CNN suspended political analyst Roland Martin on Wednesday for "offensive" tweets during the Super Bowl that some critics said were anti-gay. Martin twitted about a commercial that showed David Beckham in underwear: "If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham's H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him."

Martin said afterwards that he was making a joke about soccer and that he doesn't support violence against anyone although he also tweeted: "Who the hell was that New England Patriot they just showed in a head to toe pink suit? Oh, he needs a visit from (hash)teamwhipdatass."

Martin later issued an apology on his website saying he was "truly sorry" to those who felt his tweet was anti-gay, homophobic or advocating violence. "I'm disheartened that my words would embolden prejudice," he said.

Launching his new underwear range for H&M, David Beckham said that his sons' reaction on glimpsing their dad in his latest unclad ad campaign was: "'Oh my GOD Daddy - not again. They were like: 'that's really good, but everyone's gonna see you in your pants." The underwear line goes on sale in 1800 H&M stores around the world on February 2.

Becks revealed his least favourite body part - "my toes are not great. But they're not bad" - and shockingly conceded "my naked days are over."

"I definitely walk around the house in my underwear. But not naked. With the boys it's not a problem because they're naked all the time but with a little girl now, it is different," he said.

Brazilian striker Neymar would be honoured to play on the same pitch as David Beckham in the 2012 London Olympics.

Neymar said: “It would be a pleasure to play against David Beckham. Fortunately I had the chance to meet him last year, he was very kind and it would be an honour to play on the same pitch as him this year in London.”

The striker is targeting a first gold medal for Brazil in the football section of the competition: “This is a dream of mine, I am waiting to play in London and looking forward to it. Brazil have never won the gold and this is a chance for us to bring it back. It's very important to everyone here.”

In a series of photos posted on the H&M's Facebook page, Beckham can be seen modeling boxer briefs, tank tops and shorts from the collection, which hits store shelves on February 2.

PSG: David Beckham deal '95 percent complete'

Paris Saint-Germain have offered David Beckham an 18 month contract worth $18.7 million. Club officials on Monday told French sports newspaper L'Equipe that a deal to acquire Beckham is "95 percent complete." The Galaxy, Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers also reportedly have made offers to Beckham.

Beckham said last week, after an exhibition game in Australia, that he would not make any announcement about his future plans until after Christmas.

"I can tell you that as of today it's certainly not a done deal," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said Monday.

"I think the Galaxy are very much interested in bringing David back. Again, it will be David's decision, but we're keenly interested in keeping the player here."

Beckham officially becomes a free agent on December 31st.

According to ESPN, David Beckham has started talks to join Paris St-Germain.

Becks' contract runs out at the end of December and PSG have become one of the favourite teams to sign him.

Leonardo, who coached Beckham during his loan move at the San Siro last year, confirmed PSG were one of those clubs:

"Yes, we've spoken. These situations take time. We'll see if something suits him and suits us."

Los Angeles Galaxy won its first MLS Cup with a 1-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo. The championship was secured by Landon Donovan's goal in the 72nd minute on pass from Robbie Keane.

Beckham was brilliant throughout the postseason: "We've been through a lot this season," Beckham said. "We've had a lot of games. Bruce and his staff are the ones that got us to this game tonight."

Los Angeles had the most expensive roster in MLS history, but the Galaxy got full value from their three highest-priced players (Beckham, Donovan and Keane), particularly in the playoffs.

Galaxy coach Bruce Arena -the first coach to win three MLS titles- felt the championship justified every expense and expectation of the experiment they started in 2007 with Beckham's move to America. "David is a champion," said Arena.

"I've been around great athletes and competitors in my life, and this guy is as good as it comes. Unbelievable desire to win. He's a great teammate, a great person. He's done it all in every country he's been in. What more can you say about a guy like this and what he's brought to this organization and this league in five years? He gutted it out tonight. David Beckham has been named the MLS Comeback Player of the Year after helping the LA Galaxy into this weekend's title decider against the Houston Dynamos. He got 59.8 per cent of votes cast by media, players and club officials, and won over the other finalists, Charlie Davies (D.C. United) and Dominic Oduro (Chicago Fire)..

Becks missed most of 2009-10 season after suffering an injury while he was on loan at AC Milan. The English mildfielder returned this season to play 26 games - the most in a season since he moved to the US - while also contributing 15 assists and 2 goals.

David Beckham has admitted he is “amazed” by the number of offers he has had and believes he can play on until he is 40. Becks is weighing up where to continue his remarkable career when the MLS season ends on November 20.

In an interview with Telegraph Sport, he said he was seriously considering staying with Los Angeles Galaxy but that if he did move, he would insist that any club he joins gives him a regular starting place so he can realize his ambition of leading the British team to gold in next year’s Olympics.

Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City are among the clubs who have shown interest in the 36 year-old, but Beckham revealed there have been several other enquiries.

“What will actually happen next I still can’t say, but what is very important in the decision in terms of what I do, be it staying here, or going to PSG or wherever, is that I get enough time on the pitch because I want to be part of the Olympics. “I’ve made no secret of that. Even to be in the team would be incredible. To be part of that Olympic spirit and to be able to win gold for Britain would be the ultimate goal for me.

"I like Leonardo a lot, he is a great manager," Becks told Canal+ television on Sunday.

"I'm honoured to know that he wants me to join PSG but I am a LA Galaxy player. It's exciting, great things are happening in France. Leonardo has arrived, there's a lot of money,"

Beckham will be a free agent in November.

PSG went on a recruitment drive after their takeover by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) during the summer, spending a French record 80 million euros on players.
