Every once in a while I come across a cool brand, a company that is doing things right and impresses me. I recently discovered a company called JLab Audio out of Oceanside California that is doing just that. I was browsing for headphones online and I got results for panasonic headphones, sony headphones, beats by dre and all the usual headphone and earbud companies. Being the person I am I didn’t want any of the big name brands, I like to find smaller companies that are doing cooler things and support them.

Thankfully I stumbled on JLab carries a headphone that I actually envisioned would be “The coolest earbuds on the planet” once upon a time. As an entrepreneur I tend to have a product driven, innovative mind and I love to brainstorm new product concepts that could one day become a reality, and JLab audio, based out of Oceanside California has done just that!

So what did I envision? I envisioned a pair of earbud headphones that were made of wood instead of plastic. Yep, that’s right… wood. Wood is eco-friendly, and wood holds sound better than plastic. It enhances sound and gives you a better audible experience. Ever wonder why acoustic guitars are made of wood? as well as other instruments? it tends to work well.

They Innovate Everyday Items.

So for the audible experience as well as the green/eco-friendly factor, and the ‘cool’ factor I thought it would be awesome to have a pair of earbud headphones that are made of wood. I realized this is a difficult job and these headphones would probably cost more than most headphones but I think the user experience and sound quality would be worth it.

Here’s what those headphones look like…

JLab audio has done just that, and I wanted to share with you what this company is doing right as a business and how you can learn from the way they operate. Not only are they the first company that (as far as I know and have seen) has created earbuds made of wood but they also are doing many other things right as a company that made them stand out in my mind as a company to watch and learn from.

The company also has an earbud recycle program. If you recycle an old broken pair of earbuds the company gives you 30% off your purchase. This means that you can send in your old pair of earbuds that aren’t working anymore and receive 30% off your pair of wood earbuds that cost $60 regularly.

They Are Green.

Beyond the coolest earbuds I have ever seen, using wood which has more style, class and swag and is also more eco-friendly they have made other big steps as a brand as well. They are the only tech/audio company that I have seen that has an earbud recycle program. Going green is cool, and they are leading in that way.

They also understand the value of personalization and customization within their products. One thing apple has done well is to allow users to have different color Ipods, Iphones, Imacs etc… You can customize the color and stickerizing (it’s a new word) has become very popular on Macbooks. JLab audio is allowing users to customize their headphones, speakers and audio products on their website. This can be used for personal use to create your own personalized headphones or room speakers or it can be used as a company as promotional items to give users products they can actually use with your brand on it.

They Customize, Personalize And Tailor To The User.

And that is cool.

Brands of the future will make products and services more effective and efficient for the user. They will be greener and more aware of their impact on the planet as a whole, and they will allow their users to create their own customized version of their product. With print on demand, 3-d printing and technology to customize products on the rise this should be something you consider if you have products that can be customized.

We can all learn from brands and products that innovate and ‘change the game’ and I believe JLab audio is one of those companies.

So what can we learn from them as entrepreneurs? What is JLab audio doing right?

Innovate The Ordinary.

Green The Brown.

Customize For The Consumer.

I believe these three lessons can be applied to any business, products or consumers. Hopefully you learn from this brand as I am and will.

To your success!

David King

P.S. The Acoustic Natural Ebony Wood And Metal Fusion Earbuds that I got are made out of titanium, kevlar, wood and 24 karat gold might be the most impressive, coolest and greenest earbud on the market. I’m loving my pair, the audio quality is great! grab one to experience them here.

I’ve seen and heard a lot of crazy stories in life about how people were ‘dead and gone’ or had completely failed only to rise from the ashes from what they thought was the fire of their demise.

When life takes you out for the count you have two options, to react, respond or to freeze.

To react is to take the ‘flight’ route, to respond is to take the ‘fight’ route, to freeze is to take the ‘whatever happens happens route’ which most victims take.

Most people run, or play the victim.

But some people fight.

This is one of those stories…

Ross Capicchioni lived through something that most of us couldn’t even imagine, and to be in court while people are praising your shooter right in front of you? How do you think that would feel?

One thing that he learned and I learned again by watching this is that how you live your life is completely your choice, if you choose to react or respond is your choice and how you flow through (or to not flow through) life’s deepest challenges and darkest days is still up to you.

So take responsibility, stop telling yourself the same old story of pain, sorrow, regret and how you’ve been wronged and fight for your life, for something you believe in, for change, for that positive shift.

Realize that you have had a second chance at life, at change, and at fulfilling your ultimate purpose for being here, your destiny. You don’t need to get shot multiple times to remember that life is short and precious, just hearing his story reminds you of that! So take what time you have and use it for the betterment of yourself, of the people on the planet, and the planet itself.

And remember… You are always right on the cusp of a big breakthrough… keep going.

Stay inspired.

David King

As you may or may not know, i’m a huge fan of the network marketing business model. I believe it has a lot of potential and gives anyone the ability to grow and create a sustainable income stream from home with a very small investment.

There are hiccups on the network marketing path though, if you decide to take that path. Having been in probably 10 or more network marketing companies and having failed over and over again, and finally had some success I can give you a few pointers as to how to avoid these pitfalls and find a network marketing company that you can have success with faster.

One of the biggest pitfalls I see network marketers have is they are short-sighted, they get blinded by the flash, the money and the big promises for growth, huge income and massive success overnight. The problem with these flashy ‘get rich quick’ pitches is that the person does not join the business for the true passion and underlying belief that this resonates with their spirit and their soul moving forward. If something just appeals to you on a monetary level it wil probably be short lived and not give you much fulfillment or real satisfaction.

Having been in multiple network marketing companies and failed multiple times myself I have realized looking back that I joined most companies in order to ‘earn money’ as opposed to make a difference, help people and truly promote and endorse something I believe in that I believe can change the world. The possibilites are limitless, but so are the pitches… So listen with your heart instead of your ego, it’s a very important thing to keep in mind when deciding to work with a company.

If you listen to your ego, you will pay more attention to the compensation plan and flash than the actual business, products, services and heart of the company. This will turn into a dead end job that is uninspired and unfulfilled faster than you can microwave a muffin.

The biggest lesson I have learned is to truly resonate with the company you work with on a mind, body and spirit level. When you resonate something your belief in it shines through and you sell and grow much faster. The biggest believers of their mission sell it best and grow fastest. If you truly believe in something you will find a way to sell it. grow it, spread it and share it further and further.

If you don’t resonate with something, don’t believe it fully or are in it just for the compensation plan do you really think you will sell a lot of it? long-term?

Now that I have learned this, I have chosen to work with a great company that has a spectacular top quality product line that really resonates with me. Not only that but a percentage of the profits go to the ACEER foundation to help preserve the amazon rainforest and to help the people in the Peruvian region of the amazon rainforest.

This resonated with me, especially since I believe in the products and realize how important the amazon rainforest is. The amazon rainforest gives the planet 25% of the worlds oxygen, it literally is the lungs of our planet. Not only that but out of the 3% or so of the plants that have been researched about a third (33%) of the medical problems in America have a plant out of that 3% that has been researched that it has medicinal use for.

Think about that, do you think the oxygen and medicinal value of these plants is extremely valuable? I think so.

This resonated with me, as a health conscious and eco-friendly person it resonated at a much deeper level than a ‘that compensation plan is sexy’ type of level.

It resonated with my mind, my body, and my spirit.

I believe you have to truly resonate with something, believe in it fully and hustle to grow and expand.

Live your life, live your greatness, and find your resonance.

Until next time… Pura Vida!

Network marketing is an amazing industry with a lot of potential, anyone who is hungry can start with barely anything (say, 100 bucks a month) and a lot of drive, determination and hunger to succeed and they can become massively successful in a network marketing company of their choice.

The sad truth though is that most network marketers fail. Why is this? You could blame it on the lack of leadership, the lack of one’s ability to sell, or the lack of passion, hunger or desire to stay persistent long enough to make it work. There are people earning 10 bucks a month, and there are people earning $150,000 a month all in the same industry as ‘network marketers.’

I’m no network marketing guru, I haven’t made millions in network marketing (yet, I will though) and in fact… I would be a better person to ask online marketing, information marketing or affiliate marketing questions too… That’s all changing though since i’ve decided to dedicate more time and energy into becoming a successful network marketer. It’s a long story, but i’ve been in probably about 10 or more network marketing companies and have only had little success in each company i’ve been in… barely anything really.

But persistence pay’s off and in this most recent company i’m in i’ve had the most success i’ve had yet with last month being my best month in network marketing yet.

Over the years, and through the companies I have recognized a few patterns that separate the massively successful from those who are struggling to make enough commission to cover their autoship to take a product they wouldn’t necessarily buy otherwise.

The first differentiating factor is that those who are very successful in network marketing seem to always without a doubt have a much bigger network and they seem to take networking very seriously. They go to events, seminars, conferences and are ABN (Always be networking) as they constantly build their network.

The larger your network the better the chances someone resonates with what you are doing and decides to join you in the business you ar pursuing right? Yes! of course, at the same time if you get smart about how you network you can begin to network in areas where your network marketing products or services are more relevant. For example, if you sell health products it would make sense to network at health events and frequently network and meet more people in this area right?

Makes sense.

If you sell cell phone or internet services then maybe connecting to a tech/digital crowd may make more sense. If you sell candles maybe connecting with the etsy or work from home crafty type of mom. Whatever your market is looking for is important to keep in mind, if you just show up at those places it’s a natural fit.

So network, network your ass off. Network daily, network weekly, network monthly. I’ve spent so many hours networking both online and offline that I have enough people in my network that I actually want to scale back and focus on following up and helping my current network. There are plenty of ‘leads’ or people interested out there, it’s up to you and how much you network that determines how many are readily available to you at any given moment.

The second reason most people fail in network marketing is because they don’t market/advertise/sell their products. They rely solely on trying to get people into the business and this is an imbalanced and unreliable way to build a sustainable long-term business in my opinion.

Ask yourself, if this product/service were for sale without the business opportunity attached would I buy, sell or recommend this to my friends and family? If you wouldn’t buy or recommend it without the compensation plan then it’s time to move on to find something that resonates with you at a deeper level.

Having products or services that deliver a USP in the marketplace is great because you can create content, ads and an overall marketing plan to sell those products/services on a daily basis. If you recruit someone new into your business to sell that’s great, but if you can sell the products daily as well as recruit that’s even better because your business has a good balance and even if you didn’t get distributors selling under you it wouldn’t matter. You could still earn an income selling the products and getting lifetime commissions whenever those referrals reorder.

That’s how it started with me, I started selling the herbs that I recommend just because it was a natural fit with the holistic lifestyle and health approach for me in my life. I make good extra money just selling the products, and anyone can write articles, create videos, publish ebooks and share those in order to sell products.

So there are two takeaways, first… network more and share the value of something (a company and product) that truly resonates with you. If all you find yourself thinking about is the compensation plan and money then it probably won’t last long… If the company, products and services resonate with you and if you would buy them regardless of the compensation plan attached then that is truly something that is worth pursuing.

So Network, Network… NETWORK.

and #2 is make the Net-Work

Create content, articles, videos, advertisements, marketing materials, ebooks etc… Create content and information that works for you online selling these products/services 24/7/365.

IF you do these two things on a daily basis your success in your network marketing company will grow day by day and year by year.

Stay persistent, Stay Humble, Stay focused in your heart.

Pura Vida!
