Dark Bridges Film Festival is Saskatchewan's premiere showcase of cool independent and foreign genre films. In 2009 Dark Bridges celebrated its launch with the Saskatchewan Premiere of Grace and the Canadian Premiere of Ink along with four short films. In 2010 the 1st annual festival was held which showcased 12 Feature films: Centurion, Dawning, El Monstro Del Mar!, Werewolf Fever, High School, Death of the Dead, [REC], [REC 2], Long Pigs, A Film With Me In It, Black Field as well as the The Good, The Bad, The Weird. In addition, 7 Saskatchewan short films and 20 World short films received their Saskatchewan Premiere at the festival. Our 2nd annual festival showcased 15 feature films: 13 Assassins, Beauty Day, Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame, Mandrill, Rabies, Sennentutschi: Curse of the Alps, Stake Land, Super, The Corridor, The Millennium Bug, The Woman, TrollHunter, True Legend, Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil and Victims as well as 26 shorts from Saskatchewan, Canada and around the world
The Third Annual Dark Bridges Film Festival runs May 3rd through 6th 2012. Yes that is right, we are moving to spring so there are only a few more months until our third annual festival. Plans for next year's festival include an afternoon discussion session and our amazing Zombie Walk!

Over 800 votes were collected from the festival attendees immediately after each screening and also using an online survey.
In addition to our annual festival, Dark Bridges brings cool films to Saskatchewan through a midnight screening series. Over the past year we have presented midnight screenings of Black Christmas (1974), Harry Brown, Frozen and The Loved Ones. Each midnight screening also includes a short film screening and prize give aways.

Have you made a feature or short film that just does not fit into the mainstream Cineplex theatre? If you have and if your film has not screened in Saskatoon then you should be sending it in for submission as soon as possible.
We are looking for cool films of all lengths to show during both our midnight series and also for our
annual festival.
We do not charge an entry fee and encourage local, national and international submissions.
The Deadline for Submissions is February 28th, 2012 but please submit your film as soon as possible.
