When I say the planet is “on” a fixed star, technically it’s not really correct, I should say “aligned with”. What the planet is “on” is the degree of the ecliptic that the star is pinned onto in longitude to measure its astronomical position. I just prefer using “on” because its more succinct.

Gemini Decan 2

Orion is also the most lusty, phallic constellation in the sky, rivalling only Aries and Taurus in virility. But where the Ram and the Bull are fuelled by procreation and biology, Orion loves the whole drama and courtship of sex. The chase is the best bit, lots of twists and turns, intrigue, titillation and teasing. Sex can also be a sedative for Gemini decan 2, orgasm will be an explosive release of tension. The twins here are extra inquisitive, intellectually daring, and their mind is as agile as their bodies. They need to have this acrobatic ability since their propensity for living on the edge means they often have to make very narrow escapes. They get away with it so often that think they are immortal. Both stars of Orion featured here are connected with victory, or boasting victory over nature. The charioteer has to learn to keep its wayward passions on a tight rein. Channelling Gemini decan 2’s fast and furious mental gymnastics into science and engineering would be a good outlet. Tabit is found in the lion’s skin that Orion holds so triumphantly. With the mix of phalluses and chariots one thinks of fancy sports cars as penis extensions here. Auriga is represented in the sky as a charioteer carrying a mother goat nursing two baby goats in his lap. Diana K Rosenberg interestingly suggests in her findings that the Chariot could also symbolise a wheelchair. She points out Erichthonuis the charioteer was actually half human/half snake and could not walk. In her book she depicts Auriga as a war veteran in a wheelchair (Still carrying the goat family). I’m not sure about the modern symbolism myself however as Auriga as a constellation is very complex.

Roller Coasting

To me Auriga could be a single parent, juggling work while bringing up a family. I also feel Gemini decan 2 has an issue with emasculation (Hence over compensating with fast cars and fast women..) If Auriga stars describe a male single parent, then he could feel his manhood is compromised by having to play mummy. A parent of either sex may think they have to rein in their desires for the sake of their children. These desires are represented by the two kid goats Hoedus I & II. These twin stars have a dubious reputation according to George Noonan when rising “ indicates a native who may be petulant and lascivious, one who is said to be involved in depraved and vicious desires.” Generally however this constellation gives happiness, confidence, a desire to address social problems and great interest in the education of children. Since Erichthonuis was abandoned by his mother (His serpent bottom half disgusted her) and brought up by Pallas Athena, I think adopting handicapped or disadvantaged children may be an attribute of Gemini decan 2. The subject themselves may feel ugly, deformed and rejected as some kind of a freak.

There are two stars in the constellation of Lepus the Hare, like the rabbit, is known for its fecundity. Robson says they are quick-witted and timid, yet defiant. The hare is a lunar beast, which in common with Orion shares the attributes of rebirth and resurrection. It is also “fleetness..the nimble mind outwitting brute force” [1] Orion thought he could outwit nature too but was brought down by a mere Scorpion for his arrogance. Which brings us to the 7th brightest star in the sky Rigel, a very noticeable blue/white star in the foot of Orion. Despite its accident with the vengeful crustacean, Rigel is still considered extremely fortunate. “It gives benevolence, honor, riches, happiness, glory, renown and inventive or mechanical ability.” This star can propel someone to a great height very quickly, Gemini decan 2 generally has great speed, vigor and an enterprising spirit. It also has the tactical skill to stalk its target relentlessly, never loosing sight of its goals. The problem is holding onto that success once they have it. In their ultra focused pursuit of their goals they may overlook the bigger picture and miss some grand flaw that opens up to engulf them later on down the road. For Gemini decan 2, capturing their prey is easy, the problem is keeping hold of it when they are distracted by yet another passing tasty morsel. Their life can resemble a rollercoaster and they often need to team up with a solid Saturnian type to bring them more stability and to fix their chariots brakes.

The Lunar Eclipse May 25 2013

Close Encounters

This an unusual second lunar eclipse of the season. It echo’s the religious theme of April 25 Lunar Eclipse, but this one is way more active and challenging with the T-square and Scorpionic star mix. Heads will roll with Mars on Medusa’s head Algol, unaspected and working like a loose canon. The Sun on Mirfak the lancing arm of Perseus works like an exorcist. Then we have the tightly packed group of spectators Mercury, Venus and Jupiter forming a triangle in the sky between the horns of Taurus. The ecliptic cuts through the middle of these horns and you find the famous constellation of Orion aligned with this bunch too. More godly influence. Orion, Osiris, Pyramids, T square…

Is the T-square a pyramid, a sacred site, a temple, a tomb, an observatory…? Whatever it is, Neptune sits on the top, keeping a lid on its mysteries, then Uranus and Pluto come right along and slice it off! It makes me think of that part in “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” with the mash potato sculpting of the Devils Tower in Wyoming, where the UFO landed…Yes it’s that kind of eclipse. Spooky. Maybe there will be some revelation about the truth of our ancient history.

Jamie’s excellent post on Comet ISON mentions the transportation of virus’s from outer space. So the Neptune aliens could be microscopic invaders, ones that somehow speed up our evolution. Hopefully this will cause enough people wake up the corruption of religious control systems. Uranus square Pluto could be blowing the lid off the church. Neptune on the top does look like a cross on top of a church spire.

Lunar Eclipse May 2013 Horoscope

The Lunar eclipse chart is dominated by aggressive red aspects. Luckily there is also a sensible trine down to Saturn, which anchors our spaced-out Neptune and keeps his fantasies in check. Saturn is on the April Lunar Eclipse degree and star Gacrux the cross of matter. “Spirit Matters” I said back in April and this time it we could see that Neptune materialise into physical form. Saturn’s influence calms the fraught T-square situation down somewhat and injects Neptune with some reality. It’s a very architectural combination and works a lot like classical music, structure supporting the liquid dance of the musical notes. The stellium of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter is very important because the area of the sky is just so starry near the band of the milky way. The union of both benefics with Mercury the messenger could signify a message for humanity. In the next three months watch out for crop circles, weird synchronicities, strange cloud formations and keep an eye on the night sky, especially if you happen to live in Wyoming…

Lunar Eclipse Aspects

The Moon aspects in the T – Square are; Sun square Neptune “The public or their lovers are inclined to turn them into their ultimate fantasy figures, which they feel they cannot possibly live up… The Neptune square seems to aggravate physical handicaps or give a tendency to hypochondria.” Health issues come up again and make me wonder about airborne viruses, or the threat of them, or some cover-up to prevent people getting to the truth. Again I have to use Close Encounters as an example, when the military prevented the public entering the UFO landing zone by saying it was contaminated. Moon square Neptune “these subjects can easily use the Moons popularity and Neptune’s mystique as a smokescreen over corruption or abuse of position. Neptune can rule deception, lies and delusion, the risk is more so with the square.”

I think there is a good chance of some transcendental influence at this eclipse. A sign or event that serves as a symbol that humanity has reached the point of critical mass, enough to affect a chain reaction of consciousness? But we also have the danger of a smokescreen, possibly by those who feel threatened by this sign. The power elite and the established religions may work together to reinterpret this symbol or event to suit their own agendas.

The Moon is conjunct Asteroid Cupid. “Cupid is winged because lovers are flighty.., and boyish because love is foolish and irrational. His symbols are the arrow and torch, “because love wounds and inflames the heart.”  In Catholic religious iconography the symbol of the arrow is used to denote religious ecstasy, but it is also erotic. Being struck with Cupid arrow is very fateful, something you have no control over, even the gods themselves were not immune, so this force of passion must come from an even higher power. And we are back to Neptune again. What is this strange act of devotion? What is true love?

Lunar Eclipse on Acrab & Dschubba

The eclipse asks what is real pure universal love and what is just overpowering sexual infatuation, which many of us mistake for love. Neptune’s promise of a soulmate does not guarantee Happy Ever After. In fact the more one yearns for redemption through love, the more one will find oneself disappointed. The same goes for any religion that promises a saviour. Even prophecies about comets coming in and sprinkling humanity with magic fairy dust (Even if that dust is a something as scientific as a virus) run the risk of putting the responsibility of change on something outside of us. Deep down we all want to be rescued, but now we each have to be our own Neptune knight.

Looking at these stars there is still a theme of some sort of contagion. Acrab in general gives “pestilence, and contagious diseases.”. However with the Moon it’s a bit more fortunate “Great power, honor, wealth, gifts, difficulty in obtaining legacy, materialistic, interested in unpopular ideas, criticized, success after many difficulties.”  Dschubba is more reserved and suspicious. Robson doesn’t seem to like it very much and claims “It causes sudden assaults, malevolence, immorality and shamelessness.” Whereas Eric Morse says the star’s patient, wary approach and skilled determination makes it adept at in depth research. [1] This star makes great private investigators and secret service agents then.

Lunar Eclipse May 2013 Meaning

Lunar eclipses can seem quite ominous and these Scorpionic stars can certainly dish out revenge, if you have been behaving yourself then you shouldn’t be at the receiving end. “In lower types, however, a tendency to falsehood and treason can be noted” [2]. So I see some great historical secrets uncovered by investigative truth seekers, which may get silenced by the “lower types.” Acrab and Dschubba are powerful underworld stars. In the mundane world, this is someone who knows how to navigate the corridors of corruption because they were once part of the infrastructure. Now they can work like a virus, entering invisibly then destroying from deep within.. Maybe there are a few of these agents out there working like this.

So these stars maybe not be so much evil in themselves, but may be so to those who currently hold all the power and wealth. Acrab and Dschubba can be terrorists or freedom fighters depending whose side you are on. The axis that this eclipse falls across will show the demons you have to exorcise. The area where you have to play the freedom fighter in your own life. Where are you a slave to your Cupid desires? Where are your terrorists lurking?

Gemini Decan 1

With Jupiter’s influence here then we get activists and militants who are on a spiritual or religious mission. They see themselves as spiritual warriors and reformers, on this earth to stamp out evil. This area is also very artistic, so those in the entertainment business here will always have a socio-political message behind what they do. They will also want to gain status, and be admired for their intellect. These people are great conversationalists, come out with great one liners and have the ability to abruptly and skilfully steer the discussion off any subject matter that is not their forte. The last thing these brainiacs wants to appear as is stupid!

Gemini decan 1 is the thinking mans warrior, they will rescue damsels in distress, the underdog and the hard done by, all because they want to be the good Samaritan. They are not fighting for the thrill of spilling blood, good gracious no! The twins are chivalrous knights, but nevertheless can’t help getting embroiled in dramas, mainly because they cant keep their mouth shut. Gemini decan 1 thrives on scandal and they are terrible gossips. The medieval “scold” mask was just made for these jesters. These folk are naturally very funny, the mix of Jupiter’s joviality and Mercury wit cannot fail to tickle even the most dour person.

The negative side of Gemini decan 1 is a certain shiftiness however, they could be trickster supreme with Aldebaran’s great gallant charm and Alcyone’s supposedly “Evil disposition”. Gemini decan 1 can get away with murder just because they make you laugh so much that your sides split, followed by your purse, followed by your shiny pennys falling straight into their grubby little hands. Gemini decan 1 are passionate about what they believe in, but because they also have been appointed by God to be his soldier they can also be incredibly arrogant. Having an archangel star here is all very well, but its volatile energy can taketh as well as giveth if the subject gets too big for his boots.

Alcyone is the main star of the Pleiades; this mysterious star cluster has beguiled us for thousands of years. Their role is supposed to help humanity evolve by purifiying our astral and etheric bodies in order to receive higher wisdom. Dissolving away our dirty devils, rather like Perseus’s mission to slay the demon Medusa. Our hero risked life and limb to rescue his love Andromeda, so very chivalrous and noble. Or was he really after her father King Cepheus kingdom..? Somehow it all seems to good to be true, which is why Gemini decan 1 can get the reputation of being a cad. Alcyone has a bit of a sleazy reputation too. Some keywords are “vain, venerated, indulgent, spoilt, easily flattered, flirty, beautiful, poetic, talented, theatrical, ravishing, handsome, designer, dandy”.

These stars, like the Gemini archetype as a whole are a mass of contradictions; they can be the good twin or the evil twin. One twin is constantly at war with its shadow and they are constantly on the verge of becoming the very “darkness” they are trying to eliminate. The challenge for Gemini decan 1 is to try not to create more divisiveness in their zeal to spiritually spring-clean. New-age light workers and Christian fundamentalists alike make me think of Aldebaran, since he is so darned worthy. The Alcyone bunch are the activists, bohemians, eco-warriors and the liberals who are so incredibly “right-on” and politically correct. Gemini decan 1 is all about duality and polarity, directly opposite Aldebaran we get Antares, his nemesis, but that’s another story…

Geek Chic Warriors

Mirfak on the right side of Perseus this constellation “is said to denote adventurous individuals, but also those who are less than honest in their dealings with others.” Robson also says Perseus has an “intelligent, strong, bold and adventurous nature, but a tendency to lying.” I get the picture of your cheeky cockney chappie who “ducks and dives” to make a living, a modern day folk hero. Mirfak likes to brag and is full of bravado, like Muhammad Ali in his pre-fight spiel. Sceptrum is now part of Eridanus but was once part of an obsolete constellation known as Sceptrum Brandenburgicum.

The sceptre is a ceremonial staff used to display power and authority. There is a real feel of display to this decan. Is it all an act though? Jupiter can be very theatrical and spectacular while Gemini is about surface, and can wear many masks. It makes me think of the wizard in the Wizard of Oz, that geeky old man operating the booming wizard voice and theatrics from behind the curtain. He didn’t think he was impressive enough on his own. Gemini decan 1 promises much and seems suspect, but like the Clintwood (See Sun) inspired animated spaghetti western film Rango, the apparent charlatan did in fact come good in the end.

The solar eclipse May 10 2013

The volcano (Ceres) blocked business (Pluto) in Europe through flight cancellations and in Chile the 33 miners were buried 2 months underground! The theme was separation from families for the acquisition of wealth. Taurus decan 2 has strong family pride, sometimes so extreme that elevating the status of the clan can override the individual happiness of its members. With the volcanic eruption European airlines were accused of putting profits before peoples safety.

The Solar Eclipse May 2013 chart is very spartan. No ease of trine, but a very emphatic crossing of batons, as if to say, “No entry, you’re not in the elite club, so push off!” This of course only makes us want to join it even more. Moon conjunct Mercury  “Can be very naughty or very nice. At best, the combination of logic and intuition gives great common sense…. Thoughts are things and this person could conjure themselves up a beautiful domestic arrangement if they can focus on their dreams for long enough.” Focus is the key, for the stressful oppositions may prove too much of a barrier to push through if we continually get side-tracked by household dramas. Ceres opposite Pluto is about mining for gold, and is asking us to find the stamina to go down deep. The problem with the Moon conjunct Mercury is that is just wants to stay on the surface where all the twinkly things are.

Solar Eclipse In Your Chart

This is the dilemma of this May Solar Eclipse; it is easily seduced by finery and status. Saturn Rx all on it’s own in Scorpio, is on the last eclipse star Gacrux.

Saturn assists in making sure this eclipse does the right and decent thing rather than becoming self-righteous, snobbish and fixated on achieving high status just to “keep up with the Jones’s.” So the gold at the bottom of the mine could be spiritual gold. Ceres is within 2 degrees of Sirius, the brightest star in the sky. A huge treasure potentially, but it can mean success that burns. Coming into a massive amount of money all at once can cause a surprising amount of trouble those who are not accustomed to handling wealth.

I think it is also interesting that using universal 0º Aries houses that the 2nd/8th polarity is so much emphasised. This is our possessions, our values and personal finances V inheritance, other people’s money and their values. In the 8th house, money is tied to suffering and death, therefore it’s all the nasty things we don’t want to address like taxes, debts, mort-gages. (It’s not in the house of death for nothing.) The 2nd/8th axis has a certain resonance with Pluto opposite Ceres. To me this only emphasises the theme of this solar eclipse all the more. Fixed signs in decan 2 will experience this sudden change in their financial situation most strongly. It could be great gains or losses depending on what this triggers in ones chart.

The gains at this eclipse may come with some catch or even sorrow IE: A fabulous job which takes you away from your family or an inheritance through the death of a loved one. There are tough decisions between what looks immediately glamorous versus something shabby, but genuine. The former may be too good to be true the latter may have greater long term potential but needs work, like an old Victorian house. So this eclipse continues the theme of the last one where Asteroid Vanadis cried “tears of red gold for her missing husband.” Since this is a solar eclipse however, we are looking at what will enter our lives to replace what went missing at the Lunar eclipse.

Solar Eclipse Conjunct Asteroid Lilith & Pallas Athena

At the Solar Elipse May 2013 we have both these asteroids conjunct the moon to add to the already packed stellium in Taurus. Asteroid Lilith is not the same as Black Moon Lilith (The lunar apogee), she represents the maiden aspect of the triple goddess Lilith story. Asteroid Lilith shares with Pallas Athena the virgin/crescent quality, quite asexual and that they are both beholden to no partner. Taurus decan 3 is ruled by Saturn.

Taurus decan 3 has great taste and appreciation of the aesthetic, managing to dress like a lord even if they can only afford to shop in charity shops. They are also incredibly thrifty like the rest of the sign and manage to be very creative on a tiny budget. Perhaps they are so creative precisely because they are faced with those restrictions and hardship. Ironically with more choice and a larger budget, the more likely they are to stagnate artisticly. They seem to enjoy the challenge of having someone or something to overcome. Like Perseus slaying his Medusa. Taurus decan 3 has a tinge of sorrow and melancholy about it, since some of the stars here are associated with tears (Electra) and pain. (Algol). Saturn being the ruler here is also no stranger to melancholia, but combined with Taurus I think it gives great stoicism.

So the precious metal theme surfaces again. The lunar eclipse usually brings endings and/or a culmination of a matter. This is so a new beginning can occur. Both lunar and solar eclipses are threshold points, birth and deaths. To me the lunar eclipse emphasises what you have to leave behind, so there is some melancholia about them. With solar eclipses you are so excited about your new start, you don’t even think about the old life that is ending. The crossroad point is even more acute with this lunar eclipse because of the influence of Gacrux. But that’s not all. The Lunar Eclipse is crossed by Ceres trine Neptune. Neptune is the self-sacrificing saviour Jesus. The victim/saviour who died on the cross. Of course the cross is connected with constellation Centaurus, which is Chiron and repeats the theme of sacrifice. Ceres trine Neptune unites the wisdom of the earth with the wisdom of the heavens. Taurus decan 2 has a strong Ceres/Pluto undertone to it. These people can suffocate with love, literally smothering to death in the case of the most negative manifestation (Brady strangled his victims). The mix of charm and possessiveness can breed Svengali’s here. Their solid as a rock authority, status and respectability can attract naive and insecure Liza Doolittle’s who look up to them as a parent/mentor. These bulls can make their protégée’s believe they cannot succeed in the world without their guidance and support. They will do everything in their power to be indispensable and ultra reliable. Taurus decan 2 make such a comfortable crutch/support that it becomes very difficult for their, by now feeble-legged, companion to walk away.

Mesarthim and Sheratan are two horny stars close together known as “the Butters”. Some could get into trouble for their outlandish claims,  and could at worse be sued for libel.

Metallah in Triangulum is associated with Ceres who asked that it be put in the sky to represent her island Sicily in the sky as a gift to her daughter Persephone. There may be an issue with money, either sudden great wealth or sudden poverty. The psyche has to adjust to the effect of insecurity V power. So Taurus decan 1 could either be very anti-consumerist or conversely, greedy for a high status lifestyle with all the trimmings.

Taurus decan 1 can breed thieves or extortionists. Schedir is the main star in Cassiopeia and “Incorporates serious demeanor with joi-se-vivre. This star is not considered unlucky, but a certain amount of demonic power seems to be ascribed to it. Should good living transgress reasonable limits the results will be disadvantageous.” One can see the temptation for Taurus decan 1 to abuse its position here.

Acting with integrity and resisting the bling Queen Cassiopeia promises is paramount. Hamal its neighbour also warns of “violence brutishness, cruelty and premeditated crime.” [4], even sadism! We immediately think of Hitler and Saddam Hussien from the list below. However if this star resists the urge to totally dominate, it can also produce exceptional leaders who defend the social welfare of their community. This sector of the sky is packed with many potent stars so Taurus decan 1 must be expecially mindful to use this power wisely.

Moon trine Neptune can become extremely devoted to their lover, but need to be careful their longing to merge doesn’t leave them with no sense of self whatsoever. They do best when they put this great devotion into an all-consuming passion, Ie; An artistic project, spiritual practice or best of all, working to transform the lives of the sick and needy.  Moon trine Neptune wants to make things as perfect as possible, so perfect that they may look quite surreal against the backdrop of the real world.
