Welcome to the Darko Entertainment blog. That’s a sentence we never thought would be necessary, so thanks for being here. Once a month (fingers crossed), we’ll update this page with new developments regarding the projects we have headed into production. Thanks for reading!

We just wrapped God Bless America written and directed by Bobcat Goldthwait. This flick is a Bonnie and Clyde-like escapade where loveless, jobless, possibly terminally ill, Frank (played by Joel Murray) decides he’s had enough of the downward spiral of the people of America. After discovering he has a brain tumor and losing his job, Frank takes his gun and calmly goes about offing the stupidest, cruelest, most bigoted and repellent members of society. What does he have to lose? Along the way he finds an unusual accomplice: 16 year old Roxy (played by Tara Lyne Barr), who shares a similar sense of rage and disenfranchisement.

All in all, we shot a lot of guns and crashed a few cars, which made for an eventful 18-day shoot. We are really proud of the cast and crew of this film, and are madly in love with Bobcat Goldthwait.

Next up is Richard Kelly’s Corpus Christi, which is Texas-set thriller revolving around the strange friendship between a conflicted Iraq war veteran and his boss, the wealthy owner of a bar/restaurant chain (if you’ve ever been to Austin, Tx – think STUBBS on steroids) with political ambitions. Currently we are in the midst of final stages of pre-production, and will be shooting soon.

Buzz has been circulating about Pride Prejudice and Zombies, adapted from Seth Grahame-Smith’s book. We are collaborating with Natalie Portman’s production company Handsome Charlie Films, and Lionsgate. Craig Gillespie is set to direct, so stay tuned for casting updates!

The random spectrum of these projects defines our philosophy here at Darko – making movies we want to see. Hopefully you will want to see them too!

Anyway, that’s it for now. A big thanks to Jim Hanft for all his hard work creating this website. Check back in from time-to-time to see what madness we’ve gotten
ourselves into.
