I've been back in Alabama for about 2 weeks and back in classes since last week. I've been getting all settled back in so there haven't been any posts! I know I promised to get back into my regular posting and I will...as soon as it's cool enough to actually wear normal clothes. It's been so hot that I can't wear anything cute because I just sweat all day (not to mention the sprinting I have to do just to get to classes on time). Today is my dad's election for district chairman in our area, so I bought out my new dress from F21 (: Once again here's the tribal/90's print trend coming in & they're kind of my favorites of the moment (if you haven't noticed...) Today was a sick day, but I JUST threw myself together to get dinner and then work a little later. Here's my Tobi shirt, these chiffon shirts are super in & great for summer. They're flowy, so easy to throw on & make any outfit uber cute! These earrings were kind of a throwback for me, because my mom had some I used to wear in middle school but they were elephants. Today I'm not feeling so hot, but I've got to meet w/ a friend and babysit all day after...so I had to pull myself together. You already know Maxi's are my go-to, and why not? Here's another way of wearing crop-tops -- layering them over dresses! I have no idea why maxi dresses are popular in warmer weather (seems like it should be the opposite) but I love them! They're my summer go-tos (: and layering a cute crop-top over your favorite maxi makes for a whole new look! I searched for my sandals so that I could put a link up here for yall, but apparently they don't make them anymore? I searched DSW & Steve Madden and no one had them, which is a shame because they're the most comfortable ones I've ever owned! Boots, Bangs & Baubles

I'm in love with all things nautical. Little anchor appliques, stripes, navy, red, you name it. These long, dripping jeweled, statement necklaces are all the rage. There are people on Etsy making their own versions of the JCrew necklace that started it all, but I opted for the cheaper version from H&M. I love my belts, but all of the ones I tried just had something a little off, so I took a navy ribbon belt from a shirt-dress I have! Now I'm a southern girl, my family's from Texas and I got to school in Alabama, so I LOVE my cowboy boots. I wear them with jeans, shorts and dresses...and they just add a little "umph" to any outfit. I think it's obvious I've become obsessed with that lace crop-top I posted last week. I told yall I bought two, and here's the black one. I think this top makes any outfit instantly chic, I get loads of compliments whenever I wear it and girls tell me they're envious of my style. In case you haven't noticed, high-waisted jean shorts are coming back into style. Now I'm a curvy girl, but I'm not gonna shy away from some styles I want to try just because of that! Loving this new top I literally just got in the mail from Tobi (I can't find it online anymore) and my shorts are from Urban Outfitters! Let's talk celebs. I'm probably the biggest follower of all celeb news, I love to know the latest, be in on what's going on, who's wearing who, and who's dating who. Now every year DC has a fantastic celeb filled event called the White House Correspondents Dinner and everyone who's anyone is always there. This year I was less than thrilled with most of the outfits that I saw, so let's take a peek. These are listed in order from least favorite to best dressed (for me).

I hit the jackpot at F21 yesterday, this lace crop-top is the EPITOME of Spring/Summer 2012! It was such a steal that I got it in black & cream (: They also had cute bandeaus (which are so hard to find) for $3!!! So I snagged one for under tanks or my crop-tops! Love love love this outfit & I got a purple flower print skirt for my black lace shirt. Super excited to show yall soon! Everything I'm wearing is from F21, except my Steve Madden sandals. "What goes around, comes around" is definitely the case with fashion right now. And the queen of the 90's, none other than Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Amber Thiessen) from Saved By The Bell, is the perfect example. Crop tops, bandeaus, high-waisted pants and floral jeans galore...dig 'em out from your closets cause they're baaaack! Now, being a child growing up in the 90's, obviously all of my old clothes are way too little for me so I'll have to do my vintage shopping elsewhere. It's actually a little scary to me just how many things from the 80's and 90's are coming back into fashion right now. Neon, oversized clothes with leggings, sportswear, and the swimsuit hybrid to name a few.

So I'm a little lax on the outfit of the day thing because I've gotten back into my work out routine so when I'm at work I'm doing some Pilates and then hitting up the gym straight after. So I promise I'll load up this weekend on lots of my new outfits (: But this package from Sephora literally JUST came in the mail & I'm super stoked! I got the new Smashbox BB Cream, Urban Decay Lip Junkie lip gloss & Soap & Glory Lotion. Bb Cream is the newest thing in makeup & came over here from Asia! It's supposed to perfect, prime, protect, conceal, moisturize ANNND control oil! I'm so excited to try this for the summer instead of wearing my full foundation! It also has 35 SPF so it's a summer must-have! Now the lip gloss I got a mini trial size with my Naked 2 palette & it's minty and never stays sticky after it wears off! I have oily skin & I read about the Soap & Glory lotion in Seventeen Magazine so I decided to try it! It's supposed to absorb the ioil underneath your makeup to keep you shine free! Getting Thrifty

Like I mentioned in my long-winded post, my friend Whitney was in town & we got a little crafty! Her blog is awesome & she has tons of DIY projects (RootedinHisgrace.blogspot)! So we went to Habitat for Humanity & found this great cabinet for my apartment in Auburn, that would be perfect above my toilet! We got it for $15 when one like it would've been close to $100 in regular stores. This whole project costed $15 because her family already had the perfect black paint! It's not totally finished, we're going to put wallpaper on the inside & then I'll hang some hooks for my styling tools inside! So here's some pictures from my weekend (: xoxo KG

Easter.

Easter is always a great service at my church & it's always been one of my favorites. This Easter, however, was bittersweet...we lost our church to the Episcopal so we'll have to leave the building soon. I won't get bogged down with all the details, but it was hard to say the least. So I had a fabbbulous weekend because my best friend I've known since freshman year of high school was home for 2 days! One of our favorite things to do together is get crafty, so we hit up Habitat for Humanity & random thrift stores! I'll save that for the next post but here's my Easter outfit, Cynthia Rowley dress, Nordstrom Rack sweater!
