New upcoming project

2010-12-15T19:06:00.001-08:00

So i read an article that says, that in order to grow as a designer, one needs to design at least one piece of work a day... so I am going to dedicate at least a couple minutes each day to make something. I actually began last week, and made some designs for some quotes.... but kinda stopped. So, I am going to attempt to try this project one more time, and actually stick to it.

here; are to examples of the ones i worked on last week.

Enjoy&share

Arizona Work

2010-04-29T00:45:00.000-07:00

So these past couple days people have been talking a lot about the new law that just got passed in Arizona, but prior to that people were trying to get the word out, they even made a website altoarizona.com which informed people of the bill before it became a law and also was taking poster submissions by artist, so that people can be informed about it, and also help spread the word about what is going on.

I believed very strongly that the bill was wrong in so many ways, and I decided to make a poster, that caught peoples attention, and sent some type of message as well:

to my surprise, it was embraced by many, and it was even used for other blogs, such as:
RaceWire
Aware-LA
as well as the
Alto Arizona page

After this... the e-magazine I'm working with published a list of new State Slogans that would fit with Arizona.
And i made the Following:

Which you can view the full article at:
Puro Pedo magazine

Just for kicks.

So here, are some images I made, just for fun.

and here's a picture of my new dog. Well I've had him for about 2 months, he's 3 months old, and he's a labrador retriever mixed (we were guessing maybe rottweiler and pitbull?) anyone
out there that knows about dogs maybe can help me figure it out?

Help heal Haiti

Forgot to post this second flyer I made for a benefit.

Here's the final product:

and where it started:

Bumpits For Men

2010-03-26T20:20:00.001-07:00

A while back, I had this Idea about this damn bumpits product, but changing the target market a bit.
I figured there are a couple guys that have these pretty wild pompadours, and I thought, why not make it easy for them to style their head-ramps and make this product accessible to them as well. So I present to you: bumpits (For men)

here are the images I used to make the product packaging come together:

Poll time: need a dog name

2010-02-18T00:56:00.000-08:00

So here is a poll, to help me narrow down the name for my dog.
If it helps... keep in mind that he is a mixed-labrador retriever
and he is all black (male).

Charlie Chaplin piece: HOLD/SOLD

2010-02-08T02:40:00.000-08:00

So, I made this piece about/for Charlie Chaplin, and displayed it at the Verdugo bar. If you look closely, it is made by using original scanned script pages from "City Lights". It became one of my favorite pieces, and it's been put on hold for a buyer. Also, the Wolfmation was sold, that night. =]

well, here's it is:

thats the digital, and here's the printed one in the frame:

and here's a close up to see the detail:

Helping Haiti....

2010-02-08T02:35:00.000-08:00

Because we're not the only one's out there, and people need help. So here's a flyer i made for a open mic event, that will/might become a silkscreened poster, which will be sold with other posters, by other artist, and some of the money will be donated to a charity. I will update more about this, as i figure things out.
But here's the flyer:

If you're able to attend the event and donate anything that you can, that would work as well. I know its tough times right now, but anything is better than nothing.

AACG polished logo

2009-12-17T18:56:00.000-08:00

So, a while back, while in school i had an assignment where i had to look for an old logo, that looked outdated, and i had to make it look new and fresh. Plus! it had to belong to non-profit organization. so i looked around and found AACG; American Association for Crystal Growth.
These guys, are basically a community that gets together and discusses the ways and problems of growing crystals, mainly for scientific reasons. So, i went ahead and took the whole idea of crystals growing out of the logo, and i went with that, while at the same time trying to incorporate all the letters in the middle. so here you see the old logo they had and the new logo i finally came up with. Once it was turned in i was okay with it, but 2 years later i worked on it some more and made it even more sleek looking. I also took a look at my old illustrator files.... wow! they were a mess. groups of things that shouldn't have needed to be grouped and stuff like that, haha no merging of shapes... at all. haha but anyways, today i went to the website after my gf had told me several times tat i should try to contact them and show them the finished product. So i got their e-mail and told them part of the whole story, and basically told them that i re-did their logo and they can be free to use it, if they like it.

So now.... what you've been waiting for, haha... here it is:

so now i wait and see if they even like it, but since i actually went through with it, i thought i would post it. haha. Cross your fingers

These are the 3 backs put together.

And here is the logo, letterhead, envelope, and a generic business card.
