I was lucky enough to Visit my sister in Singapore, She was working there for a while and it gave me the chance to learn a little about the culture and way of life of Singapore.

The first shock to me was how clean the place was, I'm literally talking spotless, to the point where even the flies don't have a chance to harass you as they were not there. OK, lets talk about some more interesting stuff then flies. Singapore is a small city, yet extremely intense, people work and play hard and with a zero policy to violence, you feel very safe in comparison to violence. Everyone on a night out our having fun without a care in the world. Singapore has such a mixture of culture, due to its interesting historic background. The Dutch, the British Chinese Malaysian native Singaporeans and Indians have all influence the dynamic city. Therefore when you come to this place you have a complete mix of architecture representing different types of cultures. A place known as Little India exist which is incredible, the Indian food is amazing and you can easily step into Hindu Temples of If you ask nicely A Muslim Mosque. I had an interesting chat with some lovely Muslims in a Mosque who were happy to share with me their beliefs and customs.

Singapore really is a city of contrast, from the super rich and glamorous who drive round in super cars, to very modest people who get by on very little. You can splash out in Singapore but also eat on the very cheap, The Hawker centers are amazing value , (food courts) they boast local quinine and have a buzzing atmosphere.

This was actually taken in langkawi Malaysia, which is very near to Singapore. Here are some locals.

This was taken in a fantastic Temple in Chins town Singapore. I wanted to capture the enigmatic smile of Buddha and the warm sense of color.

Chinese statues often possess a very delicate and beautiful finish, You can admire the way the sculptor has captured the drapes of materiel on Buddha.

I loved this womans fabric, she kindly alowed me to take a picture of her, she was family to the owner of the shop and was just sitting here watching the world go by.

Clearly he enjoyed the idea of me taking a picture, in the back of his van. This is what is so great about diverse culture and countries, I mean you would never get this in London.

Japan is a truly beautiful place I can see why people get completely captivated and obsessed with Japanese Culture. The food quality is high, people are friendly and polite, its so clean and last but not least its deeply rooted in its ancient culture.

I took this picture in Akasaka Tokyo, the picture represents part of a shrine, here you wash your hands and cleanse your spirit before entering this place of holiness.

Shanghai Neon paradise

Here is one of my strongest pictures from my travels, The bright colors of the city of Shanghai Illuminate the sky almost painting it in a neon wash. I also wanted to capture the sharpness of the city scape against the blur of the sky and the smooth effect of the water. Since the city was so bright I used a high F stop around 22.

I took This picture A few years ago. with a standard 50mm kit lenses.

I was playing around with editing techniques in photos-shop , however I have to say that I find this type of over the top contrast a bit fake. Its all ways better to try and capture nature in its natural glory. Therefor I must keep practicing with my camera and keep on writing down everything I am learning.

Here Are just a few pictures form Christmas. Lense 50 mm f/.14 prime cannon lens. Its Christmas time and it has snowed in little England.

Playing around with composition. The person in this picture has a type of strength about him.

Christmas to me ins very magical, the lights, the warm glow of candles and all the shiny and sparkly decorations, its the one time of the year where I feel like a kid again. Here I am capturing a close up of the inner world of a Christmas tree.

Photo taken at college, person playing pool, I'm so near to a reflective piece of materiel, that the lense has blurred and the bottom of the photo has an almost angelic feel to it.

A Day out in London (Trafalgar Square)

last Wednesday I was trying to think of an idea for my final year, my mind was blanc so I decided to go to London to gain some enthusiasm and inspiration.

I went into The National Gallery, noting down on a pad, all my favorite picture, so at a later stage I could reference them for influences.

HIS NAME WAS VALENTINE AND HE CAME TO TRAFALGAR SQUARE TO ENTERTAIN!!!

At this point he said ''hey their buddy with the camera you might want to look away now''.

How could I forget this one, Now its not every day you see a man play the bongos on his bum. This guy was immensely entertaining.

These guys were protesting against hidden camera, I didn't quite get the full story as I was to busy snapping away, This kind lady was questioning the man about what it was all about and then posed for the camera like a pro.

The V for Vendetta masked worked very nicely.

Ightham Mote a National Trust Site

Nestling in a sunken valley, Ightham Mote, dating from 1320 with important later additions and alterations, is a rare example of a moated medieval manor house

It was a great day out and I took many photos of this great Medieval manor House.

In this shot, I hoped to reveal the soft surface of the water against the hard stone of the cherub.

The lady was explaining about the property, a very natural shot. The lighting was also effective in this shot.

Capturing the detailed carving of the cross. good level of exposure.

Great sense of color of the stain glass window.

I have been spending the past two days completing This character design. My inspiration came from Native American Art and real life studies.

I decided to place my images together in order to clearly show my development.

These were the Final Six shot, with the finished piece in the Middle. I experimented with different background colors until eventually making one which complemented the character.

The Science Museum London

I knew there was specific exhibition, at the science museum called Who Am I. The exhibition was about DNA and about how characteristic's of people can be traced back to their genetics.

A huge board displayed an Asian Man's face; the bright red swirls indicated DNA. I took this photo because I thought I could use it for one of personal Projects. I started imagining a character formed out of strands of DNA.

This statue represented the earliest European. I thought I could use the detail of the model to inspire me to make a characters face.

Life Drawing Studies.

Referring to the book, Anatomy For The Artist I decided to draw some sketches. This was to gain a better understanding of the human form. By placing the skeleton into the body you can learn more about the positioning of anatomy.

Attempting to capture the way in which the body twists.

These rough little skeleton sketches will be useful when placing a character in various positions.

The image on the left displays the direction of force on the bones. The right image shows life drawing sketches, I need to vary my line quality to show tension in the subject.

Forbidden Planet, Who doesn't Like superheroes?

I felt like I needed some inspiration so decided to go to London and ended up buying an 85 mm telephoto Cannon lens and a very cool street fighter art book from the famous Forbidden Planet store in Covent Garden.

Iron Man

Forbidden Planet is a truly awesome place, the models are almost perfectly matched to superheroes you see in the comics and films.

Forbidden Planet has a very impressive display cabinet, containing very expensive miniature figures of comic heroes and other characters from games and films. I took the opportunity and snapped away.

This was a good opportunity to test my new camera lens and also simply admire the level of detail of this model.

Here you can clearly see the level of detail and accuracy of these models. Just look at the anatomy and the way the hand falls.

Art Inspires Technology, Technology Inspires Art ''John Lasseter'' Director and Chief Creative Officer of Pixar.

Designing a Native American Warrior in a digital concept art style. I ensured that my sketch would be from real life, I asked the subject to pose to quickly capture the stance.

First sketch, capturing the pose.

Second Pose referring to an anatomy book, putting in a basic skeleton to make my character have weight and sense of realism.

Starting to take shape, some muscle definition.

Sketching the Armour. The wolf head on the shoulder will blend in to an armored shoulder pad. After researching native American culture, I discovered much of their traditions and customs are closely related to nature. The crow on the characters head will act as a helmet.

I'm trying this new thing , where I take my camera around with me almost everywhere I go.

I needed some inspiration from a sky , as I'm collaborating with a friend and my job is to paint the sky's.

This cloud was perfect for a storm. When I looked at this cloud I started to imagine it stretching out and taking form of a monster, imagining it stretching out from a tight ball, suddenly stretching out its massive arms.

Using that Image I tried to transfer it by painting it in photo shop. My friend drew the characters in the following images, while I painted the backgrounds. The clouds symbolize the task at hand.

The final Animation will Have a 3.D mountain in, this is a work in progress.

The sun begins to come out showing a sign of hope, as the character almost reaches the top.
