff fell through the cracks, I evaluated it, learned from it, and decided not to dwell on it. I’ve trained my mind towards growth, and begin to work double-time to achieve it.

Set Your Mind and Keep It Set

#Wifepreneur #Mompreneur #Coaches and #Servicebasedwomeninbusiness as I end my busy workday, I wanted to jump in quickly to encourage you to set your mind and keep it set.

Every day I do my best to start my day out with a bit of devotion. It gives me the boost that I need to move throughout the day. It helps me maintain #focus and it keeps my mindset on my #vision and #goals.

I’m always amazed when I read something that is meant to feed my soul, then God gives me a two for one deal.

I’m reading one of #joycemeyer devotional books ~ #trustgoddaybyday 365 Daily Devotions.

Sept 21st devotion titled, “Set Your Mind and Keep It Set” was so on point that I had to go back and revisit it.

I love the analogy she used. She said, “Wet concrete can be moved with ease and is very impressionable before it dries or “SETS”. But once it does set, it is in place for good. It cannot be easily molded or changed. The same principle applies to setting your mind.” She went on to say, “To set your mind is to determine decisively what you will think, what you believe, and what you will or will not do—and to set it in such a way that you cannot be easily swayed or persuaded otherwise.

The reason setting your mind and keeping it set is so important is that there’s not much hope of being able to resist the temptation if you don’t make up your mind ahead of time concerning what you will do when you are tempted.

Oftentimes, #smallbusinessowners get distracted by too many ideas or the latest fad ( #shinysyndrome ), going off in a million directions and never completing anything. You not only lose time, but you also lose money.

I know all too well how easy it is to get distracted. Someone would present an idea to me and sometimes the idea looked like it would be good for my business model. I quickly learned that everyone else’s ideas may have been a good idea, but not the best idea for me. I’d look up and see that my dream would be sitting on the back burner while I was yet again building someone else’s.

I made a conscious decision to keep my mindset on my business, my goal, my dream. I started telling anyone that came to me with a good idea, that I didn’t mind supporting them, but thanks but no thanks. I’m going to stay focused on the dream/#goal that God gave me.

Colossians 3:2 tells us to set our minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. Paraphrased, set your mind, and keep it on your God-given dreams and goals. Don’t allow other things to shift your #mindset or to take you off #systems

I’ve found that writing my goals and visions down is very helpful for me. You know that saying, Right the vision… Make it plain!

It helps me stay on track. One way to stay on track is to put #SYSTEMS in place for your business and your life.

Press On With Purpose in your Business, Stop Being Your Own Worst Client

When it comes to setting goals and achieving them as a business owner, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better role model than the late, Chadwick Boseman, an American actor known for his portrayals of real-life historical figures such as Jackie Robinson in 42, James Brown in Get on Up and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall, and for his portrayal of the superhero in the Marvel Movie, Black Panther.

How are you finding ways to press on with purpose?

In 2018, Chadwick Boseman gave an empowering commencement speech at his Alma Mater, Howard University.

Boseman said… you would rather find purpose than a job or a career. Purpose crosses disciplines. Purpose is an essential element of you. It is the reason you are on the planet at this particular time in history. Your very existence is wrapped up in the things you are here to fulfill. Whatever you choose for a career path, remember the struggles along the way are only meant to shape you for your purpose.

When you are faced with adversity or presented with challenges that leave you perplexed, doubting or questioning rather our, not God actually gave you the dream or vision to becoming a business owner. Remember to hold on to your purpose.

You were willing to take a leap of faith, by taking the way that may have been filled with more failures than successes. Don’t give up.

Continue pressing on with pride and purpose and your journey will be filled with more pride, more victory, and more glory, than you’ll ever regret the process.

As Chadwick said, “Now as you commence to your paths, press on with pride and press on with purpose.”

Spend time working on the things that are important to the continued growth of your business.

Develop a new group coaching program
Write a chapter of your upcoming book
Write emails for your autoresponder (Automatically respond back to prospects or clients)
Reach out to JV partners (Joint Venture is a business arrangement in which two or more parties agree to pool their resources for the purpose of accomplishing a specific task that active participants benefit from.)
Pivot your business from face-to-face to providing services online.

I’m giving you permission right now to start treating yourself like the VIP you really are.

It’s time to put your business growth ahead of that of your clients so that you can reach a larger audience, help more people, and achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself.

Make appointments with yourself. That hour or two you have free on Thursday afternoon? Don’t book a client call in that spot. Book yourself. Mark it on your calendar, and treat it as an unbreakable appointment, just as you would an appointment with a client or your doctor or your accountant.

In short, do those things you tell your clients to do—the things your own coach is likely advising. Don’t push them aside for “later” or “after your client work is done.” Elevate yourself to VIP client status and start putting yourself first. Your business will thank you for it.

Make the decision not to do this alone. Stay encouraged by connecting with like-minded people look for
Find a mastermind group or an advisory group of like-minded entrepreneurs that you can get together with online to work ON your business.

– Networking can also take place online (local and internationally) to build relationships with other #womeninbusiness, #businessowners.

– Look for #accountabilitypartners inside of the #SocialMedia groups that you belong to. (Remember to choose an accountability partner who’s mindset is about winning)
Reconnect to your “WHY”. Most of us are in business to make money, but what do you do when you have little or no money at all coming in?

Remember… Reconnect then focus on the impact you want to make through your business (shift your focus off yourself onto the people your business can help.) What is the difference you set out to make in people’s lives through your business?

Take inventory of the software/equipment that you use. Evaluate your marketing toolbox. If your not using it, ditch it or give it to your assistant to do for you.

– Lead generation magnet – An irresistible offer that’s specific, solves a problem, inspires one quick win, quick to digest (pdf checklist).

– Lead capture landing page (WordPress, Kartra, Leadpages, etc.). Make sure your lead magnet demonstrate your expertise or your unique value proposition (UVP). This helps turn leads into customers.

– Email Marketing/autoresponder tool

– Free or paid Traffic generation tools like social media

This quote came right on time. It reminded me of a recent conversation I had with one of the #womenpreneur from my membership site – The SASS Factor Academy. She was full of zeal and didn’t have a problem approaching me with her new product.

Already being a user of the product I decided to challenge her by asking the question,

What are you going to do to differentiate yourself from other people that are selling the same product?

Days later she came back with her answer. Not only did she know what made her unique and different. She presented me with her why which allowed her to become a director very quickly in her organization. I love success stories like this.

#Stretched ~ Extended; exerted to the utmost.

Yet another good one from #WakeUpToTheWord, 365 devotions to Inspire You Each Day by Joyce Meyer. This one spoke directly to me. Joyce said, When you follow God into something new in your life, you may feel stretched.

Now I’ll be the first to tell you that what I’m doing is not new, but to consistently do what I’ve been doing for the last 24 days has been awesome and challenging.

The challenge: Move forward with this project without having to have someone validate it. After-all, I had the number one validator give me the idea years ago.

It should be no secret who validates me as I speak openly about allowing God to lead and guide me daily in my life and business. For more than five years I’ve talked about creating a membership site. I even paid someone two years ago to write my sales page then when other people started doing anything remotely like what I had planned to do, I allowed perfectionism (constant retweaking); doubt and lack of faith to stop me.

Let me give you a little more history… In the past, I shared my goals and dreams with others. They’d tell me, no one is going to understand my brand or message, then months later, sometimes even days later, and I’d see them share it online to the masses like it was there idea. Instead of moving forward with it, I put it back on the shelf because I thought no one is going to join the membership because I didn’t have a big name or following.

The crazy thing is women were signing up for strategy sessions with me. I even had a couple of them to hire me as their business coach, then after our sessions were completed I found myself back in reactive mode instead of proactive mode trying to figure out what my next steps would be to keep money coming in. After being sick and tired of starting over each time, I decided to find other like-minded women in business to hang around that would hold me accountable for doing what I said I was going to do. Then I recommitted my business back to God (grace over grind) and that’s when things started to change. I decided to stop talking about it and be about it, I got my mojo back y’all.

Mid-July I made another decision to move forward and finalize the launch of The SASS Factor Academy, but I knew I needed to do something that would peak the interest of my target audience, so I decided to host the #RevampYourBiz, #30Day Challenge on my business #Instagram page – @TheStrategyLady. I didn’t have to look hard or figure out what I was going to do. I already had the content sitting stashed away for years, I just needed to dust it off, tweak it a little bit and start posting it. I’ve been doing this long enough to know it’s not about what I want, but that I needed to survey/test the market to see if the women in business I worked with would benefit from it.

Posting the “things to do” checklist daily even if no one responded or gave me any likes, motivated and affirmed the vision God gave me. It has even stretched me a bit. Especially on those days that I had to fight those dreaded tech demons. None-the-less, a decision was made to make sure the challenge was posted no matter the time of day or evening.

Perhaps you’ve decided to take on a new role as a #womenpreneur, #femaleentrepreneur, #businessowner and you know you don’t have all the natural skills and knowledge you need to do it well. Just remember, this dream to own a successful business is not bigger than God. If He leads you into it, He will help you fulfill the responsibilities that go with it. It’s His power and presence that enables us to do things we can’t do on our own. Faith without works is dead. Don’t be afraid to stretch your faith because it will give you greater capacity to fulfill your God-given potential. If I can do it, so can you!
