opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level.

"If you had told me as a young boy I would have played for and won trophies with my boyhood club Manchester United, proudly captained and played for my country over one hundred times and lined up for some of the biggest clubs in the world, I would have told you it was a fantasy.

"I'm fortunate to have realised those dreams.

"To this day, one of my proudest achievements is captaining my country. I knew every time I wore the Three Lions shirt, I was not only following in a long line of great players, I was also representing every fan that cared passionately about their country.

"I'm honoured to represent England both on and off the pitch.

"I wouldn't have achieved what I have done today without my family. I'm grateful for my parents' sacrifice, which made me realise my dreams.

"I owe everything to Victoria and the kids, who have given me the inspiration and support to play at the highest level for such a long period. I also want to thank Simon Fuller and his team for their continued support.

"I want to thank all my teammates, the great managers that I had the pleasure of learning from. I also want to thank the fans who have all supported me and given me the strength to succeed.

"Nothing will ever completely replace playing the game I love, however I feel like I'm starting a new adventure and I'm genuinely excited about what lies ahead.

"I'm fortunate to have been given many opportunities throughout my career and now I feel it's my time to give back."

David Beckham Comes to China (video)

David Beckham was deployed in a deep-lying central role, but was overshadowed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic who scored both goals. At 37 years and nine months, David Beckham is the oldest outfield player to feature in Ligue 1 since Claude Makelele (38 years old and three months) in May 2011, also at PSG.

PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti said of Beckham: "He made a very good performance. He made good passes as usual, he was well positioned on the pitch alongside Blaise Matuidi. He was very solid."

David Beckham to be Chinese Super League ambassador

David Beckham is likely to become an international ambassador for the coming 2013 Chinese Super League (CSL), the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

Zhu Qilin, CEO of the company that runs the Chinese league, said that it is almost certain that Becks will be the CSL international ambassador, although some procedures still need to be completed.
However Mr. Zhu denied that David Beckham will attend the opening ceremony of the new CSL season.

Becks rejected other offers and signed a five-month contract for the French club on Thursday in a stunning move.

“It has never been about the biggest contract or the money,” said David Beckham in his press conference announcing his deal.

“It’s always been about playing football. I’ve been lucky to achieve what I’ve achieved and earned what I’ve earned.”

Beckham's salary — estimated at €800,000 ($1 million) a month, nearly double his salary at the Los Angeles Galaxy — will all be donated to a yet-to-be-named Parisien children’s charity.

David Beckham approached by two MLS clubs over ownership role

New MSL franchises in Miami and New York have approached Becks, who asked for the option to own a MLS club when he joined Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007.

Both clubs are hopeful they will become members of the U.S. league before 2016, and both are keen for David Beckham to play a major role.
But the Beckham intends to play on for at least one more season with a number of clubs all around the world in the running.

I've only met David twice - once at the Military Awards in 2010 & on a night out in the West End in Feb 2012. We were out in a group of friends & it was just a normal fun evening out... Just so we are clear I have never been on my own with him and never arranged to meet up," Jenkins tweeted back in August.

However recently, the singer has been speaking again about the no-affair, according to the Western Mail .

"I didn't want people to think I would date a married man," she said. "I wouldn't want anyone to think I would do that to another woman. I wanted to put it right. It couldn't have been more wrong. I couldn't have people thinking such things of me."

Jenkins maintains that the message was necessary, although none knew about the rumor.

“I was getting death threats before I spoke about it. You wouldn’t believe how crazy and out of control it was getting,” she said.

“Some people who had not heard about it didn’t necessarily understand why I did it. But a lot of people did hear about it and I wanted to put it right. It (the rumour) couldn’t have been more wrong. I couldn’t have people thinking such things of me.”

David Beckham is voted sexiest man in a suit

Becks has been voted the sexiest man in a suit.

The Welsh singer has now opened up about her ordeal, telling The Mirror earlier this week: "I found myself in a situation where I had to say something. It was a bad week." Jenkins was later forced to call the police after receiving abuse from Twitter trolls.

When asked how she was feeling following the allegations, Katherine said: “You know what, I’m OK now, but I really felt like I had to stand up for myself and I had to put it right. Hopefully it’s all dying down now."
David Beckham is celebrating the success of his bodywear collection for H&M with a new campaign, focusing on the form and fit of the underwear classics that make up his bodywear range. The powerful new images were shot in Los Angeles by photographer Alasdair McLellan, with David photographed against a black background to show him and the bodywear in stark relief. As David constantly likes to experiment with his look, he unveils a new style for this new H&M campaign.
“I am so excited about this new campaign for David Beckham Bodywear at H&M. I wanted to express the strength and quality of the David Beckham Bodywear collection with these images, and also wearability and fit. I love the range and feel so comfortable in each of the pieces. As soon as the collection was launched, it became second nature for me to wear it!” says David Beckham.
David Beckham Bodywear is an exclusive, long-term collaboration with H&M, which has become an instant global success following its launch in February 2012. The collection, which remains permanently in-store and online, focuses on a set of core products designed by David Beckham and his team, with special attention paid to the comfort and fit of each garment, from briefs and trunks to undershirts, T-shirts, Henleys and long johns. The collection stays constant around these pieces, creating a bodywear range of new classics that has already become an essential part of many men’s wardrobes. And in November, as the holiday season approaches, some new pieces that will make the perfect winter gift will be added.
The David Beckham Bodywear collection is available at around 1,800 H&M stores in 44 countries worldwide, as well as online.

Becks was a key figure in the bid team that secured the Games in 2005 and has been one of the most visible celebrity supporters of it in the years since.

Many had anticipated his hard work for the cause would help him win one of the three over-age player slots in Team Great Britain's soccer team but the manager Stuart Pearce opted not to take Becks.

"He's a north-east London boy, he knows what sports means in those areas, and he's probably one of our longest and truest supporters.

"We are scoping a role for him at the moment... I actually spoke to him over the course of the weekend. We're working on it but you'll have to watch this space."

Sir Sebastian Coe also made it clear that Beckham's task would not be a mere marketing opportunity. "He will be in London with us and he will have two very clear roles within the Games. He will be more than an ambassador given what he has done, the commitment he has given and the amount of time he has spent with us in London on this project."

Becks made Stuart Pearce's shortlist of 35 but was not selected for the final 18-man squad although he had been widely expected to be named as one of the three over-age players in Stuart Pearce's Under-23 squad for the London Games in July and August..

"Everyone knows how much playing for my country has always meant to me, so I would have been honored to have been part of this unique Team GB squad," Beckham said today in a statement to The Associated Press.

"Naturally I am very disappointed, but there will be no bigger supporter of the team than me. And like everyone, I will be hoping they can win the gold."

"As a Londoner, I will have been really proud to have played a small part in bringing the Olympics to my home town as part of Seb's -Sebastian Coe- team, and I can't wait for the games to begin and enjoy every moment along with the rest of Great Britain," Beckham said.
The list represents the latest stage in a process that will end with the announcement of Stuart Pearce’s final 18-man team on July 6.
Great Britain hasn’t even qualified for Olympic soccer since 1960 but the host nation gets an automatic bid. A soccer team can only carry three players older than 23 on its roster, and Beckham is hoping to be one of them.

“I would love to be on the Olympic team,’’ Beckham told NBC’s Meredith Vieira in a wide-ranging interview. “I’m very proud of what I’ve achieved in my career so far. I’ve obviously played for the national team for quite a few years, and now I want to represent the G.B. team in the Olympics.’’
