Hey everyone, I can't believe this blog is still here! Looking over it I am cringing at some of my old thoughts and opinions. I am quite literally a completely different person but, I will leave most of the old content to remind me of how my life has changed in the last 15ish years. Long story short, I have been teaching pole dance fitness, hanging with my pack of 3 huskies and my husband. I

Why I love, love, love this series! If there is one character that I absolutely love and try to keep up with it is Mercy Thompson! I have read 8 books and a few short stories and I still can't get enough.  There a few supporting characters that I absolutely love but Mercy is just my go to heroine. One of the things I love about her is she is a strong woman but not actually fearless.

So I started reading the new serial fiction  Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews and I have decided I seriously have to set a timer to stop reading if I want to get anything done. I have only read chapter one part 1&2 thus far but that is only because I really have to complete other things and not get caught up in this amazing story. As I have come to expect from these authors there is

I loved this series by Kim Harrison and I fully plan to finish it someday. I have read more books than I have reviewed here. The last few book I read were right in a row and I couldn't remember where one ended and the other began. I am going to be honest with you though while I enjoyed the first book I did not like Rachel Morgan the main character at all. What drew me into the series was how

Since I have not been here much lately and I don't have time to read like I would like to I am going to give you a quick list of some books I loved reading. These are the books that I am eager to pick up every time a new one comes out weather on not I have the time. If you have ever been to this blog before you know that I LOVE the Kate Daniels series or for that matter anything written by

Sorry no book give away yet but I am reading again....well sort of reading. It is going to take me longer to get through a book because I am going to use my Audible credits to buy audio books that will be read on the elliptical.  I usually buy nonfiction on audible these days but I have loads of it and quite frankly it is just getting boring.  I have a hard time reading when I work

We moved and that took a lot of my time and energy and left me feeling crippled for a few days. Then of course a ton of little things went wrong with the house and we met the new addition to our household as well. One of those days that life seemed like it kept thumping me on the head with a baseball bat a young orange kitty started hanging around. I was out on the porch and it crawled right up

We are moving so I won't have time to post my reviews but I have a few that I will have up soon after the move takes place look for new and exciting stuff in September.

Just a few days ago I started reading this book. It is a delightful collection of stories full of magic and excitement. I just wanted to let you know I am reading and so far this one is great so don't wait for a complete review to check it out. I don't know what is going on here but my schedule has been kind of crazy most days then when I get a day to relax and do something I want to do I

I have to say I used to love a great vampire book. I started reading fiction again because of the great vampire books I stumbled across. I love the Sookie Stackhouse books and some of the Twilight books are not too bad. The House of Night series was full of exciting twists and turns despite the unlikable teenagers. Things went on like this and then I picked up some fantasy books that

If you could choose one protagonist out of all the books you have read who would it be? I was thinking about this today while I was on the treadmill trying to get back into better shape. I am actually nothing like her but she has so many qualities that I wish I had. Many that I am glad I don't have but they would be worth the sacrifice. She is practically fearless and I run

Silver Borne (Mercy Thompson, Book 5) by Patricia Briggs I had been putting off reading this book because I knew once I picked it up I wouldn't be able to put it down. I have a fondness for Mercy Thompson and her coyote. Mercy spent a bit too much time in her human skin for me in this book but I can honestly say that was the only thing I didn't like about this book. This book has a

First I am clearing my calender and reading Magic Slays (Kate Daniels, Book 5) as soon as it is delivered to my Kindle on May 31st. I have never been disappointed in a Kate Daniels book and I just can't wait to read it! I have been sick so I picked up Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs to get my mind off of how awful I was feeling. It worked and I hope to work on a

Here is anther great review from my sisters blog Oh My Goddess, Are You Stalking Me You Give Me Fever Okay, so, WOW. This book was completely different from Shiver. Yes, it has the same characters but it is not based on love. Yes, Sam and Grace are still in love with each other but the majority of the book is about independence, defiance, and coming to terms with life altering events that are

Maggie Stiefvater has changed things up a bit for the werewolves in The Wolves of Mercy Falls: Shiver. Around here it's not the moon that changes these humans into wolves, its the weather. The last few days have been focused on spring cleaning and writing. I made a huge mistake and turned my computer off before saving pages of article ideas. I got a phone call and I was tired of looking at the computer screen so I just shut it off. I am sure that it asked me to save or warned me that I needed to save but I apparently clicked the wrong button and poof it was gone. I did manage to

Under Her Skin is a collection of short stories that are guaranteed to get your heart rate up. They were just under a dollar for each story and well worth it because I am sure I will read them again. Each of them has a strong female at the center and a man that just gets Under Her Skin. Jeaniene Frost provides us with a great story about a hiker who is bitten by a wolf and wakes up a&

Of Swine and Roses is a short story by Ilona Andrews. It is the very first of the fiction I have read on my new Kindle. First I want to apologize to the author's because I have been spelling Ilona wrong for what must be years now. Later this week I will try to correct as many "Illona's" as I can. So sorry! Next I want to tell you this short story was worth the small fee I paid for

So I took the plunge after realizing that almost all the non-fiction books I was looking at were $2 or more less for the Kindle version. If I hate it I will hold all the people who recommended it responsible........... Just kidding. I should get it by Wednesday. Then I have a ton of books I want to buy so I am going to have to decide which ones to buy first. I am sure it will take me some

Today I bought The Well-Fed Writer: Financial Self-Sufficiency as a Commercial Freelancer in Six Months or Less. I am going to learn to write well and I am going to make a living doing so. I have made every excuse in the book not to live my dream. I continually feed myself one lie after another to save myself from my own fears. I am going to be truly honest and say I am afraid of failure

I have been thinking about the plus side to having a Kindle for some time now. I buy almost all of my books from Amazon.com so it would be the natural choice. I like the screen on these devices as well. It looks more like a book than most devices I have run across.  My hubby and I went to Best Buy last night so he could get the new Pokemon game (yes we are strange we love some of

I have been reading Gotham Writers Workshop: Writing Fiction: The Practical Guide From New York's Acclaimed Writing School and working through the exercises along the way. It seems to be a great book thus far. I have had far too much fun with it leading me to believe it will be years before I finish reading it. One of the writing exercises asked me to list some ordinary&

I do have Netflix and finally remembered to put it on my list.  Most nights my hubby and I watch an episode of something we get from Netflix before he goes to work and I go to bed. Yesterday I had the pleasure of finally reading the Kate Daniels short story from Must Love Hellhounds. It truly was a pleasure even though Kate was not a big player in this short story. Andrea and Rafael are front and center in this unbelievable tale. Kate is on medical leave and Andrea is filling in for her. While most callers hang up when the realize Kate isn't in, one caller&

I love any story that comes from the Kate Daniels series. If you are a fan of this blog you know that I highly recommend this series. I will read the entire book over time but I wanted my Kate fix so I just read that short story by Illona Andrews called "A Questionable Client". For those of you who would like to know it is the story of how Kate met Saiman. Since I have always enjoyed
