CBM Fight Club RULES!!!
You can base your vote on any version of the character (but preferably use the main comics continuity or live adaptation). For those not familiar with the character I have provided a short feature for each character, just click the name below the character's profile picture (or just scroll to the comment section and see the intelligent arguments made by the CBM community members to help you decide who to vote). This is NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST (That is worth repeating -NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST), please decide logically, you can defend your vote in the comment section, and you can even include descriptive detail on how one character takes down his opponent.

Consider each fight as the FIRST MEETING of the two characters (even if they exist in the same universe, treat the fights as first encounter, which means there are no prior knowledge of the other's power set and abilities, as well as knowing their strengths or weaknesses).

These fights are Chance Encounters, the FIGHTS are NOT PLANNED, so there are no preparation time. But the characters are outfitted with their regular equipments, weapons, and other stuffs that are closely associated to the character. Though the fights are first encounters, it can last as long as it can. The fights does not need to be DEATHMATCHES, incapacitating another character counts as a WIN.

Consider the character's personality and how the character will act on the given situation (will he fight dirty, will he be honorable, etc…). The characters can use anything in their present surrounding for their advantage.

What appears as one-sided fights will occasionally appear in the CBM Fight Club tournaments (e.g. Nick Fury vs Thing, Juggernaut vs Rorscharch, etc...). However, like in our favorite comicbooks, these kinds of fights regularly happen (e.g. Spider-man vs Hulk, Batman vs Darkseid, etc...), and like the underdogs in those stories you can be creative in coming up with ways on how the “weaker” warrior brings down the more powerful opponent.

CBM Fight Club rules states that these fights are first encounters without the combatants knowing anything about their opponent, but it also states that these “imaginary” fights can go on as long as it can, until one fighter is dead or permanently incapacitated (e.g. trapped in a phantom zone). This gives the “weaker” fighter, if he survives the first skirmish, to think of a plan in defeating his opponent. However, you have to limit it to the underdog’s capability of actually figuring out his opponent’s weakness, and if it involves creating a device or a making intricate plans, you have to consider if it is within the character’s ability to execute. A smart fighter uses his surrounding to his own benefit or he can bring the fight in an area where he could get the most leverage and advantage.

However, you can suggest other characters who are not on the list but provided they are ComicBook Characters first who was later adapted into Live Media and not vice versa). Comic Book History

Who is BATGIRL?
Barbara Gordon, the original Batgirl, is the niece and adopted daughter of Commissioner Gordon. She was Batgirl for many years until a tragic event paralyzed her from waist down. Barbara reinvented herself as the wheel-chair bound Oracle, an international super-hacker and invaluable computers expert for heroes everywhere. Batgirl made her debut Detective Comics #359 (January 1967), she was created by Gardner Fox and Carmine Infantino.
First Appearance

At age 13, Barbara's parents were tragically killed in an automobile accident. After the accident, her uncle, James Gordon and his wife (also named Barbara), adopted their orphaned niece.

At a young age, Barbara wanted to be a "super-hero", when she moved to Gotham she found her inspiration in Batman.

The young Barbara tried to learn as much as he can about the Batman. She trained hard physically and is equally committed academically.

She wanted to join the police academy and asked her cop father, James Gordon, but he just laughed and said that she did not even meet the height requirements. A little annoyed Barbara planned to crash The Gotham City Police Department's Million Dollar Masquerade Ball dressed up in a homemade "female" version of Batman's suit. Her plan took a slight turn when she arrived in the ball and costumed criminals took hostage the people present. Now Barbara Gordon has to step up and claim what she always dream of, being a superhero. Thus on that night Batgirl was born.

She would earn the trust of Batman, who revealed his secret identity to her as the millionaire Bruce Wayne. She would be sworn in by Batman to uphold justice and fight crime everywhere, making her dream of becoming bona fide superhero come true.

As Batgirl and working alongside the dynamic duo of Batman and Robin, Babs started to flirt with the younger vigilante, which later would turn into a budding romance.

Tragedy would strike Barbara Gordon, while in her civilian identity, Batman's deadliest enemy - The Joker showed up on her house and shot her. The bullet hit her spine and paralyzed her from the waist down.

For months, she was depressed knowing she could no longer be a costumed crime fighter, and then she realized that she could continue fighting crime in a different avenue. She devoted most of her time to developing one of the world's most complex and powerful computer systems and set to work accumulating information, she then took the name "Oracle."

As Oracle, Barbara needed operatives to do the legwork, so she founded the team Birds of Prey. She also serves as the information broker to costumed heroes throughout DCU.

With a recent major shake-up in the DC Universe, we would see Barbara Gordon up, running, wearing her old duds and returning as Batgirl.

ANIMATED APPEARANCE/S

The Adventures of Batman
Barbara Gordon, Batgirl, made her first animated appearance in the 1968 series The Adventures of Batman. Jane Webb provided her voice. Barbara Gordon, this time working in the District Attorney's office, made several appearances in both her civilian persona and as her alter ego.

The New Adventures of Batman
The Silver Age Batgirl was a recurring supporting character on the 1977 animated series The New Adventures of Batman. The animated version of Batgirl was very similar to her comic book counterpart, boasting a costume similar to the one seen in the comics, as well as a motorcycle.

Batman: The Animated Series
The character is introduced as Barbara Gordon in the first season of Batman: The Animated Series. In the second season Commissioner Gordon is framed for corruption. Barbara contacts Batman and asks him to appear at a rally to support Gordon, but Batman declines, citing more important things to do. Barbara Gordon decides to impersonate Batman, intending only to be seen in the shadows. However, later the back of her mask would be torn, causing her hair to spill out. Media articles the next day ask the question "Who is Batgirl?”

The New Batman Adventures
In The New Batman Adventures Tara Strong voiced Batgirl. Batgirl's costume was changed to a black body suit with yellow gloves and boots to match her original comic book design.

Batman Beyond
Barbara Gordon appears in Batman: Beyond, no longer the dashing beautiful vigilante she was in her youth but a grim, bitter old woman, voiced by Angie Harmon.

The Batman
Barbara Gordon, Batgirl, appeared on The Batman animated series, voiced by Danielle Judovits.

LIVE MEDIA APPEARANCE/S

Yvonne Craig
Yvonne Craig portrayed librarian Barbara Gordon, and her alter ego Batgirl, in the third season of the Batman television series (1967–1968). Her Batgirl costume incorporated a long red wig to hide her real avocado-style, black hair.

Alicia Silverstone
Batgirl is portrayed by actress Alicia Silverstone in the 1997 movie Batman & Robin. The film's "Barbara Wilson" somewhat resembles the comics' Barbara Gordon. In the movie, Barbara is the niece of Alfred Pennyworth rather than the daughter of Commissioner Gordon. Her costume varies significantly from traditional versions, with no yellow coloring and a domino mask.

Dina Meyer
Dina Meyer plays Barbara Gordon on the WB television series, Birds of Prey. The series was loosely based on the comic book of the same name. We see Gordon here in the role of Oracle, giving information to her two operatives. In some episodes, we see her in her Batgirl costume.

Comic Book History

Who is PENGUIN?
The Penguin is Oswald Cobblepot, intelligent, rich and sophisticated who puts up a gentlemanly front, but behind closed doors he is an angered, power hungry criminal. He shows flashes of compassion sometimes, but he is dominated by a desire to be respected and to control those around him. A DC Comics villain that occasionally turns up in Batman books. The Penguin was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, and made his debut in Detective Comics #58 (December 1941).
First Appearance

Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot was bullied as a child for his short stature, obesity, and beak-like nose. Born to a rich family but after the deaths of his parents, his wealth would be repossessed to pay their debts. Carrying the hurt he suffered during his childhood, Oswald began a life of crime but keeping with his family's tradition of wealth; he executes his capers with his class and style. In keeping with his pretensions of being a refined gentleman, he also prefers to wear formal wear such as a top hat, monocle, and tuxedo during his jobs. He also brought in his life of crime the childhood alias he got, the Penguin.

Nevertheless, a life of crime in Gotham City will later have you facing the Dark Knight detective. Penguin is one of Batman's oldest members of his rogue's gallery, and apparently one of the first few criminals during the golden age of comics who was able to escape the caped crusader's clutches. However, with several more entanglement with the Bat, he cannot get lucky that often and had done his fair share of time in Arkham Asylum.

Later the Penguin turns his attentions to a new modus operandi, operating as a white-collar criminal running a restaurant and casino known the Iceberg Lounge under the front of a legitimate businessman.

Penguin also made a play to control Gotham City's criminal underworld unfortunately for him someone else snatched that position from him.

Penguin would then find himself under the "employment" of Batman as an informant, using his criminal contacts to give Batman an edge over Gotham's criminals.

Penguin would also have a short stint with the superhero group "Birds of Prey" but this was more of charade as he was working with another villain who has an item he desires.

ANIMATED APPEARANCE/S

Adventures of Batman
The Penguin appeared in several episodes of Filmation's The Adventures of Batman animated series, which ran from 1968 to 1969. Ted Knight voices the Penguin here.

The New Adventures of Batman
In Filmation's series The New Adventures of Batman, the Penguin again made several appearances, and he is voiced by Lennie Weinrib. He frequently rolls his 'r's and laughs in a similar manner to his 1960's live portrayal counterpart.

The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians
The Penguin appeared in The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians episode "The Case of the Stolen Powers" voiced by Robert Morse. In the episode, Penguin accidentally gains Superman's superpowers, thanks to a magical mishap.

Batman: The Animated Series
In the 1992 Batman: Academy Award-winner Paul Williams voiced The Animated Series, Penguin. The look of this version of Penguin takes his cue from the recently released Batman Returns movie.

The New Batman Adventures
Paul Williams reprised his role as the Penguin in the 1997 follow-up to the original animated series, The New Batman Adventures, the Penguin returned to an appearance more like his traditional comic book look.

The Batman
Penguin appeared on the animated series: The Batman, voiced by Tom Kenny. In this continuity, the Penguin is primarily concerned with reestablishing the Cobblepot family name in society by stealing from the citizens of Gotham to rebuild his wealth. This Penguin has a deformed appearance, with red hair instead of black and more crooked teeth.

The Brave and the Bold
The Penguin is featured in The Brave and the Bold and is voiced by Stephen Root.

Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman
Penguin appeared in the animated movie, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman as the main villain, this time voiced by David Ogden Stiers.

The Batman vs. Dracula
Tom Kenny reprises voicing the Penguin in the animated movie The Batman vs. Dracula. In the movie, he accidentally resurrects Count Dracula with his blood in the Gotham cemetery. Dracula then hypnotizes the Penguin to work for him.

LIVE MEDIA APPEARANCE/S

Burgess Meredith
Burgess Meredith played the Penguin in several episodes of the Batman television series of the 1960s. A largely campy interpretation, Meredith's performance is perhaps best remembered through his signature laugh, meant to mimic the squawk of a penguin. He reprises his Penguin role in the 1966 film entitled "Batman" alongside several other villains from the television show

Danny DeVito
In Batman Returns, the Penguin was portrayed by Danny DeVito, and is one of the main antagonists of the film. Director Tim Burton re-imagined the character not as an eloquent gentleman of crime, but a physically deformed murdering psychopath with a homicidal grudge against Gotham City.

Comic Book History

Who is POISON IVY?
Poison Ivy is a DC Comics super-villain and eco-terrorist with the ability to control plants. She originally was botanist Pamela Isley until an accident gave her powers and turned her insane. Protecting the sanctity and supremacy of nature at all costs, she sadistically lashes out against humanity as blight upon the planet. Robert Kanigher and Sheldon Moldoff, first appearing in Batman #181, created Poison Ivy. (1966)
First Appearance

Pamela Isley grew up wealthy with emotionally distant parents. She studied advanced botanical biochemistry. Her professor, who injects Isley with poisons and toxins as an experiment, causing her transformation, easily seduces Isley, a timid, shy girl. She nearly dies twice as a result from these poisonings, driving her insane. Enraged at the betrayal, she suffers from violent mood swings, being sweet one moment and evil the next.

She turned to a life of crime by threatening people with her newfound ability of controlling plant-life, her poison touch, and the ability to make individuals to do her bidding due to the pheromones she releases.

On their first meeting, Batman was able to resist Poison Ivy and thwart her schemes, which led her to be incarcerated in Arkham Asylum. Batman's resistance to her lead to some kind of obsession to Poison Ivy.

Although she would later escape the asylum, but with her frequent tussle with Batman, she always find herself back behind bars.

After another escape from Arkham, she decided to leave Gotham and settle on a desert island in the Caribbean. She molded the barren wasteland into a second Eden, and was, for the first time in her life, happy. However, the island was soon firebombed by an American-owned corporation that tested their weapons systems in Ivy's island which they thought was uninhabited. Ivy then returned to Gotham with vengeance on her mind, punishing those responsible. After willing apprehension by Batman, she resolved that she could never leave Gotham, at least not until the world was safe for plants. From then on, she dedicated herself to the impossible mission of purifying the most polluted city in America, Gotham City.

Poison Ivy is good friends with Harley Quinn. Unlike most villain team-ups, their partnership seems to be genuinely rooted in friendship, and Ivy really wants to save Harley from her abusive relationship with The Joker.

Recently the duo added a third for their group, Catwoman, and they became known as the Gotham Sirens.

ANIMATED APPEARANCE/S
Batman: The Animated Series
The animated series introduces Poison Ivy as a botanist who works for a cosmetics company developing new fragrances. When she sees then DA Harvey Dent destroy an endangered plant during the groundbreaking ceremony for Stone Gate Prison, he becomes the first object of her evil affections. After almost killing Dent with her poisonous lipstick, she is apprehended by Batman. This incident with Dent causes a great rift between Ivy and Two Face, who has a great animosity toward her. She is known to have an occasional partnership/friendship with Harley Quinn. She is not liked by the various members of the rogues gallery, but is greatly respected.

The New Batman Adventures
In The New Batman Adventures, her look was updated to be more plant-like, her skin turning grayish-white. Ivy also became more humorous and seductive in personality, coinciding with her genuinely friendly relationship with Harley Quinn. Her fanatical mindset regarding the despoiling of plants and the ecosphere was also greatly reduced. She supposedly dies in a shipwreck in the episode "Chemistry".

Static Shock
She survived the shipwreck and returns in the Static Shock episode "Hard As Nails" with Diane Pershing reprising her role. She and Harley open a "support and cure" website that would lure female metahumans to Gotham claiming that it is a clinic to cure metahumans.

The Batman
Piera Coppola voiced Poison Ivy in The Batman animated TV show. In this incarnation, Poison Ivy is a high school student and environmental activist, but she was also Barbara Gordon's best friend. Prior to her first appearance, she was sentenced to a youth detention center repeatedly for delinquent acts during her protests. During one of her acts of protest, a plant mutagen falls on her, when she awoke in an ambulance afterwards she began manifesting powers of psionic plant control, and an ability to exhale mind-controlling spores when she blows a kiss at her desired target. She swiftly turns her powers to furthering her ecoterrorist career, and takes the name Poison Ivy.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold
Poison Ivy appears in the Batman: The Brave and the Bold, in this series Ivy appears among other villains in an auction for a supersonic weapon held by arms dealer Joe Chill. Poison Ivy later appears in the teaser of "The Mask of Matches Malone!". She and her army of henchwomen (whom she dubs her "Flower Children") kidnap Batman, and Ivy tries to seduce him into becoming her king.

LIVE MEDIA APPEARANCE/S

UMA THURMAN
Uma Thurman played Poison Ivy in the film Batman & Robin. This version of Poison Ivy started out as Dr. Pamela Isley, botanist, working for Wayne Enterprises' arboreal preservation project. She was conducting animal-plant crossbreeding experiments when a superior attacked her, leading her to crash to shelves lined with beakers containing plant-based toxins and chemicals. Her aggressor throws more of the same stuffs upon her, hoping that she will die upon being infused with so many plant toxins and chemicals; instead, Pamela is unwittingly transformed into a stunningly beautiful woman who is part human, part plant, and totally poisonous.

POWERS & ABILITIES
Note: Due to the nature of comicbooks being an on-going tale, the character's powers along with his appearance, is in a constant state of flux.

Chlorokinesis: Semi-mystical connection to the plant world through a force called the Green. She can control plants with her mind.

Toxic Immunity: Immunity to all toxins, bacteria, and viruses

Toxikinesis: a deliberate overdose of plant and animal based toxins into her blood stream that make her touch deadly. Ivy can create the most potently powerful floral toxins in Gotham City. Often these are secreted from her lips and administered via a kiss. They come in a number of varieties, from mind controlling drugs to instantly fatal necrotics. Her skin is toxic as well, although contact with it is usually not fatal.

Pheromone Control: Ivy is known to be able to seduce men and women alike, often using pheromones to do so but even without the pheromones, her beauty is still an asset that can seduce.

Abilities
Botanist: Expertise in botany. She specializes in creating new plant species and plant/animal hybrids

Toxicologist: expert in toxicology.

Proficient Combatant: Poison Ivy's athletic abilities have grown over the course of her career. She has learned a limited style of martial arts fighting, is proficient at climbing and leaping, and is a strong and fast swimmer.
