Been testing this model I been sculpting (Maya/Zbrush) on the last couple of days. Just a test in Unreal. No textures yet. They will soon be done in Substance for a more interesting look.

Environment and Lighting work - Unreal Engine

These are a few renders using pathtracer in Unreal. The environment was made with Megascans from FAB among other textures I created. The Car was downloaded from turbosquid. I had to fix a lot of textures of the car as some were low res and made for blender.

Lighting it with Lumen, atmospherics and easy fog is interesting for background but want to work with a more realistic fog plugin in the future.

Lighting on the car was separated from the environment lighting using channels to provide more of a studio lighting look to the car. All result were made inside Unreal engine.

Throwback Darth Maul mecha-legs texture

Back when I was working In ILM San Francisco. I was assigned the task to create photorealistic textures and lookdev for the surprise villain in the "Solo:Star wars story" Movie.

They showed me the model that was created by the ILM supervisors and then I started working on the textures "History" of these particular legs. Being that they were supposed to be owned by a martial artist, you have to show that even though they were ,made of a fancy metal they still had endured several battles from a dark sith. It was pretty fun.

I am even more amazed when there are toy companies out there that completely replicate my CG textures into the an actual toy of darth Maul. It is pretty crazy to think that sometimes your digital creation travels so far all over the world... Thankful for the experience.

Texture artist - Ghost Of Tsushima. Video Game

While I was working in Digital Domain I was in charged of do hero textures for cinematic cuts for a trailer of the game. I had to take the original game textures for the main character and make variants for clean version, dirty sweaty, bleeding version, and rain muddy. It was pretty interesting as each scenario played out different aspects of the textures.

Also worked in several assets like buildings, castles and animals or character clothes. Transferring textures with different UVs or retopo for high resolution in the cinematic, as well as improving the look. Did some environment modeling as well on the intro scene where main guy wakes up in the beach battle and start running. Most modeling was made in Maya and zbrush, texturing Mari, mudbox and substance.

Lloren - "like This" Music Video - Gaffer gig

This is a music videos that I participated on its creation as a gaffer. Using several Aputure 1200, 600 several type of light stands, generators and projectors mounts with multiple size diffusers. It was a great learning experience.

In this was pretty interesting that way that we started creating environments for the client as it constantly kept changing but at the same time we kept learning and adjusting to the process. I was in charge of creating a layout of Gotham city at a distance as well as a version of the Wayne tower by the downtown . And many more environments I don't remember..

"Seen't tha Devil" Derek Shields - Gaffer

Here is one of the music videos I was on the role of gaffer for the production. I was on charged of creating different setups for all the shots. Most of these were done with a few portable Neewer, Godox lights and 2 pairs of Nanlites Pavotubes which proved to be very fun an intuitive to use!

This movie was pretty fun to do. This was the first time I almost testured completly a whole environment with procedurals made with substance designer and a couple of RGB masks to avoid repetition. Look dev was also fun. Mostly was on charged of the Main street texturing and a couple of buildings nearby.

Here the trailer of what I have up to in the last months. Will smith just cruising around in his dirt bike by my beloved Cartagena, Colombia lol...mean while I have to destroy and light in CGI all environments around him.

I was on charged of the liquor store destruction sequence, several layers of bottles, stands and building debris were rendered and provided for the compositor which made it challenging but very rewarding!

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - Big Gun Modeling and texturing

Here is a short video of the Guardians of the galaxy 2 narrated by director James Gunn on the sequence that we worked on studio.

I was responsible for concepting, modeling and texturing of the big gun that Gamora Picks up to shoot at her sister Nebula. It also shows parts of the space ship that Nebula uses, where I enhanced the textures for close ups and to get a more rough and dirty look to this ship version :

Dirt, scratches, weathering, oil spils and different extra masks were hand painted and given to the compositor to get a nice bumpy and scratched up surface. The glass got a series of additional masks to help the distortion for the refraction properties of the glass.

Dirty and damaged version of the space ship...although is kinda hard to see the details from this distance...there goes my 3 weeks of texturing lol

The entire gun was a long process of try an error as I was concepting and trowing ideas to improve the shape at the same time as I was modeling in 3D. There are tons of versions and shapes of this gun, it was challenging but fun a the same time. Textures and the look dev also made by me.

NVIDIA Quadro and Epic Games Unreal Engine multi-GPU customizations benefit all Unreal users.

When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens next year at Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort,park guests will visit the planet of Batuu, a remote outpost that was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes. But you don’t have to wait another year to get a glimpse of it.

An in-progress animated sequence from the Millennium Falcon attraction was unveiled today. Produced by ILMxLAB and running in real time, it gives fans the first ever glimpse of the incredible detail and immersion the attraction will offer.

Walt Disney Imagineering teamed with NVIDIA and Epic Games to develop new technology to drive its attraction. When it launches, riders will enter a cockpit powered with a single BOXX chassis packed with eight high-end NVIDIA Quadro P6000 GPUs, connected via Quadro SLI.

Quadro Sync synchronizes five projectors for the creation of dazzling ultra-high resolution, perfectly timed displays to fully immerse the riders in the world of planet Batuu.

Working with NVIDIA and Epic Games, the Imagineering team created a custom multi-GPU implementation for Unreal Engine. This new code was returned to the Epic Games team and will help influence how multi-GPUs function for their engine.

“We worked with NVIDIA engineers to use Quadro-specific features like Mosaic and cross-GPU reads to develop a renderer that had performance characteristics we needed,” says Bei Yang, technology studio executive at Disney Imagineering. “Using the eight connected GPUs allowed us to achieve performance unlike anything before.”

Yang and Principal Software Developer Eric Smolikowski dove into more details during their GTC talk, “Walt Disney Imagineering Technology Preview: Real-time Rendering of a Galaxy Far, Far Away,” and discussed how Disney Imagineering took advantage of the latest NVIDIA technology and the technical modifications they made for the Unreal Engine, which allows eight GPUs to render at unprecedented quality and speed.
