Nicolas Darvas Boxes – NASDAQ – (M to Y)

We know continue to take a look at the rest of the NASDAQ Stock which are showing interesting signs of conforming to Nicolas Darvas signals of interest.

Here are the the stocks from M to Y.

MBLA – Sitting in some sideways motion after hitting new highs after a recent retracement.
MEDI – Hitting new highs after a recent spike in volume.
MICU – Saw a jump in price in June with high volume. Now continues to hit new highs.
MIND – Hitting new highs. Appears to be in a steady up-trend.
MITSY – Hitting new highs with regular volume spikes.
MSLV – Looks like it could be setting up a new Darvas Box after a recent break-out.
MSSR – Currently sitting in a Darvas Box.
MUSE – Could be forming a Darvas Box.
MXBIF – Sharp retracement to the bottom of a possible new Darvas Box after hitting a new high.
MYOG – This stock has nearly trebbled in price since June. Looks like it could be forming a Darvas Box.
NGAS – Falling back from a new high last week. Has shown very good growth and volume since June.
NMGCD – A recent massive price gain on increased volume.
NMTI – Hitting new highs after a recent retracement.
NTGR – Forming a new Darvas Box. Appears to be in a steady up-trend.
NTST – Sharp retracement after hitting a new high.
NUAN – Just broken out of a brief Darvas Box.
NVDA – Forming a new Darvas Box.
NVSL – Looks to be forming a new Darvas Box. Currently in a period of good steady up-trend.
OCAS – Has just bounced of the bottom of its Darvas Box.
OPWV – In a Darvas Box after a period of retracement and then a new high.
OTTR – In an up-trend since June. Currently in a new Darvas Box.
PATR – hitting new highs.
PBIO – Just broken out on high relative volume.
PETS – Recent highs on good volume.
PLLL – Trebled in price since February. Currently forming a Darvas Box.

PSYS – New highs and in a steady up-trend.
PWAV – Broken out to a new high on large volume spike.
QDEL – New recent highs. Doubled in price since the bottom of a retracement in June.
RAIL – Broke out on high volume in late July. Steady up-trend since and nearly doubled in price.
RBAK – Forming the bottom of a Darvas Box.
RCCC – Recent highs on volume spikes.
RGLD – Recent high with large volume.
RIMG – New highs. Steady up-trend.
RTSX – Increased volume since April with regular new highs.
SIRF – Big up-trend started in May. More than doubled in price.
SMTS – Period of sideways motion since July after good price rise in May.
SNDK – Sharp up-trend. Forming a new Darvas Box.
TESOF – Forming a Darvas Box after a period of new highs and increased volume.
THLD – New highs after recently breaking out of a Darvas Box.
THOR – Steady up-trend. Forming a new Darvas Box.
TOFC – New highs.
TRAD – Forming a Darvas Box after period of up-trend.
TRDO – In a Darvas Box.
TRGL – Currently forming a Darvas Box. In a period of extended up-trend.
TVIA – Recent new highs on increased volume.
TWIN – Sharp increase in price coupled with increased volume.
TZIX – Good steady up-trend. Currently forming a Darvas Box.
USLM – Trebled in price since February. Sharp price increase since August with lots of volume.
VCLK – New highs on a big volume spike.
VPHM – Quadrupled in price since May! Currently forming a Darvas Box.
VRTX – Price rise began in May with large volume spike. Currently forming a Darvas Box.
WFSI – Price rises with large gaps and a recent volume spike.
WRES – Just broken out and forming a Darvas Box.
XNPT – Recently broken out from a Darvas Box.
YORW – Sitting in a Darvas Box since August.

Today I’ve been taking a look at the NASDAQ Stock Exchange to find some stocks that may have interested Nicolas Darvas.

ADRE – Looks like this one could be about to break out of a Darvas Box – Good recent volume spike.
BABY – Has just broken out of a Darvas Box.
BIOI – Currently look flat after recent price rise and volume spike.
BOSA – New high after a recent flat period.
BTUI – New high with good uptrend. Just broken out of a Darvas Box – this stock looks classic Darvas – Massive relative volume on new highs.
CASY – New high after recent retracement.
CBIZ – Hitting new highs – not broken out yet though.
CCCG – Hitting new highs – not broken out yet though. In a general uptrend.
CECX – Just broken out of a Darvas Box. Looks like it is heading higher.
CERS – Rapidly rising stock – hitting new highs.
CMCO – Almost doubled in price in the last 3 months. Looks like it is forming a Darvas Box.
CNQR – In a steady uptrend and hitting new highs.
CONN – This stock broke out last June and is hitting new highs.
CONR - Broke out in August and is making new highs.
CRED – Good volume – new highs.
CRZO – Has more than doubled this year and is hitting new highs.
CSCQ – Experienced a huge volume spike and price jump in July. Relatively flat since though.
CTIB – Massive volume and price jump. Has doubled in price in the last few days.
CTLM – In and up-trend since July. Has recently hit an annual high with good volume.
DDRX – Good volume and new highs. Looks like it is could be forming a new Darvas Box.
DKHR – July saw a huge rise in volume and price. Slowly making new highs now.
DPTR – Making new highs – in an up-trend since June.
DRYR – In a lo-o-o-o-o-ng and steady up-trend with new highs.
DWSN – Making new highs after a recent Darvas Box.
DXPE - Massive breakout near the end of last July. Big volume and increased two-and-a-half times in price. Another Classic Darvas Stock.
EEFT – Making new highs after relatively flat spell for last 7 months.
EELN – Another stock with a recent volume spike and price jump. Making new highs too.
ENER – New high on good volume. Good up-trend.
EPEX – Rapidly rising in price after a breakout.
EPIQ – New highs – good up-trend.
EQTX – Just broken out of a Darvas Box.
ESLR – New high suggesting about to break out of a Darvas Box.
FLDR – Recent breakout on good volume.
FLSH – Making new highs and in a good up-trend.
FTEK – Recently broke out of a Darvas Box and making new highs.
FWLT – Looks like it’s about to form a Darvas Box.
GEMP – Recent break-out.
GFIG – New high suggesting a break-out.
GLBL – Currently in a Darvas Box.
GOLD – Breaking out and continuing its up-trend.
GRMN – Making new highs after recent retracement.
GTIM – Currently in a Darvas Box.

Nicolas Darvas Boxes – AMEX

I have continued looking at some more stocks that are exhibiting the sort of behaviour which might have interested Nicolas Darvas.

The market I have chosen to post about today is the American Exchange (AMEX). I thought it would be interesting to look at this exchange since it is where Darvas traded a lot of his stocks.

In alphabetical order:

AIX – This stock really took off last February. It is currently pushing out of a Darvas Box.

ANX – Another stock that has experienced considerable growth and and volume since last February. Looks like its forming a nice Darvas Box right now.

APT – Has just broken out of a Darvas Box on a spike in volume.

AQQ – Maybe showing signs of breaking out for a jump in growth.

BEM – Currently forming a Darvas Box.

BHV – Another possible for a breakout.

BMD – Recently hit a another new high after a period of falling until last May.

BXL – This stock has experienced a jump in volume and looks like it could take off.

CMD – Has just hit a new high after a period of retracement.

CSM – Currently in a Darvas Box.

DFM – Flat for most of August. Has been hitting its annual high though.

END – Good volume and a recent high. A possible breakout candidate.

ESP – High volume spikes and new highs after a recent breakout in June.

FML – Hitting new highs in a steady up-trend.

FTG – Has been in slow uptrend for last year. Recent large jump in volume and price.

GHM – Steady up-trend, new highs and good volume.

IMO – Making new highs after periods of retracement.

JQH – Good up-trend until last February – but fairly flat since. Recent new highs and spike in volume.

JVA – steady up-trend since a breakout in June.

MCF – Good up-trend with recent Darvas Boxes.

MEK – Hitting new highs and spike in volume.

MGP – Wide trading ranges but recently hit a new high.

MII – New highs and increased volume.

MIX – Good uptrend since last May. Flat for the last month – but a recent spike in volume.

MJP – Wide trading range with recent high and volume.

MLJ – Recent new high.

MLN – Trending up with recent volume spike.

MNM – Recent increases in volume and new high. Possible breakout.

NMB – Has just made a new high after period of retracement.

NRB – Just jumped in price. Interesting to see what happens here.

NWI – Sideways trend with new high.

NXZ – Recent breakout and new high.

OTT – Fairly sideways – but has just made a new high.

PBW – Has been recovering from a period of retracement and has made a new high.

PHX – Broken out of a Darvas Box and pushing higher on volume.

PJP – In a Darvas Box for August. Pushing at the top of the box.

SPR – In a Darvas Box after a high jump in price in May.

STV – Making a new high. Strong growth since July with consistent volume.

TPY – Flat since July after a period of high price movement. Exhibiting increased volume.

TRE – Good up-trend. Making new highs on increased volume. Currently in a Darvas Box.

UUU – In a Darvas Box. Just recovered from a period of retracement.

VCC – Sideways trend. Recent new high on increased volume.

Nicolas Darvas Boxes – New Zealand Stock Market

I’ve been taking a look at the Stocks that make up the New Zealand Stock Market (NZSE), and added some to my Watch List that I think are exhibiting Darvas Box behaviour – or are at least worth keeping an eye on.

Take a look for yourself. Let me know if you think I have missed any out.

Symbols refer in Yahoo Finance format.

To start with there’s the NZSE50 (Yahoo:^NZ50) – The NZSEs primary Index – This has been climbing steadily since its inception in May 2004 (it replace the NZSE40) – and has now broken through to new highs after about 3 months in retracement.

Continuing in Alphabetical Order:

ABA.NZ – Currently sitting in a Darvas Box after a breakout on high volume in May ‘05.

ABS.NZ – Hitting the top of a Darvas Box which was formed in April ‘05.

AFI.NZ – Currently looks like being at the bottom of a retracement from annual high in July ‘05.

ANZ.NZ – Hitting annual highs – not spectacular though.

APN.NZ – Has been retracing from annual highs for the last two months.

AXA.NZ – Ditto.

CAH.NZ – Hitting new highs on high volume.

CDN.NZ – Hitting new highs in an upward trend.

CEN.NZ – In retracement from annual high in Jun/Jul ‘05.

CNZ.NZ – Hitting annual highs, but rising slowly.

CTG.NZ – Exhibiting Darvas Box like behaviour for last 2 months.

DFH.NZ – Hitting annual highs – looks erratic though.

FML.NZ – Recent stellar jumps in price – looks volatile.

FPH.NZ – Currently in a Darvas Box – Doesn’t look too spectacular.

FRE.NZ – Recently hit new high after LARGE retracement – again, doesn’t look spectacular.

HLG.NZ – Hitting new highs on good volume.

IFT.NZ – Just broken out of Darvas Box to new highs.

LBS.NZ – Spent the last year in a Darvas Box. Recent spikes in volume.

MFT.NZ – Darvas Box forming?

NGC.NZ – New highs – good volume.

NZF.NZ – Sideways since April ‘05 after good initial climb.

NZR.NZ – Showing signs of Darvas Box formation.

OBV.NZ – More signs of Darvas Box formation on good volume.

RYM.NZ – New highs with good uptrend.

SKY.NZ – Recent sharp drop after prolonged uptrend – Now in a 5 month sideways move.

SMM.NZ – Steep climber to new highs on spiking volume.

TTP.NZ – Low cap showing uptrend.

VTX.NZ – Tapping a new high after large climb in March ‘05 and subsequent drop.

WFD.NZ – Currently going strong for the top.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be removing some of these on our watch list depending on how they shape up.
