If you go to wrong location, then your vote will be consider as invalid. So, you should check through online web portal checking or by sms.

First-time Deaf Voters: How to VOTE in 13th General Elections @ Malaysia?

I posted this infographic to help you as 1st Deaf voters get to understand so easily.

Step 1. You show your original MyKad - identity card number and print a hard copy of voter registration or save it on your smartphone from daftarj.spr.gov.my.

Step 2. When you enter the polling station, your left hand finger will get a mark with indelible ink.(The ink cannot washed off or removed for 3 days, mean you cannot vote again)

Step 3. You get ballet papers from the officer, then you mark "X" on your voting booth.

Step 4. When you are done, you will walk to ballot box and put the ballet papers into a ballot box, DONE!

GE13: Prime Minister announces 13th General Election.

The time we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has confirmed the dissolution of Parliament on a press conference televised live on national TV on April 3, 2013.

He announced that the King has consented to dissolution of Parliament on Wednesday, giving green light to the 13th General Election.

The Election Commission (EC) is expected to meet soon to set the dates for nomination and polling, and Najib has advised all state governments (except for Negeri Sembilan and Sarawak) to dissolve their respective state legislative assemblies to allow for the state elections to be held simultaneously with the general election.

Malaysian General Election 2013: Voting for Newbies

It seems like we’ve been hearing talk about the next General Election for the longest time – but word is that it won’t be long now so it’s best to be prepared for it to happen anytime soon.

Regardless of who you are voting for, if this is the first year that you will be going to the polls – here is a quick guide for all you Election Newbies (we know it can be a little daunting)!

Find out where your polling station is located through the Election Commission (EC) website. Alternatively, there is also an SMS service where you can text in your identity card number and your voting centre will be SMSed back to you. Type SPRSEMAKIC Number and send to 15888. (Example – Type: SPR SEMAK 811111075757 and send to 15888)
Polling is from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm at most polling centres – so wake up early and don’t leave it till the last minute. However, in certain remote areas, the EC allows polling to start later and close earlier.
Bring your MyKad! Other valid documents you can use include your Malaysian passport, driving license, or an official identity card issued by any government authority which contains your photograph, full name, and identity card number.
As soon as you enter the polling station, your hands will be checked for indelible ink to fully ensure you are not voting for the second time. However, this is a rare occurrence as Malaysian IC numbers in itself are unique and cannot be duplicated.
The agent on duty will then find your registered name and read out your IC number, before issuing you a ballot paper. Head to the voting booth, select your candidate of choice, and place it into the box. If state elections are held simultaneously with the general election, you will be given two ballot papers and there will be two ballot boxes.
Congratulations, you have now exercised your right as a Malaysian citizen! Go have a teh tarik and share your experience with friends , or you may wait at the tallying centre to await the results which will be shown on large screens.

Disabled Driving License and Renewal Only RM2 year in Malaysia!

From May 1, 2013, the license fees for the car (RM30/year) and motorcycle (RM20/year) were also reduced from RM30 to RM2 per year.

Further reducing living costs for the disabled, Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha announced that driving test fees that used to cost RM10 have now been completely waived.

Good news for all Deaf Malaysian citizens to get the driving license fees or can make renewal RM 2 per year only. They still can afford it since their salary are not higher or depends on OKU elaun in their life, thanks to the government :)

Job Requirements

Preferably experienced in an IT environment (training will be provided).
Exposure in Windows Desktop Operating Systems; PC Hardware; Peripherals; MS Office; Imaging software will be advantageous but not a must.
Working knowledge of server operating system & hardware preferred

About DeafBeat

DeafBeat is a drum troupe who has performed at several corporate and private functions as well as staged several concerts at KLPac. The Troupe is unique as all the members are deaf and they have overcome their disability through sheer determination and the desire to succeed.

Together with Pusat Majudiri ‘Y’ for the Deaf, CIMB Foundation set up a year-long percussion training programme. This initiative gave birth to a drum troupe comprising the hearing-impaired individuals called “Deafbeat” trained to play the Chinese drums. It is through the vibration of the drums that they are able to follow the rhythm and beat of the music.

Good news for Disability (OKU) Malaysian! TM @ Unifi High Speed Broadband Service offered the OKU packages to Disabled Malaysian (OKU) citizens effective 21 November 2012. The disability package offers attractive discount rate specially designed to allow this special target group to enjoy and experience the benefits of TM’s high speed broadband service. This is part of TM’s Corporate Responsibility (CR) to enable OKU citizens to be acknowledged as one of the critical components of national human capital development. Important Notes:

An OKU citizen can only subscribe up to one (1) OKU package per OKU identification (OKU ID) card.
Applicable only for serviceable UniFi areas. Subject to service availability and technical testing.
Applicable only for VIP packages. Package features are similar with commercial residential packages.
Application is only at selected TMpoint.
The minimum subscription period for UniFi is 24 months. RM500 will be charged for pre-mature service termination.

Bantuan Rakyat 1 Malaysia (2.0) 2013: Cash Aid Payment To Be Made Starting From 15th January 2013

The payment for 1 Malaysia Cash Aid Scheme (BR1M 2.0) for citizens as well as students will be made starting from 15th January 2013, according to source from New Straits Times.

The payment will be disbursed from 15th January to 15th March 2013. It is expected to benefit 4.3 million households as well as 2.7 million unmarried individuals involving RM3 billion.

Facts & Info:

1) BR1M 2.0 Student Scheme for Students from Primary School Standard One to Secondary School Form 5: RM100

2) BR1M 2.0 for household earning less than RM3k/month : RM500

3) BR1M 2.0 for individuals earning less than RM2k/month: RM250

* The payment will be made in cash voucher.

* Applicants will receive a formal letter regarding the application status.

*Dates for the RM250 book vouchers for university students & the smartphone allowance given to Deaf person aged 21-30 years old with a monthly income of less than RM3000 will be announced by this week.

Many Deaf community talked about Anthony Das! Until my friend posted the link from Thestar.com on my Deaf Boleh! group Facebook which have more than 400 Deaf members.

I still remembered this place when my classmates and I visited the Royal Selangor on my primary school trip, maybe during my age, 8-10 years old. I went there on three times, when with my family and friends on YMCA trip, when I was teenager. I learned that few Deaf people joined the Royal Selangor to learn new opportunity skill of art craft.

I am admired that Anthony Das still working there for 30 years! His skill are very great when he are focusing on his metal trophies with his hardworking! Congratulation to Anthony Das who earned new title, "Special Master Craftsman" award of Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah on this year! Sure, we are proud of him!

KUALA LUMPUR: He doesn't speak nor hear but his work ends up being the objects of conversation exquisite trophies that are held aloft by champions and hailed by royalty.

Anthony Das, 48, an award-winning master craftsman of Royal Selangor has won numerous awards for his pewter creations.

Among the trophies that he has designed and produced so far are the Shanghai Rolex Masters ATP 2012 trophy and those for Moto3, Sime Darby LPGA and the Asean Tour.

Anthony's work earned him the Tukang Ulung Khas (Master Craftsman) award from the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah earlier this year. The jovial craftsman has also designed maces, university plaques and the notable Royal Selangor 125th anniversary tea set.

Two years ago, he won the company's Yong Kai Peng award for exemplary behaviour.
His story is one of true grit. He joined Royal Selangor (then called Selangor Pewter) as an 18-year-old apprentice after leaving school 30 years ago.

Being deaf-mute, Anthony had to rely on sign language for communication.

“I took a year to learn the trade skills and was assigned to the special order's section where customised products are made.

“My colleagues later picked up sign language so they could talk' to me,” recalled Anthony, through an interpreter at the Royal Selangor factory in Setapak.

He soon rose up the ranks to become an artisan with a magic touch.

“I love the challenge of designing each product because I have to imagine it, sketch it on paper and make it come to life while I work,” he said, pointing to a replica of the Shanghai Rolex Masters ATP 2012, one of the most challenging products that he had ever designed.

Temerloh-born Anthony was the only one of his parents' seven children who was born deaf and mute. His father T. Sundararajah enrolled him in a special school in Kuala Lumpur.

“My parents wanted to prove that people with disabilities could lead normal lives. They encouraged me, helping me get married to start a family of my own,” he added.

He spends his free time going on family trips or church visits with his wife Yogulamary, 45 and their daughters Katrina, 13, and Jessica, 10.

KTMB announced about Malaysians earning RM3,000 a month and below are eligible for a 50% discount on KTM Komuter fares for a period of one year from Oct 22 till Nov 21, 2012.

How to get it?
Get your registration form from any Komuter Station. Bring along a copy of your IC/MyKad together with the completed form to register at selected Komuter Stations as stated below.

Redemption period: 22nd October - 21st November 2012

Watch "Silenced" Movie at YMCA Kuala Lumpur

Good news for Deaf movie fans! Many Deaf people love to watch a Korean movie and drama! They always ask this question each other because they want to find where shop to sell the DVD "Silenced" movie in Malaysia. Luckily, they found it at the Speedy Shop and bought new DVD.

For who Deaf miss this movie or don't have DVD, YMCA Kuala Lumpur let the Deaf guests and YMCA members can join together to watch this movie. It's very cheap RM 5.00 only when you do the registration there.

"This movie really make you get the mixed of expression feeling; sad, pain, angry and cry... It's really help to open your eyes and support the disability victims. It's not good to blame the victims because they don't know what's wrong in themselves. Please don't treat the Deaf, and disability people as low-status and mentally community... Bajet Malaysia 2013 diumumkan pada 29 September 2012, Sabtu lalu. Ingat, kita masih hidup dalam 1Malaysia dari 2012 hingga sekarang, jadi ia adalah adil kepada semua sama. Oleh itu, mereka tak kata apa-apa tentang Orang Kurang Updaya (OKU). Tetapi saya tolong periksa untuk kamu semua (OKU) supaya kamu dapat tahu tentang apa manfaat kamu akan dapat dari bajet ini.

Bagi wantia-wanita Pekak

FREE pemeriksaan mamogram for perempuan berusia 40 dan ke atas.
500 wanita dilatih sebagai ahli lembaga pengarah di bawah Program Pengarah Wanita (ia akan dibuka kepada perempuan pekak?)
RM 1000 geran melalui "Get Malaysian Business Online Program (GMBO)" membantu 50,000 Internat Entrepenenurs, terutama wanita.

Bagi Pelajar2 dan Belia Pekak

RM250 Baucar buku 1Malaysia untuk pelajar-pelajar di Tingkatan 6 serta Institusi Pengajian Tinggi. (Sebelum RM200 pada Bajet 2012)
RM200 one-off rebat bagi pembelian telefon pintar 3G untuk orang berumur 21-30 dengan pendapatan bulanan sebanyak RM3, 000 atau ke bawah.
RM 100 Bantuan sekolah untuk semua pelajar sekolah rendah dan menengah
RM2.6 bilion dalam bantuan kebajikan untuk pelajar sekolah
RM 200 juta untuk membantu graduan mendapat kerja.

Bagi PTPTN Peminjam Pekak,

Pembayaran balik pinjaman penuh dari 1 Oktober 2012 sehingga 30 September 2013, diskaun 20% akan diberikan ke atas pinjaman mereka.
Diskaun 10% ke atas pinjaman PTPTN untuk sesiapa nak bayar setiap bulan.

Bagi Keluarga Pekak,

RM250 bantuan wang untuk individu tunggal yang berusia 21 tahun dengan pendapatan bulanan tidak lebih daripada RM2, 000 (BR1M 2.0)
Dan RM500 bantuan wang untuk isi rumah berpendapatan kurang daripada RM3000.
Kadar cukai pendapatan individu dikurangkan 1 % untuk pertama RM50, 000 pendapatan bercukai. Anak pelepasan cukai dinaikkan daripada RM4, 000 kepada RM6, 000 setiap kanak-kanak untuk kanak-kanak berumur 18 tahun dan ke atas dan menerima menerima pendidikan tertiari sepenuh masa.
Diskaun 50% ke atas tambang KTM Komuter diperluaskan kepada semua rakyat Malaysia dengan pendapatan bulanan perjalanan RM3, 000 dan ke bawah dan yang oleh KTM Komuter.
"Skim Rumah Pertama Saya" pendapatan had bagi pinjaman individu dinaikkan daripada RM3,000 kepada RM5,000 sebulan.
Mengurangkan subsidi gula sebanyak 20 sen sekilogram dari 29 Sept 2012.

Bagi Warga Emas, Pesara, Guru-Guru, Kakitangan awan Pekak,

Bonus bulan 1.5 untuk kakitangan awam, Setengah bulan dibayar semasa 2012 Hari Raya. Baki satu bulan akan dibayar dalam 50% pada Disember 2012 dan 50% Januari 2013.
RM 820 Minimum pencen untuk pesara yang telah berkhidmat selama sekurang-kurangnya 25 tahun (meningkat daripada RM 720)

Untuk Pekak berpendapatan rendah

RM 150 yuran pasport untuk 5 tahun (kurang dari RM 300) dan RM 80 untuk pasport 2 tahun (kurang dari RM 100) --> Untuk OKU, ia pecuma sahaja!
1% cukai pendapatan kadar pengurangan bagi orang berpendapatan rendah (sehingga RM 50K pendapatan bercukai)
RM 500 tunai bagi isi rumah dengan gabungan pendapatan sebanyak RM3000 atau kurang.
RM 250 untuk pekak belum berkahwin, berusia 21 tahun dan ke atas, berpendapatan RM 2,000 atau kurang.
Tambang 50% diskaun ke atas KTM bagi rakyat Malaysia dengan berpendapatan sebanyak RM3000 atau kurang.

Untuk Usahawan Pekak

Bernilai RM50 juta pinjaman mudah kepada belia yang berumur 30 tahun & ke bawah. Diberi pinjaman dengan subsidi kadar faedah 2%.
RM50 juta kepada "New Enterpreneur Foundation (NEF)" untuk menyokong ICT usahawan .
RM 200 juta untuk Dana Pembiayaan Harta Intelek untuk menyokong usahawan dengan IPs.
RM 200 juta untuk membantu SMEs yang menghasilkan produk Halal
RM 16 juta perlindungan insurans untuk penjaja dan perniagaan kecil

Untuk Rakyat Pekak tinggal di Sabah and Sarawak

RM 385 juta kepada penurunan harga keperluan barang di Malaysia Timur.
Diskaun 50% ke atas caj feri untuk semua penumpang di Sabah and Sarawak.

Pendidikan Khas

Terdapat banyak kanak-kanak (OKU) daripada keluarga berpendapatan rendah yang tidak menerima pendidikan awal kerana kekurangan pra-sekolah untuk kanak-kanak kurang upaya (TASKA OKU). Oleh itu, Kerajaan akan melaksanakan projek perintis bagi TASKA OKU dalam enam kategori kanak-kanak kurang upaya, iaitu sindrom down, autisme, buta, pekak, kecacatan fizikal, masalah pembelajaran dan lain-lain.

Untuk Perumahan

RM 5000 Rumah Pertama Skim Pendapatan had bagi individu yang dibangkitkan (dari RM3000)
31 Dis 2014: Pengecualian duti setem 50% bagi pemilik rumah pertama dilanjutkan
15% RPGT bagi hartanah dijual kurang daripada 2 tahun, RPGT 10% bagi hartanah yang dijual dalam tempoh 2-5 tahun.
123,000 unit perumahan yang berpatutan.
80,000 rumah RM Nilai 100K-400K.
22.855 unit pangsapuri kos rendah dan sederhana.
