by visiting a website.

At the time, it felt like magic.

The website was called JailbreakMe.

And if you were around during the early iPhone era, you probably remember how unbelievable this felt.

You opened a webpage.

You slid one button.

Seconds later…

Cydia appeared.

Why Jailbreaking Was So Popular

To understand why JailbreakMe exploded, you need to remember what the iPhone was like back then.

The iPhone was revolutionary.

But it was also restrictive.

No widgets.

No Control Center.

No quick toggles.

No themes.

Limited multitasking.

You used the iPhone the way Apple wanted you to use it.

Period.

That frustrated a lot of people.

That is where jailbreaking came in.

The person behind JailbreakMe was Nicholas Allegra.

Online, he was better known as Comex.

He was not part of a criminal organization.

He was not working for a government.

He was just a teenager from New York.

Coding from his bedroom.

But Comex saw weaknesses other people missed.

And in 2011, he found something almost absurd.

The iPhone could be attacked through a PDF.

Yes. A PDF.

Sounds ridiculous.

But that was the genius of the exploit.

When someone visited JailbreakMe, Safari quietly loaded a specially crafted PDF.

Normally, PDFs are harmless.

But Comex discovered a bug in how iOS handled certain font data.

That bug caused the phone to get confused.

And for a tiny moment, iOS dropped its guard.

That tiny opening was enough.

Comex escaped Safari’s sandbox and gained control of the entire device.

Then he installed Cydia.

Just like that.

The impossible became easy.

The idea of a tiny wearable camera isn’t new. We’ve seen miniature action cameras before, and most of them fall into one of two categories:

Cool concept, disappointing quality
Good quality, terrible usability

But after spending time with the Insta360 GO Ultra, I think this might finally be the camera that gets the balance right.

It’s absurdly small, incredibly easy to carry, and somehow still manages to produce footage that looks far better than I expected from something this size.

First Impressions

The first thing that hits you is just how tiny this camera is.

Photos genuinely don’t prepare you for it. The GO Ultra feels more like an accessory than a traditional camera. You can throw it in a pocket, clip it onto a shirt, mount it almost anywhere, or keep it attached magnetically without even thinking about it.

That changes how often you actually use it.

A lot of cameras are technically portable. Very few are effortless.

And that’s where this thing starts to stand out.

The Design Makes Sense

Most action cameras still follow the “small brick” approach:

Big lens
Thick body
Front screen
Heavy battery

The GO Ultra goes in the opposite direction. It’s designed around convenience first.

That means:

Fast mounting
Wearable recording
Quick POV clips
Everyday carry usability

Wind handling still matters, and environment makes a huge difference, but overall the audio felt less like a compromise than I expected.

One thing Insta360 consistently does well is accessories.

And with a camera this small, accessories become part of the core experience.

You start realizing how many places you can mount or wear the camera:

In this video, I discuss the new changes and features in the iOS 14 developer beta 2 firmware from Apple. I also discuss a jailbreak update on the iOS 14 jailbreak from Checkra1n and unc0ver, Cydia on iOS 14, how to jailbreak iOS 14, and the latest news on the iOS 14 jailbreak including the new odyssey jailbreak from CoolStar. iOS 14 is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. iOS 14 has already been jailbroken by the checkra1n team as they teased a photo on twitter of an iPhone running iOS 14 with Cydia installed on the home screen. Apple released iOS 14 today to developers at WWDC, and I must say, I am very impressed with the new iOS beta firmware. iOS 14 turned out to be a huge update and its features include home screen widgets, App library, picture in picture mode for iPhone, banner notifications for incoming calls, a Siri redesign, a translate app, CarKey, App Clips, messages updates, and more. iOS 14 has so many new features! I definitely recommend downloading the iOS 14 beta 1 profile with a developer account. In this video, I do a hands on review of iOS 14 beta 1 that was released by Apple to developers at WWDC 2020. I also share my first impressions and the performance of the iOS 14 beta so far.
