My brother just bought an old row house in a historic district in Brooklyn, New York. He has always wanted to live in one of those old houses and finally was able to afford to make his dream come true. He had to go in a practically gut the whole place because it was in pretty run down condition. When fixing it up though he wanted to stay true to the house’s historic roots, and I think he did a great job. He had a lot of painting to do and picked colors from the actual time period that the house was built. Then he went around to many antique dealers to find furnishings that matched the whole scheme as well. One thing though that he did not want to do was have an old television or television service. He bought a huge television that he hides in this rather large piece of furniture. Then he signed up for satellite television through TVByDirect.com. When he was not watching television, it was hidden behind closed doors of the furniture. Looks like he got the best of both time periods both then and now.

Every now and then, no matter what time of year it is someone in our neighborhood shoots off fireworks late at night. Every time I hear it, I always think it is a gunshot at first and I just about jump out of my skin. We live in a pretty safe neighborhoodand I am pretty sure that no one would actually be shooting a gun. For whatever reason though, it makes me a little scared every time I hear it. My mind starts wandering and I think about what I would do if it were a gunshot or if someone were to break in my house. I decided to look in to getting a home security system installed. I searched “adt tennessee” online and found that it was actually pretty quick and easy to have a system installed. I went ahead and did it and I am so glad that I did. I feel safer and it definitely gives me peace of mind when I hear any noise outside. And now I won’t even have to be scared of the fireworks anymore.

Green Cups And Bowl - Green Monday

A few months ago hubby and I went to a thrift store and i saw this 3 cups and 1 bowl. It was only more than $1 for 4 of them. I was very happy that i bought it since we used it a lot of times. Hubby keep using the cups when he make a hot coco/milo for me and our son. It is microwavable and dishwasher safe. Hubby said that it might be antique cups and bowl it was not really sets but it was i already bought it. Anyway, have a happy new year.

There is a lot in the news lately about what techniques different governments and terrorists organizations have used to torture their prisoners for information. I’ve read about everything from water boarding to beatings to sleep deprivation. However, I’ve got a much more efficient, terrifying technique; make them raise a hormonal teenager. I know that I pushed the boundaries of my parent’s rules, but I don’t think I did anything close to what teenagers are doing today. It is bad enough that teenage boy’s hormones are going absolutely crazy about girls, but add into that equation driving, drugs and alcohol and it’s enough to make anyone beg for mercy. It used to be that when a teen was at school or at home, you could rest easy; not anymore. If skipping school wasn’t bad enough, my teenage son has decided, in his infinite teenage wisdom, that it would be a good idea to start sneaking out of the house at night. After a quick internet search for SECURITY adt, I finally figured out a way to stop his escapes; arm the doors and windows. Since our system has been installed, my wife and I can go to bed knowing that if anyone tries to get in, or in our case, out, at night, we will be notified.

Decorating for the holidays is one of the best parts of the holidays in my opinion, it comes second to only spending time with my family. I get a little crazy with the decorating, including holidays that people normally don't decorate a whole lot for, like Thanksgiving. I really love to decorate and I already started thinking about that when I was online a few weeks ago right after Halloween trying to find some good Thanksgiving decorations for our seating area.

Obviously, the area to concentrate on decorating for Thanksgiving is the dining area because that's where all the focus is! Last week i am trying to ask some information about Shoppe Pro hosting because i want to make a store in my own domain. I use the Momgen's Corner since that is the one i used in my store in etsy. Etsy is a good place to sell your stuffs but sometimes it is just good to own a store with your own domain. You just pay the hosting by month and you can sell whatever you want without fees. Sometimes, life is just too much to handle. There are deadlines to beat and things don’t go the way they should be. Or you have bills to pay and suddenly your child gets sick and needs a lot of medications. Then you have to take a leave of absence in order to take care of your sick child so in the end, you do not have a salary at the end of the month.

These are just a couple of instances but if you are in any one of them or you are just in a rut right now, then you are not alone. Maybe it is because food and other consumer items are also very cheap in China. That is why the people can still thrive with small wages. As long as they have jobs with regular salaries, they can still feed their families and keep them from the streets. It may not be easy, as with anywhere else in the world, but at least, they are not hungry or living on welfare. The Chinese people are just so hard working and are not prone to complain, that is why they are preferred by contractors all over the world.

Thank God that college football season has officially started up again. There’s something about the start of fall that just makes the air feel a little bit crisper in the mornings and that really gets my blood pumping. My mom called just the other day to see if I could get her and my dad could get a couple of tickets to some games later this season. There are a lot of other reasons to love fall beyond college football, for instance my wife loves this time of year because she finally has weather that allows her to wear a light jacket at night and there’s a constant breeze in the evenings. But with the start of fall comes a long list of things I have to do in order to get ready for the holidays and the winter in general. I have to go winterize the lake house, start bringing in all our pool equipment, and lock -down our lower garage.
