This year’s Day on Campus will be held on March 17th, 2018. There is also an option for students to stay overnight on March 16th, 2018.

Come learn more about the University of Wisconsin’s College of Engineering and the Society of Women Engineers! Admitted women engineering students can sign up for the event when they register for an Admitted Student Preview Day.

Friday, April 26th:

9-9:30am ~ Registration and Breakfast

9:30-10:15am ~ Day on Campus Welcome, College of Engineering Welcome

10:15am-12:15pm ~ Engineering or All-Campus Tour & Class sit in within intended major

12:15pm-1:15pm ~ Lunch

1:15pm-2:00pm ~ Engineering Majors Panel

2:30pm-3:15pm ~ Opportunities Panel

3:15pm-4:15pm ~ Small Group Discussion (question and answer sessions for both students and parents)

4:15pm-4:30pm ~ Closing Remarks & Evaluations

Overnight Schedule (for those staying with a host..highly recommended!)

4:30-5:45pm ~ Meet host, settle into host’s home, free time, walk to dinner

5:45-7:15pm ~ Dinner on State Street (optional: shop, sight see, explore the Terrace, etc.)

7:15-?? ~ Bonfire and Ice Cream at Dejobe Hall

Overnight ~ Sleep at new friend’s apartment!

Saturday, April 27th:

8:30-9:30am ~ Breakfast and Evaluations

General Information- Day on Campus

Day on Campus is a SWE-hosted event which invites prospective female engineering students to campus for a well-rounded campus visit. The focus is on the engineering campus where students will have the chance to sit in on engineering classes in their prospective majors, ask questions in small and large group discussions, tour campus, and stay with a current SWE member (if desired).

In the meantime, prospective students will build relationships with both future engineering students as well as current UW-Madison Engineers. This event seeks to build these connections and to assert why the University of Wisconsin-Madison is such a great place to be for any female engineer.

Students need not accept their admission before attending, but are certainly welcome to attend after accepting, as well. This year’s Day On Campus Event is scheduled for Friday, April 26th-Saturday, April 27th, and includes the aforementioned activities throughout the day Friday, a Friday evening social activity, provided meals, an optional overnight stay, and breakfast in the morning.
