I realllly love this skirt - its a little wrinkled after standing, sitting and climbing flights of stairs all day but I love this pattern alot. Its, of course, from Tals, and on clearance now!

Hi everyone, Anjolee sent me this super pretty ring to review.

All of their pieces are custom made, and can be tailored according to preference of metal type, diamond size, quality and length. They have really pretty gemstones too. I picked a Amethyst - that's my daughters birthstone, and my hubby and I are both Aries, so I thought it would be cute :) The Amythest is sooo deep. I am used to very unsaturated meek purples, and this is a deep, juicy grape.

They have so many pretty, pretty things: Tennis Bracelets that are really cute, perfect for everyday wear, or evening wear...anniversary rings (which is what I chose above) really, really pretty and my favorite - a diamond bridal set that looks kind of vintagey:

Had a nice low-key mother's day. Wore an older dress from Talbots and Talbots Shoes :)
This dress always reminds me of the prints Forrest Gump's Mom wore, so its my Forrest Gump dress.
It has pockets which is always awesome.

Hey everyone, just wanted to pop in and say hi!

Lots going on at SC! I have a final printed proof of my book in hand and ~~it will be up on Amazon within a week or so~~! Is up on Amazon right now!! Woot! Also, there are lots of fun things to read and download for free over there, including a couple of sections of the book...... so check it out.

Also, I started a new job this week! I will no longer be working from home, so I suspect my posting will pick up. I am excited for work clothes again. Hope you guys are all doing well, drop me a line!

So hubby wanted to order pizza for the three of us, and while on the phone, he says "Large is big enough right?" And I was like "Of course not, we need the extra large for the three of us." O_O Uhhhhh.....

The moral of the story is, don't leave me in charge of portion ordering.

Even my Harry Potter shirt couldn't get me out of this one LOL.

In MAC Studio Fix Powder I am C4, but I have never found one of their foundations that matched me, all of their liquids oxidize on my skin and turn peachy.

With Winter Skin -__- Korres WR3 and Revlon ColorStay Oil free are the best matches on my face, spring moves me into Korres WR4 but once summer moves in, MUFE 153 and Korres WR5 come out to play :) Yes, they joy of tanning easily is also the joy of owning at least 5 foundations in the course of a year.

This is the black blazer I got from Dillards recently. I really like it, and was looking for one I could toss on for a myriad of outfits. It set me back a cool $45 (clearance) and is also a 8P. I passed on the 16P pants for this one LOL!

I always have a hard time finding jackets that fit my (narrowish) shoulders, but I think this one worked out pretty well.

Kind of a funny story. Well, an interesting story. I went shopping recently for some new things and Dillard's was having a major clearance sale. I picked up these pants. They are a size 16P. I bought the matching jacket. It is a size 8P and fits like a glove. It is really hard to shop sometimes. LOL - I much prefer skirts. In which I usually wear a 12/14. Anyway, the pants need a few alterations, but they were only $30, so I will live.

While I was out, I popped into JCrew to try on this skirt, which (the pattern) is stunning in person. It is called a "long" pencil skirt, but I had no idea what "long" meant to JCrew. I kid you not, the misses skirt went down to my lower-calf...it was HILARIOUS. I checked the inseam online, and its 25 in misses and 23 in petites. I like my pants to be at about 28.5 (ha!). Also, I tried on the 12, and it was super snug on the backside, but droopy and loose around my tummy and waist. How they managed that, I have NO idea.
-___- Not the look I am going for. Maybe I should have turned it around (ha!) They didn't have it in petite in the store I went in, but I doubt it would have fit anyway. Anyone else try this one?

Winter is Coming

Hi everyone, hope you are doing well.

I may have mentioned I own a bunch of graphic tees - this particular one is from Game of Thrones, has the Stark family crest and states "Winter is Coming" (the Stark motto). For the record, I have never seen the series, just read the books. I actually like the motto better than I like the books, I feel like, the proverbial ant, its good to remember Winter is always on the way and be prepared. :) Its a good reminder.

Anyway, this is one of my fave ways to wear my geek tees - with a skirt and cardigan - just something different.

I realized recently that I didn't have any pics of my coat. I got this at the Loft for about $50 earlier this fall. I think someone had accidently marked it down with some other coats, and I snatched it up right away. At the register it rang up much higher, but the manager was the one ringing me up, and just said she was going to honor the price, before I even said to put it back. I know they are supposed to, but in this day and age, so many of them don't. It's not very cold here, so I don't need much.

Talbot's February Catalog

After a hectic week or so, I finally got a chance to sit down with my new February 2012 Talbot's catalog. I am very impressed with the merchandise in this one!

The main color is Blue, mostly Navy, with some cobalt and sky tossed in for good measure - and the colors they chose to go along with it are mostly purples and greens, which look great with it. They have a great new featured print, which might be bold for some - the Ikat - but I think its cute.

This issue also has an expanded and well-featured suit section in the back. I have seen some complaints lately about Talbot's not offering as many suits, even though I think they were there, just hidden away in the middle of the catalog out of sight. In this one, they give a full, well highlighted section covering several new fabrications for the Spring.

My friend and I were laughing.... I wore this to the grocery store, and for errands. I don't get out a whole lot working at home, and I love wearing fun stuff like this. :-P

Anyways, this jacket is the bulk of what I picked up during the Loft $50 off $100 Facebook coupon and I thought it was very nautical in the store. But when I brought it home, it was sooo preppy lol! Love it.

These are some super cheap boots I got from Avenue last year. They fit really well, and were like $30 or something like that. Kimberly was talking about great boot deals there recently as well.
