Bridal Shower Gifts

Here is a matching card and box I made for my future sister-in-law's bridal shower. I can't wait to give them to her.

I made the box base with the white paper backing that comes with the Designer Series Paper packages. I stamped the box after I figure the measurement for the box. I stamped on the shiny side of the white paper thinking that it will look better but I used the wrong ink. I used classic ink instead of StazOn ink. The images keeps on smudging everytime I touch the box. sigh! Hope you learn a lesson here from my mistake.

The rose is made using an Ornament Punch. Here is a link to the rose if you are interest in making it.

The image on the card is from the She's All That stamp set (retired). Haven't use this set for a long time. i had to brush of the dust before I use it. ha,ha!

Here's what is inside the box. I crochet 2 dish towels and a tea towel topper. Something for her to use in her home.

Sailboat Happy Birthday

Good day everyone! Another card for my sister. This is a masculine birthday card. What do you think of this one? I'm not very good at making a masculine card. I always have to think a long time to make one of these cards.

I use the Winds of Grace stamp set for this card. The stamp set is retired. I'm glad I got because I really like it and I don't have a lot of masculine stamp sets. I tend to order the flowery ones first before any other sets. The card is really simple so not much to say about it. Pretty much self explanatory.

I still have girly cards to make and this is another kind of card I rarely make too. I have think, think, think. I'm thinking about making cards with cupcakes on it or something like that. Well, I'm off to make them. Will show you all what I come up with.

For The Teacher

Hello, everyone! Hope you're having a good day so far.

Here is a box and card set I made for my daughter's flute teacher.

I made the box base with a 12" x 12" Chocolate Chip card stock and the lid with an 8-1/2" x 8-1/2" Bajah Breeze card stock.

I die cut the flower with the Fun Flowers Die in Bajah Breeze card stock, emboss it with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and then sponge the edges. I adhere the flower with Dimensional. Then I add a Rose Red rose in the middle of the flower.

Here is a matching card. The flower is done with the Blossom Punch. I find the other flower on the box is too big so I use the punch flower instead.

I did the flower the same way as the one on the box.

Here is what is inside the box. I crochet a couple of dish cloths for the teacher. My first time crocheting them.

I made the box and card according to the dish cloths colours. It is so nice that everything matches.

With Sympathy

Happy Monday everyone! Here is another card for my sister. She wants some sympathy cards. This is what I come up with. I punched two flowers using the Blossom Punch. The punch can be found in the 2012 Occasion Mini Catalogue. Then I put the punched flowers in the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and run it through the Big Shot. sponge the edges of the flowers them adhere them onto the card with Dimensional. The blue background image on the card is the Fine Lace background stamp that is retired. I like it a lot even though it is retired. The pink piece at the bottom of the card is the Lace Ribbon Border Punch. I just stick it under the Designer Series Paper. The rest of the card is pretty much self explanatory.

I'm off to make some more samples for my sister. She'll have a lot to choose from.

Happy Retirement

Hello, everyone! It is good to be stamping again. I think it's been a month I've not stamp. That's a long time for me.

Before I got sick my sister asked me to make her different occasions cards. This card is one of the ones she want me to make. I've never make a retirement card before. Something I don't really think of making either.

I use the FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp set Fresh Vintage that I got with my order. I really like the flowers and the swirls on this stamp. I'm not sure what to do with the other stamps in this set yet but I'm sure I'll think of something. Have you gotten any of the SAB sets this year yet? You only have one more week left to get it for FREE. Sale-A-Bration ends March 31, 2012. Can you believe March is almost over?

Well, I'm off to make other occasion cards for my sister to look at. She'll have a few different ones to choose from.

I'm Still Here

I don't have a project to show you today. Just want to let you all know I'm still around. I have been really sick for the past two weeks. Busy the week before that. I got the flu that kept me in bed and on the couch most of the time. My back hurt from laying around and sleeps so much. I watched a lot of TV which it was a waste of time. I rather be creating than watch TV.

My church had our annual Revival Meeting with Dr. John Goetsch last week and I missed two nights of the meeting because I was sick. Although I can watch the service on our church website, I rather listen to Dr. Goetsch in person. I have been listening to him speak for our revival meetings since 2001 and never missed a service until this year. I was able to listen to him the last day he was here. I went to church and also sang in the choir. How was I able to do that while I was still sick? By God's grace of course. I can never do that on my own. Something I needed to hear that day and I'm glad I went. I was so tired I dropped onto the couch right away when I got home. It was all worth it though.

Tea For Two

Happy Monday! Do you love tea? I sure do. I received a big box of specialty tea from a friend for Christmas and I can not wait to invite a friend over to have tea with me. I'm with my kids everyday and to have an adult company with me in the day time would be nice. How do I schedule that in to my busy schedule? (sigh!)

Anyway, onto my card. I made this card using the Tea Shoppe stamp set. I use the Paper Doily Die for the background and the Labels Collection Framelits Die for the sentiment. I cut the middle of the doily to get the flower behind the sentiment framelit die piece. This gives me two doily pieces from one doily piece. Isn't that cool? The middle of the bigger doily is hidden from the yellow designer paper so you wont even know that I cut the middle out if I have not told you what I did to it.

Tea Shoppe Card

Today's card has a pocket in the front that holds a tea bag. The recipient can enjoy a cup of tea from you. I fell in love with the Tea Shoppe stamp set in the Occasion mini the minute I saw it. The big tea cup and the little trio tea cups are so pretty. I have something in mind I want to make with this stamp set but time is not allowing me to do it.

I added the Paper Doily Die just under the tea cup. Pretty doily. I added some jewels to the cup and the sentiment. I love those shiny bling.

You can see here in this picture of the tea bag slightly taken out of the pocket. While I was writing this post a thought came to me. I can make a tag or bookmark and put it inside the pocket. What a great idea! I think I shall do that for my next project.

Party Favour Bag and Birthday Cards

Happy Wednesday everyone! My son loves angry birds so I made him party favour bag to give to his friends. I stamped one side of the natural linen bags and one side I glued felted angry bird. I die cut the circles but the little pieces I had to cut them free hand. No pattern to those parts.

I also made an angry birds birthday card for him. He loved it so much I got a huge long hug from. I don't get many hugs from him anymore so I really cherish this one.

These birds are made from Stampin'Up! punches. Except the eyes, eye brows and the feathers on the heads. I had to cut them out free hand.

My two daughters made this card for their brother. They are so cute. They got inspired after seeing the card that I made for their brother. Those cottons are eggs. Are they big eggs or what? lol

Here is the inside of the card. My littlest one was so excited she drew many things inside the cards. She would have filled the inside with many drawings if I didn't stop her.

Happy Birthday Jarod!

13 years ago God blessed my husband and I with a baby boy. He was a tiny little one born at 5 lbs 1oz. Now he is taller than me. The picture above was taken when he was 7 years old. He love boxes. Everytime I get an order of Stampin'Up! products he would say "Can I play with the box?" I let him of course and this was what he did. He sat in it and played his games. So cute! I just had to take a picture of him. I tried to get him to sit in the same size box for me to take a picture and he said "no". Teenager. Too embarrass now to do such thing.

This is him now. In Sept. he will be in the teen class at church. There is no one same age as him. Most of his friends are older than him so he can't wait to be in the same class and to go to the teen activities with them.

Valentine Milk Carton Favours

Good day stampers. Last week I made some milk carton favours for my kids to give to their friends at church. My Pastor and his wife watched our children and other couple's children so that we can go out on a date on Valentine's Day. What a blessing they are! My youngest (5 years old) was in charge of making sure every kids get one. She did a great job at it and love doing it too.

My first time using Stampin'Up! Milk Carton die. Had it for awhile but could not think of what to do with it. I filled each carton with Maynard's candies. They kids all loved the favour boxes and the candies of course.

Altered Soup Can and Paper Flowers

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day yesterday. My husband cooked a delicious surf and turf dinner for Valentine's Day. He was so amazing! He made shrimp, scallop, fish and potato soup and oyster for appetizer and lobster, fish and steak with vegetables for the main course. It was so yummy! I was so stuff I couldn't move after that. Thank you honey for the wonderful Valentine's Day dinner!

A few weeks ago a 10 years old girl came up to me and asked me to make some decorations for a going away party. It took me awhile to figure out what to make for her since she didn't have any idea what she wants.

I altered a soup can by covering it with pattern paper. I went looking for all the pink/red pattern papers that I have. I have quite a stash of pattern papers that I have not use for a long time. Now they are all gone after making these flowers. I made 12 of these flowers and altered 4 cans. I also shredded the pattern papers and then crimped them and put them in the cans. This helps the flowers to stay put inside the can.

I die cut the flowers with the Fun Flowers Die, tape them together by threes and then curled the ends. Sandwich two flowers together with a skewer in the middle as a stem.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hope you all are having a wonderful Valentine's Day.

My attempt at making a huge chocolate chip cookie heart today for my Valentine. It was so big that it couldn't fit onto the plate. I had to cut it down to fit it.

I've never done this for my husband before but this year I decided to decorate the table for Valentine's Day. My baby girl decorated the centre piece. I just gave her the stuff and she puts them together. The two older ones set up the table. My kids and I surprised their daddy when he got home for lunch. He was late and the kids got all hungry.

I also made toasts with an egg heart in the middle. Didn't turn out the way I wanted them too but it tasted good anyhow.

Here is a picture of how big the cookie was even after it is trimmed. My husband is going to have fun eating it.

Valentine Diaper Folding Pouches

Good day everyone! Welcome to rainy Vancouver. I'm glad to be inside with my kiddies while they do school work. Being a stay-at-home mom is so great. Although my youngest is taking forever to do her school work. She talks more than do her work so 2 hours of work end up to be 4 hours. Gotta love her though. She's the entertainer of our home. Our house would've been very quiet if it wasn't for her. Most of the stuff she says are funny.

Well, onto my creations for today. I made two diaper fold pouches for Valentine but they can be for any occasions. I used a 6" x 6" designer paper to make the pouch.

The pouches are mounted on the rosettes or accordion flowers. You can see the tutorial here on how to make the flower.

I added a flower to the front of each pouches. The flower is the new Blossom punch in the Occasion Mini.

I was able to fit two little heart cookies inside each pouches. I might make some of these for my kiddies to give to their friends if time permits. They will be filled with candies instead.

Good day stampers! I'm so glad it is Friday. That means weekend is here.

I made this card (about 10) for a lady at church. At least once a year she order cards from me. She wanted "thank you" cards this time. She used to stamp but too busy now to do it.

Yes, another card that uses the Apothecary Art stamp set and the Label Occasion Framelit die. They are my new favourite things from the Occasion Mini catalogue. It is a very simple card to make yet beautiful. I love blue colour so that's the colour for her cards since she have preference on how the card should look like. Hope she like it.

Flowery Congratulations Wedding Card

Happy Thursday everyone! Here is another wedding card I made using the Apothecary Art stamp set and the Labels Collection Framelit Die. Both items are in the Occasion Mini catalogue.

I used markers and a blender pen to colour the flowers and leaves. I added small half pearls to the four corners and two big half pearls around the word "congratulations" for some bling. I did the ribbon only a quarter of the way at the top left corner of the card. Very easy to do and uses less ribbon and looks nice at the same time.

Apothecary Art Congratulations Card

Happy Monday everyone! I made this card for my MIL. She needed a wedding card for her friend's wedding. I can't use any black so this one is red and pink. So much like a Valentine card.

I used the new Apothecary Art stamp set from the Occasion Mini. Such a hard name to pronounce. I can not seem to say it right. I also used the new Labels Collection Framelit Die from the Occasion Mini. Oooh! I love this die. Oh! and the stamp set too of course. There are pearls on the flowers but you it is hard to see in the picture.

Baby Shower For Myles

Hello, there. Happy Friday. Today's projects are decorations for a baby shower tonight. I decorated the place last night. I'm not able to make it to the shower so the pictures only show the things I made. No food or gifts on the table. It would be nice to have those things on the table so it doesn't look so bare.

It is a shower for my Pastor's grandson. He is 3 weeks old today. I did a little banner for the front of the food table and the drink table (no pic of the drink table). I used the Special Delivery Boy DSP (retired) for all the decorations.

I made a 3 tier cake and decorated with sailboats, ribbons and anchors. Topped the cake off with a folded sailboat filled with candies.

Valentine Heart Treat Box and Card Tutorial

Today is my birthday. Since it is a special day I thought I share a FREE tutorial with you. I finally finish it. It is very lengthy. Hope like it.

I use the Petal Cone Die die cut pieces to make the box. Sorry, I don't have a template for this box. I'm offering a pre-cut petal cone die cut pieces in a package for those who wants to make the box but have no die.You can purchase it here.

Valentine Heart Treat Box and Card Tutorial

Materials:
(4) 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card stock
1-1/2" x 9-1/2" card stock
1-1/2" x 9 card stock
Stamp
Petal Cone Die
Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
Paper Trimmer with Scoring Blade
12" Ribbon
Slot Punch or Crop-A-Dile
Sticky Strip

1.Die cut the (4) 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card stock using the Petal Cone die. Picture above shows the pieces you'll need for this project. Set the 1 petal piece, the 2 half scallop circles and the banner aside.

2.Cut off the flaps of 3 of the petal cone die pieces. Set one petal piece aside.

3.Draw a line about 1/4" from edge all around one of the petal piece using a ruler and pencil.

4.Cut around the drawn line. This will be the inside of the box base.

5.Use the inside box base and lightly trace around onto another petal piece. This will be the box base. Set aside.

6.Stamp the 1-1/2" x 9-1/2" card stock and the 1-1/2" x 9 card stock pieces. These will be the box sides.

7.Score 1/2" on the long side of both pieces and 1/2" on the short side for both ends of the longer piece. The 1/2" scored parts will be the flaps for assembling the box.

8.Add sticky strip on the flaps of both pieces of card stock. Cut the corners of the longer pieces as shown in picture above.

9.Working with the longer piece of card stock first. With the flap at the bottom, lay the card stock onto a ruler, starting cutting on the flap part at 4" and then cut every 1/4" after that all way to the other end of the card stock. The picture shows the cutting point.

10.Now work with the shorter piece of card stock. With the sticky strip at the top, lay the card stock onto a ruler, starting cutting on the flap part at 4" and then cut every 1/4" after that all way to the other end of the card stock.

11.This is how the 2 card stock looks like when you finish cutting the flaps.

12.Join the ends together making sure the 4" parts meet and the parts with the little 1/4" flaps meet. Snip at an angle on the part where the end of both 4" part meets.

13.This is how the box side looks like after they are joined. The "V" part will be the bottom of the box and the rounded part is the top of the box.

14.Punch a hole about 3" up from the bottom "V" of the box side using the Slot punch or the Crop-A-Dile before assembling the box side to the box base. The picture show the side already assemble to the base but it is harder to punch a hole this way. Trust me I know. It is easier to punch a hole before assembling the side to the base.

15.Assemble the box sides at the "V" first up to before the heart curves.

16.This is how the box side looks like after assembling the "V" part.

17.Now assemble the top of the box. Stick down the part where the 2 pieces of card stock meets first and then work with the 1/4" flaps pieces last.

18.Cover the inside of the box with the inside box base piece that was work on earlier. Now you have a heart box. Set aside.

19.Now take the last petal piece and emboss it or stamp on it. I emboss mine. You can see the stamped one here.

20.Add sticky strip on the other side of the flap.

21.Adhere the embossed or stamped petal piece onto the petal piece with the flap cut off earlier.

22.Open up the joined petal pieces and stamped the inside. This will the card and lid of the box.

23.Cut the banner in half, score about 1" on both pieces and then add sticky strips.

24.Adhere the 2 banner pieces onto the back side of the card as shown in picture above.

25.Adhere the lid to the box. Make sure everything is line up.

26.Punch holes on the lid.

27.Tie the 12" ribbon through the hole and decorate the box. Enjoy!

Bird Birthday Card

I made this card for my friend's daughter's birthday. She just turned 13. She a teenager now, very well behave and a very sweet girl too. She's very talented and writes beautiful poems just like her mom.

Do you recognize the silver top note die piece? It was the left over place setting card from the Ladies' Christmas Tea back in December. I only need one of those for scrapbooking. I use it to make a card. I don't throw away anything that is worth using again. Although my pile of "keep it and use it later" is getting rather large. My husband did suggested to throw some away. Yeah, right. I don't think so. That will never happen. lol My husband is so sweet though. He lets me craft whenever I want. He's so wonderful.
