Beauty and the Beast

Back from a field trip, I'm excited to know that Hideo Kojima revealed the bosses for Metal Gear Solid 4 last week during GC 2007 at Leipzig, Germany. Known as Beauty and the Beast Unit, the bosses are beasts, but underneath they are beauties.

The boss design for MGS series never seized to amaze me. This time more wild and animal-like. They are human transformed by battle or war victims.

I'm not posting anymore pictures of the beasts cos it's better to watch the beasts in action. The video is in WMV format. I've added the video at the end of the page but the beast part only appears at the second half of the trailer. These characters are actually based on real life beauties from different parts of the world.

Lyndall Jarvis, a model for American and Europeans brands such as 'Guess', 'Bebe' and 'Ella Moss'.

Scarlett Chorvat, a fashion model who performed in advertisements like 'Ritz Carlton', 'Lee Jeans' and 'Diet Coke'. Also performed in some movies and TV dramas like 'Entourage' and '24'.

Mieko Rye, a fashion model, featured in Maxim.

Last but not least, a Japanese babe- Yumi Kikuchi (菊地由美). Graduated from New York, Tokyo based DJ, actress, and Hidechan Radio host.

Fräulein Revoltech

With the release of Saber, Saber Alter and Yotsuba, you may think the second line of Revoltech is dedicated for female characters but wait till you see this new line of Revoltech, Fräulein Revoltech. The new Revoltech line was revealed by Kaiyodo during the Wonder Festival 2007 Summer.

Revoltech Rin Tosaka from Fate/stay night and Revoltech Rei Ayanami from Evangelion.

The Revoltech uses better revolver joint and it seems that the joints are well hidden. I guess Kaiyodo releases this ladies edition Revoltech to compete with recently established Max Factory's Figma. The Revoltech Rei reminds me of Volks Rei.

Wonder Festival 2007 Summer

The long awaited event is finally happening again. I'm so busy with looking at the event reports from various websites. Lucky I had a submission today and I can spare my time checking out the picture galore. Here are some of the highlights taken from various websites.

Kotobukiya is making a Seena figure as well and it looks gorgeous. There's a picture of Kureha between both Kotobukiya 1/8 Seena and Xecty figures. Does this indicate that Kotobukiya is making Kureha figure as well? Max Factory hasn't reveal 1/7 Seena figure yet but at least we get to know that the pose is sekushi! Other than that, Max Factory is also planning to release Crauchet figure from Ar Tonelico 2.

Finally, a figure for Claymore. The sword and cloak probably can be taken out. Its still not detail enough for me to buy it and I don't like the gap line on her head. Clare's eyes are wicked! To be released on November with the price of 5,775 yen, by MegaHouse. What's next? Theresa, Miria?

Gundam 00 @ Gundam Expo Tokyo 2007

Here are a few images from the trailer shown during the Gundam Expo Tokyo 2007, taken from Famitsu.com. The trailer features the opening song, "DAYBREAK'S BELL" by L'Arc-en-Ciel. New characters (as seen in Newtype magazine) are revealed other than the characters we've seen in the previous trailers. As usual, Haro will appear in Gundam 00, as Lockon's companion. Gundam 00 will begin broadcast on 6th October 2007. Not really a fan of Gundam but I hope to see the trailer soon.

New Semester=Assignments=Busy

I haven't get any free time to update my blog since I started on my new semester on Monday. Luckily I don't have to wait long to get back the internet service as everyone went back to hometown during holiday and no one pays the bills. Everything starts to get busy again, I might not be able to update my blog as frequent as before. Still, I managed to get some time to watch Code Geass episode 24 and 25. Both episodes are awesome despite ending with cliffhangers. Now we have to wait again...for the sequel. Just can't get enough of it, at least I get to watch Claymore (^_^)

I have a new subject for this semester in which I have to learn photography, besides making models. This may be a good chance for me to practice and learn, so that I can take good shots of my figures. I hope that I don't have to get SLR just for that subject. Why does this course cover in so many fields?!! Well, enough of the ramblings, (for Hikki fans) here's the full PV for 'Kiss & Cry' but you don't get to see her in it as it's the theme song for FREEDOM. Can't wait to see Beautiful World PV and my September figure haul.

Since this is the only interesting news yesterday, I finally decided to mention about these figures as both figures looks impressive. Most of you may have already seen this from Moeyo as the entry was posted about half a day ago. It seems like Max Factory will also produce the 1/8 scale figure for Kiritsugu Emiya, other than the Saber we've seen earlier. Looks like the stand for both figures can join together. Fate series fans must be overjoyed by now...

It's sad that the full song leaked so early before the release date. Same thing goes to the other 2 tracks. I don't buy her single but I buy her album and I always try to get the Japanese version. It's not common in my country to buy singles. Some chinese singles usually include previous songs and a few extra just to make it look like album so that people feel that it's worth to buy. Ignis the Black

Yeah..another variation of Ignis is coming out, other than the original Ignis the White and Wonder Fest 2007 Summer exclusive Ignis the Red. However Ignis the Black is only Hobby Japan mailorder exclusive. I'm not fond of Ignis the White but I think the Ignis the Red looks better as it shows off the texture through the colour. Maybe not in the scan, it looks dark with the background. As for the black Ignis, I don't like it at all especially the hair colour.

I guess I can skip this month figures update as HD covers most of the popular figures. Both Shirley and Suzaku resin kits look great. I already mentioned Kotobukiya 1/8 Xecty yesterday. Kyon's sister doesn't even have a name and she gets a bunny suit figure...LOL

Kotobukiya 1/8 Xecty Ein

Looks like a battle between Max Factory and Kotobukiya over Shining Wind PVC figures. Another Shining Wind figure is revealed by Kotobukiya before MF 1/8 Seena is shown. The figure looks great and it also comes with the Spirit King of the Wind. I just feel that she has a weird expression. I was hoping MF to make a figure of Xecty. I wonder if there'll be any figure of Seena with long hair as she looks quite sexy with it.

A few quick figures update here, it seems that Atelier-Sai will release another Haruhi figure. It's 1/6 (250mm) school uniform Haruhi with guitar. The prototype looks promising. Also due in late of November with the price of 7,560 yen. Next, Kaiyodo Mon-Sieur Bomé Collection No. 26 will be Yano Takumi's Akira. This figure looks great and Akira is so charming. Probably will be out in November.

The anime series is quite short and ended last month. The story is about a high school student who loves the sky very much and likes to take pictures of it. He meets a mysterious girl- Matsuri and found out later that she's a Yaka (Calamity of the Night).

The story starts off slow, looks like a normal romance story but in the later part, many secrets revealed and there are unexpected fights. It was in my spring anime watch list and I think it's enjoyable.

Metal Gear Online is Back!

The MGO server for North America was officially closed few months back but the MGO from MGS3: Subsistence was more like an experiment or the first step before Kojima brings it to MGS4: Guns of Patriots. Kojima Productions announced MGO closed beta during the Metal Gear 20th Anniversary Party today BUT it's only for JAPAN! Fans will get to play it eventually after MGS4 is released but how am I going to play?!!

The beta test will run from 20th August to 3rd September 2007 for 3,000 players only. Fans who live in Japan better click this link or this now and register before the closing date on August 6th. The game features up to 16 players. Read here for detailed info and here for more MGO pictures.

Speaking of the Metal Gear 20th Anniversary Party, I hope Kojima Productions Event Site will be updated with the MGS4 demo. You can check here for the picture fro mthe demo. I added a link for Metal Gear Solid 2: Bande Dessinee (digital comic for PSP) trailer at the sidebar. There's also a 3D MGS game for Japan. Other than that, Eva from MGS3 (set in 1964) returns in MGS4 (set in 2014). What happened to the sexy Eva?! Check her picture below...cough..cough...I have nothing to say. Everyone becomes so old now (X_X)

It's weird that I don't have any MGS figures. I wish that they would come out with a Metal Gear Ray figure. A chogokin would be great.

No news on MGS movie yet. The only thing known is it is currently under productions by Sony Pictures Entertainment. Kojima's choice of Viggo Mortensen as Solid Snake is a good idea but we never know who will be the actor. Let's just hope that Hollywood don't screw up AGAIN.

Resident Evil 5 Famitsu Scoop

Despite the new trailer from E3 2007, here's some scoops on Resident Evil 5 from Famitsu. The scans are everywhere on the net for quite some time now. It seems that the scans from Famitsu Taiwan are the easiest you can find. I don't mind if it's in chinese as long as I can read it (Click on the image for larger view).

If you watch the E3 trailer, you'd have know that the main character, Chris Redfield seems to be in the middle of conflict with the Africans. The story sets 10 years after the incident in Resident Evil. Chris is a member of a group called BSAA if you look closely at the batch on Chris' shoulder. The game enemies are neither zombies nor ganado but have human form and intelligence.

The game will be played from the perspective similar to Resident Evil 4 based on the scan below in which Chris appears on the left side of the screen. A female character is also revealed in the magazine. She will play a major role in the game. Jun Takeuchi said he had 'forgotten' her name during the interview (what?) but fans of the series can recognized her (Sherry Birkin in frozen capsule?) Frozen capsule always remind me of a boss (=.=) Anyway, she'll be the 'star' in the next trailer.

Light plays an important role in the gameplay as mentioned in previous interview. When Chris enters to a building from a bright surroundings, it will take a moment before he can adapt to the dark interior. Available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the game won't be released in 2008, perhaps in 2009. More will be revealed in the next trailer, can't wait for it!

Good Smile Company website has been updated with a preview of the upcoming Wonder Festival 2007 Summer exclusive merchandise. We'll see more Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu Nendoroids from GSC featuring Haruhi, Mikuru and Yuki in bunny suits (¥7,000). Only 2,000 units are available. As shown in 'July Quick Figurines Preview', 1,500 limited Nendoroid Saber Alter (¥3,000) will be sold during the event.

Max Factory will release summer uniform Haruhi (short sleeves) with extra acessories (¥6,000). Only 2,000 units available for sale. The set features a Haruhi figure with acessories including pen, Mikuru beam, signboards and neko. It seems that there's also an alternate color for Mai Shiranui figure (¥7,800) with only 1,500 units available.

Since I mention GSC and MF in this post, I don't want to miss out Alter although the news is older and I don't feel like posting Fate-related stuff. Well Alter is going to release 2 limited edition non-scale (14cm) Fate/Zero figures. Both figures are well sculpted but only limited to 2,500 units each. This should be hot among Fate-series fans. Fear not for those who can't get it as Max Factory's 1/8 version seems pretty good as well and it will be out on December. Lucky I'm not a fan for Fate-series.

Hikki's Website has been updated with a 45-seconds preview clip (WMP, REAL) of 'Beautiful World'. The cover art for Utada Hikaru's upcoming single 'Beautiful World/Kiss & Cry' was revealed as well. Some fans may have listen the preview clip from Barks Japan yesterday. You can also view the official trailer for the new Evangelion movie here. The song will begin airing on Japanese Radio and USEN beginning on Monday, July 23rd while the single will be out on August 29th.

I think the song doesn't sound bad for the movie. I hope that those discontent EVA fans can accept the song. From the cover art, Hikki reminds me of Rei Ayanami and her hairstyle is a bit weird. Really can't wait to listen the full song (*-*) -keep playing the preview clip-

UPDATED! 11:13PM- I just found out that a blogger who linked my blog in her previous post got lucky to get a free ticket to watch the race. Never thought that the public can get up close with XANAVI NISMO Z. I've seen a white 350Z at my hometown once and I don't like white color 350Z at all (>_<) OK, the race ended weeks ago. It's like me to go to Sepang International Circuit to watch the race especially with the expensive ticket price. However, we still can enjoy the cars and babes without going there thanks to fellow photogs. By the way, two Nissan Z won the first and third place respectively which are WOODONE ADVAN Clarion Z and CALSONIC IMPUL Z with Raybrig NSX at second place. Seriously I can't imagine what kind of team it'll be, what cars will they use and what costume will the race queens wear....especially when we might not be able to see these scantily clad chicks in Malaysia anymore because of this and even this. I wonder why many Malaysians like Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution so much but when I mention Fairlady Z, most people who I thought are car geeks don't know about it. I'm not a car fanatic anyway. Perhaps it's more well known now as 350Z replaced Skyline GTR in Super GT and featured in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift as well as numerous racing games.

For car and GT enthusiasts, don't forget to check the new Gran Turismo 5: Prologue E3 2K7 trailer at the sidebar (featuring XANAVI Nismo Z). By the way, FAIRLADY Z Version NISMO Type 380RS looks a bit weird to me.

This entry is supposed to be for June, so I'll skip some of the figures that has been announced including Fauna. This is just a few selected preview, I'm not listing out all the upcoming figures.

The new trailer isn't up on the official website yet. The only trailer I found is this low quality cam video from YouTube. I wonder why many people don't like Hikki to sing the theme song as well as the remix of her 'Fly Me to the Moon' version. By the way, 'Beautiful World' will be played at the end of the first movie.

Lucky ☆ Star fans get lucky with a new game for PS2 this November, aside from the Nintendo DS games, Lucky ☆ Star: Moe Drill and its sequel released some time ago. Different from the DS games, the PS2 game is an adventure game.

Besides that, there are also Lucky ☆ Star figures (Not new for the fans). Each set comes with an Okiraku Guidebook (A5, 32 pages), Otanoshimi CD-ROM and memo pad. I also found this C-Model series Lucky ☆ Star trading figures by MegaHouse which was released last year.

Metal Gear Solid 4 RAH Figures

I found these prototype images for Raiden RAH Figure by Medicom Toy from Sideshow Collectibles. I wonder why this figure isn't shown on Kojima Productions website. The 12-inch figure looks really detailed. Raiden deserves to have his own figure now as he turns out to be pretty cool (badass!) this time, especially in the trailer which features him fighting with many Gekko in this ninja suit. I guess he's a bit more acceptable by MGS fans now but the cow-like sound of Gekko is a bit lame (=.=)

This Solid Snake RAH figure was actually shown on MGS4 Goods Page very long ago. It seems pretty detailed as well but I don't really like it. Maybe it's because I prefer the young Snake. Both figures feature Medicom's RAH 301 technology. The exoskeleton can be posed in a variety of stances while maintaining a realistic body line, according to the website.

I don't collect 12-inch figures but Raiden figure is pretty tempting. I haven't even get my God of War 2 Kratos figure by NECA. Maybe I should just stick with PVC gals and some EVA figures. However, I would buy Metal Gear Ray, Orbital Frame Jehuty and Anubis if I can find a really good one (not resin kit though).

Really looking forward to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots. It's one of the reasons that PS3 is a must get! I hope that Hideo Kojima will work on Zone of the Enders 3 after he's done with this game.

Haruhi 2nd Season!!!

UPDATE: The 20 minutes video was up on Haruhi and Newtype's website for a while yesterday. I haven't watch the video yet due to the lousy network-'screamyx'-problem but it seems that the whole video is showing the view from a surveillance video. No new information yet, we'll see if there's any update on July 10th. Some people find the video interesting while the other find it wasting time. The live-action video features events from 'Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody' chapter from the 3rd volume of the novel. You can watch the video at moetron (Flash Player) or Heisei Democracy (Youtube).

This time is for real! Another breaking news for me after absent from the internet world. So this is not exactly news, rather as announcement of my excitement, cos most probably you already know about it. The official website will be updated with the announcement of the 2nd season today. I hope we get to see the official broadcast date. The scan above is actually a full page newspaper ad.

Does the date (July 10th) in the newspaper indicate something?

Some info about the games. Who knows, maybe we get to see 'Ultra Hero Haruhi' in Season 2.
