Beer in India has been an import since the early 18th century and brewed natively since the late 1820s.

Beer began to be exported to India in the early days of the British Empire, including porter and India Pale Ale, also known as IPA.^[1]

The first brewery in India was set up in Kasauli, in the Himalaya mountains, near Shimla, in the late 1820s by the Englishman Edward Dyer. Dyer's brewery produced Asia's first beer, called Lion. The brewery was soon shifted to nearby Solan (close to the British summer capital Shimla), as there was an abundant supply of fresh spring water there. The Kasauli brewery site was converted to a distillery which Mohan Meakin Ltd. still operates. Dyer set up more breweries at Shimla, Murree, Rawalpindi and Mandalay.

Another entrepreneur, H G Meakin, moved to India and bought the old Shimla and Solan Breweries from Edward Dyer and added more at Ranikhet, Dalhousie, Chakrata, Darjeeling and Kirkee. In 1937, when Burma was separated from India, the company was restructured with its Indian assets as Dyer Meakin Breweries, a public company on the London Stock Exchange. Following independence, in 1949 N.N. Mohan took over management of the company and the name was changed to Mohan Meakin Ltd. The company continues to produce beer across India to this day and Lion is still available in northern India. Lion was changed from an IPA to a lager in the 1960s, when due to East European influence, most brewers in India switched from brewing Ales to brewing lagers. Today no brewer in India makes India Pale Ale. All Indian beers are either lagers (4.8% alcohol — such as Australian lager) or strong lagers (15 % alcohol - such as Australian Max super strong beer). In various parts of north-eastern India, traditional rice beer is quite popular. Several festivals feature this nutritious, quite intoxicating, drink as part of the celebrations. The rice is fermented in vats that are sometimes buried underground. Elephants are known to attack villages, with the primary agenda of drinking from these vats. Following one such raid in north-eastern India, a police officer in Dumka was quoted in the press as saying: "Tribals who love rice beer brew the liquor at home. Elephants too are fond of this beer. Often it is found that, attracted by the strong smell of the liquor, wild elephants tear down the tribal houses where the brew is stored."

The Indian beer industry has been witnessing steady growth of 10 - 17% per year over the last ten years. The rate of growth has increased in recent years, with volumes passing 170m cases during the 2008-2009 financial year. With the average age of the population on the decrease and income levels on the increase, the popularity of beer in the country continues to rise.

The Indian beer industry has witnessed a big change during the last five years. The industry was previously dominated by competition between the Vijay Mallya-controlled United Breweries Group and the Manu Chabbria-controlled Shaw Wallace. The scenario changed, however, with the entry of SABMiller in India. The international beer giant started by acquiring small breweries in the south but then completely changed the landscape with the acquisition of Shaw Wallace’s beer portfolio for a reported US$264m in 2003. This gave SABMiller ownership of strong brands like Haywards, along with its existing brands. After the acquisition, SABMiller focused on spreading its footprint across India, including opening new breweries in states where Shaw Wallace did not have a presence.

On the other hand, rival UB bolstered its presence in the country in 1999 by creating sister company Millennium Alcobev, which produces beer brands like Zingaro and Sandpiper. Today, this is a joint-venture between the UB Group and Scottish & Newcastle (S&N). The company started as a 61:39 joint venture between the UB Group and Ravi Jain, a friend of Mallya’s. In January 2002, this was expanded to accommodate Scottish & Newcastle (when it became a 40:40:20 joint venture between UB, S&N and Ravi Jain). In early 2006, Ravi Jain ceased to be an equity partner and Millennium Alcobev became a 50:50 joint-venture.

The SABMiller acquisition of Shaw Wallace gave the company a good position in the strong beer sector (beer with an alcohol content of 6% or more) which is the fastest-growing segment in the market. While SABMiller’s Haywards 5000 is the biggest-selling strong beer brand (a fact hotly contested by UB Group), UB’s Kingfisher is the largest-selling beer brand overall in the market. But, In Indian market hard drinks are more accepted ones

Between them, UB – along with Millennium Alcobev – and SABMiller account for nearly 85% of the Indian beer market. There are some smaller, regional players too; of them, one of the most important is Mount Shivalik Breweries, which owns brands like Thunderbolt.

Mohan Meakin is also a strong regional player in the country, though family rifts have prompted the family-owned business to put itself up for sale. Consensus between family members is proving difficult to reach, but, with companies such as SABMiller, UB and APB showing interest, the company’s fate should be decided soon.

Imported foreign beer brands such as Murphy's Stout, Boston Lager, Paulaner and Chimay have recently become available in the Indian market, but due to very high custom duty this segment remains tiny.

Beer sales in India are forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 17.2% to 2011. So, with the Indian beer industry seeing steady growth during the last decade, due to strong economic growth resulting in high disposable incomes, an increase in beer sales in the next two or three years is expected.

Delhi wallas take to wine. Consumption up significantly

The last six months have been exceptionally strong for wine sales in Delhi as they grew by 41% year over year. 25,064 cases of wine were sold as against 17,722 in the same period the preceding year. We all live in a society. We all are social human beings. We are different than other bio machines. We have emotions. No where it is written that son should add fire to his fathers dead body. These were rituals of the society. It changes with time. Some times importance is given to women and some times to men. After Mahabharat complete destruction of male bio machines, Ved Vyas must have written about importance of male. We all are here to create many from one ( ek se anaik ) This is law of nature. To increase number we need male as well as female in all bio species. If you want to multiply faster in a given time we need more females. So importance of female starts. In case you want to multiply faster you need many females and at least one male. So importance of male starts. So it is need of the society, that creates laws. It is society which creates new rules to satisfy new needs. So change is the law of Nature. Change with time. Even if there is no son or daughter then wife can perform last rites of her beloved. It is feeling and emotional devotion, which binds us together.

पिताजी से किया वायदा बेटियों ने पूरा किया

बेटा नहीं हुआ तो क्या हुआ? बेटियों ने ही बेटे का धर्म निभाया। पिता ने देह त्यागी तो सामाजिक परम्पराओं की परवाह किए बिना, उनकी अर्थी को कांधा देकर पुत्र के कर्तव्य का निर्वहन किया।
भीलवाड़ा शहर के संजय कॉलोनी निवासी 61 वर्षीय गोवर्धनलाल पोरवाल का बुधवार रात निधन होने के बाद गुरूवार सुुबह उनकी अंतिम यात्रा में पांच बेटियां रेणु, रिंकु, सीमा, प्रेरणा व पूनम ने अर्थी को कांधा दिया। पिता की चिता को अग्नि भी बेटियों ने दी। पोरवाल की चार बेटियों की शादी हो चुकी है। सबसे छोटी पूनम अभी सीए फाइनल की पढ़ाई कर रही है। गुरूवार सुबह संजय कॉलोनी से मोक्षधाम से रवाना हुई अंतिम यात्रा में बेटियों ने कांधा देकर एक मिसाल कायम की।
पूरा किया वायदा
"पिताजी को हमेशा यह चिंता रहती थी कि बेटा नहीं है, मेरी चिता को अग्नि कौन देगा। बुढ़ापे में मेरी सेवा कौन करेगा"। हमने पिता की सेवा करने का संकल्प लिया। आज पिताजी से किया वायदा भी पूरा किया। यह कहना है कि पांच बेटियों का। पिता को जीवित रहने व उसके बाद भी बेटे की कमी महसूस नहीं होने दी।

Change in Management creates new rules. Face Book is trying to gain it's value what it lost earlier. Face book company was sold to Microsoft in many million dollars recently . It was started by an Indian for social net working. He wanted more customers and no verification was required. So one can see my notes written below about face book. Now Face Book wants it's image and legal document. Already many legal cases are going on in western countries about fake ID. Many countries have now legal rules to check fake IDs. With the help of Face Book one can create friendship and be global.

Today only one of my lady friend told me about behavior of men on face book. She created fake ID with a beautiful photo and tried to flirt with her husband. Poor husband was following what I have written on link No.1. He had to cut a sorry figure to her wife. Thank God it is India and women is dependent financially on men, otherwise she would have filed a case of divorce.

Face Book is now verifying each account by phone. After change of the Management of Face Book, it is very reasonable and right step to do verification of all accounts. My many accounts along with accounts of my family members have been verified. Read my writings earlier written on

2.0 Face Book Friends
With all these sites I am spending around 3 hours daily to communicate with many friends of different attitudes and interests in life. I feel that I must spend time in a useful method. Some friends do not have time to read bio or profile and always want to know age, sex and location and what do you do etc etc?

I am strongly recommending that young people should not waste more time on Face Book as their time is more precious. For old people it may be good pass time. Face Book is very dangerous for young girls as many males in disguise of females invite these girls, after winning their confidence, at their residences and then misbehave or crime is committed. Females should never come on web cam or undress on web cam to strangers. Females should never disclose their phone numbers or location etc. Preferably no stranger Face Book Friends. Although Face Book is taking due precautions but criminals find new methods to hook girls on face book.

In the same way young boys should also be careful to meet stranger girls, as adventure may prove costly.

IDG: Why does BT have a futurologist?

Pearson: You can use the term futurist, if you prefer. It is pretty much the international term. Futurologist is peculiarly a British one, but everybody else uses futurist. We like to think having futurologists in BT as kind of like [looking] out the window of your car when you're driving alone through fog. You can't see a very clear picture of what is ahead. You try to look at every obstacle. Sometimes you will misinterpret an apparent shape in the distance, but few of us would drive through fog without bothering to look out the window. Blurred vision is a lot better than none at all! The same is true for business, which is why BT employs me. So the further ahead that you can see, the better you can plan. It's a useful function, but BT didn't have a futurologist before me. It just considered it as part of planning. People would think ahead a little while, but there wasn't very much very long term thinking before I came along. I joined BT in 1985 but I only became a full-time futurologist in 1991.

IDG: Royal Dutch Shell has a famous scenario planning research team. Do you work the same way?

Pearson: We work in different ways. Shell basically invented the field of corporate futurology, as far as I can tell. But what they do mostly is what is called scenario planning, different possibilities for what lies ahead, and they may plan for each of those different possible scenarios. What we do in BT is to use that here and there throughout the company for various reasons, but I personally don't think it works very well in terms of thinking what the future actually looks like. We can look at different scenarios. But when you think about the future a lot in a tech-dominated area like telecom, you can work out pretty much what it is going to look like, rather than just planning scenarios. Therefore I find it much better to try to predict what's going to happen than to have a list of few possibilities.

IDG: How do you make your predictions?

Pearson: I do a lot of reading. I try to keep in touch with what's happening. I read some business and news magazines and technology journals and Web sites, to try to keep up with what's happening around the world. And then I spend a lot of time listening to other people and giving them insights on what they think will happen on their respective fields. Reading consumes a lot of my time as well as being in touch with another people, one way or another. Then I spend a long time daydreaming, thinking about how the thing interacts, and gradually I come up with a view of the future. When I talk with other people about it of course they argue with me sometimes. For example someone can say: 'That is a very stupid conclusion,' and I think again. This allows me to refine my ideas by sharing it with other colleagues, and find better conclusions.

IDG: Ten years ago, in May 1997, Deep Blue won the chess tournament against Gary Kasparov. Do you consider, like Kasparov did, that was the first glimpse of a new kind of intelligence?

Pearson: Yes, it's a very good example of what you can do with computer-based intelligence. What it pointed out was that it doesn't have to do things the same way that people do in order to achieve goals that people use their intelligence to do. Deep Blue didn't work the same way as people. Deep Blue used a great deal of number crunching. It was not a conscious machine. It was just a very dumb machine that was not aware of its existence. It just crunched numbers in order to be able to solve problems that might require one of the finest human minds on the planet to solve. But it was a big breakthrough. I think it was a very important breakthrough for the thinking instead. A lot of us realized then that it wasn't going to be necessarily to figure out exactly how the brain works to do a lot of problems which require intelligence, because to solve these things one can use computers rather then a big computer with consciousness or self-awareness.

Nonetheless, I think the task of producing machines with consciousness or self awareness is still important. We will probably make conscious machines sometime between 2015 and 2020, I think. But it probably won't be like you and I. It will be conscious and aware of itself and it will be conscious in pretty much the same way as you and I, but it will work in a very different way. It will be an alien. It will be a different way of thinking from us, but nonetheless still thinking. It doesn't have to look like us in order to be able to think the same way.

IDG: But as soon as machines become intelligent, according to Moore's Law they will soon surpass humans. By the way, BT's 2006 technology timeline predicts that AI entities will be awarded with Nobel prizes by 2020, and soon after robots will become mentally superior to humans. What comes after that: the super intelligence or God 2.0?

Pearson: I think that I would certainly still go along with those time frames for superhuman intelligence, but I won't comment on God 2.0. I think that we still should expect a conscious computer smarter than people by 2020. I still see no reason why that it is not going to happen in that time frame. But I don't think we will understand it. The reason is because we don't even understand how some of the principal functions of consciousness should work.

I'll give you an example of it. In the early 1990s in the University of Sussex, there was an experiment to generate program to evolve the circuits to distinguish between different tones on a telephone circuit, allowing the circuits to work in different ways. And the circuits that the computer came up with worked in very different ways from those of people came up with. So, the computer doesn't use conventions that people use, but it came up with solutions that were more elegant and worked in very different ways. With even the simplest of systems it takes us a long time to try to figure out how they work, because they are so different from the way people would solve the same problems. Therefore, I don't think we will understand how these smart machines.

If you think they are capable of being much more intelligent than people, well, I agree with the logic that they are cleverer in designing cleverer things. But they will get very, very clever. It's kind of like a hamster trying to understand a human being. They can't simply understand the problem. How could they possibly think in the same way? It's like as if a human being is compared with an alien intelligence, which is hundreds of millions of times smarter. We don't have the right capabilities to start thinking in the same way. So, we put machines winning Nobel Prizes in our technology timeline, because we got good reasons to do that. You see, most of us, even if we like to think that we are reasonably intelligent, most of us are not capable of doing something so wonderful to get a Nobel Prize. And we wouldn't expect to be able to understand all the essays or readings that a Nobel Prize is capable or not, because maybe these smarter guys work in a different level of the rest of us. How could we possibly understand it? With computers will be pretty much the same sometime in the not very far future.

IDG: In this context, can we consider today's Second Life as some kind of "The Matrix" 1.0, being the real Matrix a combination with Second Life and artificial intelligence?

Pearson: That's an interesting way of looking at it. I never thought of it in those terms. I don't really think we can. Although both "The Matrix" and Second Life are about socialization, Second Life is an imaginary world where we can inhabit it, but the key difference is that people are very aware of being there; and in "The Matrix" the key thing in the movie wasn't too much that it was a virtual environment where people didn't know that they were in there. I don't think Second Life would ever evolve into a place where people weren't aware that they are online. I think people will always be able to distinguish between being connected in an imaginary world and when they're actually in real life. We will always be able to distinguish real life from imaginary life. That's the key difference between "The Matrix" and Second Life.

But certainly we can adapt the concept of Second Life from simple virtual environments and we could add full sensory capabilities to that, so we can make it something completely convincing. In that regard a future version of that thing could be very like The Matrix, and then we could have "Second Life meets Total Recall." It's a bit like "The Matrix" then, where you have a very large environment with people connected together with a very convincing level of reality.

IDG: It seems like the holographic deck of "Star Trek," isn't it?

Pearson: Yeah, the holodeck on "Star Trek" was a bit like the future capabilities of virtual environments. You know, we were looking into that sort of future, so in 2020 we should be able to induce sensations, we should be able to report sensations and replace sensations. Then we can do something with approximate to Star Trek's holodeck or Total Recall, and we could have something a little bit like "Matrix," or a Second Life 10.0. I think the future is converging to most of those things; rather than Second Life a metaphor we pretty like to use is the one which is "The Sims," the game with its imaginary characters interacting with each other. They are not humans but they interact with each other. With the arriving of artificial intelligence, we could end up with some of "The Sims" features with real conscience. That will be a very interesting situation, when you will have an imaginary civilization living imaginary lives with a human point of view. For the members of those civilizations it will be quite real, and they will have their real existence within the network, within cyberspace.

IDG: I understand you're interested in NBIC (nanoscience, biotechnology, information technology and cognitive science) convergence. A lot of people have real concerns about it. For example, Bill Joy, Sun's former CTO, wrote in 2000 a famous manifesto in Wired magazine warning this convergence could represent a threat to Mankind very existence. In BT's Tech timeline I read that by the 2030s a nanotech based virus could be transmitted between machines and people over the net. Would it not be a real nightmare?

Pearson: It would if you put things on those terms. For instance, we put those things into the Technology Timeline to highlight the possibilities of future technology. But I think in some cases we will probably want to make regulations to prevent people from doing some of those things. The NBIC convergence does allow you to do a lot of very powerful things which will bring very huge benefits for mankind. And it also likewise makes some very formidable weapons and some pretty nasty nightmare scenarios. The point that Bill Joy was getting out in his article is that it was entirely possible. So at some point we will have to figure out how to stop these things from happening, and we have to persuade governments around the world that there are serious problems which need to be regulated in order to be prevented.

Take, for example, genetic modification technology. Governments may do something about, and they may produce some agreements, although there would be some few countries which don't get covered. For example, in most of the world it's illegal to clone people and there is very strong restriction on what you could do in terms of genetic modification. I would expect that sort of thing will probably happen with these extremely NBIC convergences, where scientists couldn't get access to a technology level in order to get close to the capability of doing things like nano assembly with viruses and similar stuff.

I would think that a lot of people at that point will be screaming from the risk of stop the development of very clever new technology. But probably there will be very, very tight restrictions on NBIC. The trouble is that a lot of these technologies will be very difficult to police. So even if they're made illegal across the world through international treaties and stuff like that, how do you police what's somebody doing in his backyard? And there could be very small equipment and a very smart guy... You can't spot what's happening by using surveillance by satellite, because it's very difficult to see what's going on. In that regard we can't do very much about it, we must have to accept the risk. Well, that's not news. You know, once the technology exists or even once the technology is half way to existing, you get obvious that all you need is a few smart guys in a very small space spending some time together and they might came up with something. How can we forbid them to do it?

So, the whole concept of NBIC convergence in the form of viral extreme AI, conscious machines, super-humans, nano-assemblers, genetic modification... linking these together does give you these capabilities, only we might decide how we might release them, though we might have limited capabilities to do so. So I think I would agree with Bill Joy to a degree. I'm not so optimistic if we are going to find a solution for that. At the moment we can't see the solution. I think he draw a very valid point!

IDG: Stephen Hawking defended in 2001 the genetic enhancing of our species in order to compete with intelligent machines. Do you believe human genetic enhancing would be feasible, or even practical?

Pearson: We are developing a good deal of understanding of how a human being is constructed and how it works with only armies of proteins and things that goes with it, to figure out how work the processes that are involved in life as well. This progress is going to accelerate over the next decade. Therefore is very likely indeed that we will have the capabilities to modify people in several ways. But again we have to have reservations to police that to some degree, but at the same time we should have the possibilities to make pretty much any minor modifications in the human being that we want. For example, people will kind of looking at genetic modification with genes that actually do something useful as well as get rid of genes that don't. I don't know how to answer this question, and most scientists don't.

We should be able to take genes from other organisms, and we could modify it by mixing the genes together. But eventually I think we could go a lot further then that, when we really understand the basic principles by which those genes operate and we gather other insights of nature that took eons of years to evolve on their own. But we could go much further than just taking genes from other organisms. We should be able to design genes from the ground up to achieve whatever goals we are trying to achieve. We should be able to decide what characteristics we want to create, and we should be able to do all specific proteins and systems to achieve it.

We will need a great deal of capabilities if we want to decide how people look like or if you want to even determine what your personality might be like. But it will be quite likely over time that we will start doing all these things. We will modify people and we quite likely eventually will end up with a number of much augmented human capabilities. The question is: how far do we go till we decide that we want to add genetic processing enhancement in people that allow them, for example, to link directly to machines? Do we want them to link to the network? Should we produce genetics that allows people to connect directly to the internet, for example, in 2050, 2060 just by thinking, and therefore to communicate to other people that are walking around telepathically? Why don't follow that path? People might want to go on that path if the capabilities might be there as well as the engineering to do so? Even these things would be possible, very interesting possibilities.

IDG: Right now the Pentagon is using some 5,000 robots in Iraq and Afghanistan, patrolling cities, disarming explosives or making reconnaissance flights. The next step is allowing them to carry weapons. Does this way lead to a Terminator scenario?

Pearson: [Laughs] It's certainly one of the top concerns engineers have been worrying about, whether taking it leads towards Terminator how it happens in the film, whenever you design a robot that should be under their command, but then it becomes self aware or something and decide not to follow your command. When the U.S. is developing robotic weapons they are making a step towards that. The question is how far it can go down that path without a huge line of assistance. For example, in a small dictatorship regime or something, could it afford to take it the full way to make some weapon system? Well, probably not yet because they will lack capabilities that so far have not been built. That capability will need enormous resources to take that development path. It would take a long time to get to the point where it would be possible. I think that's a potential that we have. If you're aware that the possibility exists people obviously will have to think about it when designing these machines, and don't stop merely by expecting to make something which is quite likely to go a line to the Terminator scenarios. We certainly have a self censorship when we try not to be stupid destroying the world.

IDG: Are you an optimist about the future? Do you believe we can improve technology at the same time we save the world from hunger, overpopulation, pollution and environmental destruction?

Pearson: I am an optimist. I recognize that there are dangers in the future. But somehow I still believe that we will manage to avoid those problems and that the future will be much better than it is today. If you go far enough ahead we will solve a lot of those problems using advanced machines. Someway or somehow we will manage to find a way to avert it without destroying the world. That's what I believe. If I look at the negative part of it, there is a risk, a significant risk that we might destroy the world on ways that we couldn't be able to ask. And I think that in the next several decades there will be a balance on problems being caused by technologies as well as solutions being made by them. But in the short to medium terms it probably won't be much better or much worse than it is today. We will have some new problems but we will also have new solutions too. But in the very long term, there's a lot of optimism ahead that we might solve a lot of the problems that we caused, and we will eventually catch up with new problems being caused by a coming technology. So, concerning the far future I am an optimistic, because the opposite is too nasty to think about.

IDG: BT's 2006 Technology Timeline predicts that by 2051 humanoid robots will beat England football team. But would they beat Brazil?

Pearson: [Laughs] I am not a football fan by any means. The last time I was interested in football I was really quite small, but I remember this guy called Pel�. I'm pretty sure he was Brazilian. You guys seem good at football. I think that if any country in the world is still going to beat the robots it will be Brazil.

IBM Scientists Create Method to Measure the Performance of Carbon Nanotubes as Building Blocks for Ultra Tiny Computer Chips of the Future

Observing Vibration and Light at the Nanoscale to Advance the Use of Carbon Nanotubes as Semiconductors and Metal Wires Inside Chips

IBM (NYSE: IBM) scientists today announced that they have measured the distribution of electrical charges in tubes of carbon that measure less than 2 nanometers in diameter, 50,000 times thinner than a strand of human hair.

This novel technique, which relies on the interactions between electrons and phonons, provides a detailed understanding of the electrical behavior of carbon nanotubes, a material that shows promise as a building block for much smaller, faster and lower power computer chips compared to today's conventional silicon transistors.

Phonons are the atomic vibrations that occur inside material, and can determine the material's thermal and electrical conductivity. Electrons carry and produce the current. Both are important features of materials that can be used to carry electrical signals and perform computations.

The interaction between electrons and phonons can release heat and impede electrical flow inside computer chips. By understanding the interaction of electrons and phonons in carbon nanotubes, the researchers have developed a better way to measure their suitability as wires and semiconductors inside of future computer chips.

In order to make carbon nanotubes useful in building logic circuitry, scientists are pushing to demonstrate their high speed, high packing density and low power consumption capabilities as well as the ability to make them viable for potential mass production.

"The success of nanoelectronics will largely depend on the ability to prepare well characterized and reproducible nano-structures, such as carbon nanotubes," said Dr. Phaedon Avouris, IBM Fellow and lead researcher for IBM's carbon nanotube efforts. "Using this technique, we are now able to see and understand the local electronic behavior of individual carbon nanotubes."

To date, researchers have been able to build carbon nanotube transistors with superior performance, but have been challenged with reproducibility issues. Carbon nanotubes are sensitive to environmental influences. For example, their properties can be altered by foreign substances, affecting the flow of electrical current and changing device performance. These interactions are typically local and change the density of electrons in the various devices of an integrated circuit, and even along a single nanotube.

A better understanding of how the local environment affects the electrical charge of a carbon nanotube is needed to allow the fabrication of more reliable transistors. Therefore, the ability to measure local electron density changes in a nanotube is essential. A team of researchers from the IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights have just solved this problem.

This achievement was published online October 14, 2007 in the journal Nature Nanotechnology. The team monitored the color of the light scattered from the nanotube (Raman Effect), and measured small changes in the color of the light corresponding to changes in the electron density in the nanotube. The technique takes advantage of the interaction between the motion of the atoms and the motion of the electrons, so that electron density changes can be reflected in changes of the frequency of the vibrational motion of the nanotube atoms.

In March 2006, IBM announced that its researchers built the first complete electronic integrated circuit around a single carbon nanotube molecule.

A middle-aged Dalit woman was brazenly paraded naked in Chandwapur village of Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district on Saturday. Uttar Pradesh is governed by Dalit Woman. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. We all are sick to accept it.

An affluent Dalit family put Ram Pyari, 45, through this public humiliation as they believed her husband, Darbari Lal, had helped their daughter Jayanti elope. Jayanti, a divorcee, had been living with her parents for the past two years. She had eloped with Mannu, a youth from the village.

SP Amit Chandra confirmed the incident and said five youth from the family have been arrested. “ It was a well- planned crime. While Haridwari Lal, Jayanti’s father, was registering a complaint against Darbadi Lal at Isanagar police station, his family members were torturing Ram Pyari,” he said.

“They had kidnapped and locked her in their house on Friday night. However, they paraded her naked the next morning when she couldn’t give any clue about Jayanti’s whereabouts,” he further said. Ram Pyari later told the police that out of the 500 in the village no one had dared to intervene to save her.

“They abducted and locked me in a room. But they got furious when I told them that I had no idea about where Jayanti was and who she had eloped with. So they dragged me into the street and ripped off my clothes. They also groped and beat me with batons and belts,” she told the police.

The incident is gradually taking on political hues with Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Congress district president, saying his party will not sit by and allow such injustice to take place. “The victim is a poor Dalit woman while the accused are wealthy Dalits with political links... Recently, a girl was raped and killed in a police station in the same district. These incidents took place in a state where the CM herself is a Dalit woman. We will raise the issue of rising crimes against women,” Khan said.

His Mom just hugged him and said, “And you never will, but that’s O.K.”… Later the little boy asked his father, “Why does Mom seem to cry for no reason?”. “All women cry for no reason,” was all his Dad could say… The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God and when God got back to him, he asked “God, why do women cry so easily?”

GOD answered…

When I made woman, I decided she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet, made her arms gentle enough to give comfort…I gave her the inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times will come even from her own children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going and take care of her family and friends, even when everyone else gives up, through sickness and fatigue without complaining…I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances. Even when her child has hurt her badly…

She has the very special power to make a child’s boo-boo feel better and to quell a teenager’s anxieties and fears…I gave her strength to care for her husband, despite faults and I fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart…I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.

For all of this hard work, I also gave her a tear to shed. It is hers to use whenever needed and it is her only weakness.

When you see her cry, tell her how much you love her, and all she does for everyone, and even though she may still cry, you will have made her heart feel good.

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH
It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:
Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.

was believed that he had nothing left of any value..!!! Later, when the nurses were going

through his meager possessions, they found a poem.

☆。Sun rises and Sun sets. Bio - Lives continues on each planet.

Its quality and content impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every

nurse in the hospital. The old man, who had nothing left to give to the world, is now author

of this precious poem....

Family

We are one family. We live together. We can phone each other any time. We can meet each other on any occasion. We may love, hate or fight for wealth or wine. But still all family members meet each other in happiness or in sorrow. In happiness all family members sing, dance and laugh together. In sorrow all share grief with one another. We visit each other when we are in hospital or temple. We meet each other on Deepawali, Holi, brother's day, or sister's day, mother's day etc etc. We all are human beings and we all are busy in our own work to earn our livelihood. We get remuneration as per our destiny. Many relations are rich. Many are poor. We never say to each other , please do not phone me or please do not meet me.
This is family. These are family friends. We may criticize each other. We may compliant about other behavior. We may emotionally black mail each other. We may expect love against love or money against money given etc etc. We may complain that we have done this for him and he / she has not said even thank you etc. All these things are common in all families. We may whisper about each other.
This is family and this is life. We can change our friends. We can not change our relations or family. Each family lives with it's own standards. Good or bad is decided by their genes.

So I request my family friends on this site to be careful in allowing face book friends in to family circle. Blood is thicker than water. Water can never be part of blood. Particularly if we can not meet each other or phone each other etc etc.

Friends

Friends can never be family. Friends are above family members. I have seen many brothers separating after marriage. Now a days fundamentals of family are changing. Marriage is first knot of family. It has changed. Live in relationship is common. Maitri Marriage is prevalent. Money, selfishness, ego, " I am as I am", no tolerance, working woman, all have shaken the fundamentals of family. Women are standing for equal rights. Changing of partners is as common as eating dosa in morning and non veg in the evening.
Marriage is extended form of friendship. You can select friends. Friends can die for each other. Friends help each other. We can share and live with friends. Friends create social harmony to live together.

Friends can never be forgotten. We all help each other. For friendship many Mohyals have sacrificed their lives. Mohyals are always ready to sacrifice their lives. History is an example when Mohyals fought for Muslims in Karbala Maidan or sacrificed their lives to protect Britishers or who so ever came and requested for help. Mohyals were selected for British Army without any medical or written examination.

I am of the opinion that in Life both are important. Friends are gold. Family is money to purchase Gold.

So my dear friends and family persons, due to certain reasons I prefer to keep family as separate entity and friend of Astrology, (540) Bhagwat Geeta, ( 320 ) and Munni Bhai (3) or Swamiji (510 ) or My Community Mohyal (490) or Professional Friends (25)or Shakti Sthal (6) or Rani Bai ( 715 ) all as separate Identity. Each friend is of different nature and attitude. I believe in God or destiny. I see God in all living human beings. I can not differentiate between one and the other. But for the sake of others I am trying to keep different sites for family and friends. I need your cooperation.

Venus - Mercury

My Dear Friends

I am still passing through Venus main period and saturn sub period in my life. I predicted in advance that during this period I shall be mostly on the road and period shall be expensive. I may fall sick. Now this is still running. It has proved my all points.
Although I am trying my best to fall sick by increasing my weight, drinking Solan No.1 whiskey and smoking cigarettes. But some how it looks Saturn is not that strong or it has already killed me from inside. I may be any day in the hospital due to effect of planets.

After Venus - Saturn, Venus - Mercury period shall start. I may be again on the road. I may be travelling again extensively in India and abroad. I have Sada Sanchar Yoga. So I can not remain at one place for a longer period. Venus is good planet. It gives strength to work more and more. Mercury shall help me to develop business of my masters. It looks I may not die but may be saved after operation or accident.
Due to Venus Saturn I was in love and developed very good relationship with many friends. I was about to marry but again perhaps Saturn is not that strong. I am thankful to you all. Now due to change in sub period I may read more subjects of Mercury. This means like Bhagwat Geeta and Astrology or Computer Science or accounts or business management etc etc. This means I shall be now more at the following sites. Please take care that you are my friend on these sites to enjoy the benefit of Mercury sub period in Venus. Venus inclines me towards opposite sex. But as it is not with Saturn or Rahu , so I may not commit any mistakes during this period.

Please note I act as per my planets. I am no body. I am only actor and obeying orders of Planets and Stars controlled by Ganesha Elephant Human God of Hindus.
