I want to be an actor. Nix that, I want to be an actor in commercials. I want to sell products for companies with my favorable looks and pleasant voice. And although I know the road is tough, I think its a path that was laid out for me before birth.
In recent years I became enamored with a man called Billy Mays. He was the king of the Pitchmen. And let me tell you, if he was selling it, people were buying it. But what made him different is that he was always careful about what he sold, because his name meant something.
Now, these days, a name doesn’t mean much, but you could always trust that the name Billy Mays meant a problem you had, was likely solved by his booming voice and hard sell method. And if you met Billy in the street and told him he helped solve one of your problems, I bet he’d trade a paycheck for that. And I never even met the guy.
I guess what I’m saying is: I know Billy Mays will never be replaced (although there is quite an impressive heir in Billy Mays III), but his legacy can be carried on through others. Now I don’t mean to say that you’ll be seeing me in a blue shirt and khakis yelling at you on t.v. But what you can count on is that I have been inspired by Billy to help people solve their problems.
I have a family myself, and all I want to do is make a comfortable life for them. I’ve been a successful salesman for quite some time, but the scope of my abilities is wasted in selling products and services I could care less about. I want to sell something that genuinely helps people. And I hope that by Billy inspiring me to carry on this noble cause, that I in turn can inspire others to do the same.
When we first “met” Billy Mays, he was in our home. He was smiling. He was yelling. But he was welcome. We never thought he would show himself as an inspiration to millions. But he did. And in any way I can, I will do my best to inspire others through honesty, hard work, and helpfulness.
Finally, I myself ask something of you, my reader. If you know anyone, who can get me started in the pitching/commercial acting world please let me know. I will do anything it takes to be the best. I will travel anywhere, I will work endlessly. I will intern, I will mop the SET of an infomercial. Just to one day know that I may change someones life, through a simple little product. Thank, you everyone.

I totally laughed out loud when I saw this. I don’t support gay marriage, but I hadn’t visited Wil’s blog in a while. I forgot how funny he was. Certainly worth a quick little post for you guys.
If you haven’t been to Wil Wheaton’s blog (yes he played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek : TNG), you need to head there asap. Plenty of good things to read, it won’t help you make any money, but it will give you a good chuckle, or some decent insight. Check Wil Wheaton’s Blog out right here..
