Danish Royal Media Watch

Happy Birthday, Mary! Thanks For the Laughs, the Blog Friendships, the Good Times: My Work Here Is Done: You Are Still a Loser. Good Luck With That.

2014-02-05T02:00:00.000-08:00

"What? You'll be back. After all, it's ME!"

This is the last post of the Danish Royal Media Watch. Barring any head injuries or divorce announcements at the court of the Clown Princely Couple, this is it. One last chance to say goodbye and to thank you and Maz for all the good times.

Nota bene: there is no truth to the rumours that this blog has been shut down by Daisy, the Grey Men (tm), or any another person or entity. It's just time to move on and focus on wonderful life changes. I'm also finally tired of waiting for Fred to divorce and have no more energy for a dipshit fame whore from Tasmania as she brings Denmark closer to revolt and a republican form of government.

I hope Hester will pop up in the comments and give her two kroner on thissie, but I think she'd agree that the whole time she and I put this blog and the CPMary blog together, you all (both our friends and the sourpusses) have kept us going. Yrma may be the petrol that has fueled this motor, but you've been there to make us want to drive down this scenic royal road. Thanks for the fun, here and on RD. Most of you have been a delight to write for and have fun with. It's amazing to see how many people all across the world have followed the blog. Every funny and lovely comment was an uplifting joy to read. Nearly every pissy comment was pretty fun, too. As Derf is yet to discover, you can't fix stupid, but you can have fun with it! Thank you all.

Today is Mary's 42nd birthday. I still take no comfort in the fact that she is a woman who has arrived at middle age with every material comfort and extravagance at her disposal as a person with no sense of duty, no self-awareness, no empathy, no sense of obligation or responsibility except to her own vanity, with a jowly face full of fillers and as a truly corrupt and ineffective representative of the Kingdom of Denmark. She doesn't just suckle at the public teat; she demands more and better milk beyond anything she can drink. Mazza is a vapid, unimportant, uncaring, totally narcissistic tick on Denmark's arse, sucking up all the blood she can drink until the peasants realise they should pull this toxic insect out of their skin, yank its head off (metaphorically), then send it to the waste bin of history.

Mary, you will always be a loser.

Ivalo & Minik Foundation: Izzy Again Out in the Cold: Christian Gets Keys to the Kingdom, Miracle Twins Get Greenlandic Philanthropy

2013-12-21T10:34:00.003-08:00

Poor Izzy. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

Older brother Christian is all Boganson, a mini-Jock 'Half-Mast' Donaldson, maths autistic and all. His recent appearance in a video with his family for the Sydney Opera House anniversary showed a mouth-breathing, flat-headed, moon-faced dim-wit and at a recent Chrissie programme, he sat in the corner preoccupied with a Rubik's cube, not at all to Maz's dismay, so you can tell she has some experience with this behaviour within a family. At least they dress him well.

Izzy was at the same Christmas concert in a pretty dress, but in a coat far too small for her. She must endure being 'styled' the same way as her little sister, the two of them with long stringy hair insufficiently pulled back with silver headbands (where is a German Vogue stylist when you need one?). Hard not to get the impression that the styling was for Josie, then transferred to Izzy out of lazy convenience. Our girl is starting to become truly obnoxious. Playing with her pressies (why on earth do these greedy buggers not put an end to the freebies!?! Joizus!), regarding the singing choir girls with a scowl, half sitting in her pew bench, looking far too proud to have been given permission to hold Madam MoreMore's floral bouquet at an attempt at positive self-reinforcement, it's just too sad of a sight. She's ignored by her mother in the same video mentioned earlier, allowed to stand on theatre seats, generally being taught by default that it's ok to not have manners or self-control since she's not getting enough love at home. And she also has to suffer the indignity of watching her older brother get his first Greenlandic costume in a semi-formal ceremony at home. Nothing for Iz. Cause she's not the heir.

Now, not quite yet three years old, the Miracle Twins have an educational foundation named for them: Ivalo & Minik Foundation has been started to ~~launder ALERKA money~~ provide educational grants to Greenlanders who would like to study at the university level overseas (preferably Australia so Madam can "generously" be at the graduation ceremonies?). Hm. Given the hardcore problems of poverty and addiction in Greenland, perhaps a foundation named for Daddy Derf to help clean people up would be better. Hard to get accepted to Melbourne Law or Yale if your best friend is a fifth of vodka and you aren't either foreign royalty or legacy.

The Board includes Christian Schønau, the Derfie's chief of court and official babysitter for Mazza on her overseas jaunts. Partners include the Danish-American Foundation, the Danish Royal Court, Visit Greenland, and the University of Greenland. Contributors include the Nuna Fund, Greenland Bank's Business Fund, and two shipping lines, Royal Greenland (aspirant large-scale purveyors of seafood and by appointment to the Danish Royal Court) and Royal Arctic Line (owned by the Greenlandic government). If over-fishing is funding this thing, you can bet that a smart Greenlander will want some scholarship money to jump off this icy rock and hit other shores!

Perhaps Izzy deserves a grassroots funded foundation of her own - with the explicit mission of helping her to escape her completely fucked up family life and surroundings? Who's in?

Sportif!: Derf Goes Deep C Diving for Danish Television: Demonstrably Happier Without Madam and Casually Talking With His Mates

2013-11-28T18:00:00.000-08:00

No wedding ring when he goes down! He's learning!

Our Widdle Fweddie was recently filmed with the divers and archaeologists involved with an 18th century shipwreck off the coast of Falster in the southern Zealand area of Denmark. This time he remembered that deep sea diving and wedding rings don't go well together and took his off. Dang that time in Florida when he went diving (hanging out) with the manatees (hookers) on an official sailing holiday (a secret Miami getaway) and his Greenlandic gold wedding ring fell off his finger (was left on a hotel nightstand and later pawned in the Little Havana neighbourhood). Those of you in Denmark will be able to watch the tv programme with Derfie next Monday on "Mit Danmark" (TV2). Always striking how much more relaxed and happy and semi-normal he appears when no where in the vicinity of Madam!

Video: TV2

Crown Prince in Deep Water in a TV ProgrammeOn Monday there will be a distinguished visitor on the TV series "My Denmark": Crown Prince Frederik comes for a visit.

Crown Prince Frederik is a tanned sailor who among other things has made a name for himself in racing with holdings in DM and VM in dragon boating. On Monday, 2 December, he will be a guest on Troels Kløvedal's legendary ship Nordkaperen in the TV series "My Denmark".

But the voyage with Kløvedal also offers more than just a ride on the blue waves. The Crown Prince also gets the chance to play wreck diver to find interesting objects on a sunken ship from about 1707, located in Falster between Lolland and Falster.

In the clip above you can see the Crown Prince diving down to the wreck and finding himself a virgin in deep waters (the Crown Prince is referred to as "Diver 1" while he is underwater ).

To view the entire programme with the Crown Prince, link to TV2 Play: watch My Denmark on the website.

I Said, LOOKER ME!: Yrma In Damage Control Mode: Marie Getting Positive Attention, International Panning of the Kluge Portrait, Bach Falling on His Sword, New Guy Ugly: What's a Bogan To Do?

2013-11-26T15:00:00.000-08:00

Mary: "Boo! You love ME, the Children's Princess, not that awful French piece, don't you!?

Girl: "Listen, cupcake, if you think showing up with sugary snacks is all it takes to win you points, you got another thing coming."

So, Mary has been having Caroline and Tanja read her the papers and they're all swanning over "natural", "gentle", "warm", "lovely", "kind" Princess Marie and all of her domestically-oriented, child-welfare patronages, and over cute Mr. Bach who resigned in a haze of confusion about his actual role in a relatively tiny government scandal related to overspending which is just a little too adjacent to how MoreMore handles her own affairs, and how he won't be around to accompany Madam around the world on her personal MeMeMeMeMe junkets and how his replacement Rasmus Helveg Petersen is not flirt-worthy, and how Fred might or might not be either on a major bender, or in rehab, and finally, how the international press was gobsmacked by the recent Thomas Kluge painting, including random American fashion bloggers and others who otherwise would not care one wit about Danish royals, and how instead of being all totally "any publicity is good publicity" it backfired and now through the photo-realistic messaging, everyone is awaiting the fall of Rome, aka Copenhagen, because of this family of weirdo freaks and this makes weird Mary and her weird children and weird marriage not so worthy of the next sugary cover of No Idea.

So what does our marketing genius do? Hits another kindergarten - but this time with cupcakes! messaging: Mary is very comfortable around food - with a Rasputin type named Herr Skæg (Mr. Beard from DR's Ramasjang) to get some good PR and make people forget that stupid Marie and stupid Bach and stupid Dorky Face Peterson and stupid slag bloggers who don't know anything about art! Yeah, that's the ticket!

Careful, Mary, men with super long beards didn't work out so well for Czarina Alexandra!

Looker Me!: Yrma at Randergade School: What Scandalised PM/Travel Partner/Flirt? I'M the Children's Princess! See? SEE?

2013-11-22T13:00:00.000-08:00

"Uh, you can LET GO NOW, beer man person."

What scandal? No scandal! Former Cabinet Minister Christian Friis Bach is still in Parliament. The man resigned BEFORE anything came to the surface. Fell on his sword for having lied about how much in travel expenses were approved for the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). That means he is either made of solid gold, or a complete idiot. We'll be paying attention.

But isn't it interesting that Our Man Friis Bach (the Danish press is generally praising him for his hasty retreat from wrongdoing), has spent a lot of time travelling all over the globe with the Clown Princess, staying in 5-star luxury hotels while "working" with Madam on the elimination of poverty and cruel living and social conditions for women, aka, helping Madam the Countess of Red Soled Shoes Plucked From Copenhagen's Finest Boutiques exploit and denegrate locals while seeking the title of The New Diana so that finally someone anyone anywhere will make her an international celebrity. It never stops with narcissists. So, who is investigating the extreme empty spendthrift holidays in foreign ports that Madam MoreMore takes?

The Mary Fund plays a very sketchy role in Mary's life and public relations. Who uses this organisation to give her money to do what exactly besides purchase lots of medals to put over the heads of kids who participate in the annual Copenhagen-based anti-bullying race The Mary Fund sponsors? Who pays for the boondoggles to Africa and South America? The Malaysian conference? Amber's visits to Europe or America? Mary's wardrobe as purchased in the US and other countries where she can't get away with leaving the shops with the merch under one arm like she does in Denmark? The Mary Fund does nothing but promote Mary with peanuts thrown to groups that are associated with Mary's own patronages. So why are groups like Carlsberg giving so generously as they did as recently as last week (see photo above)? We do know Madam isn't above helping Danish (and other) companies with a little publicity in exchange for dough. She learned the details back in Australia long before Derfie was eating cereal in his boxers on Mary's sharehouse sofa. Now she's got deep pockets to use her skills on. What will be the next step? For now, it is DISTRACT THE PEASANTS WITH MARY BEING LOVED ON BY CHILDREN AND CARING ABOUT HEART HEALTH.

Yrma La Douche Requests Meeting with USAID Chairman at Amalienborg: Flirts With US Ambassador, Mistakes Smart Brown Person for Mary-Ego Vehicle, Sponsors Meeting for Cameras, Will Do Nothing But Get Free Trip to US Out of It

2013-11-19T14:00:00.000-08:00

"So, I don't see a wedding ring on that finger, Mr. Gifford-Ambassador-Cutie-Sir, hihihihi"

Maz,

Knock it off, for the love of Pete. Rufus Gifford is gay, Dr. Rajiv Shah doesn't care either, and you are no international saviour of anything but your ego. You weren't even on Shah's itinerary for this Scandinavian visit of his. Just because he's brown doesn't mean he needs your help! Just because he used to work for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation doesn't mean it will be that easy to become billionaire Melinda's next bestie (like she already is with the Norways). Quick, tell us what USAID does! Eh! Wrong, they are not the agency when you need aid to become a public figure in the US. Please employ actors who will teach you how to be a discrete, humble princess in Denmark. Focus your public "efforts" on a handful of strong, domestic issues and actually make them move forward instead of just showing up in New York City with a new outfit. No one cares what you do to your face, it's what you do to Denmark that matters.

Cheers,

Weary Danish taxpayers

"Did my darling friend Rufus here tell you how much I love The Browns?"

"I just returned from your home nation of Mexico, Mr. Shah. Such lovely Browns!"

2013-11-14T20:00:00.000-08:00

The Hand of Daisy? Or the Hand of the Danish Taxpayer?

So, on the last day of El Grande Tour de Mexico by the Saviour of Little Brown People and her husband thinggie, Madam drugged Fred for his business meeting at which he could barely stay awake, took the lead in speech giving, scared a poor little girl, and posed holding her Danish Government-mandated bouquet of posies with one hand seemingly luring Fred back into the fold, and another hand seemingly ready to pluck Mary back up into the Mother Ship to Planet Sociopathic Narcissist from whence she came.

Compare to the photos of the heir to the Spanish throne and his wife visiting Hispanic California the same day. Two elegantly dressed but non-flashy professionals, no lady-in-waiting, no mandated floral bouquets handed to the lady by scared children, no little paper Spanish flags being waved by bussed in school children, just two people working hard and seriously as dignified representatives of Spain, noble enough to allow others to be spotlighted, and smart and meaningful enough to get the CEO of Google to come meet with you and show off his company and latest products. Larry Page would NEVER leave his office for Derf or Yrma, the two Danish duds. Even Maz senses it not so deep down. Here on the last day in Mexico she wore the same Ralph Lauren dress she accessorised with Jackie O bug-eye sunnies, and matching hat, gloves, and shoes that wouldn't even stay on her bunioned feet because she refuses to wear stockings, but this time the outfit was considerably dressed down.

"Somebody help me!"

Bien Jouée!: Gentle Princess Marie, the Children's Princess, Visits Hospital to Promote Clown Programme That Helps Little Patients Cope

2013-11-14T08:00:00.000-08:00

Meanwhile, back at Ranch Denmark, the real Children's Princess visited a hospital in Sonderborg to launch the programme for clowns to work with sick children. Sonderborg is near Graasten, down the road from Møgeltønder, in the far corner of the Jutland region of Denmark. What better patronage for Marie than to spend time with children in hospital. This is a delicate kind of event, what with all these young people dealing with terminal or horrible illnesses and conditions. It demands someone of compassion and sweetness who understands the sensitive nature of the situation and respects the feelings of all parties involved. No wonder no one ever asked Mary to do this. She repels children! And would never set foot in the provinces unarmed or in the company of spontaneous little people thinggies. Mary makes children wrap her present in front of her, then serves them cake with a knife in hand!

Marie has had practice with this clown group in hospital before and she seemed to have passed any unintentional test with flying colours. Marie, you are a star!

Yrma and Derf in Mexico, Day Two: The Danish Photoshop Crew Is Working Overtime to Present Madam in the Best Possible Light: Not Easy!

2013-11-13T20:00:00.000-08:00

Wow! No more sun damage!

Dear Lene,

Listen, no more Latin America visits, okay? Yes, it's a vital, interesting, diverse part of the world, and Danish companies are there and it's all good and really nice people, don't get me started on the food, YUM. But here's the deal. The Photoshop crew cannot stop complaining about how sore their arms are from airbrushing Madam. We're going to start to have to pay out worker's compensation for workplace injuries on thissie. Two of our guys have their arms in slings already! And without sleep, since making Madam beautiful is a fool's errand at best, they are all getting punchy. I'm managing to keep them awake with the potent coffee here, but head's up for some serious overtime payments to this crew. We just initially assumed the gray hair and sun damaged skin would have to go, and a dewy complexion would replace it. Nuh-uh. The left ankle twitching is creating blurs in these high speed cameras, if you can believe it. I mean, it's going like a ceiling fan on high. It is taking A LOT of time to correct. Madam did do us a favour today and skipped out on one of her events, just like she left early from the charity event last night. So there are occasional saving graces. But her getting out in front of the cameras is her life's greatest mission, so there are rough days ahead.

Many thanks,

Minister Astrid Kragh

Yrma and Derf in Mexico, Day One: Mazza Can't Hold Up the Beauty Bargain Faced With Abundant Latina Loveliness

2013-11-13T12:00:00.000-08:00

Yes, Aztec god, yes, we know and we agree!

How funny to watch Mazza look so dowdy and self-conscious surrounded by all of the beauty of the Mexican ladies hosting the Derfie-Doodles. What do you bet her left ankle has been twitching since they landed in Mexico City? One thing is for sure, Mama Boganson never instructed her daughters to get fully dressed, then take off one piece of jewellery. Madam's got the whole south seas inventory on! (That's a Try Hard indicator, Mary, scale back!)

This floral top is a Dolce & Gabbana. It just looks old fashioned and dumb on Mary!

My, Mrs. Peña Nieto is certainly a lovely lady!

So petite, too! Thanks to Mazza's bulky frame, we can really see how tiny and feminine the first lady is. Mary is such a great foil to beautiful creatures.

"Fred, what are we doing in this scary monster museum? I don't get it?"

"It's Aztec, Mary, an ancient culture. I'll be over this way."

"Do you think she's prettier than me?"

"Do you really want that answer?"

"Fred, where are you going? I'm supposed to be out in front! They came for me!"

"Sorry, Maz. I'm the royal here, I'm in front."

Through clenched teeth: "Fred, don't wander off!"

"Oh, I'm wandering off, Mary!"

"My, that's a big phallus! An Aztec presque-zizi!"

"I know you're talking, but all I hear is blah blah blah, lady."

"Gotcha!"

"Hold me closer, dammit."

"Now look like we're in love!"

"That's quite enough, Mary. Off we go!"

"I'm not embarrassed by my husband's behaviour. I just can't move my upper lip."

"Smiling and clapping around children will give me my Children's Princess title back! Not like I ever wanted it, but I can't let Joachim's little croissant have it!"

"If I clap like this, it makes me look more delicate and feminine."

"Try again, Mary."

"I like to pretend my sausage fingers are delicate digits, and touching things is a coping mechanism."

"Hello little people! Don't be afraid of my man hands!"

"I hear you have a pressie for me!"

"Hola! Your minders told us to present you with a gift, even if it's useless."

"Yes, it's in my retainer to be given pressies everywhere I go. It reminds the peasants back in Denmark that everyone loves me."

"Did they find this on a back shelf, or something? Oh well. POSE."

"Your wife's a real piece of work, isn't she?"

"You don't know the half of it."

"Fred, I had the Royal Photo Imaging Travelling Crew put Vaseline on the camera lens for that youthful, dewy look!"

"Why isn't it working on your legs?"

"Don't worry, we'll skip out of here after an hour. It's only Danish super group The Raveonettes."

Bien Jouée!: Princess Marie Speaks in Front of UNESCO Assembly in Paris While Rest of Family Attends Daisy's Annual Fredensborg Concert

2013-11-08T10:00:00.000-08:00

Grander audience than Madam La Sauvatrice du Monde!

So, the Danish princess who is least likely to embarrass herself and most likely to rise to the occasion was sent to Paris with her patronage UNESCO to give a speech on global sustainability. Madam Mazza, who tried SO HARD to impress herself upon the New York celebrity stage recently by dressing "cool" (ahem) and being hip and off the cuff ("yeah!") and dragging poor pregnant Princess Madeleine around to be her celebrity/royal intro to meet assholes like Bono, instead of working hard with her patronages or MEMEMEMEME Foundation and learning about the rotten issues in the world and using her influence to make positive changes. Didn't work. Yeah.

But Marie seems to be in control of both her subject knowledge and - inadvertently, which makes it more charming - her brand. Sister is not back in Paris to rub her former countrymens' noses into her marital success on an ill-fated Regardez-Moi! Tour. She quietly returned to her birthplace as a professional from her new nation, speaking on a subject that needs gracious, royal attention. She put her hair up, put on a pretty pants/blazer combo (someone get her a clothing budget!) and calmly and seriously, got on with business, not with posing for cameras.

Meanwhile, Daisy's annual concert at Fredensborg in which she typically signals all sorts of familial imbalances, was held without Marie in attendance, though Joachim made a dashing appearance in a velvet evening jacket, a dandy like his father. Daisy was all sorts of discombobulated with her belle-fille bien aimée not present - and it showed. Mary took note of the absense, as well, swanning her way into the palace in her silly sparkly dirndal skirt and recent Aussie top. Separates just make you look like a secretary on a night out, Mary. Pick out something more sophisticated, already. Fred looked like his usual bedraggled and bedrugged self, barely putting up with Mary and the requirement to attend one of his mother's cultured functions. At least Joachim was there looking relaxed and alive, representing Schackenborg, the preferred branch of Daisy's family tree.

2013-11-06T14:00:00.000-08:00

Dear Derfie,

When ASH and this blog suggested you do something that combines your love of sport with the children of Denmark, opening up the Power Racing Go-Kart Academy near Copenhagen wasn't what we had in mind.

Do revisit.

Danish Inns No Longer Allowed to Use Royal Crowns in Their Signs, Letterheads or Websites: Daisy Irrationally Throws the Book at Them

2013-11-04T16:00:00.000-08:00

Daisy! Girl. What is up? Or Lene, is this you? What in the hell are y'all doing? Seriously?

If you are not careful, "stop abuse of the crown" will be a headline following discovery of all of your deep dark secrets, Mary's post-nup, and Henrik's extramarital dalliances.

These famous inns are all over the Danish countryside and are charming places to stay, to meet people for a Christmas lunch (julfrokost) or to have a glass. Their crowns are noble adornment that no one associates directly with the Crown, least of all a business relationship. It's more of an insignia that one is in royal Denmark, the charming country with a monarchy and loads of castles all over the place, and stories of all sorts of naughty and nice kings and queens over the years. It's part of the backstory. So these places being asked to remove a decoration that speaks mostly to the country's history, not its monarch, is especially odd. But then again, Daisy did look at Mary and think she could be controlled and grateful. Look how that one turned out!

Many Danish Inns had until 10 May 1912 the right to adorn themselves with the title 'Royal Privileged'.

With the court also followed the possibility of using the crown - for example by allowing it to adorn the facade, menu card or letterhead. But it goes no further, says Jyllands-Posten.

According to the newspaper, the royal family is unhappy with the abuse, which for these inns, being privileged has not been legal since 1912.

It is the National Archives, as the royal family's behalf shall ensure that rules are respected, and this underlines the chief consultant Poul Olsen, that there are special rules for the application of such crown.

"We enforce the rules adopted on the matter of the royal family. We do this continuously when new cases crop up, and when we become aware that there is a breach of the rules, "he explains to Jyllands-Posten.

Fano Krogaard is one of the places that have been ordered to remove the crown. It amazes innkeeper January Faerch, 'the crown can be found in many places around the premises, it is part of our logo that is on letterhead and second and it goes back to our website," he told Jyllands-Posten and stresses that it can become a costly affair to remove the many crowns around the inn, which has been around since in 1662.

Crown Prince Frederik in Israel: Honouring the Danes Who Saved Their Jews in WWII

2013-10-31T02:00:00.000-07:00

From Shimon Peres' Facebook page: "Denmark is an exemplary country in the world, a state based on peace, social justice and caring for people. I believe that's why you're admired. I want to express our profound thanks to your people for what they did during the Shoah. Among all other countries it was Denmark that made a supreme attempt to save the lives of the Jewish people in your country either by hiding them, defending them or shipping them to Sweden. Most of them were saved and we shall never forget it, we consider it a historic act."

Despite the scraggly beard thinggie that mostly announces his general mood, it seems fair to note that Frederik's head space in Israel is worlds better than it was just a few days ago in Sydney on Madam's latest Looker Me! Tour/taxpayer boondoggle. Is it kosher to be practically jolly in a Holocaust museum? In this case, he gets a pass. All in all, a visit to Yad Vashem is a stark reminder of the cruelty of humanity, the need to go forth with peace and tolerance, and a mission to live life to the fullest. It's also worth pointing out that the Danish king at the time, Fred's great-grandfather Christian X, contributed to the financing of the effort to row 7,500 of Denmark's Jews by boat into neutral Sweden.

Perhaps all these points ring true with Frederik! Hopefully, he'll have the strength of character to move on that final point not with comely blondes in nightclubs, aka "good family friends", but with his children, and if necessary, without his wife-thinggie, replacing her with a better crown princess and support system. And use his personal fortune for more than nice clothes and brewskis out on the town with friends. Quiet financial support for worthy causes would not be unwelcome. Call up a school with a large immigrant population and find out who can't afford football uniforms or shoes. Follow up with his Harvard JFK School of Government scholarship recipients and make sure no one's eating noodles once a day because they had to pay for a school related activity. Take hope away from Israel with you, Fred! You can do it!

Peres Thanks Denmark's Royalty For Saving Country's Jews in Holocaust

President Shimon Peres on Wednesday night expressed profound thanks to the people of Denmark for their supreme effort to save the country's Jews during the Holocaust.

Following the invasion of Denmark by the Nazis, more than 7,500 members of the Danish Jewish community were ferried in small boats to unoccupied Sweden to escape persecution, a measure financed by the Danish king at the time.

This was a courageous deed by Denmark's citizens from all walks of life who did not hesitate to act when it was necessary, Peres said. "We shall never forget this historic act," he told the prince.

Frederik's visit is in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the rescue. Earlier Wednesday, he attended a memorial ceremony at the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum, where he toured the site. It was "fantastic to be in Israel," Frederik said.

The president also thanked Denmark for its present day participation in the Middle East peace process, in particular its funding of a health project which trains Palestinian doctors in the treatment of illness for which they were previously unequipped.

The prince, who was accompanied by Danish Minister for Education Christine Antonini, is not only the first Danish royal to visit Israel, but the first Scandinavian royal.

In addition to the President's staff, the prince was greeted in Danish by fellow countrymen and former government minister Rabbi Michael Melchior, who is descended from seven generations of Danish rabbis and whose son is currently in Denmark working as a rabbi.

When Peres started to tell the prince about the Melchior family's history, the prince said he was familiar with his father Rabbi Bent Melchior, the former Chief Rabbi of Denmark, who was one of the keynote speakers at the 70th anniversary commemorations in Copenhagen.

Frederik later attended a special commemorative concert at the Jerusalem Theater marking the 70th anniversary of the rescue.

Trine Villemann Goes After Countess Alexandra's Appange: Mazza Should Be Very Afraid and Reign It In, But You Know That Will Never Happen. Mwoah.

2013-10-29T08:00:00.000-07:00

Trine Villemann is angry about a lot of things these days. Understandably so as she and her family have had their world turned upside down and their livelihoods threatened in the aftermath of her husband's ostensibly innocuous yellow fever jab and the subsequent ongoing legal battles thereof. She's also rightfully upset at this non-news on Alexandra, former wife of Joachim and one-time "perfect princess" for Denmark. However, she's not letting you know that Alex pays tax on her annual salary. Probably a touch more than 50%. So, that's money that goes back into government coffers.

Trine uses her Politiken column to react to the latest appearance of Alexandra, along with her second husband Martin, and her two sons Nikolai and Felix, in Billed Bladet, the court-adjacent weekly glossy with all sorts of shallow, sugary stories about the royals, celebrities and other public people. Alex appears every now and again in the press, usually little fluff pieces like this one, because there seems to be a small interest in her and her two sons, who are quite handsome and as the queen's oldest grandchildren, the first two "royals" the public will see grow from boys to men. It has always seemed very wise how Alexandra and Prince Joachim have raised these children to understand their quasi-public role, their family's special position, and that they will most likely have a lifelong relationship with the media, so better to get used to it, understand it, not be afraid of it so as to better know how it works, both in good and bad ways and for each party. Smart!

Trine argues that Alex doesn't even work for her money. True, in the legislation granting Alex an annual apanage there seems to be no link to work obligations. However, Alex has retained a handful of her former royal patronages, such as UNICEF and the Association for the Blind. Perhaps it's hush money? Maybe the state of Denmark would be topsy-turvy at the stench of the rot that could come from Alex telling the truth about her time in the seraglio, which itself could tumble over onto itself from all that ground up corruption? In that case is it money well spent? Trine mentions that Sarah, Duchess of York never got a divorce settlement from the British taxpayers. Well, the queen is richer than God and she didn't contribute much either. Maybe a lot of the pains from Sarah Ferguson on the loose could have been avoided if she'd - like Alex - had a lovely, comfortable home purchased for her, with an annual money drip keeping her in just enough cotton wool as to not embarrass the royals, or be an albatross around her former husband's neck. (If QEII's favourite son is indeed Andrew, you'd think the queen would be more interested in him having the emotional space to find a lovely new wife instead of a pathologically sick woman living under his roof because she can't fend for herself?)

Should Alex be more savvy about not letting the press into her home in Turkey? Or talking about Turkey in terms that favour it as an anti-Denmark? Yes, maybe, although these things can be blown out of proportion. The press (and Alex) could use anyone for any purpose, and mostly, that is what we are seeing here between the Billed Bladet sugar rush and Trine's sarcastic reaction to it. However, Trine makes excellent points about Alexandra being very much an ideal candidate for just about any job she would want; she has the social skills and connections, and the intelligence and an understanding of the business world that most people could only dream about.

Nikolai and Felix are still minors, and until Felix's 18th or 21st birthday, the idea that "Alex's Law" should be repealed immediately is a non-issue. Alex is vulnerable after Felix hits his majority, and the issue of her appanage could be addressed by the government at the time to be negotiated down (including all the way to nothing) with the court's cooperation. These are difficult financial times Denmark and the world are living through and governments that traditionally have money to spend on social safety nets need to make sure their budgets are balanced fairly, make sure that former royals like Alex aren't either left to free-fall, but also to structure the system so that the one-time Princess Alexandra isn't seen as on par with pensioners needing medical assistance, or immigrants wanting to create better lives for themselves, or single mothers who can't, as opposed to won't, find work and desparately need to make ends meet for themselves and their children.

Mary, let all of this be a warning to you! Getting out will not guarantee you a golden parachute. Keep sluurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrppping that money into ALERKA and shoplifting all the fashion freebies you want while you can!

Throw the Countess Off the Books

No other royal houses in Europe have sent the bill for a divorce to the taxpayers. This week's edition of Billed Bladet magazine exhibits in a brilliant way how much we are the laughing stock of our own tax kroner when it comes to the royal family.
This court-organ has visited the Countess of Frederiksborg in her fashionable villa in the luxury Resort Oasis Sky Club in Turkey.
Over a four-page spread, the sunburned former princess and her husband, sound engineer Martin Jørgensen, spoke among other things about the landscape around the couple's large villa - it is an excellent contrast to the flat Denmark, we are told.
It costs taxpayers more than two million a year to keep the Countess Alexandra in sunshine and mountain peaks.
We have been cheated for an explanation as to why the divorce - otherwise described as 'a private matter' - suddenly became our responsibility as payable.
If the countess arrives at the average lifespan of a Danish woman, she will have cost us more than 100 million kroner before she has finished soaking up the sun.
The act on annuities for Princess Alexandra, signed by Crown Prince Frederik on 24 November 2004, is one of the largest royal and political scandals in recent times.

We Danes were not only ordered to pay alimony to Prince Joachim's ex-wife, we were also cheated out of an explanation as to why the divorce - otherwise described as 'a private matter' - suddenly became our responsibility as payable.

No other European royal houses have managed to lubricate the bill for a royal divorce onto their subjects.

The 170 million kroner the English princess Diana, for example, was presented with when she and Prince Charles were divorced, were taken from Charles' private assets.
The British taxpayers contributed not a single penny to Prince Andrew and Princess Anne divorces. In Spain, King Juan Carlos' eldest daughter, Infanta Elena, divorced her Duke Jamie without their financial balances have ended with the Spanish taxpayers.

It is therefore a quite extraordinary unusual arrangement , Alexandra was with her when she left in 2004 Amalienborg.

It would suit our reformist prime minister, if she immediately set in motion efforts to ensure that Danish taxpayers no longer have to support a woman who, with her background, education and social circle certainly should be able to fend for themselves.

It was no less unusual in 2007 that Alexandra married sound engineer Martin Jørgensen and thus lost her position as a member of the Danish royal family.

I often hear the argument that Alexandra has million to ensure that her and Joachim's sons , Princes Nikolai and Felix, growing up in a position-related conditions.

That's what Joachim took care of already in the divorce.

For as it says in the notes to the bill that formed the basis of the law on Alexandra's millions, child benefits were agreed upon between the parties.

Furthermore, gave Joachim his ex-wife an unencumbered villa in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Copenhagen, free of charge, just to make sure that the two numbers in succession should not grow up in a two-room concrete slum on the outer Nørrebro overlooking the back patches and burnt out cars.

Yet a majority in parliament were elected in November 2004 to vote for a highly educated, working- woman with a superior network and a myriad of skills to be awarded lifelong luxury dependent on everybody's behalf. Only SF and Alliance voted against it.Perhaps it would have been easier to justify an exorbitant state performance to the countess if she toiled for it, but she does not. It is now very little that we see Alexandra at work, unless, of course, giving an interview with Billed-Bladet belongs in that category.

No, there is no reason to maintain Alexandra on the government financial sheets. The law, which grants her our tax millions until she dies, should simply be scrapped. Period.

And it would suit our reformist prime minister, if she immediately set in motion efforts to ensure that Danish taxpayers no longer have to support a woman who, with her background, education and social circle certainly should be able to fend for herself.

Looker MeMeMeMeMe! Tour #9,582, Day Five: Yrma Fails In Her Efforts to Be a Shining Global Star of Any Consequence, Nor to Finally Get a "The Killing" Jumper From Sophie Gråbøl

2013-10-28T15:00:00.000-07:00

Breast cancer survivor, actress and all-round rock star Sofie Gråbøl for the win!

Yrma is such a silly, shallow, competitive little narcissist. It's all about having all of those court-approved photographers Photoshop her ugly mug before public release into one that has skin so young and dewy, you'd think she were 10 years old. And buying the exact same kind of dress that she wore in Oz a couple of years ago but this time in a whiter white than the other dress's creamy white. And pulling Sofie Gråbøl into the picture to make sure she was photographed with the woman who presented Camilla with a Killing jumper but not one for herself, and haha Mary probably makes fun of Sofie's short hairdo. Guess what, Mary, Sofie is a rock star: her short hair is growing back in after having undergone chemo treatments for cancer. A million kroner says that Camilla has written a note to Sofie herself expressing her care and concern about her cancer diagnosis, and Mary has not. Mary is such a stupid cow.

The Mary Show continues in Oz, with the Crown Prince Couple's Prize being awarded outside of Denmark for the first (and hopefully last) time. All for Mary. Mary is the only one at the podium. Mary has orchestrated this entire Looker Me! Tour to showcase Her Mazzaness! Except it's just so sad - no one cares. Except for the poor Danes who are being force-fed a bunch of really bad and sugar-sweet articles that appear in the Danish press, even the serious Danish press. The collusion of the Danish Royal Family and the press is just revolting in Denmark. Unless of course, it will come back to bite a surprised Mary in her flat ass. Bread and circuses until then. And what a sad delivery system: Mary is a nothing and a nobody. She's shallow and vacuous and ill-mannered and self-centred and probably kinda stupid and definitely kinda dumb and very likely even a hard drinker herself given her Pictish roots, Danish location and pressure-filled life.

Poor, dumb Maz. She could have just relaxed and set about balancing all of the requisite glamour PR that goes along with royalty with support for her husband, and a thorough delving into Danish culture, language and lifestyle. But you can't change a narcissist's focus: herself. Mary will never have anything remotely resembling charisma or charm or gravitas or care or concern or compassion. She will never draw the world's spotlight to her as she so desparately wants. It's not just a funny trainwreck, a portrait of extreme hubris to be used as an example to us all. It's a sad commentary on the state of royal Denmark. Daisy's always been defensive and self-protected, but as a woman of intellect and culture and with a full knowledge of the power of history, there has been reason to be proud of her as a monarch, if not feel fully warm towards her as a person. Mary's got nothing, and she forced this family to be kind to her, to take her in, not to help them and live a comfortable, charming life, but to suck them dry, beat them up and spit them out. Careful, Daisy. You've got to take matters into your own hands and get rid of her before you are too old and weak to do it. Fred with help can be better, and if not, Joachim is your truly royal son, the Schackenborgs will make you proud. Denmark will survive.

Looker MeMeMeMeMe! Tour #8,503, Days Three and Four: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

2013-10-27T21:00:00.000-07:00

"Uh, why am I being ignored? What just happened? How is Fred suddenly the most charming of us two? Why aren't people paying attention to me? I AM CONFUSED."

Sad little outing for Mary at the Alannah and Madeline Foundation today. Then one all about twins rights or some such bull hokey. Ostensibly. This is still The Mary Show. Not for Denmark, not for Australia. Not for twins, nor for children. Everyone and everything is a prop. A motherfucking prop. Even Fred. But Fred knows it, and he knows now to just let this all play out for Mary to take centre stage. This could play very well into his hands. Fred and Daisy must play the long game. Mary is only concerned about now and herself.

For Mary to make sure Lene Balleby (the palace PR flunkie who is in Oz with the couple, as you will see from the Sunday's photies) has sent out all the proper signals to the Aussies on the ground to buy plenty of flowers, make sure the paper Dannebrog flags that were loaded up onto the plane in Copenhagen are distributed to every stop's rent-a-crowd. You know, to give the Danish audience back home the idea that every single Australian is always ready to greet Princess Mazza with the orchids and Danish flags that they have hanging around the house, or that they can buy at the corner market as soon as they hear that this dainty, humble, precious creature is in town. Even when their house is a smoldering pile of ash. Because that's how loved the Danish crown princess really is. Oh, Danish media! Oh, Mary's PR team! The stupid! It burns!

Because yes, Mary cut short Saturday's activities - which weren't going well anyway being with children types - in order to re-group and pow-wow with the team on how to get their arses over to the fire zone and be what even Diana couldn't be: Saviour of NSW Families. It's all so bloody cynical, and yet it's all so fucking true. Dis.gust.ing. But that's our Mary, Narcissist Extraordinaire!

So Sunday before the Opera House celebrations - pretty low key looking at most of the assembly sitting on Opera steps, or in plastic chairs, all in fairly casual clothing - Mary and Fred went north of Sydney to a fire zone a couple of hours after Lene and crew (maybe even including Amber for some extra cash?) went up there to hand out Danish flags and some boxed flowers (orchids are Madam's favourite) and get someone to start a big "Hip Hip Hooray" for Princess Mary. Not even fucking Derfie. Joizus. What a nasty circus. Then Mary is ugly and self involved enough to tell everyone that she was happy that she could bring a smile to their faces. Holy scuzballs. If this weren't actually true, and something that someone had made up, you'd think it were a lie, it's so grotesque and disgusting and vile and revolting and absolutely reprehensible. But truth is stranger than fiction, and Mary is stranger than most people, so there you have it. A total, absolute nutcase is what Mary is showing the world (or the teensiest percentage of the world who gets these news stories) she really is.

Looker MeMeMeMeMe! Tour #7,403, Day Two: Sluuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrppppsons and Amber Appear for Jools, Fred Who?, and Tired Tanja: Obvious PR and Slurp-Fest

2013-10-25T15:00:00.000-07:00

"Hi Mary! Sorry if we stole your thunder! First Harry, then George, then bushfires, now us. Sucks to be you!"

Mazza is PUMPED, you guys. Home at last, in new clothes, the rent-a-crowds are showing up on schedule, and Jane and Patty and Amber have finally made their public debut at the Ole Lyngaard boutique opening. Jane was wearing Marianne Dulong earrings, but no matter. Other freebies were in store for the four sluurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrpppers, certainly.

Our gal is ON, and really working the crowds, milking the moment with cameras around, with people handing her flowers on cue, with all the little Danish and Australian flags all Aussies just carry around with them for spontaneous eruptions of patriotism and an indication - ok, just in Mary's mind - that they really want the DRF instead of the BRF. Yet, how many came out for Harry? Million or so? Wonder if Harry had to pay his PR firm to pay people to show up, like Mary does?

Funny to see the photies at the bottom of this post, the ones with "Prince Franz" and "Vicki" on a sailboat, taken from a long distance. Mary's smile has disappeared, Fred has taken the lead since it's one of his favourite activities, and Mary slinks into a funk just as they gain their always vaunted "private time". It's like they just read Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom's breakup has garnered more hits than them. Boohoo! That's the real Mary, the one with a face that is both tighter than a tick, and looks like it's melting. Cheers!

Looker MeMeMeMeMe! Tour #5,941, Day One: Forget Goddamned George, the Bushfires and Tony Abbott, I'M HERE: Cue the Cute Kids Handing Me Flowers and Gifts. NOW.

2013-10-24T10:00:00.000-07:00

"Of course, I am deeply concerned about the, uh, the, uh, cue cards, Sparky!"

Maz's last text to Sparky, her Sydney PR guru, was sent right as she was boarding the plane in Copenhagen. It said to "empty schools, give the little buggers flowers and cameras, tell them to snap snap snap away, cheer LOUD, find someone from Hobart I went to school with, preferably a sheila so people will stop saying I don't have female friends and ask her to hug me when I give the signal - actually, check all my school rosters against the obituaries, see if you can find someone with a dead rello - put up serious barricades so no one else hugs me, make sure all paparazzi are credentialed and have full access, and crank the sun a few degrees so it doesn't melt my makeup or cast bad shadows. I'll be slipping Fred a Xanax a few hours before so he doesn't overtake me. Make sure some big shots are seen in my vicinity, or if you can't find any, hire some actors and make them look impressed with me. Try to put out those fires, too, whydoncha? I cannot afford for a damn baby and some wildfires to steal my thunder. You got it, Sparky?"

Daisy's last text (via secretary) to Franz said to "try and relax and take what you can that is positive. Enjoy the warm sun, the friendly people, all of the greetings by the actors and schoolkids your wife's PR team has hired for the "crowd" events. Don't touch her too much, do step back a few paces, make sure she takes the lead. I know that will not be hard for her, but don't get in her way at all. Try not to do that dreaded hand holding. Those paws have always terrified your papa and me. Be as galant and princely as I had Nanny Else raise you. Remember: 'enough rope'! Good luck, chéri. Oh, and never mind what I said months ago about the beard. Go ahead and keep it. Helps the affect that you've been made sick by this girl and need relief. That will play better into our hands when the time comes. Cheers, darling."

It's a MAZZAgasm! ARE YOU READY? Of course you are! The Danes and Danish press, however, might not be. It is quite clear that Madam prefers Australia to Denmark by leaps! The steadfast Danish press seem to be a little more willing than ever to let the side down. As do the fairy tale-exhausted Australian press. Enjoy!

It's Mary, the Girl Next Door

It took a few seconds to register this familiar face -- then the guard came down.

Princess Mary's carefully crafted royal demeanour suddenly gave way to spontaneity as she reached over the metal gates and warmly embraced a now-recognisable friend like an animated schoolgirl.

Princess Mary isn't just a professional bouquet receiver -- she likes to return the favour from time to time.

And yesterday, as the princess and her raggedy-bearded Crown Prince Frederik began their Australia tour on the steps of the Sydney Opera House, one of her floral-gift recipients had a chance to say a heartfelt and tearful thanks.

It was her neighbour.

Melanie Cleary grew up next door to Mary's family home in Hobart, where they forged a close relationship over childhood make-believe tea and the clash of hockey sticks.

Ms Cleary's mother died four months ago and she was touched to receive a bouquet of flowers from Mary and Fred.

"I thanked her for the bunch of flowers she and Frederik sent when my mother died. She said, 'You are welcome, and we are thinking of you'," Ms Cleary said.

"She's a normal Australian woman with normal family values and she has always been like that. I played hockey against her, I've grown up with her entire family. What has happen to her is remarkable, but she has retained a wonderful normality about her."

The first order of business for Mary was an off-the-cuff speech to the heroes of the NSW bushfires, and those who lost homes, expressing the royal couple's deepest sympathies.

Enthusiastic Australians: Welcome Home, Mary

Mary and Frederik will visit Australia in the coming days to celebrate the Opera House's 40th birthday.
It arouses enthusiasm in Crown Princess Mary's homeland.

On the occasion of the 40th celebration of the Danish-designed Opera House, Mary and Frederik have undertaken a packed five-day trip to the other side of the globe. And the royal couple were given a warm welcome Thursday morning (Thursday night Danish time , ed.), when they arrived in the port city of Sydney in Australia to celebrate the Danish designer Jørn Utzon's world-renowned architecture.

A large gathering of people stood ready with flowers, greetings and mobile cameras as the couple paid the Opera House the first official visit on their trip. The attendants waved both Danish flag and the Australian flag as they took pictures of Mary and Frederik, who posed patiently. Since the royal couple met at an Australian pub during the Olympic Games in 2000, Australia was captivated by the fairy-tale romance between the two.

During the five days in Australia the royal couple will visit, in addition to participating in the celebration of the Opera House 40th birthday, a children's hospital and a primary school. They are also present when the Danish jewelery designer Ole Lynggaard opens its flagship store in Sydney. This visit is the first time that the royal couple has visited Australia without their children. The last time the royal couple paid a visit to Princess Mary's home was in 2011.

Queen of Deception: Trine Villemann's Fabulous Poison Pen Recounts the Tale of "Crown Prince Franz" in an "Anonymous" Kingdom in Northern Europe: All Characters in This Story MAYBE MIGHT MAY Be Based on Actual Persons: You Decide, Dear Readers

2013-10-23T14:00:00.000-07:00

Our friend Trine Villemann is at it again! Her novel Queen of Deception is now out as an e-book, available via Amazon through a Kindle device or Kindle app. Click on the Amazon link to purchase, or for a free sneak peek through part of Chapter 3!

(Don't have a Kindle reader, you say? No problem! If you have a smart phone or tablet or PC, you can download the free Kindle app. Takes two seconds. From there, you can purchase an e-book that will be downloaded directly - wireless! - to the Kindle app for your reading pleasure.)

The story may (MAY) seem somewhat kinda familiar to you if you've been following this blog and/or Royal Dish for a while. Something about a spineless jelly fish whose mother is queen and spins some lies to keep up appearances which might normally be harmless as it's mostly all about the theatre of royal public life but then it hits our widdle protagonist hard in the gut causing severe pain that he is unable to treat either because he won't speak up and/or some weird macho can't-show-weakness thing from his tough daddy and/or because the evil, greedy succubus who latched onto him with the queen's help like a leech on an open wound prevented him from doing so and/or the Grey Men (TM) won't listen to him so then he starts drinking carousing and cavorting in most unroyal ways as the downward spiral continues. JUICY! Imagine if such a story were real! Oh wait!

As longtime readers, many of you know Trine well, and how she does not pull punches. Our girl is sharp-tongued, direct and not an enabler to BS. Her previous books have been a hit in both Danish and English, "1015 Copenhagen K" and "The King and Queen of Greenland". Now that you have that Kindle app, go ahead and download the book that Mary wanted banned! Well done, Trine!

Additionally, Trine's husband Malcolm Brabant has his own story to tell, and it is one of the most riveting true stories you'll read. "Malcolm is a Little Unwell" tells the story of Brabsie's decent into madness following a yellow fever jab. With humour and deep insight, Malcolm paints a stunning portrait of his and his family's life in Greece, Britain and Denmark before and after this tainted inoculation and the emotional toil it took on husband and wife, and their young son. Please support Malcolm and Trine's good works and ongoing legal struggles against Big Pharma by purchasing a few great reads for the upcoming weekend. What, you've got to have something to do while Mary's choosing which of her new freebie frocks is best for her Big Aussie Evening on Sunday!

Queen of Deception is the first novel by Danish royal author Trine Villemann. It’s a scandalous tale which focuses on the death bed regrets of the Queen of a small anonymous northern European kingdom, as well as the self destructive escapades of the country’s Crown Prince Franz.

Queen of Deception offers a dire glimpse of life behind the Palace walls, where the cancer stricken monarch, a victim of the most horrifying cruelty, has sacrificed her own happiness in order to fulfill her royal duty. Prince Franz is determined not to follow in his mother’s footsteps.

Sensitive and weak Franz is a reluctant heir to the throne. After a miserable childhood, living in fear of his strict and violent father, Duke Alfonso, and ignored by his cold mother, Franz fights tooth and nail to avoid his royal responsibilities. He seeks solace in alcohol, drugs and casual sex, and alarms his minders by surrounding himself with a sometimes criminal entourage. Franz falls in love with a nurse, but his desire to marry her is thwarted by the Palace and he ends up succcumbing to a highly ambitious foreign commoner called Vicki.

In her final days, the Queen realises that the web of deception she has spun is about to undermine the very institution that she has spent her life trying to protect.

Trine Villemann has earned a reputation as a controversial critic of Denmark’s Royal Family. Her first book, 1015 Copenhagen K, which exposed Crown Princess Mary’s in-laws as being a family of dysfunctional freeloaders, was a best seller in Denmark. Her second book, the King and Queen of Greenland, argued that Crown Prince Frederik and his Australian wife should go on an apprenticeship to Greenland so that they could prepare for the day when they would inherit the throne from Denmark’s Queen Margrethe.

Wonder if the e-book's sexy "nurse" character (excellent! nurturing and care-giving, just what Freddles needs) bears any resemblance to this young woman? RIGHT THIS WRONG, FRANZ!

Daisy Visits St. Alban's English Church in Copenhagen: Ostensibly to Celebrate Their Building Restoration, Actually to Exorcise the Slurpppppson Demons

2013-10-21T16:00:00.000-07:00

"Er, um, yes, well, right so, quite, well done, I suppose, yes, by jove, er, um, Darling?"

Well, if someone's going to get anything done in royal Denmark, it's up to the 73 year old, ailing queen. Henrik's off to Montreal to sell his swill, Fred's stuck to the floor of his dressing room with his valet trying to pneumatically remove the seal of the dried saliva connecting the wood floor to his mouth. Mary's off pilfering Copenhagen's finest boutiques so she'll have new frocks to wear in Australia, and the Schackenborgs have no doubt retreated to their quiet haven in the farthest reaches of the kingdom to continue teaching their children manners and reading skills (yay, lille Henrik! You can already read!).

So on the eve of Madam La Boganne's Looker Me! Tour #4,562 whereby the daughter-in-law from hell is essentially sitting in for Cousin Lillibet who inaugurated the Sydney Opera House in 1973, Daisy is taking extreme action. She has coordinated with the Bishop of the Anglican Church in Copenhagen to rid the country and their little parish of the Presbyterian, Pictish demons haunting both Daisy's royal thinggie and the British Royal Family's Australian thinggie. Granted, Daisy's British cousins don't have much longer down under, but why go out on such a sour note with Boganson hands out waiting for favours? But since everything came to such a strange and ugly head back in March 2012 when Mary's parents, the Sluuurrrrrrrrrrpsons, left their converted goat barn avec satellite dish in the shadow of the Chateau de Cayx and arrived at St. Alban's in order to be pulled from the crowds by court gray men in order to meet the Prince of Wales and his wife, then Daisy knew something had to be done. Mazza was flying high from the birth of the Miracle Twins and hadn't yet been subdued by Derfie's infidelity on the eve of the christening in April.

How grotesque and completely not at all comme il faut for Mary to slip her strange slurping parents into the spotlight. Sister had gotten too big for her Louboutins. Daisy knew well to strike not immediately after that March 2012 tragedy, which was the final straw in a series of gate-crashing incidents Jock 'Half-Mast' Donaldson and the Dumpling have participated in. Timed to proceed this next Looker Me! Tour, the juju should keep the Boganson spirits from haunting the DRF while Mary and Fred's carcass are soon in Sydney. Thanks, too, to Cousin Charles for agreeing to hold little George's christening just before the tour begins. Best of luck to all those in Oz affected by the recent wildfires, aka, devil revelry on the cusp of Maz's arrival for more Aussie publicity. Daisy will surely send a gift basket to the Anglican Archibishop in Australia to try to keep thattie in check. With Madam, she'll think the entire country has set up celebratory bonfires for her arrival back "home".

Queen Margrethe At Evensong

Queen Margrethe inaugurated the newly restored Anglican Church at Churchill Park in Copenhagen, and participated in the traditional Evensong.

It was an enthusiastic Queen Margrethe, who on Sunday afternoon arrived at 4:04 at St. Alban's Church, where restoration of the Anglican Church was celebrated.

The day marked the completion of the restoration work, which recently was conducted in the church , and so the queen came to participate in the so-called evensong.

The pulpit, altar and baptismal font in particular have undergone restoration, and was all that the Queen had occasion to look at when first she came in - after being received by Bishop Dr. Geoffrey Rowel and priests Jonathan Lloyd and Ulla Monberg.

Evensong, which means vespers and is still in reserve in the Church of England, consists of one or more David hymns, the Song of Mary and the Song of Simeon.

After the ceremony, which took about an hour, the Queen also signed the church's guest book - which in 1887 was first signed by Prince Edward and Princess Alexandra (born a princess of Denmark) in connection with the church's consecration.

Thanking Bishop Dr. Goeffrey Rowel

Lovely church!

When Charles and Camilla were in Denmark to celebrate the Queen's (QEII) 60th Jubliee, they met Danish and Danish-based WWII veterans after church. What fine heroes!

D'oh! Then the furry, badly-dentured marsh people from Scotland's north shore presented themselves!

Look at Christian Eugen-Olsen pulling Camilla toward this strange couple on Mary's orders!

Camilla is a pro turning on a quick smile ...

...but keeps her distance. Good instincts, Cam!

There they are in the background with Daisy's master of ceremonies!

Hm, wonder if putting the Sluuuurrrrrrrppsons up front is why Christian Eugen-Olsen is the former master of ceremonies?

"Aye! While no one's looking, I'll throw some dirt, too, make it look like I'm on the A Team!"

"We are so IN."

Denial Ain't Just A River In Egypt: Frederik Has A Problem, And He Needs Help Immediately And Mary Is An Enabler Because A Strong, Sober Fred Is A Threat To Her Greedy Survival

"Pff, this is rough, man. What do I do?"

Poor dumb, sick, sad, helpless Fredikins. Caught between the Scylla and Charybdis of Madame MoreMore, Countess of For-Profit Aussie Marketing and Publicity Agreements, Succubus Extraordinaire, and of being a future king with responsibilities that go beyond making good time in the Copenhagen Marathon. What's our sad-sack to do? First, take a bashing in the press!

Trine is no enabler! As you well know if you were smart enough to download a copy of her husband's e-book "Malcolm is a little unwell", whereby Brabant accounts her loving, but no bullshit attitude to his decline into quasi-functional mental illness. I'd say, Trine knows of what she speaks when giving Derfie a big dose of much-needed medicine!

First, the article about how Derfie won 200,000 kroner - for himself, not any foundation or charity - from the Polka Verner scholarship for being, ahem, a 'modern man'. Then enjoy Trine's Politiken column laying into Freddles for the unbearable contradictions between the award and how he lives his life. Then a little more insight from court-approved Billed Bladet into how Derfie's motivation is quite stagnant and slack. Laying the groundwork for the post-Mary years?

Article: Politiken

Crown Prince Frederik is this year's recipient of the 'Polka Verner Grant'.

Polka Verner scholarship

Crown Prince Frederik is "a modern man who, with his way of living his life and his commitment to the outside world is very much to inspire others and spread the joy and excitement around it."

This is the motivation behind the award of this year's 'Polka Verner Grant' to Crown Prince Frederik.

The scholarship was established by Kirsten Lehfeldt and Seas Egelind in 2002 and is one of the greatest legacies of the musical scene.

The previous recipients of the scholarship, almost all had a much clearer linking to the music - among other Erling Erlang & Trio, Stig Moller, Otto Brandenburg, Henning Strong, MC Einar and Peter Sommer received the scholarship, and in this context is the crown prince little outside .

Crown Prince Frederik has pre-determined that he gives scholarship money on to the support of Danish music. More precisely, to whom will be published in the autumn.

The scholarship is just over 200,000. The money comes from auctions online as well as donations from the festival and its partners.

It's Kirsten Lehfeldt and Seas Egelind and people from Skanderborg Festival, which decides scholarship recipient.

Trine Villemann Column: Politiken

Dear Frederik,

Excuse the casual form of address, but I read that you recently received an award because you are a 'modern man', as it says in the press release, so it's probably okay to use the informal you?

In fact, I'd like to know what qualifies a human anachronism to be called 'a modern man'? Is it because you have sent your royal offspring to public school? Or because you have a tattoo on your leg?

The people behind the Polka Verner Grant of 200,000 kroner, write that you have received the honourary prize because you all are a "modern man who, with his way of living his life and his involvement in the community, greatly helps to inspire others and spread joy and excitement around it."

I can not discern what it is about your pampered and privileged lifestyle that can inspire others, but here I am by now a lonely voice in a kingdom where very, very many people care about you, just because you do not hesitate to be who you are. You get hoots when you get married and turn black when you have to perform in front of a wider audience.

The more you do, the more popular you become. It takes a special talent to turn your weaknesses into strengths, but you have it.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Constitution's political tagging has become a ubiquitous excuse to never engage you in anything meaningful?

A poll in the Sunday Politiken recently revealed that more than 70 percent of Danes now believe that you are ready to be king. It is a recognition that commits, but the question is what you will use all of the tailwind to do Frederik? Should there be even more sailing races? The opposite used even more?

Or should the favorable wind be used for redirecting so you can steer toward more constructive waters?

It's never been easy being you. You have been the darling of many Danes just because of your difficult upbringing with a distant mother and a harsh papa .

That's probably why we so often forgive you when you screw up, but you are no longer a rootless and helpless teenager in search of happiness but a man caught in the middle of life's crossroads. And your downtime has unfortunately become a symbol of the royal family's current state.

You are of course in many ways trapped by your position. Your freedom of movement is restricted.

You should for example be apolitical, but am I the only one who thinks that the Constitution's political tagging has become a ubiquitous excuse to never engages you in anything meaningful?

Perhaps due to your inactivity that you have realized that you represent an institution that should not even exist in today's modern democracy, but democracy is not solely based on vote counts , its strength lies in the quality of the moral compass majority guided by .

Can you really like human decency guest a political regime in which their emotions and behavior is a crime? It appears you and your family for good, for we Danes are decent, a little loony good people who seem content with even the most insignificant bits and pieces from you at Amalienborg, but dare you bet your future existence to the last?

There have been so many disappointments along the way, Frederik. Not least your stubborn insistence on becoming a member of the IOC. I - and according to opinion polls just about half of the kingdom - have always believed that this membership will end in tears.

It looks like we may well start pulling our handkerchiefs out, for with the latest developments in Russia there is a risk that Putin's rot will spread to the foundation under the royal family, that you one day will head.

Whatever guarantees the Russian government has issued to the International Olympic Committee to the controversial law on homosexual, it will not affect the athletes and visiting guests during the Winter Olympics in Sochi, so you completely undermine the respect and the goodwill that surrounds you and the monarchy if you choose to show up in Sochi.

The Crown Prince of Denmark can not under any circumstances by his presence endorse a political regime that pursues gay. This is something your advisors should have told you long ago, Frederik, but you are allowed to think for yourself.

You have in your close circle of friends, men who love men and women who love women. Can you really like human decency and also be a guest of a political regime in which their emotions and behavior is a crime? And here we are at the core, Frederik.

You are crown prince, you are a member of the IOC , but you are first and foremost a human being - Now take a leap and show us all that there is hope for you and for the royal family and stay away from Sochi 2014.

Crown Prince Frederik Has Trouble With Motivation

The sports-happy prince has got trouble putting running gear on and getting out the door.

"I feel that there must be something to motivate me. It is essential that there is a kind of objective to the whole."

That is a little surprising from the Danish sports-happy Crown Prince Frederik. He is known to often carry extreme sports performance as marathon running without problems, but now he is failing to even put his running shoes on.

"In particular strength, as one of my age should exercise regularly, I find it hard to force myself to. I always thought it was awful boring, and it's harder for me to get myself into a power centre for doing weights. In the same way I have always believed that running on the treadmill was almost sacrilege. Here in Denmark one could run outside 360 days a year. But now I would like to admit that I was a little cold more", says crown prince to Extra Bladet.

Now Frederik has accepted the treadmill. He cultivates strength - and runs on the treadmill - at a fitness center in Copenhagen.

Politiken Reports That A Monarchy Expert Claims The Danish Royal House Is A Modern Media Dynasty, But the Cracks in That Facade Are Too Obvious

2013-10-18T08:00:00.000-07:00

Real messaging going on regarding the Danish Royal Family in thissie! Lots of food for thought here! Speaks directly to the royal facade and how it's not always going so well. They speak fairly directly about Fred and Yrma's "marriage" and about how tradition says you fake it so you make it. Well, so much about doing what's right for Derfie's health and chucking Madam into the drink! This gives a good history and backgroud to the sycophancy that happens even to this day. They remind that when Daisy and Henri got married, there was only one TV channel, so naturally, 8 hours of a grand wedding will tick off the republicans and forever charm the romantics of the nation.

Very insightful observations here, too. The royals have always been clueless about being "normal"! And they are absolutely right that the very things many of us love - photies of them all glammed up at weddings and galas and the candids at the Olympics and other biggie occasions - are the very things that contribute to them being party hounds who have no worry in the world except how to match their dress to their blue Elephant Order ribbon. Pas på, Daisy!

The Royal House Is a Modern Media Dynasty

For over 150 years, the royal family lived by and with the great media exposure
by Jes Fabricius Møller, Associate Professor of History at Saxo Institute, University of Copenhagen , specialising in European monarchies recent history, in particular

Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid were characterised by the fact that they already as the crown princely couple had developed a much more active relationship with the media than we had previously been accustomed to.

It was much more common to see pictures of the royal family in everyday situations, it became an increasingly central feature of the royal family to represent values that the average Dane could identify with.

In 1949 the School of Radio was invited inside Amalienborg at the home of the young royal family. Frederik IX looked around it, which according to him "in fact does not differ so very much from an ordinary normal Danish home". So far so good, but the king immediately continued, "here we are on the first floor, the one with the tapestries", and so any semblance of normality with the Danish evaporated.

That error at the king's hand was not that he had tapestries hanging, but he showed no understanding that it was something special to have them. It was a mistake that did not recur. Frederik IX and Queen were generally very good at their job. Famous are the images where you can see the king hugging his wife who he could find to call Queen Ingrid, and the relationship between the parents and three daughters was also openly affectionate. Although the scenography was a royal ship or a castle, it represented the family life that many Danes either had or wanted to have.

The trend began in the early 1800s, and during the 20th century, it was an outright rarity that royal allowed him- or herself portraying the specific characteristics of their dignity: ermine, orb, crown or scepter. Family values are replaced in part the dynastic family model where the interests of national or dynastic interests prevail over the individual prince or princess . This makes it a way, still to a certain extent . But it's just as well been extremely important that royal families are also happy, or at least can pretend that they are an ideal family.

Far from all royal marriages being happy, but it helps undeniably, if there is a correlation between the real family and mediated family. For the same reason, it is essential for a modern royal marriage, there is a feeling based connection, what you call a love match and not an arranged marriage.

The public will only accept a royal marriage if it is likely that it is based on mutual and equal emotional appeal. If this attraction is not available, it is said to be essential that one can pretend. Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer's wedding in 1981 is a good example. The marriage was by all accounts a rational party from the beginning , and it would probably have been possible to maintain the illusion of a love match, as long as both parties had been willing to accept the premise from the beginning.

Indiscriminate pandering is not necessarily in the royal family's own interest. For the generation that Frederik IX belonged to, there was the added challenge that it was not yet acceptable for royal - and certainly not for heirs to the throne - to marry below their rank, even with nobility.

It restricted the supply of potential spouses. But at the same time there was built up in the public an expectation that the crown prince entered into a love match.
He did indeed, as he in 1923 fell for the Greek princess Olga and got his father and the Danish Government's consent to marry her. However, the slowdown of his emotions was quick, and he broke it off with her. This was no great scandal, yet enough for the Danish crown prince to remain a bachelor for many years to come.

The ten years younger Swedish Princess Ingrid was a hot topic on the European royal marriage market. She was a modern woman who looked good, smoke cigarettes and drove cars. She was in the press associated with several prominent royal bachelors, among others, the British Prince George. He ended up marrying Olga's sister, Marina, a marriage that took the European public, because the couple outwardly lived up to the ideals of the Enlightenment. Later on it was found that this is far from the case.

Also, Crown Prince Frederik was a hot name on the rumours, and he was now linked with the Swedish princess. In January 1935, Berlingske Tidende had so much faith in rumours about an upcoming engagement, the newspaper dared to put the story on the front page of the paper's width and with the greatest types: 'The crown prince engaged to Princess Ingrid'. The newspaper should not have. Next day, the humble print a retraction issued by the Cabinet office. The sweat in Sværtegade! In March of that year it was now Politiken's turn to put the rumour of Ingrid and Frederik on the front page as the main story: 'Toay at 10am the Crown Prince's engagement to Princess Ingrid was declared'. This time the rumours were true. Or you'd be better off saying that Politiken had an exceptionally good source for the newspaper and could quote a private telephone conversation between the Danish Crown Prince and his future fiancee as evidence of history. The interesting thing is that the newspaper shamelessly admitted that it had in that way slipped into the royals' private lives.

In the Politiken newspaper in Stockholm, Paul Sabroe, who wrote under the name The Golden Blonde, described the engagement as if there was a sports reportage. He took among other time how long it took the first kiss, as the fiancée exchanged at the railway station in Södertälje. This ironic approach to politics meet audience needs to get curiosity made without alienating the Republican segment among the many radical readers away.

One of the best examples of this style comes from Politiken reports from a great trip to Jutland, which Frederik VIII, in collaboration with the Head of Government, left the man JC Christensen, in 1908. Christensen had been eagerly awaiting the king's political wagon. The trip was intended to sell a defense to the Liberal-skeptical hinterland. The radicals were then in opposition, and the party newspaper had sent one of their sharpest pens, Andreas recovery that began its depiction of the royal visit to Varde as follows:
'The king arrived early this morning at Varde, where people from all over Jutland were summoned together to see him and the big agricultural fair. The town for the occasion was coated with garlandry as for the better funerals. Outside Ligkistesnedkerens Boutique, a row of Christmas trees was planted, in place of honour at the gates was placed what looked to be a heavily drunken Norwegian lion, which on closer inspection turns out to be Vardes city arms'.

For in just a few lines to associate death, burial and drunkenness, he managed to recover from the beginning an impression of a sad and amateurish performance where the royal family appeared as parallels to the show's dumb prize cows and thus powerful extras in the newspaper's campaign against the government of general and JC Christensen in particular.

It was released for the press in the early 20th century. The papers were then unfeigned organs of party interests, and the royal family were shown not spared. However, it will come as no surprise to most that one of the strongest attacks on the royal family came from told the paper. There was in 1909 created what might be called a moral panic in Copenhagen over the rumours of widespread gay sex that was spoken about, not least in the Copenhagen garrisons. The paper went so far as to hire two private investigators who examined the spread of immoral behaviour in the Regiment.

The newspaper's investigative journalism did not bear as many fruits as hoped. Only a few 'perverse males' were detected and removed. The newspaper The Social Democrat mingled and did not fail to insinuate that homosexuals like used game with the Royals and the higher nobility. Told the paper facing persistent, but indirect accusations against Prince Harald of having ties to the gay community, with the understanding that the prince himself was gay. The magazine's editor, Mr. Matthiesen, was accused of also having plastered private detectives in Prince Harald's life, which he denied.

Matthiesen ended up being charged and sentenced to three months in prison for insulting the monarchy, but acquitted of having spied on Prince Harald.

Prince Harald had to return to live with gossip about his sexuality, a fate he had to share with many other royals before and since. It is probably most famous example comes from Sweden. Gustav V paid in the 1930s large amounts of money to a man who threatened to hang the king out as gay. The case came to light after the king's death in 1950, and proved just as devastating to the King's legacy as if the blackmailer had done it threatened.

The story shows how exposed the Royals are in the modern media reality. The royal family enjoys perhaps judicial immunity, but they are brought to the public's merciless court daily.

The media revolution had begun already in the 1860s. A new technique, wood carving, allowed the reproduction of images in a high quality, large warehouses and at short notice. It was used by Illustrated Journal, Denmark's first illustrated weekly magazine, which started to appear in 1859.

The King substance filled from beginning well up in the columns, and especially the big weddings gave rise to great articles with full-page reportage images. By Frederik and Ingrid's wedding in 1935 was the radio come. There were half a million radio licenses in Denmark, and it means that almost the entire population had access to listen to todays ceremony in Stockholm, which was published in both Danish and Swedish radio.

Royal dominance in the media culminated by heir to the throne, Princess Margrethe's wedding in 1967. On the actual wedding day, 10 June, Danish television broadcasted a total of six half -hour television broadcasts. There was, as we know, only one channel then. Of them, there were a half-hour children's broadcasting and about half an hour news. The rest were broadcasting from the wedding ceremony in the Church of Holmen, the reception at Fredensborg and a Danish-French gala evening.

This means that 85 percent of its output on Danish television that day was busy with the heiress's wedding. Although today sent several hours from the royal events on the major channels , there nevertheless has a lesser impact on the ikkeroyalt minded viewers' patience because the royal transmissions represents a relatively small proportion of the total TV viewing. But even under the conditions drag king substance is still very large audiences. About half of the population follows the example. Queen's speech in one of the live broadcasts. It is quite exceptional in an otherwise fragmented media reality.

I know DR and TV2, and therefore the rates they also continue on a massive coverage of the royal events. They are usually quite critical angle to the material they cover. Benevolent presenters and experts are trying as much as possible to get three, four or five hours to go with mostly polite generalities. It is no easy or particularly grateful genre to move in.

Indiscriminate pandering is not necessarily in the royal family's own interest. If media consumers do not have anything but the photos of the big parties, it is clear that they are easily left with the impression of the royals as useless triflers who lives a life of luxury at taxpayers' expense.

At the same time the royal family as the entire public sector is facing a new era of business logic that requires result-oriented efficiency and profitability.

Do we get value for money? The task that the royal family is facing is to convince the public that they have a real feature and adds the community a real value. It is not easy.

**********

And some comments from the website:

1. Anachronism
The Royal Family is and will be a ridiculous anachronism. And like any other anachronisms becomes more and more hilarious and ridiculous over time.Monarchy can easily be dispensed with. There is no reason that we should let it replace a president. The only real state judicial function the royal family has, is to hold a "King's Round" after an election - that is where the party leaders in turn show up at Amalienborg to point to a royal investigator who must explore the possibilities of forming a government. Margrethe says, however, just hello and goodbye - for upon entering, the respected party leaders tell the Lord Chamberlain who they will point to.This feature could appropriately be left to the Supreme Court President - and VIPs are no justification for the royal family disappearing.

2. It may be dispensed with ..."Do we get value for money? The task that the royal family is facing is to convince the public that they have a real feature and add a real value to the community. It is not easy."Our relationship with the royal house as well as our relationship to smoking in restaurants and discos in the 90s: inconceivable that it could be abolished - but now that it has happened, unthinkable that it can be inserted ...The monarchy rests on a habit. Habits are hard to change, but the new generation of monarchs have , with their luxury life and manageable tasks that do not add real value to society, made the first step. The monarchy door will shut with Margrethe II, but the media will probably keep it alive for many years after, because there is money in the shit.

2a. Answer: They are dispensable ...
I can easily follow your post here. But then I could well imagine and know what you want as an alternative to the Royal Family. For you must not tell that it will be cheaper by a president or the like. I am unfortunately here in "the same ditch."

2b. Answer: They are dispensable ...
For me the price is not the most important thing. A president can act politically and comment as well. It is what we choose her or him, and it involves significant tasks that have real value (hopefully, otherwise we trip over him / her).Finland and many other countries are doing brilliantly as republics, and the royal family has never been able to demonstrate real value.

2c. Answer: They are dispensable ...Of course a president is cheaper. One should not pay the whole the presidential family - and since you generally chooses a politician who through many years of seem has earned the reward to the record, it is also limited, how many years he or she subsequently must have a pension. A president need not be selected through an animalistic election campaign. One can for example use the German model, where the President is appointed. Some object that it is undemocratic. But the royal house is also.

Happy 8th Birthday, Prince Christian!

Ziggy's a beautiful dog!

Happy Birthday, Prince Christian. Sorry your mummy's such a crap photographer. She has no idea how to use light, or to make her subjects relaxed and have fun. Oh well, you did your duty to sit for her. You and your sister Josephine are definitely the most Donaldson of all the children. Good luck with that. Listen to Daddy when he's not passed out, and try not to worry too much as you look more and more like your grandpappy Professor Jock 'Half-Mast' Boganson. Just be thankful for the mathematical gifts and plan a career that focuses your energy on engineering or genetics or whatever field you think would be a good match for your special skills. There are plenty of jobs out there where you can stay in a lab or classroom and not have to interact too much. Hang out with Izzy and her friends. Try not to get too blinded by all the freebies that come your way. There's too much of that going on. Have a great birthday and enjoy Australia! Stay away from Auntie Amber. I mean, be nice to her now, but stay away as you get older. You already have too many bad influences in your life, why take on more?
