Just this morning, I had a call from a friend advising me of a rumor that I am supporting Wendi Peters for mayor and then this afternoon, I read another rumor in the editorial page that I am supporting Pat Rockingberg. I am refreshed to see that my message is getting around town, I am ready, willing and able to work with whomever is elected to the mayor’s position. While I don’t take these rumors lightly, I do wonder why people are taking such measures to distort my message that I am running without the support of any mayoral candidate or backing by any one group of people? To make it clear, I am running for the citizens of Mount Airy to ensure that their opinions are valued and that their interests are fairly and equally represented in town hall. My official position regarding mayor is that I am not endorsing any mayoral candidate because I do not feel it is fair for me to endorse one candidate over the other, while I am running for town council. If you drive by my home, you will see one sign on my lawn and that is my sign. If I have stopped by your house during these last weeks of campaigning or have spoken to you personally, I have told you the same thing -- I will work with whomever is elected to ensure that you are fairly and equally represented in town hall. If you happen to hear otherwise, please feel free to email, call, or stop me on the street and I will set the record straight. Please be sure to vote on May 3rd for the candidate of your choice.

Thank you.
David Blais
Candidate for Mount Airy Town Council

I can not believe that the campaign has gone this fast. Only two weeks remain, and I am having alot of fun going door to door. It is great to see familiar faces from my childhood and new faces who provide kind words and support. I was nominated for Town Council along with two other candidates. In addition, two candidates were nominated for the Mayor's seat. The Frederick News Post and Mt Airy Messenger were present to cover the event and interviewed all the candidates afterwards.

I would like to say thank you to Councilman Dave Pyatt for nominating me.
