Making reservation payments through PayPal

When we launched our website back in 2006, it was only meant for providing information about our lodge over the internet (moreover to secure our e-Identity), soon we started getting reservation inquiries/requests and till early this year we have confirmed the reservation requests only by accepting either DDs/Cheques posted at our address or payments directly deposited in our Bank account.

Today we are happy to announce that we now accept PayPal transfers as reservation payments. For this all you have to do is to ask for the option and we, with the reservation estimate shall send you a PayPal Money Transfer Request, and you by that would be easily able to make an online transfer through your Credit Card (any).

*We as ever, do not impose any service charges on the guest for the payment option.

Every month we get hundred of emails bringing different queries to us. We have compiled a few (very common) for the reference of our guests. Though posting these on blog will not serve the exact purpose but until these are added to the website, it may prove to be of use to a few.

FAQs

Q. I am allergic to cigarette smoke and hopefully this will not be a problem in your Lodge.

A. Our Lodge is a smoke-free facility. Proper ventilation in each room and large airy verandah would make your stay more comfortable.

Q. Do you have a refrigerator in the rooms?

A. Currently, one of the rooms has a refrigerator, and we are planning to add fridges to the other rooms as well. In the meantime, guests may use the refrigerator in the dining area for drinking water and soft drinks.

Q. Is an airport transfer/railway pick-up service available?

A. Yes, we can arrange pickup from Airport as well as from the local train station.

Q. Do you have cars on hire for us in Agra for local shopping and sightseeing?

A. Yes, we can arrange for a private car and dependable, knowledgeable driver for local shopping and sightseeing as well as for excursions to attractions.

Q. Can you assist us with booking of internal flights and train tickets?

A. Yes, we can assist you with these services.

Q. Do you have access to an electric current converter so that we can use our American-engineered (110v) appliances?

A. Yes, we can provide a converter for your use.

Q . We are bringing a laptop computer and will need access to the Internet while we are residing with you. Do you have arrangements for this?

A. We have Wi-Fi connections available in the Lodge. But you need to bring your WiFi enabled laptop to access the same.

Q. Can you arrange rental of a mobile phone for our use while in India?

A. No, But we can assist you in getting a mobile phone.

Q. What is the schedule of meals at the Lodge?

A. Breakfast is served between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM, but this schedule can be changed to accommodate the needs of the guest. In addition, lunch and/or dinner can be provided for a nominal charge, with three hours advance notice.

Q. Do you accept credit cards?

A. Yes we accept all kind of cards at no service charge.

Mark it as an another accomplishment for us in order to establish overselves as a Green/Comfortable/No-cost-for-the-frills Accommodation Provider.

We at Dayal Lodge are continuously working hard towards our own set standards of sustainable green budget lodging and in the process of same we recently installed a new 30 KVa green (silent, low emission) genset of Mahindra and Mahindra make. Though it costed us a lot but the positive response we are getting from our guests (who defiantly were not happy with our old gensets) keep us going towards our goals.

* PS : Odd but true :: We are the only budget accommodation in Agra to provide seamless/silent/24 Hour power back-up.

An unDesigned website :?

An another exploration of my idle brain. I found the term on Internet on a travel web-site's blog, initially I used to hate that sort of designs but after reading I found the website and its design to be very creative and 100% satisfactory in terms of user friendliness.

I too have started unDesigning our site (www.Dayal.co.in) and was busy for a couple of days realizing that whether I 'd be able to or not.

Anyways, till I am through it, you may read the article below I just picked unedited;

Introducing undesign

There has been some chatter about the concept of “undesign”. I struggled to find a definition of it that I could publish so I am going to come up with my own:

I now define undesign as a web design that has the following characteristics:

Copy / text is the user interface - The words, the size of text, the length of the sentence, the paragraph breaks - all of this forms the user interface (rather than creating containers with graphics - and placing text / copy inside those containers)
Links are text based - not images
There are no gratuitous user interface elements - I define gratuitous as those that either don’t provide information (for example stars on a star rating) nor assist with usability (for example lines between sections - acting as dividers).
Usability is prioritised over visual branding - the design is engineered to be used - not admired like a piece of static art.

So what you end up with is a mainly text website. It sounds dull but it isn’t trust me.

Finally, got time and uploaded the redesigned website with more important/relevant information and links that we had left in the first go.
I feel the design now to be more soothing and appealing to eyes. A few links may not be working right now, but I am hopeful that the site may be flawless once I use it for 2/3 days.

Finally after a day full of thoughts I 've planned a few things to include in this blog just to give it a start (finally after an year long wait for spare time to enter in my hectic schedule and technology to enter our premises), these in no way represent my (or our as a team) aspirations about being in the frontline of "e-travel/hospitality news and review portal managing Cos. "
