My First Wedding !

At last, I've done my first wedding! It was a huge learning curve and hard work but well worth it. I can see now why photographers charge up to £1000 as it was probably a good 4-5 days work when you take into account the prep and image editing of 300+ images. Thanks to Kerry, Martin and family for letting me capture their day. Below are the results.

The wedding took place at The Compass Inn - Tormarton - Nr. Bristol

Granted, this has nothing to do with landscape photography....well, some of the compositional techniques are still relevant....but thought I would post a link to the video I made of a recent scuba diving trip to Egypt as it's my other main hobby. Now, back to editing those Scotland images....

Have been hard at work over the last few months creating images for the Art in Penallt weekend at the end of September and here are the results so far. Have also just come back from The Outer Hebrides with loads of images to work through but will have more on that soon.

Portishead Panorama

Finally got around to trying out a proper panorama. Went down on the coastal path in Portishead and took this. Not the best shot in the world but the technique will be useful in Scotland later this year. Will post a tutorial soon to show the technique.

Sometimes it's worth hunting around old images just in case you've over looked something that could have potential. The trouble with shooting in RAW is that most images tend to look quite dull until you spend some time processing them so it can be easy to over look some good images. Found these 3 today and spent a good afternoon tweeking...

Went to the Wye Valley butterfly zoo on the weekend and got some nice shots that will now be turned into greeting cards.

The order for the greetings cards arrived so spent a good couple of hours folding them all. Had to order another card stand as well to hold them all. Have also just gone over to another web host rather that using Yola as they (Evo Hosting) have pre-installed shop software so will have to work like mad to get everything ready, including the online shop, before the Brecon gift fair on the 25th June....better get on with it!

So the display table and card stand for the craft fair turned up today. Have spent the last week sorting through all the images and making some new ones after being in the Brecon Beacons for the weekend. It's still a month away but it's getting serious now!

Tried some experimental techniques using long exposures in the garden and really like some of the results (see below). I've called them 'Acer in motion'. It's a very hit and miss technique but great fun. Will have to try it out on other plants and objects.
