Shred Your Skin (from SAW II soundtrack, 2006)

The German ritual-folk-formation :Golgatha: was founded in 2004 by Christoph Donarski. The first full length album ‘Waste Land’ after two compilation tracks appeared in an edition of 100 hand-numbered CD-rs. Published by the musician himself it shed first light on things to come. ‘Waste Land’ is the rare prequel to the acclaimed and successful 2008-album ‘Sang Graal’ (with Dawn & Dusk Entwined) and is itself inspired by T. S. Eliot’s enigmatic grail-poem ‘The Waste Land’ which works as a key metaphor for a spiritually dying world.
On “Waste Land” sinister and pessimistic soundscapes unfold and spread fragmented allusions and remarks on spiritual death and cultural clash. The symbolic name of :Golgatha: - which is the execution hill in Jerusalem where Jesus had been crucified - was never more fitting than in this early apocalyptic soundtrack for an Inner Cinema, carried by ritual drums, dark drones, mysterious sounds and sacred voices.
For this re-release the original sound was totally re-mastered and appears more powerful than ever before. The original artwork is added by bleak photos from the same era to complete the image. This CD contains two original versions of tracks later remixed by Dawn & Dusk Entwined for ‘Sang Graal’. Bonus tracks: two combined tracks from ‘In the Crystal Cage’-compilation (2004) and ‘Shred your skin’ from the SAW II-soundtrack by Charlie Clouser (Trisol).

‘Waste Land’ is a terrifying soundtrack for the Kali Yuga, the darkest of ages.

www.myspace.com/schaedelstaette

http://linksave.in/14610060864b3be3e81ae23
Apple Lossless

Tor Lundvall - Yule (EP) [2006]

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" Der stille See
10. Tau

Three years after their first album "Vergessene Pfade," Neun Welten again elicit their natural folk sounds out of the dark depths of the forests and into the light of the music world. It now becomes clear that the mythologically named band's decision to take their time to work on "Destrunken" — the successor to their highly acclaimed debut — was more than right. With "Destrunken" — an imaginary word solely designed to inspire multiple associations and emotions —, these nature mystics offer a sophomore of impressive coherence and characteristic compositions, delighting and enchanting their listeners once more with mystical and melancholic folk odes.

With its elegiac chords, 'Frosthauch' introduces the new album, which by virtue of its emotional depth could manage to bridge the gap left by Empyrium. Like this project that unfortunately called it a day, Neun Welten base their compositions on primordial folk roots, but complete their melancholic, crepuscular song material with numerous details, ideas, and unexpected turns, thus weaving an atmospheric density that simply renders it impossible to not take notice. A prime example for that is the two-part title track many will know from their tours with Tenhi and Dornenreich: 'Destrunken I & II' offer a dramatic build-up and oppressive intensity you rarely find in other folk bands.

"Destrunken" is topped of by a masterful artwork courtesy of Fursy Teyssier (Alcest, Les Discrets, Amesoeurs), designed on the basis of the music to perfectly complement the album's various moods on the visual level.

Empyrium may have left a legacy that's hard to match, yet "Destrunken" proves that their loss is not irretrievable, despite the sheer genius of the creators of Empyrium — this album is a sophomore somewhere between folk, classical music, and wonderful settings of nature, raising a worthy monument to the world beyond the cities. An acoustic hike through the forest you won't forget. In perpetuity woods.

http://www.myspace.com/neunwelten

http://linksave.in/11733863064b26b9ad002f1
FLAC (lossless)

Tony Wakeford - Not All of Me Will Die [2009]

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 399px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdiywuqTY7oAydP4EhmT18IGLAqC-a8sE9nijIEJaEGNiAkvL9ZMwMUNk9L42ENu6C6ci1Ih7yI7ob6pQgXSMI_aTd_l4UX3N5kjilWTgmDOqUuvyAbkpG7JCoGnq6fSYiKp8Uy7fhN7RP/s400/193211e4fbff986c544c976e453.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5415205581449022306" />
1 Non Omnias Moriar
2 2
3 Fullness of August
4 4
5 5
6 6

Tony Wakeford is an artist who needs no real further introduction. When simply evoking his involvement in legendary bands like Death In June, Current 93, Nurse With Wound and of course his very own brainchild Sol Invictus this musician simply deserves his rank of cult musician from the neo-folk and industrial scene. Tony Wakeford has also released several albums under his own name and with this "Not All Of Me Will Die". This new opus commemorates the life and work of the Polish-Ukrainian Jewish poetess Zuzanna Ginczanka, who was executed by the Gestapo in Kraków in 1944. The lyrics have been taken from the work of Ginczanka adding a very sensitive touch to the work of Wakeford. Musical wise Tony Wakeford moves in between soundtrack compositions and his beloved neo-folk influences. The music and the spoken vocals by Susan Matthews give an extra visual strength to the entity. It's very poignant while the use of several classical instruments like violin, flute or yet clarinet reinforces the sensibility of the songs. Tony Wakeford invited a huge number of contributors to his work like members of Orchestra Noir, Zunroyz andSol Invictus . "Not All Of Me Will Die" is one more accomplishment in the long career of Wakeford who always finds new inspiration and more and more sensibility in his releases! The fans of the musician will be satisfied! - Sideline

http://www.myspace.com/tursa

http://linksave.in/15661618494b26b1754488d
Apple Lossless

Les Jumeaux Discordants - Les Jumeaux Discordants (EP) [2007]

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 398px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1WDVJwvO8prkvxaU6OQhCCMl258_ZOPIIHkn6xCVik6TIcYJFDxjlz5kHtvFX6k3iHWpUugKtQS8eaOtTtDj035WgexJHunKGLnaHUIy9xpE_ICofMzM0-y0x_7lYc0FPt9jbtP0kzPwX/s400/page+1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414456471178231138" />
1 Malédiction
2 Almus Spiritus
3 Betrayed Bride
4 Être
5 Le Destin
6 The White Room

Les Jumeaux Discordants is a project born in 2005
by the union of two pre-existent projects:
THE LAST HOUR by Roberto Del Vecchio and AIMAPROJECT.
The first is a strictly musical project; the second is born in 1996 and it works
in various expressive fields: poetry, photography, music and multimedia.
Aimaproject comes from neofolk and she works with many musical projects.
Les Jumeaux Discordants project presupposes a strong interaction between
poetry, image and music. By The Throat takes these same principles and develops them into something altogether grander. This is an album of contradictions: during the opening piece 'Killshot', you'll be exposed to music that's both viscerally hard on the ears and achingly beautiful, combining gracefully cinematic dulcimer melodies and mesmeric swells of noise that swirl amid a sea of nerve-shredding electronics. The track segues into a dirge of howling wolves with 'The Carpathians', a piece of doom-laden menace that competes with the grimmest moments of SunnO))) or KTL in terms of intensity. We're only a couple of tracks in so far, but already this is shaping up to be pretty special. Despite opening with a tuneful flurry of string plucks, 'Hibakusja' soon reveals a darker side, collapsing into a horrifying mess of respiratory unpleasantness, as if soundtracking a drowning man trying to keep afloat - the field recordings of someone desperately drawing breath take on a creepily emotive timbre once immersed in serrated noise signals and melancholy string arpeggios. This is no easy ride, yet despite the disturbing undercurrents and horror soundtrack tactics this album never ceases to sound beautiful. Co-produced by Frost and the dependably excellent Valgeir Sigursson, By The Throat also owes some of its sonic prowess to contributions from Amiina, The Arcade Fire's Jeremy Gara and fellow Bedroom Community star Nico Muhly. This formidable and far-reaching body of work might be one of 2009's most singularly impressive listening experiences, and very likely the only record you'll hear this year whose repertoire consists of both luscious classical chamber compositions and the hunting calls of killer whales... A very high recommendation. - Boomkat

http://www.myspace.com/theghostofbenfrost

http://linksave.in/13571594574b22e70f6fecf
Apple Lossless

raison d'être - The Stains of the Embodied Sacrifice [2009]

1. It is a psychosomatic and transgressive disease opressed by a compulsive behaviour manifested in dualities - the one of your body and mind - and states of metamorphoses - mind becomes flesh become wounds become fluids become stains. Play it loud if you want to become the martyr. Play it low if you are the innocent victim. There are no levels in-between. Violent and intense, it is a hell of an ordeal. This album is all about dark, nocturnal ambience and combines a variety of half-dreamed soundscapes together for every track: Xela's falsetto murmurings clash with deep synth swells and scratchy, rhythmically organised field recordings on 'The Equal Of God', before distant footsteps and what sounds like a Doppler effected harmonica drape 'Contents Of A Black Box' in a kind of doomy, sub-bass buffeted blues feel. Chugging drones and low frequency bowed strings arise on 'Our Future Is A Debt', lacing the soundscape with rattling sonic detritus. Rumbling and layered bass exercises tend to be at the heart of this record, and there's none more haunting than 'Autumn Looming', an album highlight that plays to Anduin's greatest strengths - jostling rhythmic loops made from interrupted electronics and clattering incidental sounds merging into a sludgy dark ambience that punds irregularly with thunderous bass drum hits, making for one of the most sonically rich entries on the album. More haunting still is the Dag Rosenqvist-aided 'Labyrinthian Void', an all-encompassing turbine hum of low-end presence mixed in with shoots of distortion and squeaky door hinges. The CD edition comes with a further two bonus cuts: 'Filed Away' (an installation for Manchester's Startrunning) and 'Black River', a live performance with Svarte Greiner that closes the album with an immense nightmarish exchange of tones - like ships' horns sounding off through fog. A quietly epic, dense and harrowing sonic experience - do not miss. - Boomkat

http://www.myspace.com/anduinore

*Link removed at request of SMTG Limited*

Want free exposure for your personal music project/band?

In the past I've received many emails from musicians asking me to listen to their work and then post it on the blog for promotion.
This is something I'm happy to do but most of the time I've been given either a myspace music page or some weird flash player somewhere on a music hosting site.
Half of the time the audio doesn't stream/download correctly or these pages get lost in the 100's of bookmarks I sift through every day.

Thanks to Megaupload's file box plug-in there's an easy way to send me your music directly for promotional purposes.
Just zip or RAR your album/demo and upload by clicking the "browse" button and finding the file on your computer.
Enter a short description and click "send".
Once the file is uploaded I will automatically be emailed the download link.
I will listen to every album/demo in it's entirety.
If the quality is good and the content appropriate for this blog, I'll glady post it here for everyone to see.
I'll post up a download link to your music, a link to your project's Myspace/blog/website and any other information you provide me with.
Small record label owners are also welcome to send me their releases for promotion on this blog.

*There are a few simple requirements*

• Any audio format is accepted, but the bit rate must be a minimum of 192 kbs.
Lossless audio is very much preferred, but not required.

• An HTML or text file with a link to your Myspace/blog/website must be provided.
A short bio would also be appreciated, if possible.

• Your music must fit with the overall theme of this blog.
Take a look around to see if your work would fit in well here.

Any submission that fails to meet the requirements above will be ignored.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below.

• S.E •

<a style="left: 0px ! Album opener "Aging" shrouds a veil of mystery over dusted instrumentation that's somehow both evocative of vast abandoned landscapes and the most intangible and detailed abstractions brought on by incurable insomnia. It's that 'epic' evocation of intimacy that's so distinctive about the whole album, utilising that same sumptuous, slowly-evolving methodology that defined the seminal 'Scum' EP Bark Psychosis released almost 20 years ago. 'Can't Stop' introduces skittering percussion and even hazier arrangements, building from a quietly menacing drone to an almost hallucinatory tapestry of sounds, but it's "I Can Put All My Faith in Her" that crafts the formula to its most affecting, narrowing itself to a focused acoustic arrangement that's more conventionally song-like, with all those enveloping signatures cleverly and gradually submerging you deeper into its murky waters. There's something unspeakably magical about the way this band somehow alchemise familiar components into this deep, almost haunting mass of sound, making for an album that's virtually impossible to categorise but which will no doubt end up taking up one of those hallowed spots in your collection reserved for the most special, moving records you feel the rest of the world just couldn't possibly understand. Next to Helge Sten, The Hafler Trio or Mika Vainio, Köner is an acclaimed master of ultra-subtle ambient acoustics, providing some of the finest records on labels like Mille Plateaux, Die Stadt and Chain Reaction, both under his birth name, and as half of seminal techno act Porter Ricks. Like a friendly apparition emerging from the ether, his latest album - the first in nearly five years - has just dropped into our world, with little prior warning, to completely remove us from our day and place us within an environment coloured with moving air, tones of sublime melancholy and indistinct aural landscapes. The tracks are titled by a set of coordinates, which we're sure the more intrigued folks out there will be researching on Google maps, but those looking to leave the mystery intact can attempt to imagine the locations through their associated voices, languages and surrounding aura. For example, without checking, on '48º 52' N 2º 21' E' you could be standing in a train station in Azerbaijan, wrapped up in an intangible moment of cinematic bliss, while on '31º 46' N 19º 6' E' one feels like a ghost in the midst of a Central American pueblo, or somewhere completely unknown. This is music ripe for the imagination, from an unrivaled mind dedicated to enhanced auditory experience and deserves undivided attention from anyone unafraid to let themselves be taken by it. - Boomkat

http://www.myspace.com/thomaskoner

http://linksave.in/6255794974b10638794595
FLAC (lossless) w/ CUE

Northaunt - Barren Land [2004]

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" This rarely explored land, resonant with a shimmering radiance that is bleak, barren and mysterious, is distinguished by slivers of fantastical nuances that twinkle like crystals under the midnight sun.”

The above quotation was taken from a review of the original CD release of Drifting in Motion (2000 on Crowd Control Activities). Now, 8 years later it is time for an enhanced re-release for even more refined sound and experience of Drifting in Motion. The entire album has been carefully re-mixed in 2007 and has been spiced with 3 more nuances.

Peter Andersson is a multi-talented man most famous for his RAISON D'ETRE project on the label Cold Meat Industry label but he is also are responisble for music projects like Stratvm Terror, Bocksholm, Atomine Elektrine, Panzar and many more.

For this new release, two artists, Maria Gullqvist (Sweden) and Eva Verholen (Holland) has been asked to contribute with their own impressions of experiencing Drifting in Motion. Their amazing works are presented on the completely new designed CD artwork in a six panels digipak.

http://www.myspace.com/detreraison

http://linksave.in/4969607314b0875b9bd91e

AAC @ 320 kbps

Triore - Three Hours [2009]

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUSwtnI2tvPHnu1qeNhzShcmvYsBMw8T0SvJJwxqSySk84hPWoCi5b4N7Dm-I5PjOpaNOr_5EqLkAZFrQdBwzqcDrTyoKk9FNVQg7f3wM3vyuO6ahgVV7xOqn-5_wA7wTL21891VuLDWAP/s400/triore.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405931989751322402" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 353px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifBtvCbtS6_4SDaXp_aFNlLZU128-5aoptloo07YkLgEaTY7cn4ByDQcXclb3r4Q7aavD-jNnjR71OMMdnSD_gEY4VeexShgkr77dpFU8bThHGXlhWb6JSVaLoLFpcZ42FbZS7oLGTVgrs/s400/R-1978936-1256378753.jpeg.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405931910537151426" />
1 The First Three Hours 4:08
2 Victory Rising 3:10
3 After Summer We Fall 4:06
4 The Missing Hour 3:02
5 Another Love, Another Hate
6 No Tears Are Shed For You And Me
7 Pleasures & Tortures
8 Fires Burn, Like Fires Do
9 Let Us Meet In The Trenches
10 There's A Smell To Life That Dies
11 Europa's Dream
12 The Last Three Hours

This fairytale started to unravel four years ago with the release of
Triarii's "Piece Heroique" (ES-05). A sinister seed was planted in
the fertile soil of northern Europe as Christian Erdmann (Triarii)
and Tomas Pettersson (Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio) gave birth to the
track "Roses 4 Rome".
And now finally, the progeny has been conceived and fully developed;
and what they call TriORE, has ultimately been born.
Both participants go beyond themselves and step out of normal
character, but TriORE is nonetheless the embodiment of all that which
is Triarii, and all that which is Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio; like a
succulent apple in two opposite pieces just waiting to be devoured.
The bombastic touch of Triarii is still there; the string sections,
the choirs, the martial drums and much more; alongside the eloquence
of Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, musically, melodically, as well as
lyrically.
This is what all lovers of both bands have been waiting for, a
complete forty minutes of Art Deco Industrial Pop.
This work begins where Roses 4 Rose left us, and takes all the way
from the rising of victory, through the trenches and all the way till
Europa falls.

http://www.myspace.com/triore

http://linksave.in/9612525764b05c57a4f970
FLAC (lossless)

http://linksave.in/19505902394b05c80bb5e34
AAC @ 320 kbps

Inade - The Incarnation Of The Solar Architects [2009]

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" The results came out sounding like the karaoke booth of your worst nightmares, humorous and nauseous in equal measure, but you had to admire Kirby’s dedication to the cause: he certainly knew how to turn your stomach and put a smile on your face at the same time.

Kirby’s debut album under his own name comes after a spell recording as The Caretaker, which with the benefit of hindsight, feels a little like a bridge between where he was then and where he is now. Inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, The Caretaker’s early music was built from antique ballroom dance 78s, often heavily treated, pitched to alien speeds and fighting through ghostly curtains of reverb. And indeed, Sadly, the Future Is No Longer What It Was (a trilogy, available as digital download, triple CD or, for the moneybags, six platters of vinyl) shares something of The Caretaker’s drifting, ethereal feel, existing in a sort of liminal, dream-like realm where time passes slowly and signposts melt into the fog.

But this collection feels like a step on from The Caretaker, as well. Colours are sharper, the emotional content is broader, and often the fog falls away to reveal the surprising fact that Kirby happens to be a pianist of some note. On When We Parted, My Heart Wanted to Die (Friedrichshain Memory), elegiac piano and synthesised strings rise gently over a sea of vacuum hums and static crackle, and while there’s clearly no finger hovering over the edit button – the track billows out to 15 minutes in length – there’s little feel of stasis or torpor.

It’s ambient music, yes – but Sadly, the Future Is No Longer What It Was boasts an emotional, melancholic undertow so accomplished it shames many other examples of the form. - BBC Music

http://brainwashed.com/vvm/haftw/index.html

http://linksave.in/8236676114b02189c1bf69
FLAC (Lossless) + AAC @ 320 kbps

Wormphlegm - In an Excruciating Way... This isn't the crappy tape rip/transcode that has been floating around. The story is that Wormphlegm were to release their demo on CD but it fell through, and subsequently the file that was sent to the label got leaked. This is slightly different to the original version, 7 minutes have been cut. Encoded from a lossless source.

Label: Self-released

Tracklist:

1 In an Excruciating Way Infested With Vermin and Violated by Executioners Who Practise Incendiarism and Desanctifying the Pious

Click
V0

Gruel - Solstice Ritual (2009)

Ordinarily a Doom/Sludge Metal band from the UK, however this is a really good Drone piece. In ROME’s songs there lives a stoic sense of the melodramatic. As well as Cohen, one must look to icons such as Tom Waits and late Johnny Cash in order to be able to describe the lyrics and voice of Jerome Reuter.
"Flowers from Exile" is just as much an emotional as a critical work. The personally stamped album of a modern singer-songwriter which tells of journeys both within and without. Jerome Reuter’s moving vocals and Patrick Damiani’s complex musical arrangements leave the musical roots of folk far behind and send these "Flowers from Exile" to all listeners who are willing and capable of feeling the dignity, the hope and the pride behind the lyrics and who are prepared to recognise themselves in those restless spirits whom the twelve part song cycle conjures up. But anyone who has ever experienced Die Weisse Rose on stage
knows why.
More than concerts, Die Weisse Rose's performances are elaborate rituals, caleidoscopic (or
even psychedelic) experiences. Elements such as uniforms, burning torches, snippets of old
schla"gers, segments from documentary films and philosophical proclamations are wowen
together by orgies of live drums and electronic sounds.
Die Weisse strives towards what Wagner called "Gesamtkunstwerke" - total works of art. When
most other bands talk about Gesamtkunstwerke, it sounds pretentious. When Die Weisse Rose do
it, it makes sense.
Die Weisse Rose also like to think of their songs as "audiodocumentaries". Again, such a
seemingly pretentious term makes sense, as Die Weisse Rose's art is just as indebted to the
History Channel as to Throbbing Gristle.
To bolster Die Weisse Rose's lineup (which really consists only of the band's mastermind,
Thomas Bojden) over the years the unit has recruited collaborators to its ranks that makes
DWR smack of an Industrial supergroup. From Marco Deplano (Foresta di Ferro), Gerhard
(Allerseelen), Kim Larsen (Of the Wand and the Moon) to name but a few.
In return, Thomas Bojden has returned the favour and played with a who's who of of the
Industrial and Neofolk underground, from well-established outfits like Rome, Blood Axis and
Foresta Di Ferro to up-and-coming Austrian neofolk band Klammheim.
Now, Die Weisse Rose are for the first time available on record. If you fear that we have
another "martial" clone band on our hands, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. The music is
painstakingly crafted and orchestrated to perfection to include electronic elements, field
recordings and real instruments, and its creative merits really stand out in an underground
culture where bands of far lesser talents than Die Weisse Rose would release three albums in
the time Die Weisse Rose have patiently worked on theirs.
Let one thousand white roses bloom, as Die Weisse Rose unleashes "A Martyrium Of White
Roses".

Info

VBR - V2
FLAC will be posted here when I get it.
