This is one of the most well planned pre wedding photography assignment I have ever done. Since the day they decided to engage me as wedding photographer, I am being downloaded with a lot of information, from the type of gown, the location for photo shooting, the amount of time being spend at each location, to the type of accessories that goes with it, etc. We even went for beach scouting.

One of the most memorable moment during the whole day photo shooting session was by the beach (with big rocks). There’s so much rock climbing and jumping that I enjoy very much, but not for the couple and my assistant. I guess there’s a lot of advantage being a Sabahan boy with all those frequent outdoor activities I had. I wonder if this feeling were very similar to those photographers at NatGeo capturing those stunning images – I was like living (standing) at the edge of the rocks for the prize image.

Andry and Shiau Ling are my friends, and they knew I have been actively doing photography for a while. The best part about taking photos of people I know is, it’s more fun and relax, and we can do more crazy/very serious stuffs..LOL.

Before Andry could pick up Shiau Ling, he has to go thru a series of challenges prepared by the bridesmaids, and obviously the bridesmaids did not prepare easy games for him and the groomsmen.  The main goal of these games is to test Andry’s sincerity and wanting-ness to be with Shiau Ling. And I give praises to Andry for his courages! (he was like….”let’s do it and I want to see my wife ASAP”).

Later in the afternoon, we went for a mini portrait session around Penang heritage area. And this is the most relaxing mini portrait session I have ever done during actual wedding day. First, because we already know each other very well. Secondly, because we have a lot time to plan and travel around for the photo session. And I only need to prepare the same day edit slideshow for the next day wedding dinner reception.

p.s: It’s been a long while I have not update my photo blog frequently and I know I should have.
p.s.s: The last few months have been a very hectic moment for me; there’s wedding photography assignments almost on every weekends.
p.s.s.s: Besides that, I got to make sure I am on top of my career in my full time job. 
p.s.s.s.s.s: And I still want thank God for all the blessings I have received from Him.

This is my very first Punjabi wedding photography assignment (5 days of wedding celebration!). It’s super awesome and I love the whole wedding process. Every moment is about fun and there so much dancing and singing throughout the whole 5 days event. Yupe, 5 days. And the beautiful rhythm of dhol is still beating in my mind (it’s a musical instrument produces high bass with very energetic tone).

Day 1: Sangeet Night for Sandeep
Day 2: Sangeet Night for Devina
Day 3: ROM and Oil Ceremony on each side + Mehendi Ceremony (henna) for Devina
Day 4: Actual Wedding Day and Luncheon
Day 5: Wedding Reception with 1000 guests (TYT of Penang was the guest of honor on that evening)

Here’s the highlights of their 4 days wedding celebration, and this slideshow is being shown on the 5th day during their wedding reception at Equatorial Hotel Penang.

Below are the highlights of their wedding solemnization ceremony, which was a day before the actual wedding day. The experience is awesome. This is my first evening wedding solemnization photography assignment and it’s at Muna’s home instead at a mosque in Jitra. Everyone from Muna and Ryan’s family members, relatives and friends are just so excited – lots of cheers and laughter. This is truly a joyous moment of celebration.

The one thing I always enjoy taking wedding reception photos is to see and enjoy the celebration atmosphere. There’s so much opportunity to capture candid moments and also seeing little ones having good time. Family members and guests catching up, exchanging emails, taking photos, adding each other to Facebook friends list, etc – everyone laughs and smiles.

One particular area that I can remember vividly from this photography assignment is to listen many wonderful speeches from close friends and family members, on how both charming Sadheesh and gorgeous Jashithra relationship blooms throughout the years – it’s a beautiful love story.

Below are some of the highlights of the evening that I will remember for a long long while. GB…

p/s: it’s a real honor to see some of the photos taken during their engagement ceremony being displayed at the entrance of the ballroom! Thank you Sadheesh and Jashithra.

The journey for Lip Jin and his hengdais to pick up Ching Ping were not an easy one. Just imagine eating wasabe sandwich and bitter gout, drinking 4 in 1 super flavor cocktail, performing yoga act, dancing, and etc. It was REALLY REALLY challenging, I may even chicken out. I salute Lip Jin and the guys as they were very united and very very brave to face all the difficult challenges prepared by the zimuis. I saw Ching Ping’s eyes sparkle the moment Lip Jin stepped in to pick her. I guess she might be saying in her heart, “O my dearest hero is finally here”.

As a wedding photographer, I enjoy capturing all these moments. When everyone look back at the photos, it will surely bring back smiles on our faces.

p/s: Hard Rock Hotel Penang is a cool hotel and there’s always something new and unique from them. I look forward for another photo shooting assignment at this hotel.

Baby Jayden is about the same age as Audrey – both of them born on the same month. The portrait was taken at E&O Hotel and we did all the shooting just in the hotel room – cooling and better for baby Jayden.  The room is filled with beautiful light from the window, and above all, the presence of baby Jayden’s popo, mama, and yiyi to make this portrait session a special one.

We completed the session in 60 mins time! Just before he starts crying out loud telling us “hello uncle photographer, it’s enough. I need to sleep now before I start making more noises”. Haha….isn’t the wonderful? How babies trying to communicate with us with the action, mood and crying sound.

Some of the photos were taken at their home, around the park and also at Penang Swimming Club. Thank God for the beautiful sunny day, we tried various loving and graceful poses and completed in about 2 hours ++.

What really encourage me more to look forward such portrait session is the positive feedback from Cath and family. I sincerely appreciate the opportunity and wonderful compliments from them.
