Solution :-

1) Create boot.properties file in below location .

/u01/app/oracle/config/domains/Vinay/servers/AdminServer/security/boot.properties

2)Also create “security”directory if it is not there.

3) Write username & password in below format and restart the server

4) If you check again boot.properties after restart , the username & password is encrypted now.

Steps :-

To configure a server agent component in Oracle Web Services Manager
Point your browser to the Web Services Manager Control Console and log in using
your user name and password.
The Web Services Manager Control Console is accessed with a URL of the form:

For example:

2. Click Add New Component.
3. On the Add New Component page, define:
■Component name
■Component type
■Container type

Click Register.

Define Policy Set for Server Agent :-

To define the policy set for the server agent:
1. At the Web Services Manager Control Console, click Policy Management, then click Manage Policies.
2. In the component list, select the agent for which the policy set is to be defined, and click Policies.
3. The policy set for the agent is displayed.
4. Click the Edit icon for the Default Policy.
5. Select Extract Credentials from the list, and click OK.
6. The Policy Definition page reappears, showing the newly added Extract Credentials step.

Click Configure to define the properties for the Extract Credentials

a. The Enabled property is set to true by default.
b. The credentials location is set to WS-BASIC.

Install Server Agent on OC4J

1. At a Oracle Web Services Manager command prompt, navigate to the bin directory of the Oracle Web Services Manager component within Oracle SOA installation. For example:

2. Using a text editor, edit the agent.properties file.
3. For the agent.component.id, insert the Component ID of the server agent that was registered
4. At the command prompt, run the installAgent command:
ORACLE_HOME\owsm\bin\wsmadmin installAgent Oracle-AS-password
where Oracle-AS-password is the OC4J administrator password.

Configure the Web Services Agent in Application Server Control

It is important to enable the Oracle Web Services Manager agent, Oracle Web Services
Manager and associate it with the Oracle WSM Server Agent.

To Configure the web services Agent in Enterprise Manager:

1. Open Application Server Control Console home page.
2. Under Members, click the home link.
3. Click Web Services. The list of web services is displayed.
4. Click the webservice link
5. Click the Administration link to display the management features available for
this web service.
7. Select Web Service Agent and click Move. Press OK

Pre-requisites before upgrade & Upgrade :-

Backup of ORACLE APPLICATION SERVER oracle inventory should be taken, ORACLE APPLICATION SERVER home, ORABPEL, ORAESB, ORAWSM schemas in dehydration database before upgrade .
The location of inventory for particular oracle home will be in orainst.loc file

1. Change the owner permission of .apachectl from root to app user and change the http ports if any used less than 1024 in httpd.conf and ssl.conf .
(later you can revert back the permission and ports once the upgrade is done.)

2. Check the oc4j container name in install. Properties and coreesv.properties.

3. following property has to be false in server.xml file of SOA container

Run the upgrade scripts in Database as orabpel and oraesb user

4. start the upgrade by .runInstaller utility.

Post upgrades tasks

There was some performance issue in Development server due to thousands of unused/junk BPEL processes deployed within the container , but I couldn’t able to delete all at once as there was no option and if deleting one by one could take many hours to perform this , then I found a solution over the net which changes little code of some JSPs of the product ( Although not change in the product code not supported by Oracle). Here is the process to do the same which saved huge amount of hours and work :-

Note :- Replace all "*" with "<" and "#" with ">"

1) Take a backup of the files; bulkUpdateProcess.jsp and doBulkUpdateProcess.jsp.

Navigate to the BpelConsole after you above steps, now use the new feature. Select the BpelProcesses you want to undeploy or use the ‘Check_all’ option and press the ‘Bulk update’ button.

Click at the bottom of the page the new ‘Process Undeploy’ option which you can use to undeploy all the selected processes.

The reason is The execution of this instance "26090849-BpInv2-BpSeq0.3-3" for process "Test" is supposed to be in a jta transaction, but the transaction is not present or in active state, please turn on the application server transaction debug logs to get more information..
Please consult your administrator regarding this error.

Symptoms :- The error is occurring intermittently in BPEL logs for test domain in the format above.

Cause:- It’s a generic error but in our case it is request time out which is due to inappropriate value of “transaction-config” timeout parameter in transaction-manager.xml in the path below :-

$OH/j2ee/oc4j-soa/config/transaction-manager.xml

Oracle Recommendation :- For us we have defined “600” milliseconds value which seems to be less , it should be increases but on the basis of business requirement.

Resolution Steps :-

1) Go to $OH/j2ee/test_oc4j/config path ( In each OC4J)

2) Update the new password for "oc4jadmin" in system-jazn-data.xml file with "!newpasword". "!" is used for encrytption.

3) Go to $OH/j2ee/home/persistence/ascontrol/ascontrol/securestore directory.

4) Delete the contents of the "securestore" directory .

5) Restart the application server or oc4j container.

How to re-point nodes to current Oracle Grid Agent to new Grid OMS (10.2.0.5)

It is a two step process as far as my documentation goes given below :-

(i) STEP1 :-

a) Remove the agent from the old OMS otherwise the same agent will not be able to point to the new OMS as it is registered in the old OMS with below tasks :-

a.1)From OMS, drop all the Targets on the host to be removed, except the Host and Agent.All targets except the Host and Agent should now be gone from the OMS.

a.2) Confirm the targets (except Host and Agent) are removed successfully and completely from the OMS:

Click on "Setup" in upper right.
Click on the "EM 10g Grid Control Management System" tab
You will see this information on the page:

--> Management Services and Repository
--> Overview page
--> General section
--> Deleted Targets: < click on the digit listed here >
a.3) Click on "Deleted Targets" (Note this only appears once a delete is attempted.)
a.4) Confirm that the "Time Delete Completed" column is filled in; once that column is filled in then the delete is complete.
b) Drop the Host target from the old OMS.
Targets >> Hosts, highlight the host in the list and hit "Remove" button.

Monitor for the "Time Delete Completed" column.
Proceed once the column is updated.
c) Drop the Agent target from the old OMS.
Targets >> All Targets >> [pick Agent from list] >> "Remove" button.

Monitor for the "Time Delete Completed" column.
Proceed once the column is updated.

Problem Description

While inserting a large BLOB using JDBC, the application fails with:
ORA-22990: LOB locators cannot span transactions at

oracle.jdbc.dbaccess.DBError.SQLToIOException(DBError.java, Compiled Code)

Explanation

-----------

The Oracle oracle.sql.BLOB OutputStream writes the data in chunks. Since autocommit defaults

to true, the first chunk is committed. This results in the write operation for

the next chunk of the Blob to fail since it appears to be in the next

transaction.

In those conditions, the ORA-22990 exception will occur with any version of Oracle JDBC driver.

Solution Description

--------------------

Issue the setAutoCommit(false) command. Then, explicitly commit the

transaction after all of the Blob chunks have been written to the row and

the stream.close() method has been executed.

If using the Oracle 10g JDBC driver (or greater version), a second solution

consists of using the standard JDBC api (setBinaryStream method

of java.sql.PreparedStatement interface). And in this case, AutoCommit can

be set to true;

Here is an example :

The MOD_OC4J* errors basically convey that the HTTP Server (through mod_oc4j) is unable to communicate with the OC4J instance in question. Some of the possible causes are :

1. Internet Explorer (KeepAlive) Bug

2. Firewalls

3. Connection timeouts between HTTP Server/mod_oc4j & OC4J

4. OC4J instance running short on memory

5. OC4J JVMs loaded

6. Application(s) blocking up OC4J

In $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf/httpd.conf, increase the Timeout directive value to, say, 600 seconds. (This should be smaller than the Firewall timeout setting, if any)

In $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf/mod_oc4j.conf below the tag add the following:

Oc4jCacheSize 0

Oc4jConnTimeout 600 (This is again in seconds &, again, should be smaller than the Firewall timeout setting, if any)

Update the configuration as follows:

Application gets automatically undeployed after OC4J container restart

Whenever we were restarting the OC4J Container , we observed that some of the applications automatically gets undeployed and are not visible in enterprise manager console.We found below errors in the container logs which are due to the wrong entries in server.xml and default-website.xml file Then we deleted those physical appliation folders from the $OH/j2ee/testoc4j/applications and restarted the container and then deployed the J2EE applications again. It worked even after the restart.

Issue :- opmn referreing to wrong entries in server.xml and default-website.xml file.

Solution :- Delete application folders from $OH/j2ee/testoc4j/applications and redeployed the applications.

How to enable exception message in stack trace.

When an error occurs in the translation or runtime execution of a JSP page, the container would return the exception, message and a stack trace to the client. However, the exception is not displayed in the page by default in OC4j.

This can be a little annoying for development machines. There are several ways to change this behavior. The easiest way is to set the development flag at the container level. This can be done by updating the element of the global-web-application.xml file.

3) Delete mapping between admin user and su1-grp with below command :-

1) This error comes whenever there is a deadlock occurred in the database which stops releasing the process resulting into the halt of OC4J

2) Find the deadlock process

3) Kill the deadlock process by

Sql > Alter system kill session ‘session id, serial no’;

4) Check the application to see its smooth functioning, issue will get resolved.
