The story continues, but not yet to it's finale. Very strong hints that the presence of Nitric Oxide is important in preventing endothelial damage, this would also link to the protective benefit of exposure to sunlight and Vitamin C in being an aid to reducing such damage. The process of clotting in the arteries is examined and the role of biomechanical stress - increased and turbulent blood flow - is discussed in causing damage, also explaining why you never get atherosclerotic plaques in veins and pulmonary arteries. All fascinating. Don't accept my summary, I may have got it wrong! As always, hugely readable.

A post by +Simon Wood set me off on a hunt through my lenses, filters and of course the filter mount sizes. I bought a set of step-up and step-down screw-in rings a little while ago and quickly decided that the step-down ones are a waste of time because of vignetting and that the step-up ones only work really well when there is only one ring being used. In my case I have a 49-62mm step-up lens that works well with a 35mm full frame Sony (Zeiss) lens and variable ND, and circular polarising filters.

But what for the future? Should I rationalise the filters I use? Should I go back to my Cokin system (I really never got on with it even though I do acknowledge it's much more flexible) or do I review my strategy and plan to have just two filter sizes 62mm and then perhaps 72mm (or 77mm) with a 67-72mm (and 72-77mm) ring(s). Sony or third-party don't do much in the way of 77mm, so 72mm would seem sensible.

I came across this post and it sets out all the info you might need to help you make your mind-up. I'm still not sure but I think I'll probably plump for the 72mm solution as an addition to the existing 62mm set. I could sell all the filters less than 72mm and get more step-up rings - 49-72, 62-72, 67-72 - but is that a good idea?

Your guidance and suggestions would be welcomed.

This isn't an advert for Peak Design, although it could be as I'm well pleased with all their clever little accessories to make the life of a photography enthusiast like me just that little bit easier.

This is a post to announce that +Peter Harrison and I think that Google has changed the way you view and comment on individual photos in albums, albeit it not in as friendly way as you can still do on the Classic (not upgraded) desktop browser, and certainly not as friendly a way as you used to be able to it on the old mobile app.

So what has happened, and how do you make use of it. I used to enjoy commenting on photos in albums and got very cross/frustrated when it became really difficult to do. You had to click on an image, then click on the three dots to view the image on the web, then wait and wait a little longer whilst a different browser with the URL plus,google.com was loaded on the device, then wait a little longer for the comment box to appear, then wait a while (and hope) that it got posted and then wonder who (other than the sender of the post) would ever see your priceless comment because it would never appear in the stream of the circle that the album was originally shared with. Duh!

Nothing much has changed as far as the last piece of retro-engineering has occurred. But ... you do now have the option to view the whole album "on the web" and go through it image after image without being returned back to the app. Hurrah!

Better, but still #fail Google. Duh! Get your act together and give us the original functionality back. I want to browse an album from the app, comment on an image and know that the comment I make will be shared back to the Circle the album was shared with. Please.

I've put these three images (Christmas presents) in an album for you to comment on. I wonder if anyone else will ever see those comments ... other than me?
