Womanthology, a HUGE anthology of comics written, drawn, and edited all by women, is going to be available very soon. I believe it will be in comic shops starting today and it is also up for order on Amazon.com. All proceeds from this book go to charity.

I received my copy in the mail yesterday. It is one ginormous book, and it is filled to the brim with comics, artwork, industry tips, and interviews.

I illustrated a four-page story for the book. It is called “Swimming” by Ashley Avard. It starts on page 180. I was really happy that I got to illustrate such a sweet and poignant story.

This is a piece of fan art I made based on last year’s Doctor Who Christmas special, A Christmas Carol. I love this episode! It has quickly become one of my favorite things to watch around the holidays. I recently re-watched it, and I might have to do so again before the season is over. It is brilliant. Thanks Steven Moffat.

You can check out the entire painting process in the vid below. It was done in Photoshop. Actual painting time was around four hours.

Today, I launched the site for my newest project – Frosty the Gourdman!

Frosty is a short story comic that I wrote and created with my sister Nicole. We are in the midst of putting the finishing touches on the artwork and plan to post the entire story in October. For now, we’ve got the site up and running with a few teaser images and a nifty trailer. Go check it out here:

Video: Sailor Sketch (Quicktime, 1:18, 157 KB)

Here is a bit of a quickie sketch that I made a few weeks ago. It is pretty straightforward, but it is significant because I created this painting during a live broadcast at Ustream.tv. The site enables you to create live video streams that users can interact with through chat. I am still experimenting with it, but if you have suggestions or have had experience with this service before, I would be happy to hear any comments you may have! Hopefully, I will have more Ustream experiments to share soon.
