22 October 2011 — The High Point Enterprise newspaper recently carried an article about the Abbots Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, which has a remarkable and beautiful collection of more than 30 historic tombstones, made from carved and pierced soapstone, from an early group of German settlers. ”The tombstones are found at only seven churches, and they’re all in Davidson County…. They’re found in no other state and nowhere else in the world, as far as we can tell.” High Point Enterprise newspaper article
