Joe’s Donkey

Every Saturday Joe worked in his garden. He pulled out the weeds and cleaned up
the leaves. He was always very tired. He put his donkey at the back of the garden,
under a big tree. A friend came to see him. The friend asked if he could borrow his donkey.
Can I borrow your donkey? He said.
Oh, I’m sorry, Said Joe, My donkey is not here.
Suddenly from the back of the garden, Joe’s donkey brayed loudly.
The friend looked angry.
You lied to me Joe, I can hear your animal!
Who do you believe? said Joe, me or my donkey?

My trip to Liverpool
Last Christmas I went to Liverpool in Great Britain to visit my sister and her family. I was very
happy and took lots of presents with me. I was also very sad because my dog Lucky stayed in
Barcelona in the dog hotel.
On Christmas Day we had a big meal and ate turkey and Christmas pudding. Afterwards we
pulled the Christmas crackers and talked a lot. The thing I liked the most was when I watched
English television because some programmes are very funny.
One day I visited the River Mersey with my nephew and crossed the river on a famous ferry boat
called the Snowdrop. It was very cold so afterwards we went to a café and had hot chocolate and
cake. At the end of the trip I was happy to return to Spain because it is sunny and warm here.
