My website is currently being switched over to Word Press...for easier updates and hopefully a better looking blog. Since this site is missing all kinds of great gig highlights, I thought I would list out my musical adventures over the past year....including my SOLO performances with Jane Milliken or Simon Kendal on piano and my gypsy swing shows with the wonderful Hot Club of Mars.

So much has happened in the last year...I feel so blessed and looking forward to many more shows....an increase in song writing, co-writing and recording.

2012 marks my 10th anniversary with Vancouver's Hot Club of Mars (HCOM) - what a ride it has been and we will celebrate with our 2nd full length CD... sometime before the snow flies :)

Gibson's Landing in the sunshine!

Had a wonderful time in Gibson's on the Sunshine Coast. Left Vancouver that morning with grey skies and arrived at the festival to sunshine, dancing children and many fans lounging in the park.

Last November we had such a blast at the Electro Swing Club... held that night at The Electric Owl. It was an evening full of swingin' live bands, sassy burlesque, a vintage fashion show and DJ's. The place was hoppin' with fun and we are super thrilled to return Saturday, March 24th.

NEW - Double Bill Concert Series

Super excited to offer 3 special nights of music to ya'll. These House Concerts (or should I say Studio Concerts) are the last Saturday of each month and will feature TWO sets with an intermission.

A set of original songs with myself and piana-gal Jane Milliken. We have been songwriting for a few months and look forward to sharing these new songs with you. A second set will showcase some amazing local talent. Every night will bring good vibrations...maybe even an after show dance party :)

2012 promises to be a great year. The Hot Club of Mars new CD is starting to take shape....finally. Sorry for the delay folks! The year is starting off with Many Happy Returns! St. Andrew's Wesley Jazz Vesper in April and another Electro Swing Club (ESC) event at The Performance Works in March. These ESC events combine swing dance, live bands, burlesque and DJ's. The mix of talent is top notch and the audience makes the night one colourful affair...be there! http://vimeo.com/34647669

Also in April is the annual April in Paris ~ Django Festival held at St. James Hall. This is always a phenomenal 3 day line-up and we are thrilled to be asked back.

There is hope to break new ground on Vancouver Island this year and possibly Ontario. Applications in and fingers crossed, so we will see how it dances out. The island won't be a problem though we would like to combine dates in Victoria, Duncan and Comox with the release of the new CD so we are waiting to book those. Ontario is a whole other dance ~ wish us luck!

These shows do sell out so please RSVP early to save your seat. Doors open at 7pm and you will be buzzed up to the penthouse. The show will start at 7:30 sharp and no one will be let up after that time. We will perform 2 sets of music with a short intermission with light snacks and drinks served. Simon and I will play solo pieces as well as a variety of songs together. Hope to see you there!

Thank you very much to those who have inquired about purchasing my music. Currently there is no way to buy my music online as a digital download. I started down the "online sales" road with CD Baby (who actually do have hard copies to sell) soon after Reverb Nation started offering digital distribution. (who I use for a variety of other services) Needless to say, i am trying to make things as simple for me as I can. In the upcoming PHASE II of this site... there will be new features including SALES and DOWNLOADS!!!! Sorry for any frustration...I have been a little slow on this....I know. Also watching how this whole free downloading, intellectual property, copy write dance unfolds.

Please email me directly for any of my recordings. I will be happy to mail you copies for $20 each which covers, shipping, tax etc. You can wrangle a deal if you are looking for more than one copy :) I have very limited copies of my solo CD left in this format. I will be doing a new press and changing a few things.

Jammin' tunes for Greenpeace

Myself and members of The Hot Club will open this festival Sept 17th with a set of swing tunes at 11am. I will also join a talented group of musicians at 1:20 for a set Grateful Dead songs at the 40th Anniversary of Greenpeace. It is so much fun singing these songs again. 18 tracks in two days at Blue Wave Studio

Had a great time in the studio with The Hot Club of Mars at the end of May. Hard to believe we got 18 tracks recorded in two days....wow! We all worked super hard and were very pleased with the results. We will see which ones make the cut after Charlie (bass/producer) works his magic.

Thanx to everyone who helped make it happen including Blue Wave engineer Ken Burke and his staff at PAVI, Andrew Bee for documenting our process and our families for letting us escape for the whole weekend.

Looking to release in October at St. James Hall with the help of The Rogue Folk Club.

This weekend marks our return to the 5th Annual April in Paris - Festival of Gypsy Jazz April 19th - May 1st at St. James hall in Kitsilano. Every year Steve Edge and The Rogue Folk Club pull together amazing music with a fine line up. This year we kick it all off with local Roma Swing on Friday night. The evening will start with a swing dance class too (7:15) so come on out and be transported to the 1930's in Paris. Dress up, bring your dancing shoes and let loose :)

Girls Night Out - Comedy in PoMo this Friday

Don Kellett and his lovely wife Susan played some swing tunes with me during the reception and intermission of this event. Wall paper gigs can be hard on the heart but this wall to wall gaggle of gals.... tasting wine and eating chocolate, kept us fully entertained. Port Moody has a lovely glass gallery around their city centre....so pretty with its floor to ceiling windows presently encircled with cherry blossom. A local artist has painted the the trunks is a deep periwinkle which adds to the whimsy of the space. Local art, a Zumba demonstration, and a sold out theatre gave mer a sense that this annual event helps keep the heart and creative soul of this community alive. Well done and happy to be there!

For the past 9 yrs I have had the pleasure of playing music with Vancouver's Hot Club of Mars We do an annual show at The Brackendale Art Gallery and though it often lands on the Eagle Count weekend - this year it is a little later on April 17th. Always a fun performance in a charming venue. Perfect for creating a full day adventure into the wilderness and back to the gallery for a light dinner and show. Hope to see you there :)
