The lil boy out of the blue said he wants pizza and now that he fell asleep maybe he is dreaming of it by now. Well I began thinking of the Yellow Cab Hawaiian pizza, one of their classic pizza. This is one of the lil boy’s fave and I seem to be craving for it right now since this is cheaper than our fave New York’s Finest of YC.

My loved ones have been telling me that while having a food trip is fun, it ain’t good for me to always crave and eat pizza and even pasta. I really noticed how I have grown since I had more pizza into my diet. The marks on my tummy is now calling out for those stretch marks creams more than ever that will minimize if not totally remove them, safe to use and will help promote healthy skin too. I still have not recovered the slim tummy I once had before I gave birth and the more I ate pizza as part of my diet even if I gave up rice for it, still it may have been one of the reasons I won’t lose weight and grow bigger.  As I grow sideways with more pizzas and more food trips we have, they still are as visible as ever. Sudden weight gain and loss can also cause these marks. So my sisters have been telling me let the lil boy eat but I should control these cravings especially for pizza but I love pizza. Who doesn’t?

Last March 8, 2010, the new Coco’s South Bistro in Davao opened it’s Victoria Plaza branch located next to MetroBank and near Buffet Palaza all in the Victoria Plaza Compound. We were able to try eating dinner at this new branch last weekend with my two boys. There seems to be a party there when we arrived. Our lil boy enjoyed looking and playing with the kids there. Their menu looks new but basically they still have the same food that they offer in their Torres branch. Personally this new branch looks clean, neat and more spacious but I still like the one in Torres. But definitely I like their tables in the new Victoria branch. Will post more on our first food trip there next time.

I am a coffee lover sort of but not really a coffee addict. But if it is with coffee shop that offers promotional items such as this limited edition planner 2010 or even those coffee mugs, and promotional travel mugs or tumblers I usually avail of the promo and buy those items as souvenir especially when the coffee shop I go to is not found in our place, or as an addition to my collection of coffee mugs and other stuff from these coffee shops mostly. Companies and establishments make use of these promo items to promote their company more and also for brand promotion. There is usimprints, an online store that offers such promotional products with best price guarantee and they say if you can imagine it, they’ll create it. They guarantee friendly customer service just like what I’d expect from these coffee shops that we got to. Anyway, I am trying to figure out if it is worth it to spend at least P200 for each of the 8 more visits to Blugre or should I just directly buy the Blugre planner at P350. I cannot guarantee that I can complete those number of visits until the 11th of April or if I can afford to spend as much for each visit unless I get a sponsor who’ll buy me coffee and use my promo card to be stamped on. The possibility would be I’d just buy the planner soon rather before they run out of these planners. What do you think?

Truly craving for a delicious brazo de mercedes from Goldilocks! It is called creme filled log cake in other countries but for us here we call it brazo de mercedes which is made of meringue rolls filled with golden yellow custard filling – the part I love best. May it be from Goldilocks or not as long as it its delicious, sweet and creamy then I’d readily eat that brazo right now.

This is best eaten after it has been chilled. It does not seem to taste as good and the texture is somewhat different and is best served when it has been chilled. Hmmm if only they have delivery or if only someone can watch the lil boy for me right now, I’d rush to the mall and buy one right now. Yummy, yummy, yummy!!!

As for me, I felt then that I still have a little space in my tummy for dessert so to go with hubby’s hot durian coffee, I tried and ordered Blugre Durian Cheesecake (P110). I have been trying out different kinds of cheesecakes whenever I can when we have a food trip. It’s delicious, not too sweet for me, it’s creamy and I love the caramel on top!

I actually wanted to have coffee there because I wanted to ask someone I knew from that office building where I used to work regarding a canvass I’m doing for office furniture for a good friend of ours. But our friend was not there that’s why we just had coffee with my boys except for the lil boy of course who shared the cheesecake with me.

I’ll gonna have to do my canvass for furniture online. I’ll check that online office supplies and furniture store I browsed through with hubby the other day. They have the right furniture that will truly keep the work area organized and keep you working comfortably. They are on sale now and has free shipping. I was personally interested though in the early learning furniture I saw there but haven’t browsed through it yet. If I had brought my laptop, I could be browsing through those furnitures now while enjoying our time at Blugre which is one of those coffee shops in town with free WiFi service. I told hubby I’ll be back there next time coz I wanted to complete my card and get that free planner. I just hope it won’t be at the end of the year for that may be too late.

I miss the pizza from Sbarro Fresh Italian Cooking. I hope Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao will open a branch of Sbarro in Davao.

When we feel like dining out and going for another food trip, we go to Antonio’s Bar and Grill and we usually order their hot and spicy beef soup (below) which has been a favorite recently. We also order this when we happen to go to their branch in SM City Davao. It is nice to have a hot soup during your meal and since hubby likes spicy food then this one is a fave for both of us from now on.

Our latest visit there was the other day because we were craving for this hot and spicy beef soup. I actually miss my mom’s cooking as this is often part of our meals during the day but her’s was not spicy just hot beef soup. While waiting for food to be served, our lil boy wandered around the place and his attention at one point was caught by the under the sea scenes shown on the wall-mounted TV. I suddenly remember my sis asked me to canvass for tv stands and there is a great selection to browse for wood, metal, wire and glass TV stands, designed to hold both flat screen and the common/conventional (CRT) TV at this stands and mounts site I found online with free shipping and 4% off on everything.

Now I wonder if Antonio’s has free wifi coz while waiting for food to be served for dinner, I may browse through that site and show hubby what I found that morning since we are also looking for TV mounts ourselves and we got more convinced to go for a wall mount upon seeing this one at Antonio’s where they mounted the TV on the wall so that the customers could see even if there are customers seated on the table near the TV area. Antonio’s is a nice place to go to for good Filipino food and nice ambiance. This barnch is also near our place which makes it convenient for us to go to for another family food trip.

I want to have sliced, toasted garlic bread for breakfast today but we have already consumed the last garlic loaf bread hubby bought at Boyd’s last Saturday before they closed.

Thinking about this place, I sometimes can’t forget thinking about their Boyd’s Meaty Jeff Special Pizza which probably is my fave among their pizza. I suddenly remember that the last time we were there, I was able to take a peek of their kitchen. I wonder how hot it could be working in there for almost twelve hours with their hot oven that cooks these pizzas. This reminds me of what my friend who works part-time for a pizzeria abroad and told me how important it is for these workers to have disability insurance which includes in their case paid sick leave, short-term disability benefits, and long-term disability benefits. You know how difficult it often to get the disability benefits that affected workers deserve. There are social disability benefit representatives that will provide help to those with disabilities, providing access to a lot of financial and health care information and services that help those workers live financially secure and as healthy as possible. I hope our workers here do have such help and benefits first and foremost.

This kind of thoughts come out when you go beyond the delicious food that is served in front of you and you come to think of the work condition of the people working inside those resto kitchens not particularly Boyd’s but it applies to all restos and fast food kitchens where workers or food crew are constantly exposed to conditions not as comfortable compared to other workers. This makes us appreciate the labor and work that they do in order to give us yummy and delicious food which we enjoy such as my fave garlic bread and pizza.

Hubby said it was okay to eat there as long a they would accept our credit card since we did not bring much cash.
