Get into the Christmas spirit and join us for some traditional carols, musical performances and merriment.

This year Waltham Forest are hosting three Christmas carol events at Chingford Assembly Hall, Leyton Coronation Gardens and the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow, Lloyd Park.

Come along and enjoy some festive snacks and hot drinks while you listen to live music from the fantastic locally based East London Brass band and sing along to your favourite Christmas carols including:

BBC ONE’s ever popular Sunday evening programme Antiques Roadshow will be filming for its 37th series at Waltham Forest Town Hall on Sunday 31 August 2014. The doors open at 9.30 am and close at 4.30pm. Entry to the show is free.

A recent commissioned panel of experts was asked to consult with residents and businesses in Waltham Forest, in order to determine what is it that makes our Borough such a distinctive place to live and work.

“One of the Commission’s recommendations was to create an identity for the borough to make Waltham Forest stand out in London. The identity should reflect the attributes of the borough which our residents have told us are green space, transport connections, art and culture, and a strong sense of community.

Waltham Forest has a lot to offer residents in terms of amenities and leisure facilities, so as well as promoting Waltham Forest to the rest of London and wider, we are also promoting the borough to our existing residents, to inform them of local facilities and encourage use of them, which in turn will help the borough’s economy”.

The result was a new web site, built by the Borough, to enable all residents to discover more about the place they live in.

The Leytonstone Big Weekender returns with a weekend packed full of arts, culture and live entertainment.

Saturday 6 September

Saturday features a day of fun activities and entertainment at Cathall Green including arts and crafts workshops.

Fun activities include a ridgeline climbing wall, garden games, bungee trampoline, a revolving wall, crazy golf and much more.

Sunday 7 September

The annual car-free day returns on Church Lane with a street party atmosphere, cycling themed activities and international food market.

Along with all the activities above there will be bouncy castles, ball pits, pedal karts and much more! Full of activities, demonstrations and musical performances, Sunday’s event is headlined by Geno Washington.

70 amazing events taking place across the Borough from 26th October, 2013. Don’t forget the This Is Me! exhibition at Walthamstow Library. An exhibition of artwork exploring the themes of identity and celebrating the diversity of Waltham Forest communities.

Look out for the Happy Hour events – creative workshops for parents and children, as well as the Rant & Rave events. Dressing up and becoming another character, let loose with percussion and poetry. Sounds great!

Finally in December there’s a whole range of Crafty Christmas Creations across the Borough. ‘Bring your own little elves down to a workshop to create cards and decorations ready for the arrival of Santa Claus’.
