This great awesome piece of art is inspired by a conversation I heard a while ago between Walnuts and Spyder, when Wals was preping Spyder over Teamspeak about a boss mob in Diablo 2. I couldn't stop laughing, so I asked my Gummy Bear (Her name for herself, not mine) to draw it up for me. Here is what she drew. I think tis a work of art, and I want a printout for my wall here! Swayze's Cancer Battle cont.

So as always, the Tabloids are full of it! It turns out that the story they released was great exaggerated (yeah, like we didn't see that coming). The truth of the matter is that Swayze has been diagnosed with with pancreatic cancer - but insists he's not as close to death as reports suggest. In a statement issued a short time ago, Dr. Fisher says, "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far". Click Here for the upated story.

I came across this article saying that Patrick Swayze has 5 weeks to live due to pancreatic cancer. The article then goes on to say that Swayze has also lost over 20lbs and is struggling to keep down solid foods. The problem with this story is that the article says that the source of all this information is from the Tabloids. Tabloids has never been the most RELIABLE source of information, so now the question is.... IS THIS TRUE? If this is for real, then this is truly a sad time for all of us. That shot is NOT from the game. We can dream... However, Eidos has confirmed they are producing a Dr. Who video game based on the popular UK show. The Doctor has a time machine, that is a blue telephone booth, all sorts of gadgets and some form of hot chick with him all the time. So let's pray Eidos doesn't drop the ball on this one. Or maybe just me, as I think our resident DSphile. So I'll pray for all of us. Except North Dakota. Those guys still suck.

ZeckViews: AudioSurf

And here I was this morning, ready to post my Advance Wars ZeckView. That was until yesterday, when I played AudioSurf. And now I have to write about it, its that good.
AudioSurf is an indie PC game, developed by BestGameEver, (Hows that for an ambitious studio name?) You control a little ship, that flies along a track. There are blocks on this track, that you hit that fill a grid up (think connect four.) Once you create a group of a set of color blocks, they disappear. Theres no penalty for missing blocks, but you also get no points. Pretty Simple, eh?

The catch is that you select a song from your harddrive, and that song is read to create the track you play on, and the background music in the level.

So the first level I played was "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack. Word to the wise, songs with strong beats make for some bumpy levels! The game asks for an Mp3 for each level, then it reads the song and creates a level from scratch, based on the beat and waveform of the song. The craziness of the track is directly related to the craziness of the song. If the song has a fast beat, then you play a fast level. Of course the song you pick is also used as the backround music for the level. If you decide to get creative and pick a song that goes from fast to slow, you get a very unique course, that both rises and falls, goes fast in some sections and slow in others, and gets super intense for some areas and relaxed in others. May I suggest "No Leaf Clover" by Metallica?
You are in essence competing for high score in every level. You can't lose, but a new leader board is created for every game. If you play "No Leaf Clover," you may see a leader board entry for "Zeck." You can challenge my score right in the demo, and then you can beat me. (Maybe) Or you can call me out on a song of your choosing. The multiplayer options here are pretty cool, because you are automatically playing against the world on every track ever made. No setup, no annoying games to find, just straight leader boards on your favorite song ever.
There are 15 different modes to play to give you a higher score, each with little nuances. One is a single color mode, but with negative blocks in addition to positive. There one mode that give you the ability to scoop up blocks and place them where will strategically give you higher scores. Theres one that appears to let you hit two blocks at once. 15 modes x every song in existence = infinite replayability, literally.
Lastly, the game is available on Steam as a 5 song demo or for $10 as a full version. You can bring it anywhere you can install Steam and your account. It doesn't get any easier then this. And for $10, you don't need to worry about breaking the bank. Get this game now!

Here is a video of one of our close friends Phil working on a commercial project for school (Five Towns College). The commercial is suppose to be promoting a lumber yard and these are the out takes.
