Death Penalty Is Dying

The death penalty is dying, but it lingers in hospice. See an excerpt from an article by "Independent":

In 2015, only 28 people were executed here, the least in a quarter century (and one of them after a 36-year wait on death row). Moreover, all but four died in just three states: Texas, Georgia and Missouri.

Of the 50 US states, 34 haven’t executed anyone over the last five years, and soon South Carolina, another historical bastion of the death penalty, will join them.

Juries too are handing down far fewer death sentences, only 49 in 2015. Texas, long America’s chief executioner, was responsible for only two of them. For the first time in decades, the death row population has dropped below 3,000 – and only a relative handful of them will actually meet their end in the execution chamber.

Bipolar Execution Victim in Texas: Adam Ward

We are discussing capital punishment at my Facebook page. I am an anti-DP advocate and believe executions must end in the USA. This is particularly true for mentally ill Americans like Adam Ward, a 33-year-old bipolar man who Texas executed on Tuesday, March 22. The Huffington Post recently ran a story entitled "Bernie Sanders Speaks Out Against The Death Penalty After Hillary Clinton Stands By It." Senator Sanders said, "I believe it is time for the United States of America to join almost every other Western, industrialized country on Earth in saying NO to the death penalty."

When people enter controversial comments on my Facebook page and stalkers prevent their names from linking in my response, I feel that my response is censored. Sometimes I then enter said responses in an article in this "Justice Gagged" blog. I learned long ago that the hackers work for executioners, racists, and Nazis. The people, organizations, and topics I was writing to or about when I was most harshly censored may be surprising, including the NAACP, the national adult vaccination plan, Christianity, and Michelle Obama. Anti-dp language is always certain to be censored, which is why I usually run a separate digital camera when dealing with that subject online. My films will be made available to purchase for a nominal fee at CreateSpace. Americans should know which subjects are considered exempt from free speech protections by elitist Nazis.

Last Meals: The Phillip Workman Execution

Phillip Workman, number 4 on this list, was probably a wrongly ‪#‎executed‬ Tennessee man https://youtu.be/GgOkgZXKAHo >>Workman TRIED to rob a Wendy's but ran when police were called. He hid underneath a car and said he saw a ‪#‎police‬ officer shoot the policeman who was killed. Both of the officers were attempting to apprehend Workman. I was told by a former Shelby County Corrections Officer, Sgt. Early Story, that the murdered policeman was hated by his coworkers after he crossed a picket line and that he died within his first week back on the street after having been temporarily detailed to work inside the jail for his own safety. Workman's supporters for retrial included the victim's daughter, who felt that Workman was innocent after hearing recantations by witnesses who claimed they had been coerced to give false testimony against Workman.

The embedded video, which is also available at the YouTube link above, is called "12 Craziest Last Meal Requests," showing what condemned men ordered for their last supper. Workman ordered a pizza to be given to a homeless person, but his request was not honored. He refused a last meal.

Workman was convicted largely because Dr. O.C. Smith, the ‪#‎Memphis‬ Shelby County medical examiner at the time, claimed the bullet trajectory showed that ONLY WORKMAN could have shot the policeman. Dr. Smith apparently tried to retract his testimony immediately before Workman's execution by kidnapping himself and strapping dynamite to his person and wrapping barbed wire around his head. Dr. Smith secured notes to his person saying "The doctor lied about bullet trajectory in the Workman trial." Dr. Smith was also the medical examiner when Larry Neal was murdered under secret arrest in the Shelby County Jail in 2003. Neal was a lifelong mentally ill heart patient and my brother. I wrote about Workman's case in the Wrongful Death of Larry Neal website http://www.wrongfuldeathoflarryneal.com/story/story03.html >> Dr. Smith had a history of possibly lying to assist murderous police, according to the Workman case. The medical examiner's office failed to conduct any inquest or give any information about why and how Larry Neal, a mentally ill heart patient, was held for 18 days of SECRET ARREST and killed behind bars.

Dr. Smith was prosecuted by the feds for allegedly strapping DYNAMITE to his own person and staging a false kidnapping. The case ended in a hung jury and was not retried. This reportedly angered some U.S. Attorneys. The Memphis Flyer reported:

"After the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms decided Smith was a suspect rather than a victim, he was indicted on federal charges. Terry Harris, who was then the U.S. attorney in Memphis, recused himself because the office had a professional relationship with the medical examiner. U.S. Attorney Bud Cummins of Little Rock came to Memphis to prosecute Smith. The trial ended in 2005 in a hung jury. Smith, who did not testify, was not retried." (Read more

Memphis authorities usually get a free pass, possibly because that is where civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in a conspiracy. Larry Neal's kidnapping and murder in Memphis Shelby County Jail has been denied investigation and his family has been denied due process of law, including responses to Freedom of Information Act requests, for over 12 years. The death of this American with disabilities was denied exposure by censorship to protect killers and due to fraud by The Cochran Firm, the Neal family's wrongful death attorney. After Dr. Smith's antics, Workman won another hearing. Two ‪#‎Republican‬ judges came out of retirement to swing the vote against Workman in the hearing he was given after witnesses who recanted seemed to also include the State's star witness, the medical examiner. Workman was executed in 2007, and Dr. Smith is no longer the Shelby County medical examiner. I was told Dr. Smith then became an "expert witness" for America's corrupt courts. Fox News, Detroit Free Press, ABC News, National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, United Nations, Randy Short, Maya Schenwar, La Mesha Irizarry, Lorenzo Komboa Ervin,THE BODY COUNT: Police Murder in Memphis, Christopher Bonds, Katherine Conner, Janet Sol, People of Faith Against the Death Penalty (Fox News, I don't know why, but ‪#‎hackers‬ continuously remove the linking capability from your name on this Facebook post.)

More wrongfully convicted people were exonerated in 2015 than in other years, including people on death row. The only way to stop wrongful executions is to eliminate the death penalty.

Kudos, Nebraska: No More DP

Nebraska abolitionists are to be congratulated, as are all people who place high value on humane solutions to crime and who advocate an end to America's barbarism. Nebraska became America's first conservative state to end capital punishment. We appreciate Nebraska's legislature for doing that. The Atlantic was one of many media companies that published the victory. A brief excerpt from The Atlantic is below:

Nebraska on Wednesday [May 27, 2015] became the first conservative state in more than four decades to repeal the death penalty. Its legislature, officially non-partisan but dominated by Republicans, voted by the narrowest of possible margins to override a veto by Governor Pete Ricketts, and enact a law scrapping a punishment that the state has struggled to carry out.

Lawsuits mean significantly more to killers than candlelight vigils do. JUSTICE JOHN PAUL STEVENS SPEAKS AGAINST DEATH PENALTY ~ In a discussion at the George Washington University School of Law, retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens said the death penalty creates a higher risk of error than other criminal cases and is unfair, unnecessary, and a "terrible waste" of resources. Using the Boston marathon bomber trial as an example, Justice Stevens said jury selection procedures in capital cases produce juries who are "not representative of the community." He said that, under these procedures, "most of the 75%" of Bostonians who opposed the death penalty "could be challenged for cause and do not make it" onto the jury.

EXECUTING THE MENTALLY ILL

LONG BEFORE HE COMMITTED a vicious triple murder in Houston at the age of 19, Derrick Charles had shown signs of serious mental problems. Raised amid crippling poverty, domestic abuse, alcoholism and neglect, he watched his schizophrenic mother stab his abusive stepfather. He suffered from tactile and auditory hallucinations, and by the time he was 13, had been hospitalized twice for mental illness. While in juvenile prison for nonviolent offenses, he said he was hearing voices and asked for medication. The request was denied.

Nebraska May Repeal DP

Dear Mary,

Nebraska just moved one step closer to repealing the death penalty. Yesterday we asked for your help in contacting legislators in Nebraska to ask them to vote "YES" to LB 268 which would repeal the state's death penalty. I'm happy to report that you put the pressure on, and the Nebraska policymakers listened. They voted 32-15 to end the death penalty in Nebraska. We thank you!

We're not done yet though. Governor Pete Ricketts has vowed that he will veto this bill. We need all 32 legislators who voted to repeal the death penalty to hold their votes in order to override a governor veto.

Thank you for being part of the success. Thanks to your help, Nebraska could be the 19th state to abolish the death penalty.

Death Warrant for Warren Hill, Mentally Ill on GA Death Row

Warren Hill was originally sentenced to life imprisonment for shooting his girlfriend, Myra Wright, in 1986. He was subsequently sentenced to death for killing his cellmate, Joseph Handspike.

Georgia is preparing to EXECUTE the mentally ill man who "somehow" got a board of wood with long nails driven through it and beat his cellmate to death while he slept. Did the prison know how dangerous Hill was? Absolutely. He was already imprisoned for murder. And how on earth did Hill get a board and nails to make a Midieval club like the one pictured below? Hill's murder by the State on January 27, 2015, and his victim's murder, will be included in our "AIMI vs. USA" legal action before the International Court in 2015.

If inmates can be endangered and killed by locking them in cells with murderous mentally ill people, which has happened in Georgia correctional facilities more than once, then every prisoner is at risk. Correctional officers and prison administrators who apply this lack of care are intended to escape accountability by executing the mentally ill inmates who kill their cellmates. The inmates who kill will bare the blame, not the prison which should be a "controlled environment."

"AIMI vs. USA" will take the USA before the International Court for dereliction of its duty to protect the rights of institutionalized persons, such as Hill and his victim, Handspike. Hill should have had no opportunity to ascertain a board and nails, and his victim should not have been in the cell with a homicidal mentally ill man like Hill.

Read about The Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act (CRIPA) of 1980, a United States federal law intended to protect the rights of people in state or local correctional facilities, nursing homes, mental health facilities and institutions for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (Wikipedia). The U.S. Justice Department totally ignores its responsibility to uphold that Act; an "act" is all it is (see the links to information about CRIPA below).

As Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King said over 50 years ago, "All we say to America is, 'Be true to what you said on paper.'" That is still a huge problem, and no group of people anywhere on planet earth is as oppressed as Americans with mental disabilities in custody. They are regularly tortured and killed without any accountability being demanded. Some are tortured for sport and killed in grotesque Medieval ways, including death by scalding, death by roasting, death by hanging, and forcing mentally ill inmates to entertain correctional officers by engaging in gladiator fights (to the finish, in some cases).

It is likely that Hill's mental illness was untreated before he killed Myra Wright, his first victim. Neglect likely caused both murders.

Rodney Reed, Innocent Death Row Inmate in TX

Georgetown, Texas – Rodney Reed is sitting on death row in Texas for a 1996 murder that he probably did not commit, and if nothing is done to stop the execution, he be killed on March 5, 2015.

FreeThoughtProject reports that even the family of the victim is now coming forward in Reed's defense, saying instead that Stacey Stites' fiance, a former cop, was likely responsible for the murder. The 19-year-old victim was engaged to Officer Jimmy Fennell when she was murdered in 1996. During that time, Fennell was under various disciplinary investigations at the department, because he was stalking and harassing women while on the job. Over the years, mountains of evidence surfaced implicating Fennell as the person who killed Stacy. Fennell is presently in prison, having been convicted of rape in 2007.

Reed is innocent until proved guilty. For some reason, the system wants to kill him without definitive proof. We applaud the Campaign to End the Death Penalty for launching the petition for Reed, which presently has over 14,000 signatures. Stacy Stites and her survivors deserve to have the right person prosecuted and sentenced, not a convenient black man who might be innocent.

Racism lives in the USA's corrupt justice system. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals hears cases out of Texas. That court was made famous by Judge Edith Jones, who was subjected to a judicial review after numerous groups filed an ethics complaint for her reportedly racist comments. Jones reportedly believes that denying condemned people a stay of execution forces them to repent and "save their souls."

RH Reality Check reports: Some of those comments included claims that certain “racial groups like African-Americans and Hispanics are predisposed to crime” and are “prone to commit acts of violence” including more violent and “heinous” crimes and that Mexicans would prefer to be on death row in the United States than serving prison terms in their native country, according to the complaint [filed by numerous human and civil rights groups]. Jones allegedly accused defendants who raise claims of “mental retardation” of abusing the system. Jones called claims that the death penalty is racist or arbitrary a “red herring.”

ACLU sues Pennsylvania for information about lethal injection cocktail
SEPT. 11, 2014
The Pennsylvania chapter of the ACLU, The Guardian, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and the Philadelphia City Papers are asking state courts to unseal documents that would reveal how, and from whom, the state obtained the drugs it plans to use to execute Hubert Michael, Jr. on September 22.

Hubert L. Michael Jr. pled guilty in October 1994 to kidnapping and first-degree murder for the death of 16-year-old Trista Eng. On July 12, 1993, Eng was walking along Route 15 from her home to her summer job at a restaurant in Dillsburg, York County. Michael stopped and offered the girl a ride to work, which she accepted. Michael drove to state game lands in Warrington Township, York County, where he shot Eng three times with a handgun and then hid her body in the woods.

Michael's execution will not restore Eng's life. Neither is execution necessary to save society from the murderer. Life without parole would accomplish that. Therefore, Michael's execution could only be a revenge killing. If the capital punishment is carried out, then Michael may be subjected to a lengthy, torturous execution using mystery drugs like other condemned people were this year. A state's refusal to release information about execution drugs should necessitate an automatic moratorium.

The last execution in Pennsylvania occurred in July 1999, when Philadelphia torture killer Gary Heidnik was put to death after surrendering his appeals. DP with Mystery Drugs Resumes

Dear Friends,

It happened again. Last night, the state of Missouri put to death Earl Ringo, Jr., despite concerns about the role that race played in determining his death sentence and despite an outpouring of pleas to Missouri Governor Jay Nixon from people of faith, civil rights leaders and activists to halt the execution. This execution, like so many others, took place under a cloud of secrecy with Department of Corrections officials dissembling about when and whether they were using or would use Midazolam, the drug that has been at the center of controversy in the recent spate of botched and horrific executions.

I learned for the first time last Wednesday that DOC officials in Missouri administer Midazolam to prisoners before the execution actually “begins.” They claim that this procedure is consistent with the practice of offering the condemned prisoner a sedative to calm nerves before the execution.

But lawyers for Earl Ringo point out that Midazolam is not the drug normally prescribed as a sedative for nerves and the amount administered prior to the start of an execution is far more than the dosage that would be consistent with a simple ‘calming effect.’

It’s sophistry at best and government at its worst.

We are disappointed that Governor Nixon did not take full responsibility for ensuring that the death penalty system in Missouri operates in a manner that is free of racial bias and discrimination, and that Earl Ringo’s death sentence in particular was not the product of racial bias.

But here is what we are proud of: We are proud of and grateful for the legal team that was courageous, resourceful and compassionate in their efforts to save Mr. Ringo’s life.

We are proud of Missourians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty and our allies in the NAACP, ACLU of Missouri, the Catholic Conference and others, and hundreds of volunteers who wrote letters, called, worked and prayed, and organized vigils to make their concerns known to Governor Nixon.

We are proud of the national coalition of organizations and leaders that came together to send a joint statement to Governor Nixon urging him to be reasonable and not go forward with this execution, given so many unanswered questions concerning the racial bias in his case.

We joined with the NAACP, the National Action Network, the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice, The Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Racial Justice, Hip Hop Caucus, Dr. Virgil Wood, and Reverend McBride, Director of Urban Strategies, Live Free Campaign, PICO National Network.

Unfortunately, Governor Nixon did not heed our request. We do believe in accountability.

Please contact Governor Nixon to express your deep disappointment with his failure to stop Earl Ringo’s execution. Ask him to halt all executions from now on.

Executions Down, Police Violence Up

1. Anti-death penalty advocates were elated to learn that capital punishment has been eliminated or placed on hold in 36 states in the USA partly because of torturous executions in 2014 using mystery drugs. Furthermore, NPR reported on July 16, "A federal judge has ruled that California's use of the death penalty is dysfunctional and violates the constitutional prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment. U.S. District Judge Cormac Carney's ruling came in response to an appeal by Ernest Dewayne Jones, who was sentenced to death in Los Angeles in 1995 for the rape and killing of his girlfriend's mother three years earlier."

2. While executions have decreased, police killings have increased to the point that no reduction in democide actually happened. Within one month, from mid-July until mid-August, the police body count is four killings for California and one each for Utah, Missouri, Ohio, and New York. Another beer summit might be in order to withdraw military equipment from non-military government agencies, including police departments (Ref. #1, at paragraph 10).

3. The world is increasingly alarmed at how little freedom and justice people in America actually have. Even journalists were arrested in Ferguson, Ohio during protests over Michael Brown's shooting death by Officer Darren Wilson. Some journalists were told to turn off their cameras then attacked with rubber bullets and tear gas when they refused to comply with police orders that violated their freedom of press rights. There have been injuries among Ferguson's protesters - one that was critical - but no more deaths at the time of this writing (Ref. #2, at paragraph 10). This is #ourGaza

California police fatally shot two mentally challenged people in August, including a 19-year-old woman in crisis and Ezell Ford, 25, an unarmed black man who witnesses say committed no crime and was completely compliant with police. California police also beat a Latino young man named Omar Abrego to death. Utah police fatally shot a 20-year-old unarmed Caucasian, Dillon Taylor. See their stories at the four(4) links below.

Court documents show a $25,000 arrest warrant had been issued Aug. 7 for Taylor, alleging that he had violated his probation on earlier felony robbery and obstructing justice charges.

6. Many people wonder what the point of agreement was at the WH Beer Summit of 2009. The outcome did not bode well for African Americans and other minorities or disabled people of any race or age. Little information has been released at this writing about the teenager police killed in San Jose, but five of the men in the body count were unarmed blacks, one was Latino, and one was Caucasian. 7. The USA is a member state of the United Nations and has signed certain treaties to uphold human rights within this nation. Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill (AIMI) plans to bundle 100 cases evidencing overuse of force against mentally ill people during arrests, within correctional facilities, or by hospital personnel for presentation to the World Court. Evidence presented is expected to include long-term solitary confinement torture, brutality by law enforcement, corrections officers, other inmates or inpatients, wrongful deaths, and medical neglect. 8. To have your case considered for inclusion in the 100 that will be presented to the U.N., please use the contact information below. AIMI plans to request restitution for victims or their successors as well as sanctions against the USA regarding its disregard for human rights of persons with mental illness. The 100 Complainants may also include victims of aggression by untreated mentally ill people or the victims' successors.

9. The USA's disregard for mentally ill persons is evidenced by the fact that 1.25 million mentally dysfunctional people are imprisoned (over half of the nation's inmates). They comprise over 60 percent of prisoners in long-term solitary confinement torture, some for decades. More than 50 percent of the nation's victims of police violence are mentally ill, although no exact numbers are kept (which also evidences disregard). Additionally, tens of thousands of mentally handicapped people are homeless and/or denied psychiatric treatment unless and until they prove, usually through crimes, that they are immediately dangerous to self and others. This is likely done to preserve untreated mentally challenged Americans for use as private prison commodities, including some veterans.

Thanks to justice officials, law enforcement administrators and officers who attempt to bring justice and restore peace to affected communities without further violations against citizens' constitutional and human rights.

This seemed to me like an educated person trying to hide his educational status. Anyone who can spell "hypothetical" can presumably spell "you're" and "amount," etc.

They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie, and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. ~2Thes.2:10-12.

I believe the "powerful delusion" is the idea that oppression and premeditated murder will always target "the other guy." The general populace refused to embrace the truth: Any system is dangerous for us all if it (1) refuses new trials with substantial new evidence, (2) refuses DNA tests to prove innocence, and (3) is cold enough to drag even guilty human beings down a corridor to an execution chamber and commit murder on their persons.

Pray that you be counted worthy to escape the evil days ahead. May God bless each and every one of you with the assurance of His love and acceptance of your sincere plea for forgiveness of sin. May you seek and find His mercy, and He will welcome you into the kingdom of heaven where we have eternal life. Blessings.

Paul Hildwin Gets New Trial in FL

Florida Supreme Court overturned Paul Hildwin's death sentence in the 1985 Hernando murder.

Prosecutors in Paul Hildwin's original trial relied heavily on now-outdated scientific evidence that claimed to show semen and sweat found at the crime scene likely came from Hildwin, the court's ruling said. Modern DNA testing not only disproved this, but demonstrated the samples belonged to William Haverty, the boyfriend of the victim, 42-year-old Vronzettie Cox.

"We cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that a significant pillar of the State's case, as presented to the jury, has collapsed and that this same evidence actually supports the defense," the court said in a 5-2 majority ruling.

"We vacate Hildwin's conviction for first-degree murder, vacate his death sentence, and remand for a new trial."

Marcus Ellons' Georgia Execution - First Since Lockett in OK

Incredible news: This week the U.S. Supreme Court dealt another blow to the death penalty in the United States with a landmark decision on capital punishment and intellectual disabilities.

In a 5-4 ruling, the Supreme Court decided that a Florida death penalty statute, which had been interpreted to permit some people with intellectual disabilities to be executed, violates “our Nation’s commitment to dignity and its duty to teach human decency as the mark of a civilized world.”

“The Eighth Amendment’s protection of dignity reflects the Nation we have been, the Nation we are, and the Nation we aspire to be,” said Justice Kennedy. In their decision this week, the Court reaffirmed its ruling in Atkins v. Virginia, which held that the eighth amendment prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment prohibited people with intellectual disabilities from being punished with death.

This is a powerful step towards ending capital punishment, during a critical moment for abolition. Death penalty states have attempted to continue their lethal injection experimentation on inmates, including inmates with harrowing medical issues, to no avail.

OK Plans Double Lynching April 29; Botched Execution

Update: *Condemned black man tortured with mystery drugs in Oklahoma's death chamber.* Second execution that was planned for April 29 was postponed. "Lockett was writhing on the gurney and shaking uncontrollably . . . Robert Patton, the director of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, halted Lockett's execution about 20 minutes after the first drug was administered." Lockett died later of heart failure.

Rather than stopping after 20 minutes, according to an AP reporter in a story by NPR, it was stopped after 34 minutes.

"According to the AP reporter on the scene, about 34 minutes after the execution was scheduled to begin, Lockett was still conscious.

"He was lifting [his] head at [7:39 p.m. ET.] and he was still alive and DOC closed [the] curtain and stopped it," Cary Aspinwall tweets.

At 8:06 p.m. ET., more than an hour after the execution was scheduled to begin, Lockett died of a massive heart attack.

Message from National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty

Tomorrow (April 29, 2014), the state of Oklahoma is set to carry out the first double execution in nearly 80 years. Charles Warner and Clayton Lockett are scheduled to be executed despite an extended legal and political tussle around the constitutionality of the state’s lethal injection procedure that still has not been adequately resolved.

If this news leaves you feeling as outraged as I feel, I encourage you to make your voice heard and share why you believe the death penalty is wrong. Only by speaking out will we be able to demonstrate the size and diversity of the community of people who believe the death penalty is wrong.

This case has changed rapidly over the past week, so in case you’re behind, here’s a quick refresher on how things have unfolded in Oklahoma:

~Oklahoma Courts originally issued stays of execution for the condemned prisoners, overriding the State’s position that it could keep the drugs and their source a secret from the prisoners and the public.
~Lawmakers in Oklahoma responded by seeking to impeach five members of the State Supreme Court.
~Governor Fallin issued an Executive Order to override the Supreme Court ruling.
Fallin’s actions became moot when the Court reversed itself and lifted the stay.
~The effort to impeach the Oklahoma Justices continues.

What we see here is an attachment to the death penalty that has moved to the extreme. Basic principles of good government including government transparency and public accountability, let alone the Constitution, have been trampled underfoot.

Ironically, these desperate and disturbing attempts to maintain the death penalty in Oklahoma may well be its undoing.

As more people confront the ugly reality of this practice, more will be moved to stand up and get involved. 90 million Americans believe that the death penalty is wrong, unfair and must end. They’re energized, they’re engaged, and they’re ready to put an end to the death penalty, sooner rather than later.

Executive produced by Alex Gibney and Robert Redford and narrated by Susan Sarandon, these stories call into question various beliefs surrounding America's justice system and the death penalty.

Director Alex Gibney said, “The series provides stark examples of the struggle between the powerful and the powerless. The stakes – life or death – couldn’t be higher.”

Truth Emerges re Willingham Execution

WRONGFUL EXECUTION -- Cameron Todd Willingham was an innocent man who Texas executed on February 17, 2004. The Innocence Project recently uncovered evidence that Webb, the state's witness against Willingham, was promised a reduced sentence to implicate Willingham. Willingham was convicted for arson deaths of his three children by (1) faulty science and (2) Webb's testimony. Saying "DEATH to the DEATH PENALTY" is the only way to guarantee that innocent people are never executed.

Webb recanted prior to Willingham’s execution, stating that he had been forced by John Jackson, the then-district attorney, to provide false testimony in exchange for favorable treatment in the form of a reduced robbery charge in his own criminal case. Willingham’s lawyer was never told of Webb’s recantation. Willingham was murdered by Texas, and John Jackson became a judge. He has now retired.

NY Times reported that Willingham's cousin Patricia Cox said that if an exoneration does occur, the family has no plans to press for damages. “We’re not asking compensation,” she said. “We’re asking justice.”

I just posted in my Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill (AIMI) group at Facebook, but it appears that NSA doesn't like for us to talk about executing mentally ill people. The government does not mind doing it, but after the deed is done, no more is to be said about such executions. I always have the hardest time keeping Brandon Rhode's picture posted - a mentally challenged young man murdered by the State of Georgia with execution drugs purchased out of the back of a London bicycle shop. I copied this from my activity log to show that I did indeed post information and a picture of Brandon Rhode. Look at the Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill group at Facebook and see if you see it there. It should be on top as of January 20, 2014 - MLK Day.

This is precisely why we are going to Occupy Silicon Valley April 4. Internet censorship is equal to Nazi book burning.

In 2010, Georgia executed Brandon Joseph Rhode, a 31-year-old mentally challenged man who committed a murder as a teen. His mother was an alcoholic, and Brandon was born brain damaged. None of this mattered to Georgia. Wikipedia reports, "Fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) is a pattern of mental and physical defects that can develop in a fetus in association with high levels of alcohol consumption during pregnancy. Alcohol crosses the placental barrier and can stunt fetal growth or weight, create distinctive facial stigmata, damage neurons and brain structures, which can result in psychological or behavioral problems, and cause other physical damage."

Timothy Johnson: Innocent Man Released from GA Death Row After 29 Years

Timothy Johnson has been released after having spent 29 years on Georgia's death row. Death Penalty Information Center carried the following information about Johnson:

Timothy Johnson was acquitted of murder charges and released from prison in Georgia on December 5, twenty-nine years after being charged with a murder and robbery at a convenience store. Johnson had originally pled guilty to the crimes in exchange for the prosecution's agreement not to seek the death penalty. The Georgia Supreme Court overturned his conviction in 2006 because he was not properly informed of his constitutional protection against self-incrimination and his right to confront witnesses against him. The jury deliberated for only about an hour before rendering the acquittal. His family greeted him upon his release. “My heart is overwhelmed for him,” said his uncle, Willie Wilson. “I’m just elated.”

The case illustrates the danger of using the death penalty as a plea-bargaining incentive. Defendants sometimes plead guilty to a crime they did not commit in order to avoid the possibility of a death sentence.

Democide: Government Murders

DEMOCIDE is an opportunity for the government to show its mastery over the general populace, not unlike slave owners used to do. Slave masters called all the plantation slaves together to see a lynching happen. That way, slaves, who greatly outnumbered the slave owner and his supervisors, were terrorized and kept "in their places." So it is with the death penalty today. The slave owners feared the slaves' superior numbers, just as oppressive elitists fear the poor and working classes today.

The reason why prosecutors object to prisoners taking DNA tests or having new trials with substantial new evidence (that arrived after conviction) is because innocence does not really matter to them. Periodic executions like Willie Lynch suggested in the 1700s are for keeping slaves subdued. Through capital punishment, America's "lower classes" are treated like slaves, including everyone who works for a living and citizens who have a fixed income, i.e., people who cannot live off their dividends and inheritances. If murder was really offensive to masters over the criminal justice system, I would not be censored and stalked for asking why and how my mentally disabled brother was murdered after 18 days of secret arrest (kidnapping) in Memphis Shelby County Jail in 2003.

Capital punishment is not a deterrent to crimes, and neither is it uniformly applied for similar crimes. It was never meant to be. DP is merely an act of terrorism used to keep hundreds of millions of people respectful to government power. That is why capital punishment is limited to poor and working class persons and has a significantly higher rate of incidence among non-whites. Those are the people most oppressed and therefore most feared by oppressors - elitist white supremacists who benefit by keeping millions of people subservient.

Prosecution for murder and most other crimes in America depends on who the victims and defendants are in terms of wealth and class, skin hue, and how close the next election is. While inmates are tortured on death row, counting off their days until their own murders, police officers (government representatives) earn vacations by killing unarmed Americans - especially the mentally ill, who comprise over fifty percent of all police violence victims. Soldiers are awarded medals for killing people who pose no threat to this country. During the average convicted killer's term on death row in the United States, the government kills tens of thousands of people in wars and police violence. Democide is also murder. DEATH TO THE DEATH PENALTY.

Democide is used to demonstrate government mastery and prevent slave rebellions like those pictured.

This writer wrote another article with "democide" in its title. Please read it and tell me what you think. Do you agree that before America bombs another country for "killing its own citizens" we should have an accurate count of all the U.S. citizens killed by police? Nobody keeps track of that, and it would be useful information.
