After what certainly was a trying 2016, it’s no surprise that Pantone would declare Greenery 2017’s Color Of The Year. This shade of yellow-green implies that winter is coming to an end, and with it’s exit comes the desire to reconnect with nature, our health and each other.

If you follow JSGD on IG, or any of us individually for that matter, you know we’re all a little plant obsessed. We took this Color of the Year choice as a direct studio challenge to each create an image or print inspired by Greenery, all available for download as desktop or mobile backgrounds.

Redesigning Boston

Redesigning Boston: Mass Pike Logo

We were pretty excited to be included in the “Redesigning Boston” feature in the latest Improper Bostonian. The magazine approached several designers in the city and challenged them to describe how they would redesign something in the city – anything from a landmark to a system.

We were struck by how outdated the Mass Pike logo is – did you know it still sports a pilgrim hat? Yikes. With the recent changes to how we drive on the Pike (adios tollbooths!) we thought the road’s logo deserved to be brought into the modern era as well.

Our suggestion? A clean, typographic approach!

Studio Fieldtrip: Generate Conference

Conferences matter. It’s so important to step outside the space we’ve created in our industry and be exposed to new approaches, trends and ways of thinking. That’s why Jessica and Meaghan are hitting the road to attend Generate Conference in NYC tomorrow. After attending last year, we felt it was important to make this an annual trip for the studio. It can not be overstated how revitalized and motivated you feel after attending a conference like this.
