<description>   	The Accounts Payable (AP) Manager will lead the overall day-to-day operations for Accounts Payable, including management of personnel and resources. The AP Department scope includes, but is not limited to, processing purchase orders and invoices and subcontractor and consultant payments, oversight of expense reimbursements using an automated system, electronic payments, sales and use tax compliance and filing, issue resolution, vendor analysis, vendor maintenance and timely and accurate disbursements. The AP Manager will drive continuous improvement through process metrics monitoring and work flow, and will ensure excellent service with both internal and external customers.      	  The qualified candidate must possess strong leadership and communication skills, be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, have a customer service orientation, and be f    amiliar with standard practices and accounting procedures in the government contracting arena.          	   Essential Job Functions:         	  Direct and coordinate all AP activities and daily problem resolution in the following areas: vouchers, sales/use tax, corporate cred card reconciation, vendor payments, and 1099 reportable activities.        	  Work with the Accounting Manager each month to identify required expense accruals.        	  Train and develop AP personnel to perform at a high rate of accuracy and productivity.        	  Train and develop AP personnel in the application of FAR Cost Principles and other relevant government contracting regulations.        	  Provide training to AP personnel and other functional areas as required in the application of state-specific sales and use tax rules.        	  Assist with internal and external audit requests.        	   Required Skills:         	  Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.        	  Six years of AP management experience required.        	  Background should include 10 or more years AP experience.         	  A minimum of five or more years experience working in the government contracting industry.         	  Ability to use accounting software, proficient in the use of Microsoft excel, and excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
