Everyone is always talking about newest opener, the best way to develop inner game, frames, routines, and all kinds of other shit that doesn't matter if you can't get your foot in the door and start a conversation with someone.

Most people meet members of the opposite sex through their social circle or through common interests. If a girl meets a guy at a convention for doctors a lot is assumed and this affects her first impression of the guy. She can assume that he is successful, smart, educated, etc. before even looking at him. The fact that his shirt is a size too big is easily overlooked because of all the passive value he brings to the table just for being a doctor.

But we're trying to learn COLD approach. On a cold approach you know nothing about the girl you're going to start a conversation with and she know nothing about you. All she has to judge you on is the first impression you give off. If you're well dressed, well groomed, carry yourself well, and make eye contact she's much more likely to give you the time of day than if you have bad posture, need to shave, and all your clothes are a size too big.

But lets bring this all back to day game.

Day game is the coldest of the cold approach. You literally know nothing about the girl except that she shops in whatever store you happen to meet her in. You're also in a situation where it's not the social norm to hit on strangers. And finally you're opening direct. Needless to say your first impression is pretty important.

I noticed a weird phenomenon that happened with my day game sets that I never really understood until recently. Women would always think that stuff I did was bolder and more direct than it actually was. I could talk about dropping out of college and they'd tell me they wish they could just do that and do what they wanted to do with life.

Everything I said and did was framed under the first impression that I was a man who went after what I wanted. The act of me going out of my way during the day and picking them up made such a lasting impression on them that everything I did afterward was framed around that first impression.

So how do you create a good first impression?

Sinn always said 'Anyone who's trying to get good at pickup and doesn't dress well is retarded." He's right. Fashion and grooming is the first place to start. I'm not going to write a fashion guide though. GQ and Details are both excellent men's fashion magazines and Kinowear is a great blog all about dressing for success.

For grooming you're going to want to go get a "good" haircut. A good haircut should cost about $40. Salons that charge much more than that usually are just charging for the experience of being there and will have more complimentary services like bathrobes, head massages, drinks, etc. Unless you're going for the 5 o'clock shadow look you want to shave daily. You want to keep your nails short and clean. Get rid of excessive body hair, especially on visible areas like your neck. And it should go without saying but brush your teeth, apply deodorant, and shower at least once a day.

The second thing you're going to want to fix is your nonverbal communication. This means body language, eye contact, vocal tonality, facial expressions, etc. There are a ton of good books written on all of these subjects. A good one to start with is The Definitive Book of Body Language

Finally I like to add that you should have a good handshake. It should be firm but not rough and ff your dad didn't teach you read this article or go to a car dealership and shake all the sales guys hands. Odds are that they'll have a good handshake.

I can guarantee that the better your first impression is the better all of your interactions with women are going to go.

Download of Me and DJFuji on Vince Kelvin's Podcast

DJFuji and I were the featured guests on Vince Kelvin's Podcast last week.

You can download the audio here. I have five game related posts that I need to finish and I'll be posting them over the next week or two including a day game LR that I never published.

But first I wanted to fill everyone in on what happened in LA, how my quitting cigarettes is going, and answer the flood of questions I've gotten about marijuana.

LA was interesting to say the least. The more I'm in LA the more I realize that I could never live there. There's no public transit, all the non-Mexican food is pretty bad, and the speed of the city is a little too fast for me.

In a lot of ways I think it's both the best and worst city to be in for pickup. The community there is really strong, all the instructors in the industry do lair talks there, you run into instructors most nights you're out, and the weather is amazing. But logistics are the worst in the country, you're competing with celebrities, dressing well doesn't make you stand out, You need connections to enjoy the night life, and with the exception of models and actresses the women aren't hotter than any other major city (they just have tans and dress better). I will say that if you're rich all the negatives disappear.

Saturday night we had to end night game early because we tried to bar hop but all the venues stopped letting people in after 1 or 1:15AM. We made it up on Sunday with more day game. We went to Glendale Galleria and the Americana right next door. These two venues combined make for an awesome day game venue. If I lived in LA I wouldn't go anywhere else to run day game.

Both DJFuji (Mehow Inc.) and Erika (Awakening from the dream) sat in our bootcamp and assisted with the night game infield portion. I thought both of them were a big help, Erika added a refreshing female perspective and DjFuji is an awesome coach who had good insights about the students. DJFuji is also a great example of a guy who peacocks hard and makes it work. I personally saw him get opened three times Saturday night.

Erika also made me... well at least a partial believer in energy healing. She put one hand on my chest in the seminar room. After about 30 seconds I felt a really intense heat in my chest, 45 seconds in I felt extremely sad, and after a full minute I was starting to cry. She explained it that the emotions that come up are in you already and she acts as a channel to let them out. I was skeptical but I also don't usually start fighting back tears when a woman puts her hand on my chest.

As usual I ate a shit ton of In-N-Out, DoubleDouble with spread only. And once again I didn't smoke pot in California. I really wanted to go into a medical marijuana shop and check out the different types of bud, the THC food, and what a guy at our lair talk described as "Nesquik that gets you high." And all of this leads me into my next topic. Marijuana.

I used to never mention that I smoked pot because I thought it would somehow negatively affect my image... as if the posts about ass to mouth helped it... Rumor has it that The Department of Defense has blocked access to my blog from any military computers because it's too sex related. But as soon as I started mentioning it people started asking me a shit ton of questions about it. Here are my my views on pot--

I've basically done it all when it comes to pot, except Amsterdam. I've smoked less than two times a month, I've smoked three times a day for periods of time, I've taken year long breaks, I've done gravity bongs, 4 footers, vaporized, smoked out of fruit, solar puffed, brownies, dro, organic shit, hash, dirt weed, stems and seeds, even resin when everyone's dry. Maybe some of this makes my opinion mean something but probably not.

First off is that I think Marijuana should be legalized. I think it should be regulated similar to alcohol, you have be over 18 to buy it, you can't do it in public, at work, while driving, etc. It should be taxed and only sold at specific licensed locations.

It's less addictive than cigarettes, as far as I know it's impossible to overdose on it, and people are more functional high then they are drunk. The war on drugs in this country wastes a ton of resources on busting dudes with an ounce in their glove box or a blunt behind their ear.

I have met some people who can live their lives high all the time. They're successful in their careers, own property, have kids, don't have credit card debt, and most people are none the wiser that they wake and bake. However this is not most pot smokers.

Most people who smoke all the time and I would describe as stoners build their lives around pot. They have jobs they can do high and don't get drug tested for usually they work in the hospitality industry (career waiters/bartenders) manual labor not involving heavy machinery, retail, and a mixed bag of musicians, DJs, writers, etc. Almost all of these people are not living up to their potential (Not that it's my place to make that judgment) and are not doing what they wanted to do with their lives. However they're usually happy with their lives which is more than I can say about most people I know.

So because most people can't smoke weed all the time and live their lives this brings us to finding a balance. This is going to be different for everyone and some people can't regulate their use and have to not use at all. It's also very hard to measure use, all weed is not created equal and a smoking 1/4 gram of mids affects you very differently than smoking a 1/4 gram of dro. Some people are affected the next day (pot hangover), others aren't. Botany comes into play too, are you smoking stuff that is Sativa or Indica dominant?

Finding a balance ultimately comes down to doing a little trial and error. For me personally I can safely smoke one or two times a week and still do my job well. My job is also demanding. I check and reply to my email when I wake up, usually 2 more times throughout the day, and finally before I go to sleep. I have multiple phone calls everyday I have to answer. I have to post on forums and update my blog. I've been creating products lately. And finally I coach infield. If I worked a 9 -5 that didn't involve math skills or critical thinking I could probably smoke three or four days a week and no one would know the difference.

If you want to know if your pot use has stopped being recreational ask yourself these questions-- Do you use in situations where you could get hurt? Do realize after the fact that you used more than you intended to or at times that you didn't intend to? Do you find yourself making a plan to not use and still make excuses to use anyways? Do you have to use if someone offers or is using around you? Do others comment about your use or notice a change in your personality when you haven't used in a while?

All of those are good indicators that your use is negatively affecting your life. All of these are also questions I've asked myself and have led me to cut back use.

Now for the misc questions--

1. No I don't smoke while working infield with students.
2. No I've never tried.
3. No I can't sarge high.
4. Yes I've tried
5. Yes I think sex is better while high.
6. Yes I think smoking pot can help you with women, it's a fun commonality to have
7. I smoke out of glass but vaporizers are better and expensive... Google Volcano Vaporizer
8. No I don't plan to quit completely anytime soon. My use is limited to once or twice a week and until my work situation changes it'll remain that way.

Finally I haven't smoked a cigarette in 25 days. Although I have taken a drag off of three separate cigarettes. I don't plan to become a smoker again. I also haven't drank alcohol in almost three months, with the exception of 1/2 a beer in Chicago that I drank as a courtesy... I really hate alcohol.

Over the next couple of weeks I'll be finishing up my day game DVD product. It's going include a seminar on day game, 10 - 12 day game sets of me, and Entropy and I's commentary on each. It should be released in the beginning of March.

I've also started coaching guys for day game by the hour in Boston on weekdays and some weekends. It's $100 an hour, minimum of 2 hours per session. Email me for more info.

Peace.

Good Reads

I've read some interesting articles lately and wanted to share links to them.

First off Sinn posted a two part article on what he calls natural attraction. Basically it breaks down so that for each time you've called her and she doesn't answer up or return your call you freeze her out for that many days before trying to call again.

Written out it looks like this--

Day 1 - Call
Day 2 - Freeze out
Day 3 - Call
Day 4 - Freeze out
Day 5 - Freeze out
Day 6 - Call
Day 7 - Freeze out
Day 8 - Freeze out
Day 9 - Freeze out
Day 10 - Call
Day 11 - Freeze out
Day 12 - Freeze out
Day 13 - Freeze out
Day 14 - Freeze out
Day 15 - Call

In theory this could go on forever but after two weeks (15 days) you can pretty much assume that the number is dead. I also like to leave a voicemail each time I call and she doesn't answer. It's best to keep them short and not mention the fact that she never returned your call. I usually just say "Hey, It's Doc. Talk to you later."

I used to leave leave messages of me singing a la Jeffy and his Air Supply voicemail... but then I kinda realized how weird and inconvenient it is to sing into someone's voicemail.

Now I usually just send this text.

I wait until it's about midnight or 1AM and send this fake booty call "Come over. Key is in the usual place."

Usually they reply saying that you texted the wrong person or something similar and I always respond "Haha. oops. that wasn't for you." and call them the next day. Most of the time they pick up and will start grilling you about the booty call and who it was for. Just laugh it off, cut the thread, and stack into something else.

Saffron has great connections to parties and night life and he would just change the name of his dead numbers in his phone and every week or two send out tons of mass texts to the girls saying "Hey everyone. Big party at X bar tonight. Come out."

Some nights a few girls would show up, other nights just one or none would come. Either way they'll give you social proof and a lot of times will create jealously plot lines and all that shit.

Try both, see which you prefer, and make the most of your numbers.

Tucker Max Really is a Dick

To start the hype for his movie Tucker Max released an updated version of I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell with a few extra stories and a big ad for the upcoming movie. I was a little early so I'm waiting around, basically everyone else waiting for him to show up was a chick. It was seriously like a 7 to 1 ratio of chicks to dudes... Talk about lifestyle.

Finally he shows up and makes the Borders staff kick everyone out of line who didn't have the new edition of his book unless they wanted to buy one right then and there. I think she's an amazing writer, a shitty philosopher, and knew all along that she knew how famous all her writing would make her." A few people left comments or emailed me privately about exactly what it was about her that I didn't like and why I think she's popular in The Community.

I'll start with why she's popular in the community--

Over late 2006 and early 2007 Tyler Durden made a series of blog posts about books he liked and thought everyone should read. He mentioned Power of Now, Driven From Within, The Great Divorce, Fire in The Belly, and Atlas Shrugged. I read all of the books over the next couple of months, along with everyone else. Suddenly Tolle and Ayn Rand are the new hot authors in The Community. It makes sense, Rand writes about powerful men, they get rich, get the girl, and always win. Some strange form of "Alpha Male" that is the perfect role model for men trying to reclaim their masculinity and make a new life for themselves.

And as I said before I like all four of the books by her that I've read, The Fountainhead, We The Living, Anthem, and Atlas Shrugged. I actually think Atlas Shrugged changed my life in some way, maybe just the process of reading 1000 pages. But I still recommend her fiction to most people who ask for book suggestions.

However her philosophy is a little off and I see two big problems with it--

Basically the pure form of capitalism she envisions is nearly if not completely impossible. Her conceptualization of capitalism is based on the premise of individual rights to private property. Also children are raised by their parents, and technically treated as property of their parents until a certain age. Generationally, “pure” capitalism will break down as children are inevitably shaped by the resources of their parents, and providing the “best” possible future for their children is typically the goal of parenting. Even with public schooling, it is impossible to wash out these birth effects. This represents one of the complications linked to Rand’s failure to acknowledge power and its effects. Class issues, Racism, blah, blah, blah.

These “realities” also complicate her theory regarding individuals from acting out of their rational self-interest. First, the power relationships, etc. an individual is born into inevitable shape both the possibilities available to him/her and (probably most importantly) these self-interests themselves. And if you think more about how self-interest develops over time, as well as consciousness itself, the ability of an objective reality to exist becomes increasingly implausible. While we have become good at observing our world and finding various ways to quantify it, we will always be trapped by our own status as human (unable to hold a purely “objective” view). Even if you speak of an exclusively human reality, the many social, cultural, societal, etc. forces at work cannot be removed from our experience, and are constantly undergoing change themselves.

Perhaps the greatest individual freedom comes from understanding that the majority of our lives are constructed. While there may be some “realities” we cannot escape (death and taxes), we will always be able to perceive, represent, and respond to these in many ways. Whether or not we have voluntary control over these processes is debatable, but The Community was founded on the principle that we can.

This is really all I'm going to say about this subject. Feel free to post comments and shit but I plan on writing about game for the next few articles.

Quitting Smoking, Laziness, and Books

I've been MIA lately and wanted to fill you guys in on what's been going on in my life.

I'm officially 8 days into quitting cigarettes. I had my last cigarette last Monday at the airport. It's kinda weird because I didn't really plan on quitting but next thing I knew I hadn't smoked in 3 days so I kept going. I told Entropy today that I was quitting, his response "The first week is hard, the second you kill someone, and after that it's not too bad."

Most of last week I was taking a vacation from basically everything. The week in Vegas directly followed by a week in Chicago burned me out so I took some time off to recharge my batteries. As great as it was to just sleep, eat, and hangout with friends all week I actually got bored and wanted to start being productive again.

Megatron came from LA and stayed with me this past weekend. Mostly we just hung around, he went out one night with Entropy, we went to Jack Kerouac's grave and yesterday we went out for day game. He met a really hot chick and met up with her later that night. I guess she gave a lot of LMR and eventually just blew him. Last night in Boston, meet a chick during the day, meet up with her at 10pm, and get head, pretty cool. Stuff like that always reminds me how fucking awesome day game is just because cool shit like that happens and you get to create this whirlwind romance thing with women you've just met but without the alcohol/drug combo that comes with night game.

Other than that I saw some good movies and read some books. The Wrestler is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It's directed by Darren Aronofsky (Pi and Requiem for a Dream.) Basically it follows a washed up professional wrestler and stripper as they try to come to terms with getting old. I suggest everyone checks it out. Plus Mickey Rourke plays the lead... he's slowly becoming an actor who I'll basically see anything he's in, his work with Robert Rodriguez and Tony Scott has been great AND apparently he called Tom Cruise a pussy.

I read Ayn Rand's Anthem the other day. Ayn Rand has sort of become the token philosopher-esque figure in the community since Atlas Shrugged made TD's reading list. I think she's an amazing writer, a shitty philosopher, and knew all along that she knew how famous all her writing would make her. Anthem is an Anti-Communist novel set in dystopian future, think 1984, Brave New world, Fahrenheit 451, etc. In a nutshell it's all about the main character's search for individuality and eventually finding it. It's a quick read, 2 hours tops, and is very inspiring.

I also read Hemingway's A Farewell To Arms this week. I liked it, not as much as The Sun Also Rises but it was still good. I think I just need to learn more about Hemingway and what influenced his writing and eventual suicide to really get his work.

Finally I'm going to LA Jan 30th - Feb 1st. Entropy and I are going to be running a bootcamp and we're going to be speaking to Casanova Crew on the 30th from 5 -7pm and DJ Fuji is going to be speaking directly after me. If you're in LA come check it out

Ok I'm done.

Universal Health Care

This is the first... and hopefully last rant of mine about a social issue.

We need universal health care.

Sorry to all my non-US readers.

Chicago Wrap Up and a Thank You

I'm back from Chicago and wanted to write about the trip a bit. I also wanted to thank everyone who helped me out over the weekend with the bag situation. If any of you guys ever need anything feel free to hit me up.

So I got into Chicago last Wednesday and was going to be there until Monday. My friend picked me up from the airport and we went to have dinner at his parents house. His parents are the coolest parents I've ever met. We ate, got high, and talked about psychology and philosophy until the morning. It would have been an amazing start to the trip but when I went out to my friend's car later that night I realized that my bag had been jacked.

The next two days were part trying to get clothes, toiletries, and everything else I lost and I worked a 1 on 1 and did the first night of bootcamp.

Our entire bootcamp group was full of awesome dudes. We actually had our oldest student ever, 59, and he was a complete day game natural. Another one of our students was friends with Saffron so we spent a while bullshitting about him. The friend I stayed with also took the bootcamp and he basically lived in a frat house where all of his roommates would come home around 4am drunk, yelling, and throwing food at each other. interesting to say the least. The bootcamp itself went really well, even with a such a diverse group of students we were able to see a lot of positive change in all of the guys and all that good shit.

Sunday night Entropy and I had dinner at my friend’s parent’s house again, once again his parents got me super high and Entropy wicked drunk. Stayed up all night talking psychology, eastern religion and basically ended the trip the way it began. Minus the luggage.

In the end losing my shit was probably a good experience to go through. I realized I can end up in any city with just the clothes on my back and still have a great time. They're just material possessions, I'm still alive, blah, blah, blah.

It's nice to be home and once I get a new computer I'm going to try to start posting multiple times a week.

My Bag Got Stolen in Chicago

Last night I get picked up from the airport by my friend and go to his parents house to smoke and eat dinner. My laptop, clothes and shoes for 6 days, camera, other electronics, everything. So now I'm in Chicago for six days with nothing.

If this blog has ever helped you or we've met in person and it helped you in one way or another I'd really appreciate it if you left a donation by paypal. It was my first time there and Sinn and Priest made sure it was a trip I would remember.

Entropy and I get to the hotel around midnight and meet up with Sinn and Priest. What followed that night was one giant search for one thing after another. Entropy wants food so we walk all around Vegas looking for something to eat. It's pretty fucked up that in a city where you can get alcohol, drugs, and pussy 24/7 it's really hard to find quick food.

After we eat we sit down at a bar and this random guy comes over, rubs my shoulders, and gives me a thumbs up as he walks away. My thought process went like this, first I thought he was gay, then I thought he was in the community and was saying hey in a really socially awkward way. He comes back about 2 minutes later with a woman and now I think he's trying to sell me a hooker. He says she's his wife and he brought her over to prove to us he wasn't gay. Weird.

Sinn and I want weed so Entropy goes back to the hotel room while the rest of us wander around Vegas for 2 hours looking for pot. We literally walked over every bridge looking for pot. We thought everything was all good when we see a dude with dreadlocks, a beanie, and a fur coat on a bridge. Sinn says hey as we walk by and the guy shakes his head. After that Sinn decides to run direct weed game. Indirect is when you say "hey man" as you walk by. Direct is more of a "Do you know where we can get weed?"

As we're walking this group of girls keeps yelling "Woooooo" at us from a bridge. Sinn replies back "Less Wooooo, more titties" I think as a whole RSD needs to adopt this philosophy.

We finally end up back at a hotel where we meet a guy who can get us weed. He disappears for like 30 minutes and we cut our losses. Bummed that it's now 4AM, 7AM Boston time for me, we have no weed, the clubs are now closed, and there are like 5 hookers at the bar we're at, we go to bed.

Blah Blah bootcamp seminar the next day. Blah Blah bootcamp infield. This group of guys was actually really cool. Throughout the weekend I saw six of them in sets where they could have pulled the girl but didn't and two of the guys did end up getting laid.

While Priest and I were coaching Friday night I pretended to grind on him and within minutes this gay guy pulls me a aside and says "That man is too big for you!" In the most stereotypical gay dude voice ever. Priest is an entire foot taller than me and probably outweighs me by 130LBS.

We go back to the hotel to smoke, Sinn had found weed. Sinn and I are standing at the elevator waiting for Entropy and Priest and the door opens and two girls are staring at us. It was like a scene in a movie where pussy just gets dropped in your lap. Entropy and Priest still aren't there, the door closes, and the girls are gone forever. I don't ditch friends for pussy but I was tempted.

Smoke Smoke. Drink Drink. Somehow the idea of an Ed Hardy drinking game comes up. Every time you see an Ed Hardy shirt you have to take a drink. Sinn replies he doesn't have the money for that game, Entropy says he doesn't have the livers. I'm baked at this point and laugh uncontrollably for about five minutes.

It also somehow gets decided that Sinn and I are like Penn and Teller when we're high. Basically Sinn talks a lot and I just do stupid shit. Sinn starts talking about this joint he smoked one time that he described as "eight inches long with a bulbous tip" Entropy breaks in "Sounds like my cock" ... This is considerably less funny writing it.

We go downstairs and this guy with a leather fanny pack is in the elevator with us.

Sinn: Hey dude, that's a nice fanny pack
Dude: Thnaks
Sinn: Yeah you could keep a lot of stuff in there

I remember we ran into a drunk Mehow and Hawaii after that but from there the night sort of becomes a blur.

I do remember Sinn and I telling Entropy that cutting your toenails with wire cutters is disgusting. Entropy pulls Priest over, "Hey dude, what do you think of cutting your toenails with wire cutters? I now have a new opinion opener BTW. Priest replies "Well shit, depends on how thick your toenails are."

We do more bootcamp the next day. Some of the students get laid. I wing a student with his chick so he can pull. He gets the girl out of the venue and she wants to pee before they leave. His chick starts throwing up. My girl wants to go check on her and the students looks at me.

Think she'll still want to fuck?
Probably not dude, vomit kinda kills the mood.
Are you gonna fuck your girl
No, I'm not ending my Vegas night at 2 for a 6.
Wanna go?
Sure.

And we walk away to go debrief with the rest of the guys.

Gamble. Drink. Smoke. Strip clubs until 8am. Sinn is doing well with this stripper but she doesn't get off until 10, bootcamp starts at 12, he gets her number and leaves.

I really remember nothing about the last day. Bootcamp ended at 5, we got IN and OUT, and Sinn and I smoked until 3am, plus he drank the whole time, Entropy and Priest were drinking too. They went out, I went to bed.

Overall it was an awesome trip. I had more fun on a trip than I'd had in a while.

One Crazy Year

I was looking back at my New Years resolutions post from last year and I had to laugh. I was about to do my first lair talk, I was dating this crazy stripper girl with a weird family, and had just started coaching. To say a lot has changed in the past year would be an understatement.

I set the bar high for myself with my resolutions too--

1. Get really good at pickup
2. Update my blog more
3. Work on stand up comedy

I got about as "good" as I want to be at pickup. Sinn has always said that you're goal with pickup is being able to move to a country where you speak the language and be able to find a girlfriend in a week. I got there a while ago. There are still things I could improve on but I'm not worried about it. I'm dating a girl I'm in love with and other women have taken the backseat for a while. I actually feel like I'm going through what Entropy went through back in spring/summer with his girlfriend, lifestyle changes, etc.

I've updated my blog more... I might start updating 5 days a week and see how I like it. Just devote an hour a day to blogging and see how it goes. I'll probably go off topic a lot with my writing but fuck it, it's my blog.

I haven't done anything with stand up. I still want to someday but I have more important things going on now and I still have some soul searching to do before I throw myself into comedy.

I guess before I start listing resolutions I should write about where my life is at now and how that will affect my resolutions

As I've said before I'm dating a girl I'm in love with. We're still open, though both of us have little desire to see other people. Because of that I'm not going out as regularly as I used to. I still go out enough so that I don't get rusty but other women have taken the backseat lately. I coach students every weekend either on bootcamps or through one on ones. When I'm not coaching I'm running a business, with my girlfriend, writing, reading, and of course watching movies.

1. Practical Pickup. I really don't want to write my goals for the business on a public blog. Obviously I want it to grow and I'll be dedicating a lot of time to it this year.

2. Get in better shape. I'm actually in decent shape now. It seems the more weed I smoke and more Taco Bell I eat the nicer my six pack becomes. But I want to go to the gym 2 - 4 times a week. There is one 2 blocks away from my apartment so this shouldn't be hard.

3. Quit smoking cigarettes completely. I've more or less quit. I smoke less than 7 cigarettes a week but before the summer I want that number to be 0.

4. Drive across the country.

5. Write something not related to pickup. I'd love to write a novel but I think a short story or two is a good place to start.

6. Think about what I want to do with my life. As fun as it is I don't want to be a professional pickup artist forever...

I think this is a good start.

Updates

I haven't blogged in a while. Wanted to let everyone know what's been going on.

I've been reading a shit ton of Bukowski lately. I started with Post Office, read Women right after, and then read Ham on Rye. Bukowski was always on my list of authors to read but I had never really gotten around to it. His writing style is very easy to read but still pulls you into the stories and makes you really understand the characters and their actions. I'd start with Post Office or Ham on Rye if you're interested in checking Bukowski out.

I'm going to New York with my girlfriend for Christmas. I've never spent a holiday with a girlfriend's family before... should be interesting. I'll probably manage to get a lot of work done while I'm there and will have a new post or two about day game after Christmas.

Then the whole month of January I'm going to be all over the country. I'm going to Las Vegas the first weekend of January to help Sinn with his first 12 Months to Mastery bootcamp. I've never been to Vegas and I'm really excited about it. I watched Leaving Las Vegas the other day and texted Entropy "This movie makes me what to fall in love with a prostitute." He replied "It makes me want to drink myself into oblivion." This should be an interesting trip.

I also watched Casino the other day... I really have nothing to say about it, just kinda funny I unintentionally watched two movies about Vegas a week before I'm going there. And if you haven't watched Casino or Leaving Las Vegas you should check them out.

After Vegas I come back to Boston for one day and then fly out to Chicago for an entire week. Entropy and I are running a bootcamp and I'm also doing some one on ones. We may also have a new coach with us, more about them later though. And if we met last time I was in Chicago give me a shout.

I come back to Boston on January 12th and have a few days off before Entropy and I run a bootcamp in Boston. As much as I love to travel Boston is still my favorite city to teach in and I feel that our programs there are always the best. It also gives me an opportunity to run into former students of mine and catch up with them.

From there it looks like I'm going to be spending the rest of January in California with a bootcamp in San Diego on the 24th and 25th followed by our second Los Angeles bootcamp the following weekend of Jan 31st/Feb 1st.

I've also more or less quit smoking cigarettes. I've had three cigs in the past week and I feel like it's at a healthy level. I'm not ready to quit 100% yet but at this rate a pack will last me a month and my body won't have any dependence to nicotine... My diet coke addiction is another story, that shit is like liquid crack.

I'm going to be quitting my film job and my last day is coming up. As much as I liked my job I just can't do both anymore.

Finally I'm getting a new roommate starting on January 1st. He's an old friend of mine from high school. He's not in Fight Club and I'm pretty excited about this. I had a community roommate for a year and as cool as it was I'm ready for a change. My new roommate is also in amazing shape, think cover of Men's Health amazing shape. That means I'm going to be getting in better shape through a little thing called osmosis.

Hope everyone has a good holiday

DayGame Seminar Cancelled

Snow sucks

I'll post the reschedule date ASAP

Day Game Seminar, Sunday Dec. 21st, 5PM

For anyone in Boston--

I'm going to giving a four hour day game seminar on Sunday December 21st from 5pm - 9pm

Here's the deal, the seminar is going to be recorded for a product and I've got 40 spots available. Here are my thoughts on day game moving sets.

So much of day game, or just game in general comes down to logistics, and moving sets during the day are some of the worst logistics you'll have to deal with. If I see a moving set in the mall and it looks like they're going into a store I wait the 2 minutes and open them once she's in the store just because the logistics are so much better.

But most of the time that doesn't happen and I'm forced to open her as she's moving. If she's walking in the opposite direction as me I like top let her pass me and about 3 steps later I turn around and really oversell my direct opener, "I know this is wicked random but I HAD to come meet you, I'm Doc." I really don't think that stopping them or doing the double take thing really matters either way, it's just a personal preference. Saffron stops them in their tracks and it works just as well.

If they're walking in the same direction as you it's common sense that you can just start a conversation as you walk because you're walking the same way.

A lot of the time the women have a legitimate time constraint. I always like to just go for the number close right away even if I've only talked to her for 30 seconds, it's not the most effective method but if she's in a rush then she's in a rush and you can say you gave it your best shot. If she isn't pressed for time than I like to go for the instant date by around the five minute mark.
