太平夜間野生動物園 Night Safari @ Taiping

夜間野生動物園是一个我向往的地方，一直没机会去。听讲新加坡的不错，既然自家也有了，当然的去支持支持啊！我们傍晚7点半就到场排队买票（这个时间能把车子停在最靠近动物园的A区停车场，收费两元）

至于行程如何嘛，坐着小火车大概20-25分钟，感觉灯光上应该可以在调好一些，小火车可以开慢一些吧？呵呵呵，基本上是动物看我们多过我们看动物，动物园蛮大的，蛮有看头，小朋友基本上还是蛮兴奋的。没去过的可以去看看，就捧捧场咯，不过不要抱太大的期望，毕竟有待进步。

I always wanted to go Night Safari but don't have chance (not willing to travel to S'pore just for this :P) Since M'sia also got one and since I am already here, why not give some support and have a look eh?? We arrived at Zoo around 7.30pm (at this time we still manage to park the car at the nearest carpark zone A), start the Q and wait for the counter to open for tickets...

How was the trip? Hehe, if the little train can drive a bit slower, and the lighting can tune a bit better, I think would be better (but still this is my first experience with Night Safari so can't compare at all, solely personal opinion). Mostly animals 'see' us instead we 'see' them, hehee, but generally the Zoo is pretty huge and quite well maintain. Kids were still excited.

I would say, if you so happens to be there, can give some support and figure it out, but don't put too high expectation coz there is still room to improve :)

太平山 Maxwell Hill

老妈说这里也叫Kopi山，就在太平湖附近。和老妈来当然不能徒步而上，还以为可以驾车上，原来是不能的。。。呵呵。。。要买票，有四轮驱动的车载你上去。我们中午两点到已经买不到票了，就只能看看而已。售票出说早上7点半就开始卖票，8点就开始第一趟车咯！

Mama said here also called Kopi Hill woh, but donno why la :P It's just nearby the Taiping Lake Garden. I thought can drive up the hill but actually cannot *sweat* So gotto buy ticket, there is a four wheel drive you up there! We arrived about 2pm that day and tickets were sold out.

Ticketing officer said ticket start selling @ 7.30am, first trip is 8am. So, mark it down if you wanna take a ride up there next time! Of course, you can choose to hike if you wish :D

太平火车站 Taiping Railway Station

太平火车站在1885年竣工，于1980年代停用。个人对火车站（尤其是古老的）有种特别的钟爱，大概是小时候常在停用的火车站耍了吧。。。

在这古老的火车站被‘现代化’前，有幸来看看，是幸福的。。。可惜铁路已经被围起来了 :(

Taiping Railway Station was completed in year 1885 and the rail line was dismantled in 1980s. Personally I have a special feelings towards railway station (especially the old one), probably because I used to walk/play at the old railway stations when I was young? Hnm... so miss it!

Kind of lucky that I still manage to visit this railway station before it is being modernized, but bit pity as the railway already been blocked... :(

即将被毁灭的百年古迹啊！ A heritage that is going to be destroyed...

这我可是第一次近距离看到哦！First time saw this in near distance.

真希望奇迹会出现，让这充满回忆的旧式火车站保留原貌。。。

Hopefully there is miracle that allow this old railway station to maintain its appearance...

太平湖 Taiping Lake Garden

趁着新年长假和老妈回太平来个两天一夜。太平湖当然是不容错过的咯。自1880年开始这里就成为了公共公园，地宽64公頃，有大概十个大小不一的人工湖/池。有机会来这里一定要走走太平湖，景色绝不输给国外的公园哦。而且这里草地的绿让我想起纽西兰！

Mama & I went back Taiping during this CNY long holiday for a 2D1N stay. Of course we couldn't miss the famous Taiping Lake Garden!

It become a public garden since 1880, the 64 hectares site has about 10 man-made lake/ponds. The scenery is magnificient and can even beat the overseas garden. The green green grass even reminds me of New Zealand! So yes, if you so happens to be in Taiping, do stroll along the garden!

新年饼之蜜蜂窝 Bee's Home~CNY Cookies

嘿嘿，今年开始打算开个角落给妈妈的食谱，记录记录下，不然很多好吃的咚咚会失传啦！就由新年食谱开始吧！

Hehe, planning starting this year to open a 'mama corner' to record down all her recipe, else a lot of nice dishes will 'gone with the wind'! So, lets start with this Bee's Home!

材料：
1）椰浆 3包
2）鸡蛋 16粒
3）粘米粉 2 1/2 包
4）面粉半包
5）粟米粉 1包
6）幼糖 1包再加少许（视个人对甜的喜好而定）

必备用具：
蜂窝模具

做法：
1）把鸡蛋和糖一起放入容器搅拌均匀（鸡蛋不必打至起泡泡，主要是让糖融化）
2）然后加入椰浆，再慢慢加入粘米粉、面粉、粟米粉搅拌均匀--》这就是传说中的“开粉” （我是一次过把所有粉都倒进椰浆蛋液里再慢慢开匀，再用筛过滤一、两次即可）。
注：面糊的浓稠度视个人喜好而定，浓的话成品会比较有嚼劲，也比较快弄完，哈哈哈。
3）放入模，大火把锅和油烧热（蜂窝模具的手柄热了大概就可以开始咯）
4）把蜜蜂窝模浸入面糊，平行至模的顶部水平但不可盖过顶部（千万不要整个模具浸入面糊里，不然就完蛋了，因为成品会甩不出。。。），放入油中，几秒中之后把蜜蜂窝稍微用力甩出（如果浸过龙就甩不出了！），中火炸至金黄色即可。

Materials:
1) Coconut milk 3 packs
2) Eggs x 16
3) Blended rice flour 2 ½ packs
4) Wheat Flour ½ packs (or less than that also can)
5) Corn Starch 1 pack
6) Caster Sugar 1 pack plus (depends on whether you like sweet or not, if like can just add on the sugar volume to your own preferences)

A Must Tool:
Bee Home’s Mold

Method:
1) Blend the caster sugar with the eggs (don’t need to blend too harsh, purpose of this is to make the sugar melt…)
2) Add in the coconut milk into the blended eggs, then slowly add in all the powders and blend it evenly (I just dump in all and blend it slowly, then use the sieve to filter it 1-2 times to make sure the paste is ‘smooth’…)
Note: the thickness of the paste depends on personal preferences also. Thick means more chewy and of course can finish the work faster :P
3) Put in the mould & heat up together with the oil (once you felt the heat on the mould handle, means its ready…)
4) Soak the mould into the paste parallel to the top of the mould (don’t soak in the whole mould in else you can’t ‘swing’ out the ‘bees home’…). Put back the mould with paste into the oil, after few seconds you can ‘swing’ it out and repeat the same steps (if over soak then u will have problem here…). Fried till mild golden colour will do!

记得面糊不得浸过模的顶部，不然就做不成啦
Saw the mould? Make sure after soak into the paste u still able to see the top portion of mould clearly... else, means u gotto clean it and do it all over again before u can have a good bee's home :P

成品！Ta Da! Here comes the bees home! Yum Yum!

后记：哎哟，写食谱还真不容易。。。写英文的更难，都不知道什么是什么。。。真的是见鬼。。。尽人事啦，不然英文部分得删减，哈哈哈。。。
Postscript: Aiseh, really not easy writing recipe leh especially the english portion! Donno what is what, hahaha... hope didn't create much confusion here, hehee...else next time gotto 'sacrifice' the english portion liao :P

我从来都不喜欢看战争片，尤其是以中国南京为时代背景的。但不知道为什么，就是想看这部戏。个人觉得片子拍的不错，没有故意特大写的去突出日本人的可恨（不过依然煽情），反倒让人深深的记着那一枪一个的兵哥和那十二钗幽幽的嗓子。。。

如果你觉得自己很惨，去看看这部电影吧，你可能会觉得自己的‘惨’是那么的微不足道。可能中学时念中国历史比较多，也曾经到过侵华日军南京大屠杀遇难同胞纪念馆吧，个人的感受是比较深的。
I never like war movie, especially those take Nanjing as storyline background type. But just donno why I choose to and wanted to watch this movie, eventho I already know it has something to do with Nanjing & those japanese.

Personally I thought this is a good movie, at least it didnt really magnified how sucking & hateful & brutal were those japanese (yet still cruel and sad), and people will remember the ladies and the great soldier...

If you think you are miserable, go try and watch this movie, probably it will make you felt that your 'miserable' is nothing compared to those suffered during the war. Maybe it is just me who had this slightly stronger feeling towards the Nanjing slaughtery (coz last time secondary school studied quite a lot of china history + I went to the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invader), but yet, history shouldn't be forget, and is always a good mirror to remind us what had happen and what should have avoid in future....

2011 considering a drama year for me. Thanks to the betrayer who tought me a valuable lessons that made me a smarter person (like), but I'm even more greatful to my real dear friends who always be with me as and when needed. This year, I witness the golden sentence that 'friendship must be able to stand the test of time' & 'Time will tell'... 你敢不敢开门？ Do You Dare To Open The Door?

"Aunty Aunty 开门！开门！救救我！救我！"一个半赤裸的中国籍女子惊慌的拍打着我堂姐的邻居的门，惊动了整个六楼的住客。

老妇不敢开门。老妇的儿子不敢报警，怕坏人趁他不在时骚扰老妇。

中国籍女子被捉回同楼的单位内。

次日，中国籍女子再次逃跑，在另一个住着夫妇的单位窗外求救。

夫妇依然不敢搭救，但这次，他们报警了。

可是，中国籍女子也跳楼了。

因为，警察竟然把这可怜的女子硬生生的送回那男人那里，把这起案件当做"一般的家庭纠纷处理"，妄顾女子惊恐的反应，妄顾这明眼人都知道是逼良为昌的烂勾当。

听说男人当晚被释放，连夜搬走。

一个被骗到南洋淘金实际卖淫的悲剧竟然活生生在眼前上演，一个本来不应该再在二十世纪发生的悲剧，也似乎开始在马来西亚活跃起来。

老妈知道女子下场之后心情久久不能平复（之前只知道女子求救，但不知道还有下文），她说，最低限度她会报警。而我，则在想，如果这女子拍的是我家的们，我又敢不敢开门呢？

我想，如果我开门的话，接下来的日子我应该不敢回家，或不敢出门吧？这一刻，我觉得自己很可悲。而现在我可以做的，就只能希望这女子早登极乐，更希望我永远没有机会遇上这个"开不开门" 的恐怖的抉择。。。

"Aunty Aunty open the door! Help me, help me please!" a half naked Chinese lady knocked at my cousin's neighbor's door, screamed for help in horror, alerting the whole 6th floor's residents.

The old Aunty don't dare to open the door, neither do the son dare to call the police, afraid that the "bad guy" will disturb his mum while he was away.

The Chinese lady was being dragged back the unit.

Next day, she tried escape again and ended up outside another unit's window that own by a couple.

Don't dare to let her in as well. But this time, they reported police.

But also, the Chinese lady choose to jump off from 6th floor, to end her nightmare.

Because, the police choose to hand her back to the man she was trying to escape from, ignoring her fear & horror reactions, shivering & trembling when she saw the man, ignoring that this is pretty obvious another case of human trafficking.

The man was being released the same day, and shifted out the same night.

A tragic that seems doesn't belong's to this 20th century is once again active & alive back in Malaysia. It took me some time to accept this.

Mummy felt bad when she heard the 2nd part of the story (as we only know she cried for help but we didn't know the next day she committed suicide), and I was wondering - do I dare to open the door IF the Chinese lady was knocking on my door??

Seriously I don't know. And if I were to open the door, I guess the following days I would either hide inside the house, or don't dare to go back.

At this particular moment, I felt very pathetic for myself, and I wish this lady move on to her next life without bumping into all this horrible persons anymore.

And I pray I will never come across this horrible situation where I have to decide wether I shall open the door or not...

Push in the Boots & Real Steel

趁着假期带两个外甥女去尝试电影马拉松顺便逛逛，呵呵。。。终于终于给我看到我期待已久的Real Steel 了。。。

Since its school holiday AND replacement public holiday... I took this opportunity to bring 2 of my nieces to experience the movie marathon and jalan jalan a bit... hehhe, thanks to them I finally manage to watch the long waited Real Steel!

我的外甥女的‘招牌’餐，从不例外，因为只有我会任她吃M记咯
'Default' meal for my niece...makan till the mother thought I don't wanna bring them makan something else.. adui...

先从两部电影开始，我们选了两套超棒的电影哦！
Started with 2 for the marathon, and ended our choices were awesome!

看她们。。。爽到。。。
Si beh happy look....

打头阵的是这只穿靴的猫。没有冷场而且融入了童话魔术豆的故事。。。一个我几乎忘了的童话故事，好怀念哦！
First show was this cat in the boots...Aiseh surprisingly it was damn nice and it blended in the magic bean's story which I almost forgot! Hehe... worth the ticket :)

这部超攒！2011 年度必看之一的电影！（个人认为啦）刺激的来又不失轻松温馨的场面，可以搭未班车在戏院看到这部戏简直是我的福气啊！
And this is awesome! Awesome awesome awesome! Thank God I still manage to catch this movie in Cinema! It was fun, excited and touching! One of the must watch movie of 2011! (personal opinion...hehehe)

这两部电影都是梦工场的制作，质素如何大家心中应该有个谱咯 ^_^
Last but not least, both of the movies are from Dreamworks, you shall know the quality of it lo ^_^

Club Med Cherating, Kuantan

这是我第二次随公司旅行来到 Club Med。基本上设备都是大同小异，只是Rock Climbing移到真的山去了。

如果你是很喜欢看show、party、和户外活动的话，这里是还不错的，而且我们拿的是饮料任喝的配套，所以喜欢喜欢就点一杯饮品，蛮爽的。

要注意的是户外活动是有时间表的，所以得规划好，否则可能什么都玩不成了。总的来说，我不会自费来这里第二次咯.

This is the 2nd time I visited clubmed for company trip. Facilities still the same, just that the rock climbing has been moved to the real hill side.

If you like shows, parties and outdoor activities, then this is the place for you. We took the free flow of drinks package so pretty much enjoyed keep ordering different drinks from the bar :P

There is a time table for the outdoor activities so you've gotto take note on the time specify, otherwise, you would have miss it.

To conclude, I will not pay to come here 2nd time lo. Personally I still prefer Pangkor Laut Resort...

因为一位朋友的生日，我来到了这个装潢典雅的Hoofed。感觉和一般的Pub & Restaurant 有一点点的不一样。这里的烤猪蛮出名的，黑沙拉也很不错。一系列的红、白酒和啤酒任君选着。我呢，就爱它的装潢。。。位置就在TDH (Tom Dick & Harry's)的楼上哦。

I was here bcos of a good friend's birthday dinner. The feeling was slightly different from the normal pub & restaurant, I really like the reno here. It is famous of it roasted/suckling pig, dark salad is good too. There's a wide range of red/white wine for you to choose, and beers of course. It is at 1st floor of TDH (Tom Dick & Harry's). Worth a try.

我可是犹疑了几秒钟才‘知道’应该进哪一间才没错。这是除了Lubeck之外第二间让我有点‘不知所措’的厕所，都怪那标志。。。
I had few seconds of doubt on which to go in (tho its just the same)...hmnm... this is the 2nd toilet (besides the one in lubeck) that mades me 'hesitate' to go in bcos of its sign...adui...

This question goes to the core of the quality of your relationship.
Feeling safe means you can communicate openly with this person. The
basis of having good communication is trust â€' i.e. trust that I won't
get 'punished'; or hurt for expressing my honest thoughts and feelings.
A colleague of mine defines an abusive person as someone with whom you
feel afraid to express your thoughts and feelings.. Be honest with
yourself on this one. Make sure you feel emotionally safe with the
person you plan to marry.

QUESTION ..3: Is he/she a mensch?

A mensch is someone who is a refined and sensitive person. How can you
test? Here are some suggestions. Do they work on personal growth on a
regular basis? Are they serious about improving themselves? A teacher of
mine defines a good person as 'someone who is always striving to be good
and do the right ';. So ask about your significant other: What do they
do with their time? Is this person materialistic? Usually a
materialistic person is not someone whose top priority is character
refinement.

There are essentially two types of people in the world: (1) People who
are dedicated to personal growth and (2) people who are dedicated to
seeking comfort. Someone whose goal in life is to be comfortable will
put personal comfort ahead of doing the right thing. You need to know
that before walking down the aisle.

QUESTION ..4: How does he/she treat other people?

The one most important thing that makes any relationship work is the
ability to give. By giving, we mean the ability to give another person
pleasure.

Ask: Is this someone who enjoys giving pleasure to others or are they
wrapped up in themselves and selfâ€' absorbed?
To measure this, think about the following: How do they treat people
whom they do not have to be nice to, such as waiters, bus boys, taxi
drivers, etc.. How do they treat their parents and siblings? Do they
have gratitude and appreciation?
If they don't have gratitude for the people who have given them
everything; can you do nearly as much for them? You can be sure that
someone, who treats others poorly, will eventually treat you poorly as
well.

QUESTION ..5: Is there anything I'm hoping to change about this person after we're married?

Too many people make the mistake of marrying someone with the intention
of trying to 'improve'; them after they're married. As a colleague of
mine puts it: 'You can probably expect someone to change after marriage
for the worse' If you cannot fully accept this person the way they are
now, then you are not ready to marry them.
In conclusion, dating doesn't have to be difficult and treacherous.
The key is to try leading a little more with your head and less with
your heart. It pays to be as objective as possible when you are dating;
to be sure to ask questions that will help you get to the key issues.
Falling in love is a great feeling, but when you wake up with a ring on
your finger, you don't want to find yourself trouble because you didn't
do your homework.

Another perspective...
There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a
distance.. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go of or at
least minimize your time with draining, negative, incompatible,
notâ€'going anywhere relationships. Observe the relationships around you.
Pay attention...Which ones lift and which ones lean?
Which ones encourage and which ones discourage?
Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going
downhill?
When you leave certain people do you feel better or feel worse?
Which ones dont appreciate you?
Which ones make you feel good, praises you, boosts you with loving and
caring words or annotations.

The more you seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind, love and
truth around you...the easier it will become for you to decide who gets
to sit in the front row and who should be moved to the balcony of your
life.

An African proverb states, 'Before you get married, keep both eyes open,
and after you marry, close one eye'; Before you get involved and make a
commitment to someone, don't let lust, desperation, immaturity,
ignorance, pressure from others or a low selfâ€'esteem make you blind to
warning signs. Keep your eyes open, and don't fool yourself that you can
change someone or that what you see as faults aren't really that
important.
Do you bring out the best in each other?
Do you compliment and compromise with each other, or do you compete,
compare and control?
What do you bring to the relationship?
Do you bring past relationships, past hurt, past mistrust, past pain?
You can't take someone to the altar to alter them. You can't make
someone love you or make someone stay.
If you develop selfâ€'esteem, spiritual discernment, and 'a life'; you
won't find yourself making someone else responsible for your happiness
or responsible for your pain. Seeking status, sex, and security are the
wrong reasons to be in a relationship.

WHAT KEEPS A RELATIONSHIP STRONG IS:
1. TRUST
2. COMMUNICATION
3. INTIMACY
4. A SENSE OF HUMOR
5. SHARING TASKS
6. DAILY EXCHANGES (meal, shared activity, hug, call, touch, notes,
etc.)
7. SHARING COMMON GOALS AND INTERESTS
8. GIVING EACH OTHER SPACE TO GROW WITHOUT FEELING INSECURE
9.GIVING EACH OTHER A SENSE OF BELONGING AND ASSURANCES OF COMMITMENT
10. CONCERN AND CARE FOR YOUR LOVER IN YOUR OWN WAYS.
If these qualities are missing, the relationship will erode as
resentment withdrawal, abuse, neglect, and dishonesty; and pain will
replace.

华南茶室就在新永馨饼家对面（直走过一个红绿灯就是），听讲它的白咖啡和咖喱面还有虾面是蛮有名的哦。

Kafe Wah Nam is opposite the New Weng Hiong (the one famous with Kaya Puff), go straight cross the traffic light will be. We were told that this shop is famous of its white coffee and curry noodle and prawn mee...let’s take a look.

选了个有花的角落坐下，这红色的花瓣悄悄的告诉客人，圣诞节即将来临了。。。
We picked a corner with flowers, the red leafs seems telling people that the Christmas is around the corner..

讲真的我还没吃过‘河嘻’，问老板那是什么，他就数了一大对鱼丸的名称出来，哎呀，就来一个试试。。。结果如图所示。。。没什么特别。。。
I walked around and saw this 'Hua Hi' and curious what is it about... so I ordered one.. and Aunt laughted at me...==|| Nothing special tho...

呵呵，这鱼丸是自制的，我觉得不怎么样啦，不过那炸料就很棒咯！
Home made fish ball, to me its so so only but the fried stuff is damn nice lo!

这里的白咖啡真的很棒！我们还‘打包’回吉隆坡呢！哈哈。。。还有还有，看到有很多人叫‘蛋治’（烤面包再加生熟蛋在上面，看起来也很棒）。记得要试这里的叉烧包，也很不错哦！

The White Coffee here is really Good! We even packed one back to KL :P and I saw a lot of people ordered 'egg sandwich' (grill homemade bread with half boil egg on top of it, looks great too!). And also the Char Siew Bao here also damn nice!

在新永馨对面的店家买的。新配种的‘~~红毛榴莲’~~(是红毛荔枝才对），一点都不好吃。和原味的一点都不像！
Bought this opposite the shops of New Weng Hiong. New type of ~~'Ang Mao Durian'~~ (Sorry it should be Ang Mo Lychee). Not nice at all lo, nothing like the original one... so, won't try it next time :P

哈哈哈。。还买了个小蓝子装茶叶呢！

久违的衬衫 The long adsence shirt...

这衬衫少有三年没‘发市’，原因很简单 ~ 因为我超讨厌烫衬衫，而且穿起来一点都不舒服，绑着绑着那样，唉，反正就是不爽。

不爽还穿？哈哈。。。今天要‘见客’，所以咯，人在江湖啊，难。

不过，一天不到最后，一天都不知道我将会‘死’在哪家公司的。。。走着瞧吧。。。哈哈哈。。

I hardly wear shirt. Given a choice, I will definitely not wearing it. Put aside the hassle of ironing it, its just so uncomfortable to me.

And today I am wearing this shirt - after... more than 3 years? Hahaha... reason is very simple, I've gotto attend an external meeting.

It's just so uncomfortable. Physically and mentally.

What does this uncomfortable feeling tells?

Clearly, it is telling me loud that ~ look dude, this just ain't what you like and what you want.

Me: Ok noted. But... still need it for a living mah, will change whenever got chance ok?

Shirt: Ok...
